Loved the hotel. Catered to all. Restaurant was fabulous. Room was roomy. If you needed ice you have to request from front desk. Nice neighborhood. 5 minute walk to DuPont Circle for Metro. Great overall design. Great overall stay.

Definitely one of my favorite hotels in DC! I’ve stayed here dozens of times and every room is so cozy. The mid modern century aesthetic is super relaxing. It has a great gym. Staff is always super friendly. My only gripe is at the restaurant well often really good can be really terrible in terms of food, consistency, and service.

Parking was a bit pricey, but the room was comfortable and spacious. The bar and workout area were also nice, although busy. It is a very convenient location for DuPont Circle.

Quiet, clean, and stylish but with some quirks. The kitchenette in the upgraded room had no microwave or fridge but they were delivered promptly upon request as the sign in the room indicated. No ice machines but ice can be delivered upon reuest.

I love the restaurant. I come here every year however, the food quality isn’t the same from the first time. Parking is atrocious, and the valet gets full—that’s something I’ve never experienced. I had higher expectations for my stay there.

This hotel is a gem in Dupont Circle! It’s modern, sophisticated, with art-filled decor, great fitness center, great restaurant with foodie approved food and cocktails, and excellent service by friendly, knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend and will definitely stay there again!

Filthy rooms. Stained carpet throughout the rooms and halls. One style furniture, chipped, and mangled furniture for lighting. Just awful. Such a deal for $500 a night. Bad breakfast. Tasteless coffee. Unripe fruit. Burned toast. Lackadaisical service. Would never stay here again. This is definitely not a four star hotel. It’s maybe a two star hotel. A good day.

This hotel is easily walkable from Dupont Circle and that is a huge plus if you plan on catching the Metro train. It's also in a very safe neighborhood. Housekeeping does a pretty good job of consistently resetting the room every day while cleaning. I stayed for 7 days and was impressed.

So my cleanliness issue was more of a safety concern than an actual cleanliness issue. I stepped on a shard of glass beside the bed near the bedside table and it cut my foot. The receptionist at the front was very nonchalant about it so I’m assuming this is a common issue in their rooms(?). Beyond that, we liked the hotel. I loved the gentlemen at the front who provided valet service. They were so friendly and personable.

Not sure if the property is having plumbing issues but my room in the 4th floor had constant plumbing noises throughout the duration of my stay. Like a gurgling noise. The water in the shower gave off a sewage odor. The light switches in the bathroom were filthy..caked up black and brown stuff in the crevices. Quite off putting

Oir stay at Lyle Washington was magnificent! Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our check-in and check-out was easy and smooth. But mostly, we appreciated the incredible staff. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. Especially, the valet workers. We will definitely be returning

This message is meant for the hotel only. I message is to be of help and certainly not to hurt. Our room was beautiful. The reception was also very good. Unfortunately, the dampness in the room was very unpleasant and uncomfortable. When we entered the room, the smell was of dampness. We opened the windows immediately. Regardless of our efforts, I woke up the next morning with one of the worst sinus headaches I have had in a lifetime. I am not sure what the hotel can do about that as I don’t know if that was just our room or the issue permeates to other spaces. When I return to DC, I doubt I will be going back to the Lyle. That is unfortunate as it is in a great location.

The Lyle is recently renovated and room condition is excellent. Location is convenient and pleasant Bathroom is well appointed and room lighting is ample. A few issues keep it from being a top choice though. Beds have duvets without top sheets, which is uncomfortable in the summer. Room is advertised as having a kitchenette but, though dishes are provided, there is not even a microwave. There is no desk or place to work in the room, which is fairly cramped. Most seriously, my room was on a low floor in the back of the building. They dump trash from the bar and restaurant in the dumpsters starting around 6:00AM, followed by a seemingly endless succession of noisy garbage trucks.Even with ear plugs the racket means that sleep after 6AM is difficult. So if you do stay here, insist on a high floor in the front of the building if you want to sleep.

This is definitely by far the lowest level of hotel I’ve ever stayed. I came to DC for the weekend and booked this bcuz it was rated that highest compare to other hotels in the specific area bcuz I need to be very near for the event I came for. This hotel is at most a 2.5 star.Be sure to have great data on your phone bcuz this hotel WiFi is a gimmick. Never worked. Do not stay here if u have to get glammed up for any special occasion. Lack of proper/enough lighting and absolutely now mirror to see yourself from neck down. There’s no mirrors with in hallways.the hotel had a really run down smell and look. Be prepared to hear a very disturbing sound from air/heat. Oh and the extra cost for daily “amenities” is a bottle of water and coffee machine. It’s a joke bc I do not drink coffee and the water is the water I drink. This should be optional for guests.this does make any since to have to pay and additional $40 per day when u r already over paying for staying at this very underwhelming hotel or should I really call it a motel?! Bc this is literally what it look and feel like. I think the people of rated this hotel that have it listed as 4+ star have never stayed at the ritz, four seasons etc. very very inconvenient for what I needed and very disappointing for what I was expecting. Definitely would never stay here again if I ever have to be in DC again. I’m from nyc and also travels all over the world so know what high quality and service looks and feel and it isn’t this.

Staff is excellent. Every single one, so this is not about them. They made it great. Rooms were clean and no weird fabuloso/cleaning solution smell. That was great. Um . . . pedestal sink in 2025 with no adjacent table or ledge? Seriously? Not even a space for my toothbrush and paste. Try putting on make up or drying your hair, or curling it while going back and forth to the bed. And 1 towel? Great, if you're a man. No place for your stuff in the shower. No shaving ledge. And no place to hang towel while showering. You either get out of the shower soaking wet and drip everywhere, or put it on the toilet or floor. Speaking of bed, everything was polyfil so even with the thermo down low, you'll sweat. Pretty, but not restful. No full mirror anywhere, not even the hallway. No desk/table or chair in the rooms, so zero place to put your laptop if you don't want to work on your bed or go to the public area (which who wants to do at 10pm?). I worked on my bed, but it was not optimal. No iron in room. Steamer was mediocre at best. But the real issue was no outlet in any place where there was a hook for your item to hang, so you had to hold your item with one hand while steaming -- awkward, especially if you are not tall (like me). The staff made it good. Helpful. Kind. Attentive. If my pain points don't bother you, then it's a great place because location and staff were great. I'm not mad, just disappointed.

My husband and I stayed there with our 2 boys and we had a great! We flew in from Texas and didn’t know if this area would be good as far as walking distance to the main attractions (White House, Washington monument etc) but we managed it all just fine. The hotel was lovely, clean, comfy, the staff was so nice & helpful! Places to eat close by within a 10min walk. (We did not rent a car, we walked everywhere and or Uber’d in the evening once we were done - all the Ubers/Taxi knew where the hotel was so it was quick) The ONLY issue we had was the shower - it wouldnt get to an in between of warm and hot and so after a long day of touring DC ( & walking everywhere) a nice warm shower is what we all wanted and we couldn’t get it just right but once we did, it took forever & we’d have to be quick once it finally got to a temp we wanted.

Cute property in fabulous DuPont Circle. Room was really quaint, but AC was not powerful enough to cool down the room. We told the front desk and they said they’d fix it, but didn’t get fixed. It might be that it was just really hot the weekend we were there.
Cute property in fabulous DuPont Circle. Room was really quaint, but AC was not powerful enough to cool down the room. We told the front desk and they said they’d fix it, but didn’t get fixed. It might be that it was just really hot the weekend we were there.

One of my favorite boutique style hotels in DC. Simple yet beautiful decor - rooms feel clean and fresh with all the white details. Hotel staff is always friendly, restaurant/bar staff could be more friendly. Love the location - easily walkable to restaurants, shops, and services. My ONLY real gripe is that the AC is never cold enough. I have to request a light blanket so I don’t end up waking up sweating in the middle of the night - this is definitely the one keeps the Lyle from being my top choice the couple times a month I’m in for business.

Teddy was the best! He's the reason we enjoyed our stay! The other staff members were unfriendly, disinterested and unhelpful. Not just these staff members though, but generally other places too. But I cannot say enough wonderful things about Teddy the doorman-valet! He should be promoted to concierge! Bad shower pressure. No ice machine. Had to ask for a full length mirror. Rooms are New York small, and unnecessary furniture in the room taking up too much space. More hooks needed in the bathroom for towels, I was with my husband and we had a king, so it would make more sense that the bathroom would need more towel racks. But my biggest complaint is that they put a Nespresso machine in the room instead of a Keurig. The front desk kept giving me decaf, and didn't know the difference between the pods, and argued with me about it until I showed her the pods online. Then she just said she'd send housekeeping but didn't. I had to go buy my own. Keurig is easier to use, easier to find in a store, and make a real size cup of coffee. Just an irritant. Please hired friendly helpful people to work at the Lyle. I'm in the service industry for 40 years, and still working so I know how to treat customers!

Wonderful hotel in a lovely neighborhood with easy access to Dupont Circle area, restaurants, etc. We suggested the room needed a full length mirror for future guests and 10 minutes later there was a mirror delivered!! Thank you Lyle staff--very thoughtful!

We actually stayed at this hotel twice. The experiences were night and day. The first day the staff was not particularly friendly when we checked in. A simple good evening or welcome to the hotel would’ve done the trick. However, the second stay in the same week had a different set of staff who were much friendlier and welcoming. The highlight of this property is it proximity and the hotel bar/restaurant was excellent. More over the bellhop was very nice as was the valet.

Check in was a horrible. Room wasnt ready till after 5:30pm with a 3pm check in. Then when we got in the room there was trash still in room pushed into a corner. That baffled mw becauae they said the reason it was taking so long to check in was because of the final walk thru to make sure room was perfect.

Oir stay at Lyle Washington was magnificent! Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our check-in and check-out was easy and smooth. But mostly, we appreciated the incredible staff. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. Especially, the valet workers. We will definitely be returning

Had an hour delay on checkin, as they said the phone number attached to my Expedia booking was unclear. I was waiting in their closed lobby bar, front desk associate knew ,went to lunch didn't commywith other. Not a great start . Hotel indicated valet parking available, didn't disclose valet only option with a 55$ rate per day . Towels were not the softest . Bed , room, amenities were great. Front ,desk, restaurant, and valet staff were wonderful.

My stay at the Lyle Hotel was disappointing. Although I had already prepaid for my room, the hotel charged my card again for no clear reason. The front desk staff promised to call me back to resolve the issue but never did and I had to follow up myself. The room itself was just okay, and I didn’t try the hotel restaurant. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because they’re disorganized and double-charged me despite my room being paid in full.

The Lyle was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Great location within walking distance to metro and close to a lot of great bars and restaurants. Room and bathroom were clean and had a cool bar area downstairs.

Definitely one of my favorite hotels in DC! I’ve stayed here dozens of times and every room is so cozy. The mid modern century aesthetic is super relaxing. It has a great gym. Staff is always super friendly. My only gripe is at the restaurant well often really good can be really terrible in terms of food, consistency, and service.

I am extremely satisfied with the Lyle. It's in a beautiful section of DC. Very walkable to many locations. The hotel itself is very lovely - the common area and the room. The staff is extremely customer service oriented - and are very pleasant. The bar and restaurant are VERY good in terms of taste, quality and style. There is no reason to stay anywhere else. I would stay here again.

This hotel is a gem in Dupont Circle! It’s modern, sophisticated, with art-filled decor, great fitness center, great restaurant with foodie approved food and cocktails, and excellent service by friendly, knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend and will definitely stay there again!

One of the best hotel experiences as a family. We stayed for two nights. The staff - from the front desk to the valet to the servers in the restaurant- we’re all courteous and attentive. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The only thing that would have made the room more comfortable was if the A/C unit wasn’t placed right above our beds. The noise and direct wind (in “circulation” mode) made it not ideal. But not a big deal. We would stay here again if we return to DC.
