The room was great. However, upon arrival, there was no parking available. When I asked for suggestions on where to park, the front desk had none. We had to park a half mile away and walk back. This was not what we expected from a hotel.

Nice well equipped hotel with friendly attentive staff. The only issue is that the weather was chilly, and the hotel system is either A/C or heat for the entire building, and it was still set to A/C in October, so we were cold at night.

It was warm in DC and the air conditioning Wasn’t working in the rooms. I called the front desk and they told me it’s because they hadn’t switched over to air conditioning yet very strange that they would have such an outdated system!

Great location and very pretty hotel and room. No parking was available which made it quite difficult. A lot of hallway light shone under the door of the room, making falling asleep difficult.

Overall excellent but internet is TERRIBLE. Not a viable option if you have business to conduct. Wi-Fi always weak and even weak Wi-Fi fluctuates from zero to weak every 30 seconds. Shame in an otherwise nice place.

We chose this property because it’s was reasonably located in the city and the areas we had planned to be for the weekend. Understandably the hotel is historic; however, I was disappointed in the cleanliness. There was dust/dirt everywhere, on the baseboards, lamps, etc. The toilet was not the most clean either. There was a weird air condition pipe in the window in our room. There was only one proper outlet in the room, excluding the one in the bathroom. Apparently we should have had two complimentary waters in the room but nothing was in the fridge. They do not have onsite or day service available so any extras are at request. Probably won’t be an option for us again.

Terrible experience from the moment we checked in. The front desk receptionist was rude. Our room was next to the service elevator which kept us up all night. We asked to be moved and were told it couldn’t be accomplished because we had booked through a 3rd party. The rooms are cleaned every 4 days-disgusting!

Upon check in, I was given a room that was terribly unclean with body hair everywhere, an awful smell, and a noisy air conditioner. After complaining the staff said they would send someone to reclean but while waiting for this to happen I discovered that the toilet didn't flush. I went downstairs again and demanded another room, which the staff gave me. Also the entry carpets were filthy. This is just plain old mis-management, nothing else can explain it. So If you want to stay in filth, where the management doesn't care enough about your experience to perform their most basic responsibility as hosts, this might be your place.

Pretty run down hotel that shows its age. I didn’t get any room cleaning or clean towels for 3 days (they said they service rooms once every 3 days when I asked about it during checkout), the pillows and sheets were old and mostly beyond the end of their useful life with yellow hues and some permanent rust stains.

This is my first stay at the Churchill. The room was very nice and comfortable. I was disappointed at the uncleanliness of the bathroom when I arrived. There was toothpaste in the sink and hairs in multiple places. The valet who took care of my car was very friendly and helpful. Depending on the rate compared to the Hilton, I would like to stay there again, and hope the uncleanliness was just a one time thing.

Disappointing Experience Despite a Beautiful Hotel The Churchill Hotel is visually impressive — the lobby is elegant and smelled great upon arrival. The room I stayed in was spacious and well-decorated. However, the experience was overshadowed by poor service and lack of hospitality. When I called to ask about the OpenKey app, I was cut off mid-sentence with a blunt, “It doesn’t work,” followed by them hanging up. At check-in, there was no eye contact or greeting. Unfortunately, the lack of basic hospitality made the stay uncomfortable. I won’t be returning.

Nice hotel in a fairly central area. Felt safe, even at nighttime. The room was fairly spacious, bathroom was nice. My only complaint was that the walls are VERY THIN (could very clearly hear loud coughing and conversations from neighbouring rooms – not just muffled talking, but could hear every single word).

The lobby area is quaint with seating for a few if you have to wait for check in. The staff on duty during check in and check out were friendly and courteous. The room we had was small and right next to the service elevator so it was a little noisy. Aside from it being small, it was well appointed with bathroom essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. The neighborhood was easily walkable with lots going on around. DuPont Cir was just a few blocks away and I felt safe navigating the streets on foot.

The hotel was nice and clean. However, the parking attendant was not friendly when we arrived to the hotel, and neither was the woman at the check-in desk. It was very difficult to find parking for my vehicle because they said the valet was full, and then the next person in line behind me was then able to valet their car. How is that possible? And then the room they gave us was horrible. We were put right next to the service elevator on Floor 4 and had to deal with ridiculously loud noises all night. Sleeping in our room was very uncomfortable because of it. Definitely will not rebook at this hotel if we are ever back in DC. I would rather stay somewhere that seems to care more about their guests.

Be aware that random amounts will be taken from your account that the card you use for incidentals is associated with. I was not informed at any time that this would occur and the amounts taken out, three times, had a major impact on my trip as I had budgeted and did not anticipate I would have all these debits that would mean I could not afford to eat and had to skip a planned excursion. I was told the amounts were usually small but again was NEVER told the debits would occur. I have been trying to resolve this for close to a week now with an email having been sent, two voicemail being left but no one has responded to let me know how this would be resolved. The hotel is in a nice part of town, a quick drive to most “tourist” locations, the room was very nice and spacious, the on site restaurant was nice as well but having money taken from your account that has a significant impact on your trip, that you were not told would occur would be the biggest drawback for this hotel along with being informed as to when you’d have the funds returned which hasn’t occurred as of this writing.

Room was comfortable. Front desk staff was horrible. The guys were perfect, but there was one African American woman working at the front desk that was having a conversation about me and my family, and didn't know that my sister was standing there. It made uncomfortable so I checked out a day early. The conversation wasn't pleasant. I will never stay there again. I think the receptionist needs to be retrained. When I confronted her, she couldn't deny it

Had a conference on Friday and stayed through Shabbos. The hotel staff was very accommodating about Shabbos (and the Chabad shul is 2 doors down) and in general was very courteous and helpful. The room was large and immaculate. Could not have expected a better experience.

I was there for a conference at the Hilton across the street but decided to stay here because it was cheaper and just a few minute walk to the Hilton. The location is relatively convenient because it's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station (DuPont Circle). After the conference ended, I stayed for a couple of days to work remotely from the room. The desk made that easy to do. Especially since it's in a separate section of the room, and my wife was also working from the room and this gave us a bit of privacy for virtual meetings. The staff was very professional and friendly. I guess my only caution would be to those counting on the "business center." It's connected to the bar area and can get noisy, even during the day. Oh, and the only issue with they location was that there are a LOT of sirens at all hours of the day and night. Not sure if it's near a hospital, fire station, or police station, or if it's just because it a busy city area. I definitely plan on staying there again for next year's conference!

Checking in was a breeze and the staff were very nice. The room was awesome and beds super comfy. The only bad thing was that the bar and restaurant weren't open so I ended up wasting money on buying breakfast.

The shower needed to be run for several minutes before warm, breakfast was ordinary at best, the bar underwhelming. No room service. Rooms run down. Every time someone left their room, the closing of their door would make mine make a very large noise. Underinvested in property.

The shower had some hairs, the cleanliness was not great. The nickle and diming over the types of breakfast left a really sour taste for us, given the fact that we had paid for breakfast. The so-called Continental Breakfast is ridiculous and embarrassingly limited, can't even believe I paid for that. All the actual breakfast elements were in the other option, but then they asked for 5 $ extra. Ridiculous at these high prices to do this. Very much in poor taste. It's such as shame, the rooms are so spacious and comfortable, it's a shame to lose the good impression on such petty stuff.

This hotel was better than I expected. Very friendly staff, clean and nice room. I would stay here again. My only complaint is that one English muffin and one regular coffee was 12.00, so I do not recommend the breakfast.
