The accommodations were very clean and the staff was very helpful. We had some connectivity problems, but the staff took care of those quickly. However, do not stay in the Honeymoon suite unless you are very agile - because of the jacuzzi. The tub floor is very slippery and the tub has a glass door, complete with a metal track, so you can't sit on the edge and swing your legs into the deep tub. There is no easy way to get into or out of the tub. Your feet will slip and you'll end up on your head in the tub (as I did while trying to get out) or doing the splits on the metal track. There is a grab bar but it's outside of the tub door, behind the bathroom door on the left side - so it is almost unusable for right handed people. I recommend they remove the door and metal rail and install a shower curtain so guests can sit on the edge of the tub. ALSO: The restaurant is separate from the hotel for billing purposes. You can't put your dinner on your hotel tab. The food is very good, but the restaurant is understaffed so you wait 45 minutes at your table after you've ordered for dinner, and sometimes 1/2 hour for breakfast. The wait staff is very friendly, but completely overworked, as is the kitchen staff.

The toilets in the rooms and common areas are to small. They need to be raised another ft off the floor. This place is not for people who have to use devices for walking. No handicap ramps to speak of. Need more help in the dining room slow service and both our orders were wrong.Sorry to say I cannot recommend this place to others.

Enjoyed our stay. The property could use a bit of attention but I would still recommend staying here. The restaurant on site was convenient after a long day of travel. The bar drinks and food were good but it took a long time to be served anything we ordered. A nice hot breakfast was offered as part of the stay which included numerous choices. The location on the river was peaceful and it was close to town.

Perfect for us and our dogs! Staff is helpful, friendly and accommodating. Love bringing our pups for the weekend swimming and staying right at the river. Not to mention our favorite eggs Benny :) We are huge fans of the cabins.

We should have stayed two nights but only booked one. We had 6 of us, 3 adults and 3 children and our room was more than enough room for all of us. 4 queen beds and 2 bathrooms on two floors! It was quite a surprise. It is in a great location too. The pool is nice. Some of the property is a bit old but it is very well maintained. The breakfast was included and was really great with a wide variety on the menu and that really made it worth the overall nightly price. We will definitely go back and hopefully get one of the cabins next time and spend more time with some of the other amenities like the firepits and river access.

We loved the property being on the saco river. There could be some improvements with the access to River though. The area there needs safer railings and descent steps into the river. The pool needs some work and the area around it. We are hoping to return with our adult children in the coming years.

This resort is really quaint and has a lot to offer. The only real negative issues was the rooms were a little small and some of the amenities were a little outdated however the overall ambience of the resort is outstanding. It is not the type of place you plan to stay in the room. They have an excellent family game room and restaurant along with many areas where people can sit to congregate and have fellowship. Looking forward to trying this place in the summertime with direct access to the Saco River.

Traveling with three senior citizens there was lots of stairs and no elevator. You have to go up and down stairs to get anywhere in the place. This would have been nice to know

This was a beautiful place to stay with our grandchildren! The staff, breakfast, and beautiful clean rooms and grounds made our stay perfect! This would also make a great wedding spot! We will be back!!

The hotel was good. Room was good and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. But, whatever you do, dont eat there. We booked a table at 6. We were the second couple there. 45 minutes later the first couple go her hamburger - overcooked, and his steak, also overcooked. We got our fish before they got their food - about 40 minutes. We were the only tables full. The fish was rubbery, and the one piece was only an inch loneger than the french fries. The plate was hot so my coleslaw was warm. Breakfast was also a problem. They serve toast but no jam or jelly is available. The eggs tasted like fish. So, our stay at the hotel amd we would return - we just wouldnt eat there.

There was a stain in the bath tub and we could not completely turn off shower. This caused a dripping sound all night long. Internet did not work for us the whole stay. Drink vending machine was completely out of product which took our money and did not refund. Morning staff at front desk was very rude and not friendly at all.

Good restaurant with breakfast included. Rooms pretty dated. And, we got a terrible room right next to the passageway between buildings where customers parked (and started up) their motorcycles and others smoked marijuana. This is a problem using Expedia. Yes, you get a better price but you also get the worst rooms. Will not make that mistage again.

I booked this stay based on reviews I read. Our experience was different than all the positive reviews, so it was a little disappointing. Pros: clean room/bathroom, check-in staff were friendly, nice dining area with fireplace, unique vintage property, great location Cons: Mattress was extremely firm and pillows were thin. Not accessible, a lot of stairs. Thin ceilings which amplified footsteps above non-stop throughout the late night. Dining: Once you get to the dining hall you wait at the host stand to be seated (per the big sign). You’re finally acknowledged, then told to select wherever you’d like to sit by the host/server, who is standing right by the menus, but makes you wait for them instead of giving them to you when you seat yourself. The process seems silly and service is a bit slow overall. The menu appeared like it had delicious options. It is written like you’ll get a fresh farm to table experience. When you get your food, it’s basically a tv dinner. Not worth the money. Although breakfast was “free” it felt the same way. Bait and switch. Overall it was alright for one night. We most likely won’t stay there again.

The hotel is poorly kept and lacks normal room comforts like a in-room coffee maker and clothing storage. The internet was very poor and the lighting was dingy. Not at ALL worth the price paid.

This place was EXCELLENT, all except for the air conditioner in our room. Both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were fast, delicious, and highly recommended!! The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. They also have water, coffee, and cookies at check in times (3-5 PM) as well as coffee in the morning before the restaurant opens. The only terrible thing was the air conditioner in our room (and we did tell the owner). It kept turning on and off every 30 seconds, and when it did turn on it was so loud and while on it would vibrate so loudly! No matter what we tried, we could not make it stop. Ultimately at midnight we shut it off and opened the one other window in the room. They did say maintenance would check it out. But, it's good to keep in mind if you are checked into room 110, or any other. Check the A.C. first!

The staff was awesome. We could not do stairs so he did everything he could to move us downstairs. He helped bring our luggage to our room. The free breakfast was amazing. Not your usual buffet. Individually cooked for you. The antiques around the place felt “ homey” Definitely a do over!!!

Location was the main draw, and I got a super deal through Expedia. An older property with a rustic feel, yet right on (and set back from) Rte 16, combining quiet and convenience. Desk was supposed to be open until 9 and it was not when I arrived at ~ 8 pm but they had keys waiting and a # for me to call and it went smoothly.

The inn was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the rustic feel to the rooms. I felt like I was in a cabin tucked away in the woods. There is a river access and it's great for a walk.

The rooms were clean and adequate, however, there are no coffee makers. And the air conditioning unit in the window sounded like a jet plane it was soooo loud, and cycled on and off all night!! Awful. The worst part was the breakfast food. How do you make horrible tasteless blueberry pancakes in Maine?! Nothing had any seasonings…
