The Green Granite North Conway, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Had a nice experience overall. The lobby was spacious and welcoming, parking was free and easy, and the room was super clean with good shower pressure and soft towels. The area around the hotel has plenty of shopping and dining options, and I liked the in-room amenities—mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The indoor heated pool and hot tub were perfect, and the hot breakfast was awesome, with eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, milk, juice, coffee, fruit, toast, and bagels. Really nice staff lady during breakfast. Only a couple of small issues: the guy at reception was friendly but couldn’t find anyone to help fix our TV, and the room could use a bit more lighting. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Comfortable. Was out of towels when went to get replacement. Nice to have a contienental breakfast. Kids loved pool. Pool walls had mold on it.

Friendly staff. Really nice big room although older. Being older the lighting in it was horrible okay when we left the drapes open but once it got dark hard to see and felt a little dismal. The pool and hot tub were very good and the breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect right by a lot of things ( attractions restaurants stores)

Let’s see….1. We booked one night and then added 4 additional nights. We were asked to check out and move rooms which did not make sense to me. All the rooms are the same, except some have 2 beds. We packed everything up and received a call that it was ok to stay in the same room. 2. We received a call from my parents a few days later, who said that the property did not have them staying and asked them to check out ASAP. We were out enjoying our day and I had to stop, pull up the reservation and send it to my parents who showed the front desk. 3. The last 2 days there was NO HOT WATER! 4. The indoor pool was closed our entire stay because a child vomited in the pool area. Which also meant no hot tub either. 5. The room was musty and we went out to the patio and there were 2 empty hard liquor bottles on our patio. 6. The front desk clerks were very nice and helpful. 7. The coffee was really good and the breakfast was not bad, except the way they served Canadian bacon. Ewww.

The property was dated and required a good cleaning. The balcony was good, it would be better with a working light and perhaps a table for the drinks. Pool was down for routine repair(normal) but received no advanced notice. Three pieces of equipment in the gym room was out of order and the two peloton bikes with no subscription for use.

This place served it's purpose. We only spent one night just to rest our heads between hikes. Decent indoor pool, and we enjoyed the hot tub. Easy walk to Settlers Green for shopping. We were told our room was in "the new building." I'm not sure how new, but the room could use a little sprucing up. Maybe new showerheads and floors. The woman who checked us in was lovely. Very friendly.

Our second stay here. It's located not too far from Storyland which was our reason for the trip, but it is located near a couple shopping areas and a grocery store - perfect for those with littles. We were only there for a short time so weren't able to take advantage of the playground, or the outdoor and indoor pools.

Having 2 pools for kids was great

Stayed for one night. The hotel room itself was very large and spacious. Unfortunately the carpet throughout the room was completely filthy and almost felt slimy under my feet. After walking around the room with freshly cleaned feet from showering, I realized the bottoms of my feet were black from whatever grime was on the carpet. I made everyone in my family walk around in their shoes from that point on. In addition, the plastic blinds in the room had whole pieces missing or broken in half. The rolling desk chair seat covering was ripped and torn, exposing a large portion of the foam seat. The only saving grace for this property is that the location is extremely convenient. They need to do a major renovation of the rooms, in my opinion. If they do, this hotel has potential. However, I doubt I will be staying here again, as it just felt really run-down and poorly maintained.

The room wasn’t very clean. I found 2 used cups behind the night stand, they were obvious, so I don’t understand if it was cleaned why weren’t they found. Also I had to wipe down the nightstand because it had cup rings that were sticky. The bathroom floor had dirt by the bathtub. The bed was very squeaky, just getting in and out of it,

While the staff was kind and helpful, the cleanliness of the hotel was appalling. Immediately after checking into our room, we were greeted with a red substance that resembled blood on the bathroom floor and what appeared to be black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The amenities at the time of our arrival were not all accessible and the breakfast was an assortment of warmed up frozen breakfast foods. While the location was convenient, due to the current state of the hotel, I would not stay here again.

Beds were okay, sheets were clean. The bathroom was a little gross, I had to ask the front desk for Lysol wipes because around the toilet it was definitely dirty. The floor is also clearly had not been cleaned. Well, our baby was crawling, and his clothes were filthy after just crawling in the hotel room. The people who worked there were all very friendly, the breakfast was fine, especially for the price, but they definitely need to hire a better cleaning crew.

I stayed for 1 night in room 13... Bathroom was disgusting. Bath and toilet haven't beem cleaned at all and the toilet paper roll was empty. There was mold in the bathtub ceiling. Bed wasn't comfortable at all. There was also a weird smell in the room. Don't trust the pictures of the rooms, they don't look alike.

Very deceived by photos of property and rooms as compared to reality. Rooms had paint peeling from doors and walls, holes behind doors. Floors and carpets were dirty - no idea if or when they were vacuumed or cleaned last - smelled bad as well. Random bugs flying around and in bathroom. Hair found in shower and in bedding. Needed to call housekeeping to have bed linens changed. They were stained with various things. Pillows were yellowed and just gross. I had made the reservation with rooms on second floor and were given bottom floor by as we were told, management’s decision - would have looked for another place to stay had I known that. Did not check out the breakfast buffet. I figured if they couldn’t clean the rooms, imagine how dirty the kitchen must be. Overall very disgusted with whole experience.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty, outdated, and had an unpleasant odor that resembled mold and dirty laundry. The tub was also dirty, which made the bathroom feel unsanitary. The furniture was very old, the room was poorly lit, and overall the space felt neglected. For the price I paid, the quality was unacceptable—I truly felt overcharged. On top of that, both the vending machines and ice machine were out of order. The photos online are very misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. I would not recommend staying here.

We enjoy our annual stay at the GGI. This year was a biy dissapointing in that the room was not properly cleaned. First, no toilet paper. Second, side table covered in duet. Thjrd, leftocer drink in fridge.

We have been going to this hotel for years- Emily at the front desk was a delight, so friendly and helpful! Our room was not well cleaned, we found several items on the floor including peanuts, as well as trash in the trash can under the bag.

Safety os a joke.the hallwaydoors are kept inlocked. The room had no chain. And the door going to outside had seemed easily openable. So you sleep between ² easy access points. Every sheet and pillow case had some type of stain on it. Most surfaces are dusty. Bathroom shower toilet room had mold. Not properly swept or cleaned. I had tk scrub the shower with lysol wipes and it atill had scum. The towels and shower curtain had stains. You have to go at breakfast time to get normal sized towels and to have the room cleaned. Dont miss the sighn at check in or you will annoy the front sdesk person. The heater is super loud and not efficient at all. When i tried tk mention theses things i got an ooo ok and an eye roll. We got a feal and got what we paid for! Never again!

Room smells like smoke, for a non smoking room. Not good

The wifi didn't work at all in the room and nowhere in the hotel. Very disappointing, as we needed the wifi. This will definitely be our last time at this place.

Booked a room that didnt have a fridge or microwave! So loud!

Indoor and outdoor pools seemed very clean, though we did not use them. Basic breakfast included. The hotel definitely needs updating. However, the beds were comfortable, the linens were clean, but they could use a refresher on design. Our room had a distinct odor in it. We discovered it was coming from a dated air purifier that was running in the room, at least that’s what we thought the machine was. Once we turned it off, it was fine with a little touch of Febreeze added. Ice machines were inconveniently located from where our room was, none available in our part of the building. The hotel is located within walking distance to many retail shops and a grocery store which is a plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, for the price point it wasn’t bad, we would stay there again.

We had fairly low expectations based on prior reviews and those expectations were met. Bed was fairly comfortable and very loud whenever someone moved at all. TV was tiny and far across the room. Bunks were nice for the kids this a long with location was why we ultimately chose this hotel. It was very loud at night someone was playing loud music in the parking lot. The exterior of the building was also quite dirty and unkempt in the halls and stairwells. Breakfast was ok. We probably wouldn't stay here again.

The room had poor lighting, and we stayed in a two-bed unit with an outside entrance. The shower pressure was excellent, the bathrooms were nice, and the beds were comfortable. However, there were only two chairs at the table, even though the room could accommodate four people, which didn’t make sense to me. The heater functioned well, but it made an unpleasant noise.

While the room was clean it was lacking tissues and the bathroom light was dim. The bathroom fan also didn’t work. The WiFi was essentially nonexistent. It didn’t work to actually run anything in the lobby or in our room. The little signal showed up on my iPad but I couldn’t even check my email with it and had to use my mobile hotspot on my cellphone. The location of the inn is very convenient and the bed was comfortable so while I’m not sure I’d stay there again it had a couple of pluses.

Floor torn up in the room, fan in bathroom didn’t work, 2 stained cigarette burns at the edges of the sink. The toilet seat was loose and crooked. I don’t think the bathroom floor was ever cleaned in the corners. Very dark in the room, 1 small light on an end table. The door looked like it was broken in to. A sheet for a comforter? The price was right and now I know why!

We waited almost an hour in line to check in on day one at the front desk. The staff person checking us in was very kind and apologetic but the line to check in was massive. The room was deceiving as upon walking in as initially it was spacious and a comfortable temperature. After spending some time there I was unimpressed. The mattress protectors on both the queen bed and bunk beds were stained all over. The queen bed had the thinnest comforter on top, but the bed itself was comfortable. The tub wasn’t very clean and the towel rack was practically hanging off of the wall in the bathroom. The TV was not usable as it wouldn’t connect to the internet. When I tried to call for support, the phone in the room also did not work and there was no dial tone. I called from my cell phone and was told a maintenance person would come work on the TV for us. Three days later no one showed. Some great things about our stay included the amenities. The continental breakfast was awesome as well as the outdoor pool and playscape. The indoor pool and hot tub were out of commission this week unfortunately (not sure why). The location was also amazing as it was so close to all restaurants and attractions we were visiting for.

It was a convenient location and good price. I had requested adjoining rooms or two rooms side by side but when we arrived they didn’t have them and I ended up on another floor. Only 1 outlet worked in the room. They were either loose where the plugs just fell out or didn’t work at all.

I got to the property and they sent us to a room that was already occupied. So then I had to go back to the front desk and let them know. They informed me that they had computer problems and could not find a room. So we did not stay. But we're charged anyway. Even after being told we would have a refund. Do not stay here.

We did not want breakfast. The staff was so kind and helpful.

Our experience at this hotel was absolutely awful. We arrived at 6:30 PM for our room. We were told the room was not cleaned yet and we would receive a call within an hour. We returned to the hotel at 9PM and our room was still not ready. We waited until 10PM to get checked into our room - which upon arrival had a ball of hair in the bathtub and 5 ladybugs on the ceiling. The front staff informed us to come back to the desk in the morning to speak with a manager regarding our check in and reimbursement, but no one was present at the desk in the morning. This service was ridiculous, there were no accommodations prepared for those who had to wait and none of our concerns were handled. We were informed a manager would reach out and have received nothing. The money spent at this stay was not worth it and I would like to get a reimbursement for the cost.

Front desk person was rude and dismissive. Not willing to help at all. Cancelled 3 night stay. Will not consider this place in the future

We didn\'t actually stay at the Green Granite Inn despite our friends staying there. We booked our room on April 29th for 8/3/24. We showed up at check in time and the very rude front desk woman told us she had no room for me despite my confirmation from Expedia. She offered me nothing other than that i should call Expedia. I asked why they didnt call me. She shrugged. "They didn\'t?". I asked why would i be there after a three hour ride if they called me and told me there was no room. The front desk woman was the antithesis of what you would expect in a front facing customer service type job. She offered me no help, no suggestions. Just her rude abhorrent behavior. Not even an apology. That was the kicker. How do you work a front desk in a hotel without the ability to be nice and apologize to a person who has stayed at your property at least three times previously.? Our friends stay too. Expedia finally fixed the problem after a full hour on the phone with them. I was hung up on twice but by my third phone call i found someone kind. It was very distressing. We lost dinner reservations because I had to spend over a full hour of my weekend away on the phone trying to find a place to stay. Avoid the Green Granite if you dont want to ruin your vacation or weekend away, especially if they dont tell you until you actually show up at the property. Don\'t expect them to figure that out until you are actually standing in front of them. Then they will be rude.

Booked room approximately three months ago with Hotels.com. They called me the day we were supposed to arrive and said they had no room for us. I had to suggest what is their contingency plan and I had to ask them if they had any other rooms available. Was not handled well at all.

Clean, easy access to restaurants and shopping centers

The room was larger than most. Been upgraded recently. The hallways need some fresh paint. The lobby is very nice, People were very nice and helpful. They have kidney shaped indoor pool and a hot tub. Breakfast was kind of plane. Scrambled eggs, sausage one day ham the other. Bagels, cereal, muffins, coffee, hot chocolate, orange and apple juice. No bar or restaurant if you are looking for that. Close to many attractions.

We have stayed here before and the experiences were night and day. This time around our room was not as clean as it should be, didn’t smell clean when we walked in. Usually you can smell cleaning products, we did not. It smelt like corn chips. We have young children, to me it was unacceptable to have a room that we paid for, not be cleaned properly. They were short staff. Pool was cloudy and not clear like it was last time. The lady that prepares the complementary breakfast wasn’t the friendliest to say the least. The breakfast was terrible. The first day they didn’t even have enough breakfast to serve. Was told by the lady who works in the kitchen “sorry it was a busy weekend, nothing I can do about it”. Then on another morning, my 4 year old and I walked to the breakfast room to bring back some breakfast to the room because our one year old was very fussy due to him teething, the same lady came up to me and asked “are you planning on taking that back to your room?” I said “yes” she then said “oh they don’t like you doing that anymore, it’s harder for them to clean the rooms”.. I mean seriously? The room wasn’t even clean, and people get take out all the time. How hard is it to clean the room. We were very displeased because like I said we had an amazing time the first time my family stayed here which was a couple years ago. We ended up checking out the night before we were supposed to originally check out. This time around was enough for us to not want to come back.

Overnight stay while passing through town. Hotel was suitable for one night. Definitely needs some updates but the price was right. Breakfast was included and good.

Clean room/bathroom. Friendly staff. Had to get my room key changed 4 separate times. The free breakfast was gross, pancakes were hard and rubbery, French toast the same, not much variety, juice machine not working. Could never connect to the WiFi. Rooms were dark, no lights other than a couple of lamps. I cleaned the filters for the ac which were filthy.

There are some unfair scathing reviews out there of this place but i feel like it is probably due to unfortunate one off incidents and an expectation that’s higher than is reasonable for the rate and location. we had a good stay no complaints. our stay was simple and one night but we had the very decent “free” continental b-breakfast enjoyed the pool and hot tub and our room was clean stocked had a couple queen beds full bath a patio and the staff was friendly. around $120 don’t know what else you’d want for that price in that area especially. I wouldn’t let the extreme negative reviews sway you, i had 50/50 expectations and they were far exceeded

The property is lacking grounds clean up and the room was dated. There were outlets that didn’t work and the blinds on the door were broken. There was no dish liquid to clean glasses and silverware. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The instructions written for the location of where breakfast is served was wrong on the check in document. The host cooking and prepping breakfast was very helpful and nice.

Breakfast was cold both mornings. Breakfast started at 7. One morning i was there at 715 and everything was cold

Pros: Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the king suite was much larger than expected. It was a great location, right in the heart of the outlet shopping and great restaurants. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice but could have used a better cleaning. Cons: It was outdated, one tv was not working properly, the tub (jacuzzi) was very hard to get in and out of and the water was just warm on the hottest setting, and the free breakfast was not good at all; eggs tasted like they were made from something powdered, sausage was dried out, and coffee tasted burnt.

The desk staff, Cindy and Dillon, were great! As well as morning a very good breakfast; the kitchen supervisor was also excellent in supporting my request.
