its a beautiful hotel and walkable to broadway shows, only half a block from time square. the in house restaurants are amazing especially Bond45. Staff were amazing and 6huge elevators are huge plus.

Staff was friendly and attentive. The property was incredibly convenient for walking to tourist attractions and accessing public transit. I enjoyed the opportunity to go on a walking tour and also took advantage of their wine hour. It was a lovely property.

We stay here just about every time we go to NYC. Love the hotel, the staff, the location, everything. Valet parking is totally worth it, and what other hotel can you get either a free or $7.00 breakfast? Love this place!

We were in NYC for the New York Theater Festival. The Hotel Edison is just a block from Time Square. It is an older hotel with lots of charm. The rooms are small but adequate. The room attendants are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast service was fast and efficient. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We were disappointed that there was a charge for any early check in even if it were only 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. I was impressed with the security in the lobby area. I would recommend this Hotel.

This is a full service property. Concierge, door person, car service, mutliple dining and bar options, on site convenience store, walking tours, aitring area....it's all there. Located literally around the corner from Times Square! Definitely stay again. Clean, quiet, safe, easy access to everything, including subway access. Breakfast vouchers included with stay. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Always available and keeping an eye on the property. Verification required to access majority of hotel spaces which is comforting being so close to Times Square.

We love Hotel Edison! Staff is always so welcoming, hotel is in Times Square, Theatre District but inside is so quiet. Wine and cheese from 4-6. Bilingual staff, several restaurants, complimentary grab n go breakfast. We definitely will return

The breakfast was a grab and go selection. Was adequate. We did not try the bar. We ate at the restaurant on site and food was good. We got our food fairly quick. Service was good. All staff at the hotel were friendly. Plenty of people around for safety and security at this hotel.

From beginning front desk to end bellman, EVERYONE was great. This is my favorite hotel in NYC for location - the back entrance is perfect - and the great staff are unmatched. Rooms are quiet and comfortable, well-kept, and there are plenty of elevators and they WORK. This hotel is in the very heart of the theatre district so no cabs needed unless leaving the Times Square area. I miss the full breakfast option rather than grab-and-go, but the partnership with Carve is nice. I will be back!

Beautiful hotel, great features for us. We loved: The vicinity to EVERYTHING! The grab and go breakfast The onsite food/beverage options The staff. And every single one we encountered was kind, talkative, and really helpful! The valet and parking. -The parking is fairly priced BUT you can park for 24 hours. We checked out, stored our luggage and went and did the hop on hop off bus before we went back and got our car and luggage to head out. The only negative: We had been awake nearly 36 hours and unfortunately that was apparently window washing night, two hours after we fell asleep, we were woken up by power washers, very loud noises, movement as well as a person/people outside of our window. The hotel was very apologetic and I realize this was just an unfortunate event. All in all, great stay! We will be back!

Nice hotel. Clean. Super close to Times Square and many theaters. Felt safe in the area. Downside... we were on the fourth floor and noise from the street, the pedicabs and traffic was overwhelming. So very loud at night. And the only complaint was that our room did not have a full length mirror (only the one above the bathroom sink), no coffee maker nor a fridge.

Upon check in found out the sink was clogged, had to ask for someone to fix that. First night about to go to bed and found the fitted sheet had blood stains, cannot believe how the housekeeper could not see that when she made the bed. Since it was so late at night we just had to use the top sheet at the bottom and remove that stained sheet. The next morning when it was brought up to the receptionist she didn’t seem too concerned nor offered anything to make up for that really horrible inconvenience. Location was great but cleaning needs to be done more thoroughly.

Our bathroom was very dirty so they offered us a "suite upgrade" it was not. The bathroom was SOOOO small with one 1 outlet. Very old and the improvements (caulk, trim work) looked like a 4 year old did them. Black grime on mirror. Used contact on tile wall. Mirror on door was filthy.

Great location, great food at both restaurants, and excellent customer service. Rooms were small even for NY and the carpet in the rooms is in dire need of a good cleaning. Beds were super clean and comfy. Not much room in the bathroom for toiletries. (We had the basic, cheapest room). Windows had been painted shut. Cool historic property.

This property is well located and that’s the best feature however our room was very small for occupancy of 4 people: no single seat, no fridge, very small bathroom, no space to put your belongings in the room (just a really small closet). Staff was nice at the front desk. The property is old but well maintained however I do think the air conditioning unit can be upgraded because it stopped working during our stay and it was very loud (60 db). The free breakfast was a grab and go breakfast that was given to us by staff with attitude. Again, no place in the room to eat it and you have to find place in the hotel or outside (time square area…) to eat it. The security, maintenance and valet was 10/10 in this hotel.

The staff was phenomenal. The room was okay. The noise was awful. No noise proofing - we slept on the second floor and the honking and noise kept us up all night. I have stayed in Times Square before and expect noise, but other hotels have done more to sound proof. This was so loud we barely slept. But we loved the breakfast option and again, the staff was so wonderful. Location is amazing.

Location is really good if you want to be near Times Sq and Broadway. The grab & go breakfast at Bond45 was also a great value. The room was clean and the queen beds were comfortable, but there was little room for anything else. The bathroom was small but nice enough, though the shower did not have a door. Overall I would stay here again if I wanted to be in this part of the city.

Location is great but very busy; the lobby is usually chaotic during the day with large groups for the walking tour. The room (signature king suite) was decent size but tight for a family of 4. The air conditioning was ABSURDLY LOUD. Bathroom design was plain dumb; without a shower door, water must flow straight down to avoid water spraying all over the floor and the frosted pocket door provided very little privacy. Only one towel hook resulted in new towels every day. The room could have been cleaner upon check-in; there was a lot of hair on the sofa that hadn’t been vacuumed. The pullout bed was angled improperly forcing us to sleep backwards on it. The free grab n go breakfast at the hotel was “meh” but the options down the block at Carve were better. We probably would not choose to stay here again.

Cleanliness was very good no problem there. We did not appreciate the sign in process, too long of a line and our processing was not smooth. They said the number I had from hotels.com was invalid,the man was a bit surly also.

Fantastic staff. Melissa and Jennifer were superb at the front desk. Extremely helpful and efficient. Bobby and Cristopher are outstanding doormen. Great housekeeping staff.

Everything was wonderful. The biggest thing that stood out was the staff’s customer service. I will definitely return to stay here again! Special thank you to the concierge Tommy for helping with storing our bags.

It was an outstanding check in and an outstanding check out!! The services were excellent. I will be back for sure. My only place to stay from now on!! Bobby was great with the bags on the outside. Very convenient to Times Square and theaters. Many places to eat!! Just have fun and very safe.

Reception/front desk people were rude. They looked so unhappy in what they do. They should not be working in a position where they meet a lot of people, since it looked like they did not like their job. Very rude! After being rude, they ask you to give them a good rating. Funny.

Overall the Edison was a great hotel. My wife and I went with some friends for an anniversary trip. The hotel was very clean and most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. It has a great 20's vibe with the decor and atmosphere. The restaurants and bars were very good and if you want to venture out it is in an excellent location with lots of top notch food in the area. Unfortunately there were a few issues that would keep me from giving this hotel 5 stars. First, the room needs a mini fridge. With all the great restaurants in the area we wanted to bring leftovers back to savor later and couldn't. It would also be great to have a cold bottle of water handy. Second, they are very strict & Inconsistent with the checkin/out policy. We arrived early and attempted to check in and were told it would be a $65 charge for the early hour. Our friends at the other end of the desk were given their room right then. When asking about a late check out we we were told it was also an exorbitant fee. Lastly, check out is listed as 12:00. We were up early and went out for some last minute site seeing. We arrived back to the hotel to check out at 11:45 to find that our room keys had already been deactivated so we couldn't use the elevator or get into our room to retrieve our bags. Again, overall a great hotel and would stay again. Just a few things that would really put it over the top.

The hotel is in a great location and easy to commute on the subways. The restroom is very small but overall the bed and pillows were very comfortable . We enjoyed the free gran and ho breakfast sandwiches they were delicious . The employees were very friendly and helpful . It was two blocks away from watching the Macy’s thanksgiving parade. There’s an open 24 hours pizza place at the corner that has delicious pizza . We loved this hotel and we highly recommend it.

Hotel was great. Location was perfect. Access to subway was easy in all directions. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants in the heart of Times Square. I liked how they checked room keys in order to enter elevators. We had breakfast vouchers which made breakfast affordable each morning. Check in and check out were easy. The best thing is definitely the location right next to Time Square. Otherwise the hotel is pretty basic for a 4 star hotel and based on my previous experiences in New York, I was expecting more. I was a bit disappointed that the free breakfast means grab-and-go croissant, yoghurt and juice. When paid extra 6,5$ per person, we could sit down and have one thing from the list. The room was a bit old and not the cleaniest, but the bed was very comfortable and the staff mostly nice.

Theming, on-site dining options, and location were awesome! One exit is less than a minute walk to Time Square, and the other exit opens to the Hamilton Theater! Daily breakfast vouchers options were unexpectedand such a treat! There were grab and go, as well as $6.50 sit down full breakfast options. Bond 45 (Italian restaurant on-site) and Anita's Gelato (right next to the Bond 45 street entrance) are must do's!! The staff is incredible and made sure we had an amazing vacation. We will stay here again!

The breakfast was a grab and go selection. Was adequate. We did not try the bar. We ate at the restaurant on site and food was good. We got our food fairly quick. Service was good. All staff at the hotel were friendly. Plenty of people around for safety and security at this hotel.

The only hotel that our family will stay at in NYC. We came in late from a long day of travel and both David and Angelique went above and beyond to make us comfortable in our rooms with their friendly and welcoming personalities as they checked us in. And lovely Mohammed visiting us after our check in to make sure all was well. The personal attention and warmth that this hotel is second to none and our family is beyond grateful for the excellent service, stay and experience. We look forward to coming back again soon and seeing this wonderful staff!
