Really nice stay. Hotel has a lovely art deco theme and is really conveniently located - we were able to walk everywhere. The grab and go breakfast is very good and handy. The room is small but comfortable. The gym was very small and would be difficult if more than two people were in it. Staff made you feel very welcome and gave a personalised performance.

No Expedia upgrade given. Gym is very small with only 3 cardio machines and very few weights. Only two mats so if 3 people are in the room, it’s a struggle. Breakfast is basic and limited. Everything is bite size. Elevator is slow and sounds old like it needs maintenance. Rooms are very small and tight. Room requests for refilling shower gel and shampoo was not done. I travel 6 months a year and stay in over 20 hotels around the world. If I could have got a refund I would have checked out as soon as I checked in and saw the room. I was not impressed. For a NYC hotel just off 5th Avenue, Evelyn Hotel should do better. Staff was great and accommodating. I requested a late check out and that was given for 1pm and for that, I’ll give 7/10.

Clean room, great location, very friendly and accommodating staff! Facility fee includes ‘free breakfast’ but not sure overnight oats and coffee and free water constitute $38/night. I asked for a quiet room and got one on the 10th floor. One elevator was broken all weekend which was annoying. Fixed by Monday. Overall good stay and would return.

Lovely property in ac great location. Only one working elevator. Nice breakfast. Great service from the all the staff we engaged. Swanky bar was fun. Could be a bit noisy when there’s traffic. Would stay again.

Such a Great hotel and relatively priced right. Wonderfully appointed and quality bedding pillows and great fixtures and details. Small but just enough of what you need in the city. Fantastic location, excellent service and great amenities like wine night, breakfast for guests and other services. Clean and stylish.

Loved the architectural features of the property. The bar “Tusk Bar” was great.

Valet service was a plus and staff was excellent. The suit was extremely spacious

We really enjoyed our time at the evelyn. the room was clean and so was the bathroom. the staff were friendly and helpful. they had a nice lobby area as well as a good bar and restaurant. it was also very kind for them to give us free on the go breakfast every morning. our only complaint would be the elevator, it was far too slow and I think perhaps this hotel is too big for only 2 elevators. wed deffs stay here again tho

Great stay at the Evelyn. Clean, historic hotel. The free morning breakfast is a nice perk. The free walking tours are excellent. Highly recommend in a good location.

Nice property overall and convenient to have a suite style room with sofa bed in the room. Cleanliness, while okay on the large things, was a bit disappointing. Wiping some spilled water on the floor in the room yielded a nearly blackened towel (originally white). Understand it won't be spotlessly shiny, but that level of grime and build up was not great considering we have a baby who would be crawling around and dropping things. Also, parking was $70 a night and the garage/service they use can't support EV charging which was a major bummer. We had called and they said it was available, but when we arrived they noted while it used to be available, it was no longer.

Spotless room, loved the heated bathroom floors, beautiful design, and really kind and thoughtful staff!

Clean, cute hotel in a great location. Service was excellent. My only complaint is how small the rooms are and the lack of closet space and cabinets to store clothes etc.

I travel to NYC often and was excited to try the Evelyn. I am not sure if they give the bad rooms to Hotels.com guests but it was a weird layout (bathroom door by the head of the bed), Small bathrooms (even to NYC standards) and the room was a bit dusty so the vintage charm was lost.

Very central location for exploring New York, minutes from Empire State Building and few minutes walking distance to closest subway station. Hotel was very clean (lobby smells amazing) and staff all friendly and helpful. Rooms were not the biggest but expected for New York, we managed for a week as a family with two teenagers. Bonus that a grab and go breakfast was included on your way to exploring the city.

Staff at the front desk were fantastic. Doorman were very helpful. Very very clean facility. Breakfast was great and rooms were really really clean every time.

Room was fair and minimalist. Manage expectations, as it’s an old building with tiny studio like Manhattan apartments. Lobby and customer service were great. Location is its biggest seller. Upgrade to the bed would be a substantial improvement.

The hotel is in a great location and nicely furnished. However, the walls are quite thin. We could hear the conversations between our neighbors.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful! My room was very nice. The bathroom nice and large. My only complaint would be the room was kind of dark. I had window shades to open but they opened to the interior walls of the building so it was very dark the entire time. I likened it to being in a cruise ship cabin with no windows. The free water is a bonus like no other! The breakfast vouchers also an added bonus - great coffee and food. I am sad I missed happy hour.

Bed sucked. I’m always looking or the hotel that offers decent foam mattresses. This was less than I hoped for. No foam mattress. Can’t believe guests rated the bed as comfortable

Really loved the Evelyn. The room was larger by NY standards than others we have stayed in previously. The heated floor in the bathroom was a nice addition as was the song themed tile around the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. The location is great near various subway lines and Madison Square Park with various restaurants.

The property has a cool aesthetic, with musical tiles in the bathroom and funky furniture. The rooms, however, are very loud. You can hear the shower running in the adjacent room. My room also was across from the elevator and the noise from the hallway carries. The room is also tiny.

The Evelyn is a very nice hotel in a very convenient location. The staff was extremely friendly and very efficient. Check in was smooth and quick. The room was a fair size and the beds were comfortable. Highly recommended.

Service was fantastic!

This was my second time staying at The Evelyn and it did not disappoint. Excellent service all around! Front desk staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating - especially Amal! Would highly recommend and will stay here on my next trip to NYC.

Noah up front was amazing and went above and beyond for us. He asked us why we were here and we told him it was for our anniversary and he offered us a free bottle of wine to the room.

The staff in the reception was very dry and ”mechanical” not very much of feelings or enjoying having exciting customers from all over the world

Rooms could use updating. Some of the furniture and fixtures feel old even for an art deco style. Lobby and breakfast are fantastic for NY, saves you some money. Staff can be attentive when not busy but quite dismissive at front desk otherwise. Location is amazing, walking is easy or subway options are all nearby.

Cute hotel, great location, but overall disappointed. I never do bad reviews but, alas, here's the breakdown: 1. I booked my stay here for the prime location but also based on great reviews about their cocktail bar. The hotel was hosting a wedding that weekend and the bar/restaurant was closed to the public, huge bummer. 2. I called days ahead to explain we were celebrating a birthday and to inquire about having a bottle or glass of something in the room to celebrate upon check-in (precisely to make up for the cocktail bar being closed). The man at the front desk was helpful and agreeable but when we arrived to drop off our bags prior to check-in (again, which I gave them a heads up about) they instead gave us an early check in and had no note about the birthday. I inquired again if I could purchase something to celebrate my fiancè's birthday in the room and they again agreed... and then we received nothing. 3. The "Breakfast Included" is not legitimate, they give you a voucher for the tiny cafe in the lobby that is "grab and go". I blame myself for not researching further. 4. The staff was nice even though they didn't fulfill my inquires. The room was cute but not worth the price considering it's size, uncomfortable bed, flat pillows, and terrible view (with sheer curtains). These are the times I regret going boutique and wish I had just booked the Holiday Inn (or what have you).

Good clean room, a little small. Staff was good. Location was very good with access to two subway station within two blocks, the 6 or R and W. Madison Square Park is very close. Lots of dining nearby.

We had a great stay at the Evelyn! It’s centrally located and convenient to everywhere in NYC. The hotel is delightfully decorated in deco style and our room was spacious. Free morning coffee and take away breakfast was convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

IMO this is a gem. Perfect size for quick in and out from room to street. Nice and convenient breakfast area. Plenty helpful staff. Priced right and in midtown. Room is adequate size for two, but some may want to upgrade. Do yourself a favor and skip the Museum of Sex next door; I went in and still regret it.

I like the convenient location of the hotel. The room we were in was so small that there was not adequate space to walk around the bed without banging your shin at one of the corners. The hotel is nice and very clean, but if the room was slightly larger or the bed or dresser were positioned differently, it would have made a difference.

The Evelyn was such an amazing hotel. Loved the free water bottles and free coffee and breaky in the morning. The location was amazing. Right off of 5th Ave, close to shopping and a short walk to soho and west village! Also not far from Times Square and rockafella centre! Highly reccomend!

The property was nice and the restaurants in the hotel were great. The only issues were that anytime the shower was turned on the drain pipe would smell like sewage and the cafe for the breakfast needed more options for drinks like water/not coffee.

Overall it was a good experience. At night it was still loud and the breakfast was simple but enough.

The Tusk Room on site had some of the best food we found in nyc, highly recommend. The breakfast was very convenient and welcomed. Staff extremely friendly and room very comfy and clean

Valet parking was awful, it took the an hour and twenty minutes to get our car. Staff was just ok, no sense of urgency. Restaurant is closed for breakfast. Got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich in an overcrowded cafe. Not good

Great hotel to easily get around Manhattan either uptown or downtown. Grab & go breakfast was really good with great coffee & overnight oats. Several other options too. Room as expected in NY was small but nice decor & really clean. Stayed here as a couple for 3 nights & would deffo recommend.
