Hotel Stein - Adults Only

The Stein is an amazing hotel. The staff were fantastic, the check-in couldnt have been easier. Rooms are excellent and have everything you'll need. Its location is just about perfect, putting it in walking distance of all the major attractions. There are 3 parking bays right outside the hotel to use whilst you unload your vehicle. The actual hotel car park is some 600 metres away.

We arrived late by car. There is a space just outside the entrance where you can stop for a few minutes to for a pick up or drop off. We pre-booked parking (which I recommend that you do since they only have limited parking spaces) but you have to go to the reception first. I would definitely make sure to bring any luggage and leave it with the staff while you park since the parking spaces are 500m away. The receptionist was very friendly and also managed to get us food at their restaurant even though they were close to closing. Restaurant staff was also very service minded and super friendly. The food was good, but a little pricey. Breakfast was amazing. The room was very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable beds and the shower was fantastic and big enough for two. We only stayed one night so we didn’t really explore but the location is great and I would 100% come back again.

Parkplätze sind nicht vor Ort, sondern 400m entfernt. Falls welche frei sind.

Helt fantastiskt trevligt hotell! Bara för vuxna, lugnt och skönt. Sköna sängar, bra AC, lyxig frukost om än lite dyr. Mycket trevlig personal på hela hotellet. Takbaren är magisk! Det enda negativa är parkering för i och urlastning, det finns 2 platser framför hotellet som är dåligt uppmärkta men det är det enda man kan klaga på. Hur fint och lyxigt som helst!

The hotel is in a perfect location along the river and directly across from the main entrance to the old city. Everything is walkable from the hotel. The rooftop bar/restaurant is very nice.

Excellent location and staff. Great breakfast. But the lift (elevator) gets very busy and crowded at times. Can be frustrating. Overall, I would highly recommend for a short stay.

We did a short 3 night stay and can’t fault a thing, staff, cleanliness, location facilities all great. Would highly recommend this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Parking was about 1/2 km away, it was difficult to unload baggage at the front door. The bathroom was so dark, in fact I couldn’t put my makeup on in the bathroom. The water in the morning was warm at best but in the evening was perfectly fine. The coffee maker in the room was dirty, we never drank any of it. This hotel was not a high end establishment, it was a ok but not worth the money.

Visited Salzburg for the first time in December. The hotel is in an ideal location to walk around and see the sites. The hotel is older but maintained well. The room was a bit small, but considered normal by European standards. We had medium suitcases to maneuver around. The brunch was very good!

We were incredibly disappointed with our experience at Hotel Stein. We booked specifically because of its high service ratings and promise of onsite parking. Before booking, I even called to confirm parking was available in front of the hotel overnight — and was assured it was. However, upon arrival just an hour later, we were told all the parking was full and were instructed to self-park over a mile away and walk back through the rain after a ten-hour day of travel. When I explained we had booked based on that guarantee, the front desk attendant simply said, “Sorry, I can’t help you.” Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. Our bathroom had visible black mold on the baseboards and ceiling — clear evidence of water damage that had not been properly addressed. I have a severe mold allergy and spent the night coughing, unable to sleep. We checked out first thing in the morning to avoid further exposure. When I shared our concerns with the new front desk staff, her response was completely dismissive. She offered a quick “sorry, I’ll let housekeeping know” and made no effort to apologize properly or offer any assistance. For a property that claims to be focused on service and comfort, our experience was the complete opposite. Between the misleading parking information, health hazard in the bathroom, and indifference from staff, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

The is a beautiful hotel. It was in a great location, very clean and the staff was super helpful and graceful. The products in the room was very luxurious and if it was not international travel I would buy them. Rooftop was lovely, but it rained so no outside seating. Would definitely stay again.

The perfect location for all things Salzburg. You could walk everywhere. There are tons of restaurants, bars and shopping within a few steps. The rooftop restaurant has the best views in the city! The beds are comfortable, the shower was nice and had USB/HDMI options. One thing that could be better was a smart tv in the rooms.

Great location. Rooftop terrace is lovely but the food options aren’t great and the staff are overrun. You’d also expect them to prioritise their hotel guests - they definitely don’t. Staff were lovely though. Our room view was awful - a wall. Choose the room carefully.

We won't be back next time we go to Salzburg.

Really nice facilities. Room was small and poor view. No kettle or coffee/tea facilities. Welcome was amazing, very friendly. Didn't do breakfast, we felt it was expensive. Rooftop was amazing in the evening

Wir waren im 6. Stock, direkt unter der Dachterrasse. Nachts war es dort ein bisschen laut. Das Personal war sehr nett und das Zimmer war wunderbar

Room was nice but way too hot with the radiator and little control over room temperature.

L’arrivée en voiture est compliquée si les deux places de stationnement devant l’hôtel sont occupées … L’accueil à la réception a été un peu confus : la chambre n’était pas prête et on nous a fait attendre bien plus que les 10 minutes annoncées ; la réceptionniste qui a fait le Check in a disparu aussitôt et son collègue, pourtant présent, qui nous a vu patienter longuement n’a pas cru devoir se manifester avant que je finisse par le solliciter … La chambre était magnifique avec une vue spectaculaire…mais située sous le toit terrasse avec bar ce qui la rend un peu bruyante, l’insonorisation étant loin d’être parfaite. En revanche 10/10 pour le petit déjeuner sur ce même toit terrasse (roof top) avec un personnel très accueillant qui a compensé la froideur et l’indifférence de la réception…

This was a good hotel which met my needs. It was in a great location and although we were early, they allowed us to shower which was fabulous. The staff could have been a little warmer

Wir sind spät angereist, dennoch hat uns Ahmed telefonisch freundlich zum Parkplatz gelotst und herzlich empfangen. Seine Professionalität, kombiniert mit einer außergewöhnlich hohen zwischenmenschlichen Kompetenz, ist ein wahres Aushängeschild für das Hotel Stein.

Great Location

Rooms were great the bed was so comfortable! First full nights sleep since I started traveling! Amenities … free bus passes… we went to St Gilgen and St Wolfgang for free! Excellent! Oh and location is perfect. Could be better!

Great location. Many restaurants around the area. Walkable to all tourist area and shopping area. Nice view of the Fortress, river, and mountains from our room, and from roof top bar. Nice clean room.

We were on the salzrach river across from old town Salzburg. The hotel was luxurious, the staff professional and helpful, and the room was quiet and spacious. We were never farther than a 10-15 minute walk from the places we wanted to go.

The property is beautiful and perfectly located, all the staff we encountered were absolutely amazing. The city view from the rooftop restaurant was very nice. Our only, only wish is that while at the rooftop restaurant had a slightly larger selection of dining options as it would have certainly would have given us a bit of encouragement have a few additional items, drinks and just stay and enjoy atmosphere a bit longer.

Location is convenient and the room was nice. Restaurant is entirely overpriced, understaffed and with rude employees. The included breakfast isn’t necessarily all included. Any protein they serve to you (rather than a buffet) and then ask for a tip. I would not stay here again.
