The location of the hotel is excellent for public transportation and the airport. Just wish the parking fee was included in the hotel rate and not £8/night. Other than that staff were excellent and we enjoyed our stay.

Everythings are good. Clean room, friendly staff, nice restaurant, convinent parking and it only takes around 20 minutes drive to city centre attractions. Minor drawback where the pool water are so cold and the area was not even warmed throughly. But overall its a good experience.

Reception supervisor argumentative when a receipt was requested even though payment was made direct to hotel. Eventually relented but slammed receipt on counter! Pool and Jacuzzi both out of service, advised to take it up with expedia as that is who the booking was made with. Nice room and good breakfast.

The only complaint I have is that I have received a parking fine. The lady on reception asked me my reg number but nothing else, so I presumed that meant I was ok to park for free. I have now found out that I should have paid £8 and instead have a much bigger fine to pay. This needs to be made more clear, nobody actually reads the small print on parking signs they expect a receptionist to warn you if you have to pay. Well I do anyway lol

Unfortunately the spa facilities did not work (the reason we booked this hotel!) the pool was cold (advertised as a heated pool) and had kids swimming lessons taking place every day we were there. The whirlpool was out of use the entire time. It was very disappointing. Also- if you don’t book breakfast in advance they charge you £18.50 per day (daylight robbery in my opinion- especially when their facilities didn’t work!)

We arrived at the hotel last evening and there was a Pepsi bottle in the fridge with water in it, black mold in the shower, the hair blower did not work, a fan that rattled in the room, and a towel with wrinkles that looked like it was from someone else. Completely disgusted. Have pictures if you care to reach out. Will never stay here again. Disappointed in Marriott since we have liked all their other hotels.

Stayed for one night to be close to the airport. Was given an accessible room (not required) as they were quite booked. Saddened me to see that the cleanliness was sub par, especially the bathroom. Grout, floor and area around glass tub enclosure were poorly cleaned. Positive was an excellent breakfast, both flavourful and lots of variety. Great staff and close proximity to airport bus.

This property is tired and badly in need of refurbishment. The public areas look bright and shiny but the bedrooms are dull and dark. The ensuite bathrooms are quite frankly disgusting with black mould growing on the shower screen, round the bath taps and around the top of the sinks. This was not confined to our room. Our friends had a room on another floor and it was exactly the same. I have photos but not sure if I can load them here. The shower had hardly any pressure and was more like a hand-held shower than a proper shower. The welcome we got at check in was, ‘Name?’ No pleasantries. Then she told me that breakfast wasn’t included when I knew that I had booked it. I had to log into my Expedia account to show that I had. Breakfast was ok but the standard of cleaning here was also poor with tables being set up when the tables were still covered in crumbs from the previous diners. Oh and there is a charge of £8 per day for parking. We won’t be back.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Check in was easy. Fresh water was available at the entrance and there was also a water fountain with still and spring water. Even though the hotel location was next to a busy main road, there was no traffic noise. The car park was huge. Our only issue was that we stayed 2 nights but the room wasn’t serviced. We ran out of tea and coffee for the second evening!

Likes: Swimming pool, sauna, steam Room, jacuzzi 👌 Gym & Leisure Staff Friendly 👌 Breakfast worth the extra 👌 Close to Edinburgh Gateway railway and tram station. Morrisons a 5 minute walk. McDonald's & Tesco's a 5 minute drive. Fairly good value. WiFi fairly strong everywhere. TV - you can sign in to your own streaming accounts. Enough parking, busy car park though always enough spaces for us. Dislikes: Stayed for five nights, beds never made up, bins never emptied, towels never changed. Moved rooms due to water leak on hotels request though service and communication was awful. It is as though they don't care. I understand the policy to change bedsheets and towels every three days due to environmental reasons though nothing else about not emptying bins, restocking coffee, Biscuits etc. Restaurant: All four toddler high chairs all need screws tightening as move around a lot and some screws not doing anything. I am puzzled as to why none of the staff have picked up on this and actioned as we mentioned it and swapped for a more screwed together high chair which still needed a few screws tightened. H&S?

This property is far away from city center. You have to request for your room to be serviced and even if you do submit your request it will not be cleaned or serviced. We submitted the room to be cleaned and service again to find out that they did not even replaced the almost gone toilet paper and did not take away dirty wine glasses. Expensive, not convenient and poor service.

The rooms were not cleaned on a regular basis. We complained to the front desk and they said we needed to let them know if we wanted it cleaned. We requested that the rooms be cleaned and beds made but nothing happened. It was very expensive for a hotel that does not provide this service.

We paid a lot of money for this hotel, as it had a pool and the bedroom configuration (double and 2 singles) worked for our family. The pool was closed for part of our stay which was annoying. The changing rooms were quite dirty and the whole place felt very dated. The room was ok but the bathroom was very dated and frankly pretty disgusting. The whole hotel needs a revamp. For the amount we paid (and accounting for the distance from Edinburgh city centre) I would have expected a lot better. Would not recommend.

Overall the hotel was good. The housekeeping was not good. I stayed there for 14 nights and after asking 3 times for the sheets to be changed eventually the hotel changed them on the 9th day.

Hotel was in a fantastic location for acces to Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Zoo. The bus stop is immediately outside with frequent buses. Right next to Edinburgh gateway train station for connecting from Waverley. Hotel was nicely presented, breakfast buffet was great and we made use of the bar for drinks and food. Room I would say was standard, nothing more fancy than a Premier Inn, the room was also very cold, no matter how much we turned up the heater. I slept in my jumper the second night.

Great stay for a family of four. Easy to get into Edinburgh on the train or bus. Short bus journey to the zoo. Plenty of choice at breakfast in a pleasant room. Poor lighting in room, no main light only lamps. Bathroom slightly small and in need of an upgrade.

Room was spacious and the beds were very comfy. Room temp was easily set to perfection. Water pressure was a bit low and the shower setting a bit finicky so i had to set it for the kids. Breakfast was really good. Great selection and great taste.

The air conditioner only blew hot air. After conversations with reception and maintenance, the issues were know well before we checked in. If we had known immediately we could have made other arrangements. Reception promised a fan and a portable A/C unit, however after an hour of waiting only a fan showed up and the maintenance person said they never have had portable air conditioner units. Maintenance issues I understand, but the deliberate false statements are cause for this review.

Hotels was generally ok but the air conditioning in the room didn't work so.it was very warm. Also,we got to the hotel before the 3pm check in only to be told that none of the rooms were available before 3pm. I then asked to check in before the room was available but I couldn't do that. The receptionist had no flexibility to deal with a customers need.

Booked a double/king room but was given an accessible room with two singles pushed together. When I asked to change, reception said they were fully booked. I checked online and saw double rooms still available for that night. Only after pointing this out did the receptionist suddenly “find” a room. Very disappointing and dishonest service.

There was a very long queue to check in and not enough staff! It was also VERY VERY SLOW, staff didn’t apologise for keeping guests waiting! Worse - after all that the key fob given didn’t work!! Tried to telephone and NO ONE ANSWERED. So had to go down to reception again int the long queue to get a new key.

Last but not least, front desk reaction to the problem is very poor, we have 2 young kids wrapping in towels, waiting for room change, and they couldn’t solve the problem right away, we waited 30 mins for another room.

Very pleasant stay. The hotel is handy for the airport and has two tram stops in a short walk to get into the city. We were in town for the rugby at Murrayfield and it’s a short hop to the stadium from the hotel! We would definitely visit again if in Edinburgh.

The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They are very kind. The breakfast is quite good. The hotel is a bit far from the city center (about 20 minutes by bus), but it doesn’t really matter — it’s well connected. There’s a bus stop just a few minutes from the hotel, and you can choose from several bus lines. It’s also very well connected to the airport. It’s clean, although there’s room for improvement. The pool, sauna, gym, and jacuzzi are perfect after spending the whole day out. The hotel restaurant has an outdoor area where you can enjoy some drinks, and it’s very pleasant at night — as long as it doesn’t rain! :) The worst thing about the hotel is that it needs renovation. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, and the furniture is outdated.

We visited Edinburgh for my husband's birthday. We were welcome in the room with a nice happy birthday card and some cake. Breakfast was full of options and the morning manager( blue suit and glasses) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Check in when we arrived was also very good and the boy Adam from breakfast. We do recommend it .

So the hotel would have got five stars, but there were two major problems. The first was they put me in a room next to heavy construction taking place, and so my room was unusable for one full day. The second is the pate starter I had cost £10 there was maybe £1 of ingredients in what was delivered, very, very, very poor value for one, it was a micro amount of pate and is a micro bread roll cut in half.

Friendly welcome at check in. Lovely spacious room with a wonderful separate bath and shower. Good breakfast although as in most hotels that don’t provide table service to order the “hot” food becomes cold very quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals within the bar. Efficient checkout. Will certainly return.
