Centre location and cosy house. Friendly staff. When we arrived the window could not close. Bed just under window, so we could have become sick. It took 2 staff-visits in the room to find way to close the window and shut the freezing cold wind out. We found a toe-nail in the bed-linen...

Great location….we walked almost everywhere. The reception is in a “living room” and they are there 24 hours. I like that your room key is needed to gain access to the building. If you arrive early your luggage is “stored” in this living room. Basically just put in a corner of the living room so not totally safe if staff leave reception desk. I requested a ground floor room so we wouldn’t have to carry our heavy luggage but our room was in the other building so we would have had to take it down a flight of stairs, through the small breakfast room and up a flight of stairs. But when I mentioned this to reception staff he kindly opened the exterior door of the other building only to get our luggage in and out. Every other time we had to go down and up. The room itself was ok but view was not nice. Window opened but no screen so we did not leave it open. No A/C but the fam was sufficient as it was cool while we stayed there. Washroom was tiny with no counter space and they gave soap, body wash, shampoo and cookies/tea supplies. The safe was broken and they offered to store our belongings at reception but we did not use that. The bed was a small double, the mattress was hard and pillows were flat. We only slept there so we made do as other hotels were priced significantly higher. Breakfast is included in the tiny crowded breakfast room which we only had maybe 3 times of our 9 nights. They offered boiled eggs, croissants, bread (gluten free too), cereals, teas, coffee, juice

When I first arrived, there was a sign directing me to the hotel next door to check-in. Apparently, there was only one person running reception for both hotels. If you were checking in at any point between 7am and 11pm, you had to go to the hotel next door. Both hotels were under renovation, which was not mentioned before. The advertised bag storage was an open closet that had no way to actually secure the bags there. Finally during check-in, the very pleasant receptionist said to drop my bag off and then come back to sign some paperwork - not a problem. Within five seconds of unlocking the door, I opened the door and it slammed into the table they placed behind it and stumbled over the flooring in the room. The flooring was installed without something to compensate for the fact that it sticks up enough to catch someone's foot. The room was unacceptable - the light's lampshade wasn't placed correctly and was skewed, the bed had no fitted sheet on it, the headboard was unattached, the bathroom had black spots on the wall, the cabinet holding the sink was deteriorating and was bubbled up from water damaged, the closet door was warped because of the safe that kept it from closing properly, and the worst thing was the door hidden behind a curtain. No where did it say on the listing nor was I told that my room would have a door leading outside; as a solo traveller, that's a huge security issue for me. I was only checked in for an hour before leaving for another hotel.

The single bed was comfortable and, despite the room looking out on to Gower Street, it was quiet at night. Breakfast was a little disappointing, having just returned from a hotel in Belgium I had slightly higher expectations of what constitutes a Continental breakfast. A choice of bread rolls would be preferable to rather poor quality sliced bread. Coffee that had been allowed to go cold was less appealing than the Nescafe in the room.

No elevator. The room is too small. Other than that, everything is good.

Clean, good stafff, well located, bit of small pokey building so lots of little corridors and stairs, tv didnt work in my room, but I was comfortable and not too hot, so it was all OK.

The hotel has minimum staffing and couples up with the hotel next door which at first was daunting. However the breakfast was laid out, the room was clean and the facilities were good for my requirements. Excellent location and a well functioning hotel. Some of the decor is tired particularly the carpets but generally a good hotel.

The hotel was a great location and clean. However the hotel states it has 24/7 reception- there was no one there when I checked in or out. My window would not close and no hot water for a shower in the morning.

Incredible value for money. Much better than I was expecting for what I paid. Clean, tidy and comfy. Price included breakfast which I thought would be very basic but was actually very good. Will definitely use again when I'm in London.

The whole building needs refurnished. The windows are so old and single glazed, they’re crumbling. The net curtains were absolutely filthy. We paid for a double room and what we had was 2 singles pushed together, making for a very uncomfortable and restless trip for me and my partner. Breakfast was poor I do think at the price hot food should be available and if they refurbished it could be done. The only positive I could say was it was in a good location but that’s the only positive. The place needs refurbished and cleaned throughly.

The location is amazing, near Convent Garden at walking distance and near main transports and shop, nevertheless in a quiet street. Hotel room and shower is super clean and quiet. Staff extremely nice. Breakfast is nice. The room's size is as shown in the pictures. Good value for money.I highly recommend.

Find for a place to stay for the basic necessities, in a good position. Nice that breakfast was included in the price, it’s basic but good added value. My room was a single room, single bed, and after the first night I was feeling very itchy. Asked them to do a deep clean of the room and was much better the other nights.

The room is like a box room also its very dirty, I recommend hotel .com take this hotel off their list, I stayed in many hotels in London over the yeras but this hotel was horrible, the bathroom is very dirty the bed was dirty aswell.

It was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. However, my room was on the ground floor near reception and the entrance, which made it quite noisy due to guests coming and going. On my first night, I was woken at around 2am by loud conversations at reception. When I went to check, I found it was the night receptionist chatting with their counterpart from the neighbouring hotel. The receptionist apologised profusely, but as noise travelled easily, I decided to buy earplugs for my second night. Thankfully, this solved the problem, and I was not disturbed again. The continental breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options, including toast, pastries, meats, cheese, eggs, vegetables, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juice, and water. The breakfast room itself is quite small, with perhaps one too many tables squeezed in, but as it wasn’t overly busy during my stay, this wasn’t an issue. The staff were very polite and professional. When my room was serviced after the first night, it was done beautifully. Overall, a very good stay, and I would consider returning—though I’d request a room away from reception next time!

We stayed for 1 night using it as our base. The hotel was clean, fresh bedding and towels. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice, just simple cereal toast ect. All fresh and plenty. For what we paid it was good.

Friendly staff and in a good location but the hotel in general was worn out and not very clean. The room I stayed in was badly decorated, had a smelly shower drain and wasn't very clean. I cut my stay short by one night due to this.

I asked about airport transportation and the guy at the front desk said he didn’t know. Wouldn’t a hotel that hosts international tourists know something like this? -the room is a hot box, even with the small fan they give. I was there in October and I cannot imagine how hot it is in there in the summer -the Wi-Fi is terrible. It won’t stay connected -the TV only offers cable channels, none of the apps work -really small rooms, we were only 2 people and it was tight. -shower is tiny and water pressure sucks -no dresser in the room, just an odd wardrobe -lots of stairs and no lift so if you are in the top floors you’ll have to carry luggage

I had to change the initial room because the sink was blocked. And the second room had the same problem. The room is super small and it is inhuman to call such a box a room and to pay normal market price as if it is a normal room. In the first room I had half squaremeter to move and in the second room I haf only 1,5 squaremetrr. It is really insane.

The hotel is close to Goodge underground. The staff allowed me to check in early. That's it for the good news. The room was very very small - barely large enough for the bed and no space for a chair. There was no air con and no fan - the window, opening onto a busy road, was propped open with a length of 2x4 (wood). The shower room was tiny and the water pressure non existent. Very expensive for a poor night sleep in a hot cramped room on a noisy road. I would avoid if possible

Shower didn’t work. I was told the boiler was broken. However even when that was fixed the thermostatic mixer shower did not work. Room is very small. Room G3 WiFi did not work, kept dropping out. Room used to be a corridor and has been made into a bedroom.

The hotel is fine. The rooms are small, which is to be expected. It's also hot and stuffy, which is something to bear in mind as summer approaches. They need to add plugs nearer to the bed and USB outlets would also be nice. The shower and bathroom are fine.

Room tiny could even put arms out stretched as touched both walls!!, very stuffy and hot with no air even though there was a fan that I had to have on constantly. Had to leave a day early as couldn't bear another night there. Would not recommend one bit

Réceptionniste took more than 15 min to make my key!!!! He didn’t explain anything. No communication. No heading in the room with -4 degrés outside. Very bad service. Get away from this place

Decent hotel, good bed, bad shower. Booked late checkout and both cleaner and front desk came knocking earlier due to miss communication within service team. Not own reception, share with other hotell. They apologized for wrongdoing. After coming home and clearing my travelbag im missing some Currency of roughly 60£, didnt wanna believe it but after looking through all options theres only one left, which makes me have to say i believe they were taken in my room.

Lovely stay ay The Cavendish, bonus was the continental breakfast which was included in the price. Room & bathroom clean & spacious. Nice touches were biscuits on the tea/coffee tray, hot chocolate & decaff coffee were available from the breakfast room. Staff friendly & helpful, quick & easy check in, walking distance to stations & attractions, would definitely stay sgain.

The hotel was a great location and clean. However the hotel states it has 24/7 reception- there was no one there when I checked in or out. My window would not close and no hot water for a shower in the morning.

The manager , Sala, was very kind and helped with my bags. He arranged for me to have a ground floor room. I use a cane and it is difficult for me to climb stairs. Hotel Cavendish is located across the street from Waterstones book store which has a very good cafe and wonderful books.

I would strongly recommend the hotel for people who don’t wish to drop $350 a night on a room. It’s Central London, so there will be racket day and night. The best part is that you’re within walking distance of NG, NPG, Trafalgar Square, BM, and BL

The hotel was very convenient for travelling around central London .All the staff we encountered could not have been more friendly or helpful. There was an excelent choice of things for a continental breakfast including gluten free.

Souless stay...no one speaking to you at breakfast. I use the term breakfast lightly...tinned peaches and a hard bolied egg and toast. That's your lot. Room was absolutely awful....too hot basement room with no view whatsoever...except the mop and bucket that the cleaner had left out in the rain. Trust me...give this place a wide berth...I will!!!!!!!

For a budjet London it was ok, the room was clean enough and it felt safe both in the hotel and around the area. Only access was with your key card which kept other people out. Staff were ok, but a little chilly at breakfast in their approach. Breakfast was basic, boiled egg, cheese, cereal and tea and coffee. Good choice of alternative milks though. I'm not one to complain as I appreciate I read the reviews before booking so wasnt overwhelming suprised. Not likely to be staying again.
