Was not warned about ongoing construction work until check in. We were told that it would be between 1000 and 1600hrs. It was so loud during the day that it was impossible to make or receive calls in the room. What’s more work started, albeit a bit quieter, before 0830hrs on the Saturday morning- waking us up earlier than intended after a flight back from the Caribbean.

Great hospitality and people. The bartenders in the front lounge was not the friendliest, but otherwise everyone is exceptional Only negative I can think of is the elevators. One was out of order and the other one worked. It's very very small and has a small weight limit that my wife and I and our luggage were over the weight. Created a real issue when trying to check out when periods were busy. They said they were new elevators but they're waiting on the city to approve the ability to build bigger earlier.

My wife and I stayed here as we had a concert in Southampton to go to that evening. It was convenient for shopping as it was only a short walk into West Quay where there is a number of shopping and dining options. This is also convenient if people are going on a cruise. A really good location for a number of reasons with good on site parking although it is first come first served but there seemed to be a decent number of spaces. The hotel was clean and welcoming, where the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable. We decided to eat at the restaurant at the hotel and the food was delicious, was was the breakfast with an array of options the next morning. Would highly recommend here and we will be back.

Very nice hotel right on the docks. Lovely and clean and very modern. Room was nice and quiet and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was a great deal too with lots to choose from. We parked right outside and the charge was £15 for 24 hours which we thought was fair. Would stay again if we are ever back in the area.

We stayed here after our cruise, it was close to the port. This hotel was old and dingy. The beds were clean, but the room was musty and old. The corners of the room had dirt build up. I would not recommend this place for more than one night.

The room has a terrible mould smell, when I spoke with reception they told me that wasn’t possible as the room was used daily and just sent a person to spray air freshener, the person that came to that realises the smell was really strong and apologised but they told me there was nothing they could do because the hotel was fully booked and since I had already paid for my room they couldn’t give me a refund, so they just refunded me what I had payed for the parking. Mould is really bad for your health we were a family of 4, that room should not have been available for anyone, they were doing some works on floors above and we could hear the water dripping and that’s what caused the mould, the wall I the toilet was wet and smelled terrible, the next morning they switched the water off and the dripping stopped but I honestly believe that room was NOT adequate for anyone to stay there. I was really disappointed, we went there to celebrate my husbands bday and the experience did spoil our stay there

Stayed one night after a cruise. There was construction at the hotel but it didn’t impact us at all. Room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good with free coffee always available. Staff were friendly.

I found the rooms very dimly lit. You are not able to use a hair dryer in the bathroom. Only place to dry your hair is the hallway outside the bathroom with no lighting.A little tricky.

We stayed at the Voco Hotel the night before departing on a Princess British Isles cruise. This hotel was formerly a Holiday Inn. The location of the hotel was wonderful, close to shopping and restaurants all in walking distance. The reception staff was very friendly and check in was quick and easy. We immediately had access to our room two hours before the advertised check in time. The room was stylish and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped although a bit on the small size. We had two mesls in the hotel and the food was delicious although a bit pricey and the service somewhat slow. You do have many options for other restaurants just a short walk away. The hotel is located about two miles ftom the cruise terminal and cost a flat rate of ten British Pounds. I would not recommend walking to the cruise terminal. Overall this is a great choice for an overnight stay prior to or following a cruise, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

I loved the hotel, it was the first time I’d stayed and I normally stay at the Harbour Hotel. The only thing I could fault was the crack in my window and the bed was quite hard despite the topper. The linen, duvet and pillows were amazing and I loved the room and hotel decor. I would definitely stay again!

Lovely check in with Jose. Made the whole process very easy. Room was fabulous - we could see the cruise ships from our bed. Bed was enormous & very comfortable. Loved every minute! We didnt eat there as we had other plans so cant comment on the food!

The service was exceptional, from the genuine welcome and chat when checking in, through to the staff in restaurant in the evening, and excellent team at breakfast. The rooms and decor is stunning and was a real pleasure to stay. Only issue is the small lifts , and if your on a cruise departing day where everyone is fully loaded with cases is can take 20minutes or more to get your turn in the lift. Other than that this must be the most friendly hotel in Southampton. Special thanks to Simmi for grabbing something we left in fridge once we checked out.

The number one thing about this property is the staff! They are helpful, compassionate and so professional. This is the best place to stay before cruising out of Southampton. As you can imagine, they are constantly dealing with people who want to check in early after an overnight international flight, or who want to check out late because they can’t board their ship until after noon. They handle it all so well. Dining room was excellent and location allowed for quick walk to High Street and the historic walls. The property is beautifully renovated and very comfortable.

The hotel was under construction and we couldn’t locate the actual position on sat nav, however the staff did apologise and made it up to us which ended up being a very pleasant stay. We shall go back next year when we go on our next cruise.,it’s incredibly convenient for cruise parking

Jose was incredible, he made the start to our holiday spectacular. I honestly couldn’t say anything bad. His attention to detail, friendliness and kindness is 10/10. The room was spacious, lovely and clean. Only down side was the extremely busy lifts. Come 11am you can’t get on a lift, I had to wait 20 minutes and every lift that did come was full so I gave up and carried my suitcases down which wasn’t bad as we were young. But other than that it was great and in close proximity to the cruise terminals and station.

We arrived at 2.30pm, aware that check in was 3. We registered at reception and was told the room would be half an hour. Happy to wait, we got ourselves an expensive drink from the bar and asked again at 3 - we were told another 15 minutes for the room. This continued without any help or information from the staff - for us and lots of waiting guests. Eventually after queueing several times, we got our key at 5pm. Such a waist of time for our short stay in Southampton.

There was no air conditioning as was advertised. When it was brought to the teams attention they stated there was nothing they could do as the booking was down through a third party (Expedia) and that there were a number of rooms that hadn’t had ac for a while. The worst part is that they said they would send maintenance up, nobody came. Then they said they would send the mgr up, nobody came. Then when we followed up AGAIN, they said the maintenance team annd the mgr all went home and there was nothing they could do.

I arrived from the airport after an early morning flight. José at reception took excellent care of me, taking my bags, introducing me to restaurant staff to avail of impromptu breakfast and facilitating an early check-in into a lovely room. I was very impressed by the modern nautical themed décor, friendly attentive staff and comfortable surroundings. Nice touches in the lobby area such as plain and flavoured iced water add to the welcoming feel. The hotel location is excellent with the main shopping area only a five minute walk with lots of historic sights to see en route. I would recommend this hotel and I will definitely book Voco by IHG in other locations in the future.

We walked to our cruise port as well. The hotel is undergoing a remodeling project. Our room was new and very nice. Once we figured out the temporary entrance into the hotel it was smooth sailing! I would stay here again if sailing out of Southampton city cruise center.

We picked property because of its proximity to the cruise terminal. Turns out it’s quite lovely as well as convenient. Lobby is welcoming and restaurant is great. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Quiet! Easy walk to additional places to eat. Half mile stroll to bus station and national express station. Definitely worthy of a return trip.

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. In November 2024 it was still undergoing renovations which made it noisy during the day and much equipment and fences outside the building. The breakfast is good. Great for cruise ship passengers but don't try to walk to the dock, take a taxi.

Great stay, rooms are beautiful and the renovation in the rooms is really good! The hotel still has a lot of work going on but the rooms are clean, warm and very comfortable. The staff are friendly polite and the breakfast was great! The lady this morning was absolutely brilliant, caring and asked if we needed anything else. Breakfast was a great standard - well done team! One of the nicest hotel stays!

Arrived to find hotel reception newly opened after recent renovation. Very friendly staff but perhaps getting up to speed. Room had pleasant view towards QE 2 terminal. Evening food and breakfast were both excellent.

The hotel is very well appointed and very close to the port for cruisers. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our only problem was that we ate at the bar and ordered a couple of very tasty sandwiches that took over 45 minutes to be delivered. Our server was very apologetic and had to personally go to the very slow kitchen three times to push them to prepare them

Hotel itself was fine but the restaurant service was a disaster 45 minute wait for our main course. When they did arrive one dish was stone cold so was sent back however the rest of the food was good but we had lost our appetite by the time it arrived
