It’s a nice enough property but there was one major issue and one policy that made in a far less pleasant stay than it might have been. The issues were Christmas parties on both nights of my stay that lasted until almost 1am. The music was so loud that the party might as well have been in my room. On the first night, the party was followed by the moving of furniture until 2am. The hotel offered no warning about the party at check-in (they claimed it was on their website, but admitted that not everyone books through their website). They could do nothing to alleviate the situation in the moment, and their offer of a mere 20% discount for the first night — when I was deprived of a decent night’s sleep (a fundamental reason for booking a hotel) — was laughable. The policy complaint is that guests on site do not actually have access even to the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi in the on site spa without paying additionally (and substantially). Even more ridiculously, booking a massage for over GBP100 *at that same spa* STILL does not actually provide a guest with access to those facilities. It’s truly absurd (and a ripoff).

All the spa facilities sauna and steam room are not included in the booking via hotel com. When i book the spa, the attendant that serves us were very rude. She said to us, "You have to pay 49 pounds per person " in a tone of voice like we will not be able to afford it. We pay and use the facilities as this is what we aim for doing for our trip. The whole hotel is filled with rude people working there, i say hi to the woman who is doing housing keeping in the morning she look at me and ask me "which room are you coming out from? Is the room clear?' Instead of greeting like a normal person would do. The beds stinks, and the hotel room has quite a lot of wear and tears. We have a balcony room with the utilita bowl view if you open the window looking outside thats nice view but inside the room, it is low quality cleaniness and the sockets in the headboard area will definitely come off soon if they dont fix it. They allow dogs jumping around, barking like crazy and that causes loads of noise. I didnt feel redted and just keep me awake all night. Have complaint to the reception but no signs of them doing anything

Great hotel,location and facilities. Only negative bit of feedback is they charge for bottled water in the rooms (unless you are a silver member or above) and there is no hydration station in the gym, so no access to water, which I was shocked at. I’ve never used a gym where there is no water station before.

***** Beware - misleading advertising **** I leave this review after discussing with Hilton, they are happy I post this. Please ignore any pictures of the spa in this hotels ad. It is nothing to do with the hotel and comes at significant extra cost. Hilton will be quick to tell you on arrival this is clearly stated in their small print. 2 people using the spar is an additional £75 - £90 each time (so if you want to use the spa on day of arrival and day of departure you can double this!)

Do not stay here. There are so many better options. One staff member was great, but another was impolite, rude and not in the least bit helpful. The Expedia advert is misleading, suggesting that the swimming facilities are available with the basic booking. Parking fees are excessive and the car park was chaos. We arrived at the venue and got ready to go to the gym only to find it was closed for refurbishment; we had not been notified. We found a much nicer hotel nearby, the Hilton does not offer value for money, good customer service or a relaxing environment. We checked out after checking in and are pursuing a full refund through Expedia. The Hilton have contunued to take payments from our credit card. The Hiton are refusing a refund even though we have written confiramtion of the offer of a refund as an email written by the duty manager.

Our ‘deluxe’ room was tired and scruffy lacking basics like a mirror over the dressing table, only one chair, no toilet brush, rotten bathroom doorframe, no fridge, hard mattress and no bath. Access to the spa was extortionately priced and the opening hours limited. With the exception of reception staff on morning of our departure and a helpful barman, the staff were sullen and disinterested. Our little grandson’s birthday cake was plonked on the table in front of him without the candles and sparklers we provided and no knife, plates or serviettes. My starter and main course were good but took a long time to be served. My cheese and biscuits were awful. Biscuits were stale and the cheese tasteless and grapes which were shrivelled. Breakfast was good, lots of variety. The view from our room was also lovely. Parking was difficult as we had to park at some way back in the car park which was heavily flooded in at least two parts. All in all, a disappointing stay for the amount of money we spent as a family.

Hotel was good. Property is fairly modern, although they could do with reinvesting and maintaining the property better. Uneven balcony floor and signs of decay in the bathroom. Beefy's is the centre of the hotel and where the buzz is. Could do with more dining options. Hotel reception is quiet. Unable to enter the spa without paying extra, which isn't really pre advertised. The hotel should sort that out or get a tie up with David Lloyd which is next door.

The lobby staff and restaurant staff are very professional and accommodating. Emma had been so helpful to me when I had trouble ordering a local taxi, who all seemed to be fully booked at that time. I was grateful that I was not stranded in a quiet train station. She kept me informed throughout. My only gripe is that the housekeeping staff was a letdown. The bathroom ran out of the boxed tissues and this was not replaced. Then the shower gel also ran out and not replaced for 2 days and I was left using the shampoo. I had to requested these to be replaced myself. The shelf under the sink was very dusty (room 133). I can see dirt and rubbish under the bed. Sadly these aspects made parts of my stay unpleasant.

This hotel is located inside the cricket stadium. I did not know that. It was fine and the rooms were very nice. The breakfast was excellent. It was a little far from downtown and restaurants but that was ok.

Stayed king suite which was very spacious. Lovely bathroom with separate bath and shower. Bath very large. Very comfortable bed. Staff we friendly. One thing they need to improve is ensuring the amenities in the room are refilled. We had to case coffee and milk several times and no one answered phone to help. Small thing but it should be a standard. House keeping need to double check provisions better.

Had a nightmare stay Hotel was lovely but had issues through out the night with noise. It was totally unbearable and I was unable to sleep at all. I reported it and recorded the noise. On checkout I was advised they would look into this which they did pretty quickly. I was advised that there were major issues with the golf shop air con units under my room. I was sent a lovely email saying they would make my next stay special??? Really? Just refund me for a room I couldn't use.. Very upset from a big company like The Hilton

Adam checked us in and was our person, he made us feel very welcome. I asked for a room away from lifts and quiet. That was the case. Our room was lovely. Also a shout out to the lady (blonde) who delivered our breakfast (room164) on the the 14-15 April. Very kind, professional. Thank you. Staff really make the venue. Look after them Hilton... The hotel is kept in good condition, is clean and in a good location (helps if you drive) but you are near lovely forestry that I recommend you explore. Lots of famous food places near by if needed but there is a restaurant on site too. Unfortunately I didn't try out the spa, had a sneaky look though as travelling with family to see family in the area. But I have recommended the spa to friends who want a quick getaway with a good spa. There is also a golf course...I don't golf but it looked amazing and well kept.

Check in was fantastic and Sophie who greeted me was absolutely outstanding, friendly, professional and welcoming. She deserves to be recognised by her managers. Hotel was good, nice facilities and room was good, clean and pleasant. No complaints at all and would stay again.

Check in at this hotel was straightforward. The room was comfortable, although the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The view over the cricket pitch was excellent. As a group of 8, which included 2 children, we had booked a table in the restaurant. This is where the stay went downhill. Our booking was for 5pm and the restaurant was relatively quiet at that this time. The service left a lot to be desired, with staff who were lacking in any personality and totally disinterested in the people they were serving. The main meals were good but we waited for a long time to be offered anything else. Eventually, we asked for the dessert menu as it was obvious no one intended to ask if we wanted this. We had given the staff a birthday cake and candle for a 4 year old in our party and, when the desserts were brought to our table, the cake was also just put down on the table. There was no candle and no attempt to make this special for our little man. The desserts were unsatisfactory, with stale crackers on the cheese board, an upside down ice cream cone with mini marshmallows described as a S’mores dessert and a crumble that was nothing special. At no point throughout the meal did anyone check in with us. A service charge was added to the bill and, although we paid this, we did not think that the service warranted this charge. A very disappointing experience that did not stand up to the Hilton name.

We were very disappointed in our stay which is such a shame as we have always wanted to stay here. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 3pm (check in time) we had to wait about 20 minutes along with about 10 other bookings. We had a room over looking the cricket ground which was lovely and my Husband thoroughly enjoyed watching the county cricket match. It was disappointing that we couldn’t get into our room at check in so we missed some of the cricket. On walking through the corridor to our room at about 3.25pm there were lots of plates, bottles and food outside the rooms from room service which remained there until the morning which wasn’t a great impression. We had dinner at Beefy’s we asked for water but didn’t get asked if we wanted to order a drink so we didn’t bother in the end. The food was ok. Breakfast was ok. The spa is very expensive and access should be included in the price of the stay. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Do not stay here. There are so many better options. One staff member was great, but another was impolite, rude and not in the least bit helpful. The Expedia advert is misleading, suggesting that the swimming facilities are available with the basic booking. Parking fees are excessive and the car park was chaos. We arrived at the venue and got ready to go to the gym only to find it was closed for refurbishment; we had not been notified. We found a much nicer hotel nearby, the Hilton does not offer value for money, good customer service or a relaxing environment. We checked out after checking in and are pursuing a full refund through Expedia. The Hilton have contunued to take payments from our credit card. The Hiton are refusing a refund even though we have written confiramtion of the offer of a refund as an email written by the duty manager.

Hotel room was ok but it seems Hilton have cutback on a lot of things . A massive king bed with just one pillow each . One bath towel for two people and no biscuits on coffee tray . The service in the restaurant was terrible we were seated at the table given a menu asked if we wanted water to which we said yes , glasses were out on table but no water we had to ask 5 times for a jug of water . No one came to take our food order we had to ask if we could order our food . The food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out . The food was lovely but by this time it was so late we didn’t enjoy it as much as we would have .

Our ‘deluxe’ room was tired and scruffy lacking basics like a mirror over the dressing table, only one chair, no toilet brush, rotten bathroom doorframe, no fridge, hard mattress and no bath. Access to the spa was extortionately priced and the opening hours limited. With the exception of reception staff on morning of our departure and a helpful barman, the staff were sullen and disinterested. Our little grandson’s birthday cake was plonked on the table in front of him without the candles and sparklers we provided and no knife, plates or serviettes. My starter and main course were good but took a long time to be served. My cheese and biscuits were awful. Biscuits were stale and the cheese tasteless and grapes which were shrivelled. Breakfast was good, lots of variety. The view from our room was also lovely. Parking was difficult as we had to park at some way back in the car park which was heavily flooded in at least two parts. This hotel is located inside the cricket stadium. I did not know that. It was fine and the rooms were very nice. The breakfast was excellent. It was a little far from downtown and restaurants but that was ok.

Overnight business stay. Room was excellent - spacious, comfortable, modern and quiet. Also has a gym and spa. Would definitely return. Breakfast buffet is particularly good - a cut above other hotels I would say. Hotel is part of the cricket stadium so is a bit isolated so may not be for all. Would require driving to a local restaurant as nothing really walkable from what I could tell - so you need to orientate around the hotel which was fine for the one night stay

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Hilton Utilita Bowl. It's definitely nice to get a room with a balcony and view to the cricket ground. The rooms are very comfortable, and the hotel amenities and facilities are pretty good. My only gripes were that parking wasn't always easy (many spaces for the hotel were taken by golfers and we had to use the overflow), and the poached eggs we ordered at breakfast were more like hard boiled eggs. Other than that we were very happy and would likely return.

I booked this place for a pre cruise stay over. When I first arrived from the Southampton station I was a bit concerned it was too far out from the terminal, but upon arriving I found they have a reliable and reasonably priced car service they can book for you. We had time to eat dinner at Beefys and see them set up the cricket field for a match the day we arrived. Great staff, good food and beautiful surroundings!

We stayed here as a stop off hotel on our way to holiday. We booked a pitch view with a balcony and to say we were happy is an understatement, it was incredible. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious and very good service, will definitely be our hotel of choice if we come this way again.
