After driving 150 miles and arriving before check-in I was gutted to find no parking was available due to a wedding reception. The check-in staff were not really interested in my dilemma and had little knowledge of alternatives in the area. Fortunately, I did and parked at the local station for £12. I do think that parking should be reserved for those staying at the hotel rather than day trippers.

Lovely situation with great transport links and lovely restaurants nearby. Very clean. Good choices for breakfast. Relaxed bar with great jazz one day. Sunday carvery was lovely. Slightly worn in parts. Lift broken for a few days. Pretty garden space.

Booked for a special occasion, well in advance, including dinner in the restaurant. However due to a function in the restaurant we had to eat in the bar. No one mentioned this event when we booked or when we arrived, so it was too late to book elsewhere on a busy Saturday night. A noisy night ensued. Poor communication spoilt a once in a lifetime event.

It’s a gem booked for one night for concert at O2 It’s a really nice friendly hotel The rooms are a little old and not perfect but everything was clean The reception staff were really friendly This is a 3 star hotel I’ve stayed in 4 star hotels not as good as here The included breakfast was amazing and the breakfast staff really nice We really enjoyed our short stay here the parking was a little tight but got a spot when we arrived We will definitely stay here again Thanks for a nice stay.

No air con so struggled in the hot weather. Couldn't open windows as no pigeon wires on window ledges meant birds could fly in. Signage to rooms needs to be better as on 3rd floor when lift only goes to 2nd. I know its an old hotel but some simple things should be looked at please to make the experience a bit better.

We stay at this hotel a couple times a year for its great location and dog friendly rooms. It could use a referb to be honest but the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. Sometimes if events are on it can be noisy. It’s does a great English breakfast buffet.

It was a very pleasant stay at a friendly old school hotel with all the basics covered and more. Very convenient location, easy, free and flexible to park and an excellent breakfast included in the stay. You will also enjoy the bar!

Check in and restaurant staff very polite, helpful and friendly. Very little parking, and if an event on in the hotel at the same time, none at all. Our room was satisfactory, but like most of the interior could do with a refresh/refurb, and the bathroom was tiny ! Being at the front of the property, good views across Blackheath, but a little noisy with traffic noise. Excellent location to walk into Greenwich Park, and to the Royal Observatory, the Maritime Museum, the Naval College, and Cutty Sark.

Although I booked a Crown room it was really not anything special so I cannot imagine how a standard room would be, There were cars beeping and slamming doors headlight beams shining in the room at all hours. The bathroom was SO small it was laughable (one person could hardly turn in it) The carpet was grubby as I spilt a drink and when I wiped yuck. The decor uninspiring and the pillows rock hard. The restaurant and bar areas were quite nice however and I feel the rooms just need to be redone. On line when I booked the photos I saw bore no resemblance to what was delivered

The staff was amazing. Everything was wonderful. Except for the underlying scent of mildew. You could tell by the warped floors and the subtle scent of mildew in the air that there was water damage of some kind. Other than that everything was amazing

Great location, great food but very dated rooms. The beds were hard and the cleanliness wasn’t the best. There was a pube stuck to the back of our bathroom door. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Also despite it not being hot outside, it was still like a furnace inside.

Disappointing Dirty sheets and blood on the bed Room had a bad smell Had to stay for 7 nights and moved room immediately but second room smelled stale too Manager offered me £50 to spend in the bar. Not accepted.

We have stayed at the Clarendon several times whilst visiting family, and are always welcomed at reception. There have been a couple of small teething problems with the rooms, i.e. toilet not flushing , but the problem has been sorted out quickly, and a new room allocated. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and the domestic staff are lovely. Breakfast is amazing, and the staff friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a short uphill walk from Blackheath railway station, has lovely views over the heath, and is close to walk to Greenwich.

My wife and I stayed for two nights. Our room was large and comfortable. Although the general cleanliness of the room was good, the room looked tired and slightly shabby. Chair arms were worn and had ingrained marks on them. Stains on the carpet and a large hole in the net curtain. Whilst these did not spoil our stay they were disappointing. However, the service from all the staff we dealt with was excellent, polite, helpful and smiling. Despite the issues mentioned we would stay again.

I had a room with a lovely view across the heath. The room was immaculate and comfortable. It was a very warm night, and I was glad for the fan and managed to stay cool. In the morning, I opened the window to let in cooler air and went out for a run. And on my return, a pigeon had taken up residence and was sitting on my bed! I mentioned this at reception on checkout, and the young lady was uninterested—such a shame, as the total lack of engagement tainted the whole stay.

The bedroom size was great but the decor out-dated. The tiny bathroom had been renovated but the fixtures and fittings were of poor quality and the shower only produced cool or boiling hot water, so not useable. It was too hot but there was a fan provided which made sleeping possible, if not comfortable.

Overall a nice hotel and the breakfast deserves a special mention, as it was really good! The rooms left a little to be desired, the beds weren't the comfiest, the shower required running around to get wet and no A/C meant that it was rather sweaty.

This is a charming old hotel in an ideal location overlooking the Heath. Convenient for walking to town for shopping and dining. The interior of the rooms are old and in need of renovation though. I paid for an upgraded view room and was given one on the ground floor with the parking lot and busy street out front so I couldn't open the curtains to enjoy the heath view. The breakfast buffet was disappointing and not worth the daily fee.

In general, it was good, but the shower was not good we can't get fresh water it was too hot and impossible to get it less warm and with my pressure it's very important for me when it's too warm I can faint in the bath. The breakfast is not so exciting the Wi-Fi is not good, you must reconnect all the 20 minutes

Excellent breakfast. Staff especially Sharma was very accommodating and took care of our breakfast early in the morning. We requested if possible to have early breakfast since we have to leave at 6 am to catch our Expat Explore Bus/Coach Tour. Sure enough breakfast was prepared for us in the lobby at 5:30 am. Highly recommend this hotel.

We have had a lovely stay . It was hot weather and the fan in our room was insufficient. In terms of keeping our room and us cool it was not effective . Domestic, bar staff and door staff were great . We were there for a family event and that was beautifully organised . However some reception were neither friendly or welcoming and in some cases brusque . We love the hotel just needs air con in the bedroom

The staff were outstanding. They were friendly, supportive and informative. I really appreciate that the option is available to purchase food and drinks after hours. Each last member of staff were very decent and a joy to interact with. I soooo appreciate their hospitality and assistance. The surrounding areas are stunningly beautiful, especially the park in front of the hotel. The stores within this area are unique and enjoyable to visit. The hotel was pristine clean. The property and facilities were excellent. I really appreciate your help and I will highly recommend this facility to any wouldbe traveller.

This hotel is perfect for our visits to the O2. Fairly easy for us to drive to and then just a 20 minutes bus ride to the O2. The village of Blackheath is also a pretty village, which doesn't feel like you are in London.

I love this hotel. I stay here regularly when I visit London. The location is superb, next to the beautiful Greenwich Park and authentic Blackheath village, and it also benefits from excellent transport links. The rooms are always clean and cosy, service is top-notch, and the breakfast included is fantastic!

Great location only 15 minutes by train from London Bridge. A collection of fantastic restaurants and pubs with some great green spaces, only a stone throw away from Greenwich Park.

The hotel looks grand from the outside and the staff were very pleasant. My room was comfortable, but felt dated and, although not a major issue for me, the signal for the TV kept breaking up. The restaurant was bright and airy, serving a very good choice of food and the waiting team were excellent and attentive in the evening. Breakfast was a bit chaotic as everyone appeared at the same time, but good choices available. Parking was tight, so would recommend arriving early to get a space.

Good friendly and efficient staff. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was fine, but was surprised there was only vegan sausages on offer. Eggs, either fried, poached or scrambled were really good. Only a choice of filter coffee, which was fine but would normally see a machine so you can make a choice. Parking is very limited but we knew this in advance. Great location for all things London.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were fantastic. The only thing that spoiled our weekend was when we went for a drink in the hotel bar. We were the only people there and it was soon obvious why when we bought our drinks. A large whisky and coke and pint of Guinness £19.90. When I questioned it i was told London prices.

Love this hotel what a gem Great staff Friendly and helpful Reception staff are so lovely. Lovely breakfast and the waiting staff a big thanks. Good service does still exist.
