Stayed 1 night

We stayed in the Lucille room this time. It’s larger than the Bowman with a full and a twin bed. The shower was amazing with great water pressure & nice hot water. Unfortunately, I didn’t put the plastic curtain inside the tub so I had to mop the floor with towels 😩. Again, great rate for the accommodations. One glitch was my entry code didn’t work when I arrived for early check in and my code didn’t work for the room when I came back from getting dinner. The staff at The Balsams helped with the issue and followed up to make sure I was all set.

Just right for the cost. Parking is convenient. Easy access to downtown and local football stadium.

We wished there had been a host available on the premises during the most common check-in times. While the place is charming an facilities very comfortable, we did not feel welcome and it was awkward to try to orient ourselves to find our room and everything we needed.

It’s a neat house and clean. Even though you are inside a house with other guests it was fairly quiet. There are not any televisions in the room so that helps keep the quiet. The linens aren’t very comfortable so bring your own if you’re gonna stay for more than a day or 2. The parking is easy and plenty of room. Overall very worth the price to stay. Will return.

The Herren House is an interesting property with a rich history. Close to downtown. Very clean. We stayed in the Bowman Room, which was conveniently located on the first floor. The beds were okay but not super comfortable. Lots of snacks & cereal for my 15 year old grandson. The courtyard is sweet but somewhat unkempt. We will stay again.
