An incredibly beautiful property close to all the old quarter has to offer. Exceptional restaurants, shopping, Opera House, and historical buildings and churches. The food is incredible, service is impeccable, spa wonderful, and the hotel itself a feast for the senses. Just perfect!

Wonderful Hotel in the centre of cultural Vienna. From the moment we arrived the staff are attentive without being smothering. The room was beautiful and the spa was a bonus. Breakfast was an absolute treat too. All of the main sights of Vienna are a short walk. Brilliant Hotel

This was a fabulous traditional hotel with excellent dining choices. It was a little cool during our visit so we got hot chocolate from the lobby café. Very unusual and fun. Learned How to use a bidet! We had no car so the hotel was perfectly located.

I recently stayed at Grand Wien Hotel and it exceeded every expectation I had for a luxury hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt the warmth and attention to detail that defines a truly five-star experience. Excellent location. Amazing deal for a 5 star luxury hotel with a lovely spa

This just was not a 5 star experience. I stayed for a week and the service - particularly room service - was abysmal. I ordered room service for dinner a total of 4 times, and twice my order was "lost" resulting in delays of several hours. If I order dinner at 18:30, I don't want to be eating at 21:30. If it happens more than once, its not an accident -- its poor management. Frankly, the staff in some places was rude, too. The man in the suit running the breakfast service was terse and I dreaded him. The evening manager of the lobby bar was similarly unpleasant. When a hotel bills itself as a 5-star, luxury hotel, you expect a luxury experience. You're likely to find better service at a highway Marriott. The spa charged €170 for a 50 minute full body massage and I found the quality was not worth the cost. The Four Seasons charges less and offers far better spa service. Who came up with these prices? Not worth it. Better to run down the street to the Hyatt if you want a decent spa experience. The rooms had in-room, self-service tablets that didn't work half the time. Very frustrating to deal with. Every time someone in my corner of the 4th floor slammed a door, my walls and bed rattled. To its credit, the building is pretty and the lobby and hallways were charming. On balance, this was not a pleasant stay. It's a pretty building with 5-star prices but 3-star service and offerings. What a disappointing holiday.

I was given a dirty room. Manger later changed to another room. Air conditioning never worked properly in the room. It was 90 F outside. Room temp never went below 71F. Requested fan 3 days in a row. Fan never arrived. Breakfast was ok, but there a few untrained staff who do not know the concept of space... Concierge and Manager are resoanbly good, House keeping terrible. They do not clean rooms.

Having traveled for 30 years and stayed in countless five-star hotels across Europe, this is the first time I've encountered a five-star hotel without hot water, forcing you to take a cold shower on a snowy day. When I called the front desk, there wasn't a single apology – utterly absurd! Five-star price for one-star quality! The housekeeping staff were so unbearably poor that they only came to "clean" after I complained; otherwise, they were just perfunctory!

Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is in good central location and close to u-bahn and streetcar/tram. Room was cleaned well, and "OK", but not "great" value, for the price per night. The room was frankly a little "shabby" e.g. carpets need cleaning, fixtures and fittings passed their best, not a good look for a hotel billed as "Grand". Strange too was the need to indicate what room cleaning and bed linen changing frequency you wanted. Whilst this is couched as being eco friendly it is also a cost saving and profit maximising option too. The management, not the caring and friendly face to face staff, are responsible for the decisions connected to the more negative elements of this review. I paid for 5 stars and didn't feel I got anything more than a basic level of hotel accommodation for the money

Location is good. Room inside is a bit old. My room is 237 and some of the wall paper fell down slightly. No kettle and luggage supporter were provided. The enlarged mirror fell down slightly too. The smell of room was a bit wet.

Nice hotel in central Vienna. Located in the heart of shopping and dining street of Vienna. Old hotel but well maintained. Staffs were nice and assistive. Bedding is quite to soft and using spring mattress, which I don't like that much, but still comfortable. Air conditioning panel is quite confusing to operate but I can make it works after learning. Breakfast was good but not to the point of 5 star hotel expectation.

Fantastic location, and one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Located like a star, and we could walk easily in all directions to be in the best places. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely wonderful. Our room, a Jr. Suite- one of the 10 rooms they call them, overlooking the boulevard. Highly recommend this hotel! Will return.

The room was pretty, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and the location was great.

A Pleasant Stay but Some Drawbacks We had a good time during our stay, and I must commend the staff for being very helpful and attentive throughout. Their excellent service really stood out. The hotel itself is nice but feels dated in parts. Our room was a good size, which we appreciated, but it was far too hot. Unfortunately, the heating system only allows for warming the room this time of year, with no option for cooling. We ended up turning off the heat and opening the window, which led to a lot of noise from the road and people outside—making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Additionally, the shower is located in the bath, which is not ideal for those who prefer a standalone shower. Overall, while we enjoyed certain aspects of our stay, a few improvements could really enhance the experience. Let me know if you’d like any further tweaks!

The hotel was great, location and everything about it was fantastic. The rooms were large and stylish with an old charm, with high ceilings and very well appointed decor. The beds (two twins connected to each other) had problem though, the side that my wife slept on was worn out completely and she fell into the mattress. She didn't say anything to me until I lied down on her side and realized myself how bad it was compared to mine. But by then it was the last night and we just told the hotel about it the next day on our way out. Not sure if they are going to do something about it or not. Other than a bad mattress (which is really the main part of a hotel room, yes?) the experience with the hotel was great and breakfast was fantastic too.

The hotel is magnificent. Beautifully maintained and the room was large and beautiful. The staff are all spectacular, friendly, efficient. All our needs were met almost immediately. Location is also perfect -KartneRing is in the middle of everything and a great upscale and safe area. I highly recommend and will be back.

Location was great and friendly staff. The rooms and carpeting needs upgrade. Mattresses are old with hard springs and very uncomfortable to sleep. Ownership needs to spend some money to make it look like 5 star.

The bathtub shower access was difficult to enter. Anyone with limited abilities should ask for a room with a shower only.

Grand Vienna hotel is second to none in Vienna. I love staying at this place. Front desk staff was very courteous and pleasant at check-in. It is very important when you are traveler and do not understand the language they speak. Got a room upgrade as a VIP guest. Great experience.

City center, great location, the best staff service

The front desk manager was very professional and handled issues sincerely. The breakfast staff (especially Lisa) provided excellent and attentive service.

It was the staff that made the stay. Everyone one of them went out of their way to be helpful. Why Americans felt they had to push in and not wait I don't know!

We checked in when very tired well into the evening. Only on checking our booking details later did I realise that hotel had allocated a city facing room rather than the more expensive Ringstrasse facing room that we had prepaid for via Expedia. On challenging reception the following morning, receptionist insisted we had only book city room m, but agreed to provide free 2hr late checkout when shown written evidence. 2nd and 3rd nights of stay were both marred by fire alarms which, when we checked out, were confirmed to be false alarms. Despite clear instructions that we wished to be taken to the City Airport Train terminal. Staff told taxi that we wished to be taken to airport. Fortunately my knowledge of the city helped me realise driver was taking wrong route, but we then missed a train due to delay. For a luxury hotel, this property need to improve significantly.

Grand Hotel Wien is in the middle of everything you could want to do in Vienna. Its proximity to the concert halls and opera house were primary reasons for our stay. The room was comfortable and the temperature was easy to control. The only thing that got us was the high step up into the shower/tub, which if you're not nimble can be a bit difficult. The breakfast buffet is pricy, but they have everything you could want, including bottomless coffee. The convenience of staying at the Grand Hotel Wien is a major plus. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel with full broad choice included breakfast daily until 11:30. Spacious, quiet yet right on the Kärtner Ring with short access to city center, subway and trams and great walking paths. And what a glorious city.

The Hotel is in the center of the city, just a block away from the Opera house. Walking distance to all the sites I wanted to visit and also great shopping around.

Located in the heart of old town Vienna on the Ringstrasse, this old world gem has been updated but still holds the old world charm as a first class hotel.

Went for an extended long weekend. Great time and will go again. The hotel is located within steps of museums, parks, opera house and restaurants. Highly recommend.

The breakfast is very good and there are some excellent hardworking and helpful and friendly staff! We are very pleased and grateful for all the support they provided us and made our stay pleasant and memorable!

Hotel is very quiet, elegant, and in excellent location. Staff is very nice. A beautiful building with beautiful rooms. The reason for 3 stars is the breakfast. The breakfast room is way too small, cavernous, and does not have enough windows. People are squeezed together like sardines. A hotel of this caliber needs a much larger room for breakfast with plenty of light. Also, please let guests get coffe and milk by themselves without having to ask the busy waiters and wait for the waiters! I want to thank Leon at the concierge who was very helpful!!!

Really good hotel, restaurants are great, they have great breakfast, hotel staff was really kind, they allowed me to make my check-in earlier.

We had a lovely time! Food at the restaurants was excellent and the wait staff were amazing! Friendly, professional, made me feel right at home, especially Gabriel, Markus, Klaudia, Sally and Ivana. We wish you all the best and we miss you already.

The building and the interior design especially the rooms were special and gave travellers a taste of old Viennese style. It had good service and quick and efficient room service time, it’s very convenient and has a lot of food and shopping around it. However The hotels breakfast buffet has limited items and was not appetizing or good. It did not taste good either.
