The resort is exceptional and offers direct access to both sides of the peninsula for easy access by boat on the East and a great beachfront with stunning cliff views on the West. The three internal resort pools are great for quiet lounging. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the breakfast service offers a great variety of quality food.

The Railay Beach ist just one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. We loved the Bungalow at Pool2 at the Sand Sea Resort, because it was quiet there. What we didn't liked so much: The breakfast has not so many vegetarian options and every day there were out of glasses and mugs. Also: The most of the machines in the gym did not work, we and others asked many times if it would be possible to fix them, but nothing happend

Vi hadde et veldig fint opphold på Sand Sea Resort og tilbrakte totalt 10 netter på fantastiske Railay Beach. Hotellet har en unik beliggenhet midt mellom Railay East og Railay West, med kort vei til den flotte veststranden og de vakre solnedgangene. Hotellområdet er nydelig opparbeidet med frodig vegetasjon, palmer og små stier som gir en rolig og tropisk atmosfære. Hotellet har tre gode bassenger, men det er noe begrenset med solsenger og plass, så mange reserverer disse tidlig på morgenen. Standarden på rommene varierer. Den delen vi bodde på bærer preg av slitasje og begynner å bli moden for oppussing, men dette påvirket ikke totalopplevelsen i stor grad. Frokosten er god og har et greit utvalg av både lokale og internasjonale retter. Personalet er svært vennlige, imøtekommende og hjelpsomme, og bidrar til en hyggelig atmosfære under hele oppholdet. Hotellet serverer ikke alkohol, men det er tillatt å ta med egen alkohol og nyte denne på hotellet. Railay er et spesielt og rolig område uten biltrafikk, omgitt av vakker natur og strender. This resort is huge! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Our room was clean and comfortable. Main pool and beach area was awesome. There are limited pool chairs for how many guests there are and this hotel does not serve alcohol. There is a market walking street next door that has great shopping, massage salons, food options and bars.

Great spot. Super quiet and tropical. Super friendly staff. Went out of way to look after us, easy to store bags, easy to buggy us to room and back when needed. Breakfast was pretty damn good too. Great location, use the hotel long tail boat from Ao Nam Mao Pier, makes life so much more comfy with the tractor they ferry you out to boat in and buggy on the other side. Great service to make travelling with two young kids a breeze.

Really nice spot for a few days, literally on the beach, breakfast was nice, coffee shop was good. Only grumble was that the hotel bar doesnt serve alcohol which wasnt advertised - not a big deal though as there are lots of shops around to get some beers and they didnt seem fussed about you having them on the property.

Belle chambre mais salle de bain un peu vétuste et pas très propre, petit déjeuner correct avec vue magnifique, très belles piscines, très bon emplacement proche de tout, accueil correct mais la sécurité nous a interpellé à plusieurs reprises dans l’hôtel avec un air accusateur pour nous demander ce que nous faisions et demander de prouver que nous logions ici en montrant notre clé de chambre ce qui était un peu dérangeant

We were so disappointed by this resort. It was the worst stay we had on our 3 week trip to Thailand. The photos made it look somewhat “luxurious” (though dated, which still would have been fine) but it was far from that. After our late check-in (the room wasn’t ready on time), we were brought to a villa that still had wet floors, hairs and sand laying around, toothpaste on/around the sink, and was generally dilapidated-feeling. There were scuffs on the walls, mold, fingerprints spattered on every window, etc., and we had no bath towels. We’d paid a bit more for a villa with a jacuzzi tub that we didn’t use once because of being grossed out by the state of it (dirty, mildew, calcification all over the spout, etc.). I absolutely hate complaining but I felt I didn’t have a choice here after spending $275 a night in Thailand, and I let reception know, to which they seemed confused or bothered, stating “it’s the high season”. We said we would wander Railay and give them more time to clean the room, though this made hardly any difference. There was no lotion provided or even conditioner in the shower. The resort and room felt poorly maintained and dirty, sadly. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety, though. We were fortunate to have only booked 2 nights, but even that was too much for Railay, we thought. All you need is a few hours there to see the beautiful landscape, but both the walking street and beach are over crowded.

This was a lovely hotel in a lovely location, particularly the side facing Railay west. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable but the air conditioning was noisy. The main pool was busy so we spent our time at pool 2 which was quiet and there was nearly always sun beds available. We were treated to visits from the monkeys on several occasions which was really good. Overall a nice hotel but we were a little disappointed by the rough and dirty areas that were supposed to be ‘out of site’. They really should do better to clear the debris in the service areas because it is visible and makes you wonder how far that neglect goes.

Overall very positive. Beautiful areas. Very friendly and helpful staff. Best localisation, close to everything. Unfortunately backyards with trash can be seen within the resort, not nice. Shower drainage had a strong bad smell nighttime.

Location is great - straddling 2 beaches at either end. Staff are lovely, excellent breakfast. Be very careful regarding room choice. We had 2 during our stay. One was super modern and comfortable but the first was very very dated

The hotel sells itself in booking websites as being on Railay West Beach. In truth, the reception is on Railay East Beach and the facilities stretch all the way to Railay West, a 5 min walk across. Which is fine, except I paid a lot to stay on the west side, and when I got there, they had initially put me on the east side. They did accept to move me finally after much discussion and a lot of stress, but they wouldn’t confirm until 2pm (check in time). I arrived there 11:30 and there was no way they would provide me a room earlier, even though I booked one of the more expensive ones. They made me wait to the last minute even though I saw they provided earlier check in to other people. The next day, cleaning of the room didn’t happen until about 3pm, and I had to complain to get it done. Good luck also getting the internet to work in your room and sometimes even in the common areas. The beach beds were way too few for the amount of people in the hotel, and people would «reserve» them with towels in the morning, so it was impossible to get them for an hour or so during the day. There was a sign that they would remove things left unnatended for more than 1 hour, but they did nothing about it. Some chairs were left unattended for 3+ hours, it’s a joke. The Grand Deluxe room has a very good size, but all metalware is rusting and is clearly not cleaned properly, as there are stains on it that are not just the common ware of time. Breakfast was good, not amazing, but good.

The hotel is low level, not more than two stories, so it is like a series of small buildings either single occupancy or rooms. Our room was excellent, large with good facilities. A few things you should know are that getting there and leaving require a minbus, a motorcycle to get your stuff on the pier and a wooden longboat to get to the beach since there are no roads. So, be prepared for that. Also, beware of the monkeys who can be pretty tricky. Otherwise, the scenery is unworldly, maybe the most spectacular beach you will ever see. Side tours are also available, and there is a street with outside restaurants for alternativ dining. Staff were super friendly and helpful when we mislaid a jacket. Definitely would recommend this hotel

Book the villas. They’re worth the upgrade. Grand Deluxe rooms are very dark with cold blue-ish light and they can be very worn down not matching the photos on the booking site. We were disappointed and upgraded right away. Staff is very good and helpful, service level is great, and resort is WONDERFUL with an amazing location.

Security guard was unwelcoming and unfriendly upon our arrival in West Railay Beach. At registration they assigned an inferior room, claiming it was a “free upgrade”. We insisted to see the original room and it was much nicer so we had to insist that we got it. They were not happy to let us have it. They accused us of stealing umbrellas, which were take by someone at breakfast. Generally very unfriendly staff with immoral policies. I wouldn’t stay here again! Must be owned by some really mean people. The only helpful and friendly member staff was a buggy driver.

The hotel sells itself in booking websites as being on Railay West Beach. In truth, the reception is on Railay East Beach and the facilities stretch all the way to Railay West, a 5 min walk across. Which is fine, except I paid a lot to stay on the west side, and when I got there, they had initially put me on the east side. They did accept to move me finally after much discussion and a lot of stress, but they wouldn’t confirm until 2pm (check in time). I arrived there 11:30 and there was no way they would provide me a room earlier, even though I booked one of the more expensive ones. They made me wait to the last minute even though I saw they provided earlier check in to other people. The next day, cleaning of the room didn’t happen until about 3pm, and I had to complain to get it done. Good luck also getting the internet to work in your room and sometimes even in the common areas. The beach beds were way too few for the amount of people in the hotel, and people would «reserve» them with towels in the morning, so it was impossible to get them for an hour or so during the day. There was a sign that they would remove things left unnatended for more than 1 hour, but they did nothing about it. Some chairs were left unattended for 3+ hours, it’s a joke. The Grand Deluxe room has a very good size, but all metalware is rusting and is clearly not cleaned properly, as there are stains on it that are not just the common ware of time. Breakfast was good, not amazing, but good.

This property is steps away from the Railay East pier which was so nice upon arrival. Don't read the map at the pier though - it'll take you to Railay West, when the reception is on Railay East. You can access the hotel from Railay west yes but it's easier to go to the reception from the east side. Our room was fantastic, the property was unreal, and we loved every minute of it. There are 3 pools on the property as well as it's steps away from Railay West beach. The food at the breakfast was ok. It's worth noting that this hotel does not sell any alcohol - they dont care if you get your own and drink it at the property, but they only sell virgin drinks. The hotel is not far from the walking street and lots of restaurants, we loved it. HIGHLY recommend this property!

Fantastisk beliggenhed, dejlig fin strand i den vestlige side. Lidt larm fra Long tails. Fyldt strand om dagen. Morgen og aften er bedre når der ikke er dagsturister ved stranden. Fin walking street med restauranter tæt på hotellet. Phra Nang strand kun 10 minutters gang fra hotellet. Meget hjælpsom personale, super service. Dejlig morgenmad. Restauranten er også ok til frokost og aftensmad. Poolen blev ikke brugt da man skulle være meget tidlig op for at kunne finde en ledig liggestol. Rene værelser.

Good location as the resort has entrance both east and west of Railay. Convenience for connecting with ferry/speed boat/longtail boat. The downside of my room was the smell from the pipe/bathroom was not good. Need perfume for this. Breakfast was great.

Location, staff and breakfast was outstanding! You just have to come and visit yourself. One suggestion is once you take the longboat to the pier, call the property to assist you with your luggage as it is a very long pier

The worst hotel experience in all Thailand I’ve ever experienced. I was waiting for more than two hours to be checked in, under the super hot weather, without any air conditioning. And during those time they did not allow me to chill by the pool! They just forgot about my presence. Second point, no towels in the room, every day I needed to call them and ask for the towels as they were always keep forgetting about it. The food on the breakfast was terrible! And Coffee is not drinkable at all.

Hyggelig resort med vennlig personale Lokasjonen er prima og antakelig en av de beste på Railay På minus siden anfører jeg ikke alkoholsalg i noen av restaurantene og ikke bacon / svinekjøtt til måltider pga muslimsk eierskap. Dette var ikke opplyst på Hotels.com sine sider, noe jeg vil mene ville ha vært ryddig Rom (deluxe) og fasiliteter begynner å bli slitte og har behov for renovering

I liked the property green areas and pool areas. I did not like much the quality and variety of the included breakfast nor the blockage of the seaside view but I understand that it is under construction. Thank you for having me. I enjoyed the stay.

Really nice spot for a few days, literally on the beach, breakfast was nice, coffee shop was good. Only grumble was that the hotel bar doesnt serve alcohol which wasnt advertised - not a big deal though as there are lots of shops around to get some beers and they didnt seem fussed about you having them on the property.

Tolle Location, freundliches Personal, ausreichend Schatten, aber leider viel zu wenig Liegen. Das Zimmer war sauber, die Klima leise, lediglich die Armaturen funktionierten nicht mehr einwandfrei. Schöner Frühstücksaal, jedoch grausiger Kaffee, aber ausreichend Auswahl für jeden Geschmack. Der Strand war leider von Tagestouristen überfüllt und kein Schatten. Very spacious rooms, efficient check in and out. Sun loungers are few and we got told that we couldn’t move ours actually into the sun by the pool, swiftly ignored that. Breakfast is average and the staff there aren’t greatly helpful. Overall I’d say it’s expensive for what you get.the location however is bang on the money.

Overall very nice experience. Great location, super friendly staff. Pool area was often crowded and could be more attractive. Took one night at the Phi Phi CoCo Beach Resort - if The Sand Sea Resirt rebuilt their pool and pool area in the same way- the stay would have been even better - which this marvelous location merrits

Cam with my daughter, a friend and her daughter. It was a fabulous experience. My 3rd time to Railay. I LOVED that it was directly on the beach and pretty easy to get to and from the walking street and pier and such. Loved being on Railay as compared to in Krabi or on AoNang. Family friendly (halal) no alcohol. Food was ok so we took advantage of a big breakfast as late as we could and enjoyed food at the walking street. Coffee was horrible. Horrible. The coffee shop around the corner was great tho. Summer Fresh, I believe. Unfortunately doesn’t open until 8am. We chose the option to be picked up & dropped back off at the airport and took a van to a waiting area then a samlo to the pier and a long boat to the beach property. No problems at all and helpful staff. Pools are great, rooms are comfortable and clean! Hong Island is worth just spending a full day there but we did the 4 island sunset tour with the bio illuminescent plankton. Super cool! Beautiful all around. Fantastic tour guide that we booked at the hotel.

Great hotel! Breakfast was full of delicious food. Rooms and amenities were all good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of restaurants and excursions available around the property. Highly recommended!
