Very nice hotel in downtown Zermatt. They came to pick us up @ the train station which was nice. Early check in and helpful with dinner reservations. Room is small but cozy and efficient. Everything you need. Downstairs is very Swiss. The spa is a great extra bonus.

Stayed at Hotel Chesa Valese for 5 nights recently and overall had a very good experience. There was a mix-up with the pickup time at first, but the staff were great and made up for it, so no complaints there. We ended up with what seemed like a bigger, more spacious room with loads of storage, and even a partial view of the Matterhorn tip, which was a nice surprise. Only issue in the room was with the plug sockets. All of them were Swiss three-pin. I brought standard EU two-pin plugs which usually work fine (they worked on the train), but for some reason they didn’t fit here. Reception gave us two adapters straight away, which was really helpful. Breakfast officially starts at 7:30am, which felt a bit late, but they let us eat at 7am one morning when we had to leave early. That flexibility was appreciated. The spa and sauna were excellent and definitely one of the highlights. The staff were always very helpful throughout our stay, which really made a difference. Only real downside was the WiFi. It wouldn’t work with a VPN, which was frustrating since I prefer not to use open networks. Luckily I had a data SIM so I managed, but it’s something to be aware of.

We had a lovely stay at hotel Chesa Valese. we especially liked the hospitality of the owner and that she was often present and takes such good care and pride and their family business. Her staff is very attentive. We had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn and the location was perfect for walking around and access to ski lift. Breakfast was especially good and a nice way to start the day, and après-ski the sauna and steam rooms were very relaxing. This is a place we will remember and return to:)

Great hotel. Clean room, super close to the train station. Many restaurants options around (they don't have one). The staff was really helpful and we got some chocolates when checking out. Would defnitively be back in our next trip to Zermatt.

The staff, particularly Michael, was so accommodating, we thought he owned the property (which he told us he did not). The room was comfortable and clean, the property was spotless and the breakfast exceeded all of our expectations. This was a last minute find and the experience was amazing.

Clean rooms! Lovely balcony- we choose the room with the view to the Matterhorn and it did not disappoint in the morning and day and night! Bedroom and bathroom are modern. Best breakfast lay out and the coffee perfect! Best coffee in the whole trip! Staff friendly and helpful! Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, short walk to the ski lifts of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Amazing views and rid up there for both skiers and non- skiers! Complimentary electric shuttle to hotel from train and return.

Highly recommend!!! The staff is amazing. Went out of their way to make you feel like family. The room was large, clean had all that you would want in a room. The refrigerator had drinks for free, chocolate in the room. A wonderful experience for sure!!!

Nice room for me on the third floor. You can pretty much see the whole matterhorn which is the part matters the most for travellers. The room is clean with all drinks included in the fridge and the bottom of the still water bottle has a matterhorn-shaped and I am very delighted seeing and be able to have it for free. breakfast was delightful and various dishes supplied. Shuttle bus picked us up from and to the train station which is very nice. Although I have waited about 45 mins for the pick-up at the beginning. But I saw the construction in the town so I guess it was just a occasion. The overall experience was really delightful. I am very happy that staff has told me to go on the gornergrat at the first day because the weather was very very nice on the day. I would have missed it as it was raining the day after. Overall highly recommended!

We were in Switzerland for my son’s 16th birthday. The hotel made the stay extremely special. The room was amazing. The views were incredible. Waking up to see the Matterhorn from the balcony was magical. The staff and the owner were wonderful and accommodating. We were sad to leave. It felt like home away from home.

Hotel Chesa was so warm and inviting and so smartly curated from the nice alcove bedroom for our son to the beautiful closet for storage and bathroom amenities and coffee setup. Truly amazing! We were so pleased. And the adorable front desk woman from Holland was so friendly and accommodating.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Chesa Valese! The location couldn’t have been better — everything we wanted to see and do was just steps away, which made exploring so easy and enjoyable. The Hotel is perfectly located! We really appreciated the train station shuttle feature. The breakfast was good and the room was excellent. For the most part the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend and would consider booking this hotel again. The one thing I will say is that I was amazed at the poor, grumpy attitude of some of the breakfast attendants when guests are genuinely being friendly, considerate and kind. Not every inadvertent "mis-step/faux pas" is done intentionally or with malice to offend or cause issues or inconvenience. Grumpy employees can ruin a holiday unnecessarily.

Very nice hotel in downtown Zermatt. They came to pick us up @ the train station which was nice. Early check in and helpful with dinner reservations. Room is small but cozy and efficient. Everything you need. Downstairs is very Swiss. The spa is a great extra bonus.

Clean rooms! Lovely balcony- we choose the room with the view to the Matterhorn and it did not disappoint in the morning and day and night! Bedroom and bathroom are modern. Best breakfast lay out and the coffee perfect! Best coffee in the whole trip! Staff friendly and helpful! Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, short walk to the ski lifts of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Amazing views and rid up there for both skiers and non- skiers! Complimentary electric shuttle to hotel from train and return.

We had a lovely stay at hotel Chesa Valese. we especially liked the hospitality of the owner and that she was often present and takes such good care and pride and their family business. Her staff is very attentive. We had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn and the location was perfect for walking around and access to ski lift. Breakfast was especially good and a nice way to start the day, and après-ski the sauna and steam rooms were very relaxing. This is a place we will remember and return to:)

Amazing stay at an amazing property. We were picked up promptly from the station after calling. We would have walked the 10 minutes down the hill but it was pouring rain. Rooms were ready and clean. They called a restaurant they suggested to us to make sure they were open (it was the beginning of the shoulder season). The rooms weren’t very sound proofed, but it really wasn’t needed. It was super quiet from 9 pm until 7 AM when the town kind of woke up. There was some construction a few houses over and we got to watch a helicopter do a crane’s work. This was around 10AM though so it wasn’t really bothersome. Good view of the Matterhorn from both our rooms (we split 2-2 for our family of 4). Room was in amazing shape. Breakfast was great, they went out of their way to provide what we wanted. Scrambled eggs and bacon were the hot offerings, and it was all great. Pastries, meat, cheese, yogurt. And juice/water/milk. They brought coffee out on request and had a tea bar as well. They kept our luggage the last day while we went up the gondola. Then gave us a ride up hill back to the station. The location is great, 6 minutes to the main shopping street, 10 minutes to the station and 12 to the glacier paradise gondola.

We booked into a sister property & got no notice that we were moved to this one. It was fine, but we would have liked a heads up. Also, I received an email confirming that I would have a bathtub (medical reason). We were were put in a room without one & had to move. There were only 6 rooms occupied in the hotel when we were there in April, so the breakfast was very scarce compared to what they described as their usual spread. This is a small family owned property. It is well maintained & the staff were friendly & helpful. They will pick you up at the train station if you make arrangements with them in advance.
