Convenient spot to spend a night really close to the airport. Excellent breakfast buffet! Free parking was 2 mins walk in the city port and convenient. Room can get noisy because lots of cars passing in the main road. Palace of Knossos was a few mins drive

Quirky hotel with different elevators for different parts of the hotel, but otherwise a nice stay. Clean, with friendly and very helpful staff. Very nice breakfast included. Good location, with view of the harbor and easy walk to restaurants, shops, etc.

We used this hotel just for one night while travelling from Heraklion to Chania. Everything was what we needed, including a restaurant open to midnight and an excellent breakfast. Parking is at the port (half-mile away) but this was easily accessible and convenient to use. Good choice!

A very good place to stay with a nice view of the port. We stayed twice on our travels to Crete. Parking is the only big issue. The site says it has parking but it’s not on site. It’s either at the port or in a public garage. Both are about 500-600 meters away. Difficult if you are handicaped.

The floor in my room was sticky to my bare feet. The weird little elevator closed on my hand and scratched me. The employee who was just standing there inside the elevator said it wouldn't go up, so I went to get out, and the doors closed fast again - this time bumping my shoulders. Pro tip - the bathroom light switch is opposite the bathroom door with the other light switches. Wasted about 5 minutes on that one. The lobby has a weird/choppy layout. Poorly designed and poorly maintained.

Nice enough place with easy walking into shopping and dining areas. Clean. Nice room and balcony. One of the things that I searched on was parking included and it’s not really. It’s on an incredibly busy street where you can’t even stop and parking is in a lot around the corner and cost about €22 for two nights.

The breakfast was quite fantastic. Menues varys day by day. I thought the services and rooms were good untill I found the roaches. The first time was infromt of our room, but it was okay and they got rid of it very quick. But the second one was found on the floor at breakfast corner. Besides the roach problem, everything was good.

Not clean, mold in the washroom, safe was broken and we only got one towel. The room was small. On the positive sides, it’s pretty central, they do give you parking though it’s quite far away and it’s really cheap. Don’t recommend the restaurant, food was quite bad

The staff was helpful and the sack lunch they gave us when we left before the breakfast was available was much appreciated. However the hotel is in need of a refresh. The pictures of it were accurate, maybe 5 or more years ago? Everything was a bit worn and dingy. So marks on the wall, the bed just at the edge of still comfortable, pillows that were on their way out, the towels thin and skimpy, and so on. It was an okay place to stay for the night, and our view was lovely, but don't expect what you see in the pictures.

The rooms are dated and the balcony view we got was a half sea view. Not like what I reserved that showed the fortress. The lobby is shabby. Only good thing about this place is a discounted nearby parking garage.

The Lato is in an excellent location if you are catching a ferry. Only about 10-15 minutes walk to the pier. The rooms are basic and small. Clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was the highlight. Food is good and excellent service for dinner and the free breakfast buffet was great.

When we arrived for our reservation for our stay at this hotel we were informed unfortunately that the air conditioning had broken down and was not going to be repaired for 3 days. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and had arranged for us to be transported to another nearby hotel with an upgrade to a suite. They held our luggage as we had arranged a tour right after our check in and then transported us to the new hotel which was nearby and centrally located. So unfortunately we didn’t get to stay here but it looks so cute and the staff was incredibly gracious.

Very good hotel, and friendly staff. Vi booked a superior room with seaview. But you could not see the sea from the room, but if you went out on the balcony og look to the right, then you could ser the sea. I was told that this was the correct room. In that case - the seaview - I would say is oversold. However we got another room the next day, with correct seaview. The balcony here was very very small. All in all a good stay. The top bar/restaurent has a fantastic view.

Spiro claimed that we had no reservation and expedia never sent confirmation, moreover, Spiro claimed that they had no rooms available. We waited over two hours in lobby before the manager arrived and rectified the situation. Poor reception of staff. Two televisions in room but only one remote control. Spiro said that's the way it is.Poor service. Manager was good.

Great for its location close to the old town. There is free off-site parking but it is a short walk away. Views from our Junior Suite over the harbour were stunning. It was quiet at night and breakfast was absolutely fine.

I’m honestly obsessed with how good the breakfast was! So many options! So delicious! The room was lovely. I had a beautiful view of the sea and fortress. This place is so walkable, while still feeling private enough that it’s not a loud location.

Within the old walls, close to the Port and walking distance to the centre fountain where you could find many restaurants. Room was a bit tired but had a view over the harbour with a little balcony. Small fridge, kettle. Bed was comfortable, buffet breakfast had variety but all pre-cooked.

We had an excellent 6 nights at Lato. The property is very well maintained. Someone is always cleaning! The breakfast is delicious with MANY items from which to choose! Staff is quick and attentive. We ate a few times in the hotel restaurant. Our meals were excellent. The wine list is short but selective and reasonably priced. The wait staff were highly attentive and professional. Their thoughtfulness added to the positives of our meals.
