I rarely write negative reviews, but this stay was genuinely disappointing and not worth the 150 price tag. While the breakfast was genuinely good—a solid and tasty start to the day—the room itself was a catalogue of maintenance failures and frustrating policies. The basic comfort elements were missing. The bathroom sink simply refused to drain, and the shower was completely empty of body wash. Beyond that, the room felt neglected: the curtains were visibly dirty, and the door knobs felt loose or broken, making the doors unreliable. Worst of all was the noise; the AC fan was so loud it made sleeping difficult. The issues extended to customer service and pricing transparency. After paying 150 for the room, they tried to slap an extra 13 charge on for parking. I was shocked, as this was not mentioned anywhere on Hotels.com where I booked. Thankfully, after I brought this up, the representative removed the charge, but the initial attempt and the ensuing argument about parking on their property (where the rep stated it was my responsibility wherever I park) was a frustrating end to the stay. Unfortunately, a decent breakfast can't compensate for a poor night's sleep and multiple maintenance issues paired with unhelpful staff. I cannot recommend this hotel at this price point.

The facility itself was fine….what wasn’t fine was the charge for parking. This was never disclosed to us. The charge is $13.00 per day to stay at a hotel that you are already paying for! We won’t be returning.

I had asked a ride to go to the airport when I arrived. I came down just before at the time that had been specified time, which was 4:30. The clerk said that it was 431. The clerk told us we were supposed to arrive five minutes early. She asked whether or not I had been been advised to arrive five minutes early. I had not been advised of that and I was waiting in my room until just before the agreed to time Consequently, I missed my flight. This is horrible service. If you’re going to provide a shuttle, you should make sure the shuttle is available and call the room if someone is missing.

Our room and areas throughout the hotel smelled like weed. We had a minor maintenance issue and the front desk responded appropriately, but the maintenance person who came into our room was not friendly or professional. The parking fee is absurd. It's not a downtown area where parking is at a premium, it's an airport hotel in a business park. No legitimate reason to charge for parking. Room was smaller than we are accustomed to for this brand.

I usually love staying at Homewood Suites, but this one was awful. The chief complaint is the smell. Our room reeked like a poorly cleaned pet shop. Clearly many dogs have stayed in the room, but it’s never been properly cleaned. We couldn’t wait to be nose blind. There are lots of gross stains on the bathroom walls. You can tell no one has even attempted to clean them. Lastly, there is no temperature control in the room and only one vent in the kitchen, leaving the bedroom airless if you want to shut the door between the bedroom and the rest of the suite. We will not be back.

The bathroom was pretty dirty. My whole family is blonde and there were long, black hairs all over the shower curtain, bathtub and the floor. There was no linen for the pull out couch (in either of our rooms). The rooms were booked for 5 and 4 people and there were only 3 towels in each room. It was also extremely cold in the rooms and there was no thermostat. We also had two rooms reserved and they were pretty far apart.

Bathroom ceiling was very moldy. Dirty towel from previous guest still hanging on shower rod. Bathroom door would only close halfway, got stuck on the uneven floor. Mattress was hard. And possibly the creepiest thing was when what I believe was the cleaning lady, just opened our door,(no knock, no announcement) and stood there and just awkwardly looked at us, only speaking when I asked who she was, I have no idea what she said because we couldn’t understand her. Then she just walked away. This was at 9:00 am, checkout was at 11:00 am

COCKROACHES IN MY BED! 2 of them my son chased towards the headboard and managed to kill - who knows how many more we didn’t see. Unfortunately we were already in the beds and watching TV. So at 11:00 at night we quickly packed up our stuff - informed the front desk agent who did not care - and left to drive 4 hours home. Before discovering the roach crawling OUT from under the blankets towards me - the room above us must’ve had kids running it was loud for it being so late. Never ever staying here again. We also saw one crawling on the hallway floor as we were leaving - DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Room Description included ‘sleeps six’, I would have to assume that means six tiny people. We had to move all the furniture around just to unfold the sofa bed and it still barely fit. Once we got it unfolded, there were no linens. The bed room was quite small as well, we had to stand on the bed to get the curtains closed because there wasn’t space between the bed and the wall. I’m not sure why, but we were in a handicapped accessible room and I could not fathom how someone in a wheelchair would be able to get around in such a cramped room.

This hotel is clearly a bit older and not quite as fancy as some, but it’s a decent place. It’s slightly out of the way in a pretty quiet part of town. The positives: The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was varied with something for everyone, and had an engaged attendant. The negatives: all minor things - the toilet didn’t flush in one of the bathrooms and maintenance took a few hours to come to fix it. Water pressure and draining in the sink were poor. The body wash tube was empty, which just indicates they aren’t checked. And the a/c is very loud when running. All-in-all, good spot if you want to be near that part of town and want a clean place, but aren’t worried about it being slightly older.

First off, the staff were very kind and helpful and did a great job assisting us. However, the physical state of the property is just falling apart. Not working: 1st room AC was out (80 degrees in the room), would have just opened windows, but there were no screens and there were wasp/hornets all over the roof line and windows, so we didn't want to invite them in. Pure filter wouldn't turn on (?) And the room had a strange smell, maybe an animal/pet? 2nd room thermometer battery needed replacing, not a big deal, but it is a good thing to check. A lot of water damage to balcony doors, and generally run down room. Pool was out of order, glad we didn't come over earlier in the day. A notification would have been helpful. I realize it is difficult to maintain these old properties, but since you asked me to share, I hope it is helpful.

We have stayed here several times when in KC, and have enjoyed it (we have gotten some great rates, and it's definitely worth it for a low rate). Here are our pros and cons... 1. Pros: -location - very close to zona rosa mall and the Tiffany Springs area. So many good restaurants and shopping options a short drive away -All of our rooms have been very quiet -Staff has always been friendly and helpfu. -Even though it's an older property, it has been remodeled in the past few years. -breakfast is good with lots of options 2. Cons: - Older and it shows in places. During our last stay, the door to the veranda was permanently painted/bolted shut. The room before we were able to open it. Also, our door handle from the LR to the BR was falling off. Just little things to show it's an older property. - Not always the super clean. I think it's hard for housekeeping everywhere, but we often notice crumbs and dirt if we wipe something up on the floor. Little things -Please note they are double beds and not queens. They definitely feel small when sharing with another person. Overall, for the price you're often able to get the rooms, I recommend and would stay here again.

The staff were nice, but the property is dated and needs lots of TLC. In our room, the electric window curtains were ripped and non-functional, shower looked a bit dirty and some of the floor tile had cracks, beds weren't very comfortable, the bedroom TV didn't work, and the ceiling fan barely spun. Overall, just an okay property if you want to be near the airport.

$14/day hidden cost when staying here. They charge for parking and you have to pay every day you are there. Additionally, we stayed 6 days and not once did we have a cleaning crew come by to change towels, bedding or drop off toilet paper. Had to go to the front desk multiple times to get anything. The front of house staff was super friendly same with cooking staff for breakfast but was supper annoyed that we had to constantly go up front to get anything.

Housekeeping entered my room. No knocking or announcing who they were. I was in a towel as I'd just gotten out of the shower. I look out the bedroom door and see 2 people in my doorway, they immediately closed the door. I called the front desk, who apologized and said they would have a talk with that floors supervisor. Nothing else was spoken about it for the rest of the stay. If your room.is facing the courtyard, then it will not be a quiet vacation. Kids and teens constantly playing basketball, and swimming. People out till 2 am talking and being loud. People running up and down the hallways. A house keeper used the room next to mine to plug in a vacuum cleaner to "clean" the hallway at 9:30 pm. The AC worked really well. Sounds like jet engine fans are used to push the air into the room. Not even turning the TV up drowns it out, cause then the TV is blaring. If I do ever go back to this property I will ask for a room not facing the courtyard. 2 stars for a comfy bed, and breakfast taco bar.

Checked in right before the blizzard hit Kansas City. The staff were super helpful and very attentive. They offered great service all the way through the blizzard and on into the following two days. Spent four nights at Homewood while visiting family in the KC area. The hotel was in a perfect location to both visit family and enjoy some local attractions in and around downtown KC. Definitely should check out Zona Rosa area for some good food and shopping. The hotel rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating.

This was a very nice hotel stay, and close to the highway to get everywhere we needed to go. The room was clean and very roomy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only downsides were very thin walls/windows, we could hear conversations in the other room and had a window by the pool and the kids were loud. But those are minimal things and won't change my 5 star review. Very pleased with our stay!

In our first room, the shower would not allow a bath to be run without the shower squirting out water too. Maintenance could not fix it so we changed rooms. We stayed 3 nights and whenever we asked for more towels since there was no housekeeping available, the front desk never sent what we requested. At breakfast, the waffle maker was only available for use one of our three mornings. I would think that would be available every morning during breakfast.

At breakfast, juice was in pitchers and not readily available. Bed a little hard and reservation was for 6 so new would need sofa sleeper. Had to ask for bedding. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay there again.
