I was a bit concerned when i pulled in because there was only one other vechicle in the parking lot. But once I saw the room i relaxed. It was clean and had everything I needed. The lot eventualy filled up in the evening.

Older motel, clean and neat outside. Ample parking. Room had a fun and well done western theme. Room very clean especially bathroom. Nice bed. Not fancy, not a corporate copycat, just an affordable place to send a night.

Lowest price in the area. After staying there I can see why. The lobby is closed off all hours and you have to ring a bell for help. The person who came out seemed very bothered when we asked for simple things like extra towels (very few, small, thin) an Iron / board (they don’t have one) or a receipt for our stay (they gave me a handwritten receipt for the wrong guest.) Very small and limited soaps / shampoos. The pool was not noted as closed, however it was filled with leaves and Algae and not swimmable. There was a mini fridge in the room, so that’s positive. While I won’t say the rooms were filthy overall, there were cigarette burns on the bed covers, the mini blinds hadn’t been cleaned in a while, and the floors were dusty. The only reason I gave 2 stars is it was at least $60 a night cheaper than every other hotel in the area, but in hindsight, I should have paid more for better.

Stayed the night for Cornish Christmas in Grass Valley. Was clean, we only needed a place for the night. No real opinions for dining out. Was away from restaurants & shopping. My wife and I were there in Dec. if was 37 degrees in the morning. We had to wait a while for the pipes to worm up to get hot water. After that we had hot water. All in all wasn’t terrible, but the water thing was a little stressful.

Why is the pool dirty and not heated. I really wanted a swim, and asked for the dirty pool to be cleaned, but all they did was push the dirt around to other areas. Very poor.

Good beds. Lots of water pressure (too much actually need better shower head). Clearly the sink area wasn’t even wiped down and the carpet was kinda gross. Pool was nice. Super noisy neighbors but didn’t hear them once the door was shut.

We didn’t stay after checking the conditions of two different rooms. They didn’t even look like they had been cleaned 😠. The person at the desk insisted the rooms were clean but we took pictures to prove they were not. There were lots of people out in the parking lot partying, right outside of our room (which we didn’t stay in). Noisy.

Let me start by saying, The holiday lodge was my home away from home when we would come visit Nevada city. Unfortunately with this last stay my home turned into an extended stay third world lodge. First the vanity lighting in the bathroom did not work , then we found a baseball size blood stain on are sheets, then to top it off the bed and pillows were so out dated. I’ve stayed in many of hotel rooms, but by far this is the worst and most uncomfortable room my wife and I have ever stayed. I Don’t usually write reviews. But for the price of the room the standard was far from being met. Honestly not even close. I will never pay to be UNCOMFORTABLE at THE HOLIDAY LODGE EVER AGAIN… I had good memories but this last stay really showed the LACK of CARE and PASSION for the once well respected lodge.

This is a $59 dollar motel charging $150. It was noisy and hot. There was mold and hair in the shower. I slept on top of the bedspread and used my own bedding. I would not have stayed here had there been another option.

We were asked 3 times if we had pets, which we didn't. Also, a bit of staff mix up thinking we were only staying 1 day when we had prepaid for 2. Overall location met our needs and was cheapest in town.

Language barrier. Front desk was not understanding I was trying to check in. When I asked to check in, she told me I can check in tomorrow at 3pm. I had to explain my check in date was today not tomorrow. Just hard to communicate. Also was difficult asking for extra towels as it was 8am and still trying after 9am but nobody was at the front desk.

This was the filthiest most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I do not recommended anyone ever staying here!! They also charged me $60 weeks after I stayed there and I called them about it they just hung up on me and will not answer the phone now!! They are criminal!!!

Just what we needed for end of day restful night sleep after taking care of ill family member during the day, very clean, newly renovated rooms, quiet area, affordable rate per night, friendly staff. We only booked one night at a time due to uncertainly of duration of our stay in the area, we ended up with five night stay. Sadly, it was the last visit to Grass Valley area, family member we were taking care of passed on same week.
