Too expensive for such a basic room. Cheap towels and toilet paper. Broken wall switches. Handle on bathroom door broke. Just a basic room with nothing special. No refrigerator or microwave. For almost $5000 for just 3 nights I had to pay for valet parking and all food (not even free snacks). Complimentary breakfast would have been great for $5000. Bathroom was nice but just a waste of money. Not sure what all the money was for. Will not recommend or ever go back.

Everything was at the level you'd expect from a Ritz-Carlton. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed that the restaurant was closed. This was not mentioned in the booking process or in any of the correspondence before our arrival. We had planned on having a birthday dinner at the hotel.

The lobby being on the 12th floor was a little different. Staff all very nice - not quite Four Seasons level but still pleasant and friendly. Really enjoyed the pool and dry sauna on the 11th floor, though regrettably the steam sauna was down for repair. One odd thing - the bathroom in our bedroom (I was there with my two kids), which has no lock, is one common area with the shower and toilet. So make a note - bathroom is one person at a time. No brushing your teeth while your kids use the can or shower (glass walled shower).

We had a great experience during two different stays over a long weekend. The location is convenient despite being tricky to drive into; however once our car as parked we were able to walk absolutely everywhere. The rooms are comfortable with fabulous views. The gym has everything you could need. And Rudy the bellman was so friendly and helpful. We are from Chicago and now live out of the country. However when we come back to visit family, we will return to the Ritz in the Magnificent Mile. We look forward to seeing Rudy’s smile soon!

The room was great, the beds were comfy and the view was awesome. We enjoyed the gym, spa, shopping and food without going out into the super cold weather. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The perfect staycation!

Terrible experience. I have stayed at many Ritz Carleton properties. This Chicago location was very disappointing. The staff are rude, aloof and disorganized. Upon arrival the door man doesn’t even open the front door. Restaurant staff are rude and take forever to serve you. Upon check out I didn’t even get asked how my stay was. In addition, the cleaning staff knocks on your door way prior to check out demanding when we are leaving. The spa is a disaster. I had booked services for myself and my mom and when we arrive they are telling us someone cancelled our reservation. After 20 mins of back and forth finally I said we are leaving then she says “oh I was mistaken.” I found your services. What kind of Ritz Carlton is this? They could learn a lot from the Ritz Carlton in Toronto. This would never have taken place in Toronto.

This is not a Ritz Carlton Hotel. Dirty and bad conditions towels. Unpolite staff at front desk, especially Ryan. Unskilled concierges at night. The property is old, with poor spa facilities. Rooms are old and without automation. Cheap finishings at bathroom. Bar and Restaurant with no charm. Having a Starbucks inside is something for a 3 or 4 star hotel.

This was my first time staying at the Ritz in Chicago and it did not live up to prior expectations. The door to our room actually locked us out after leaving it and almost took out the whole door jam when trying to get back in. They left the door jam broken and simply got us back in. Mold in the shower the floor to the bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned in months. Also found food and a fork behind the curtain upon arrival. Not impressed at all!

The hotel is lovely. The staff in the Club Room was beyond exceptional. Minor issues: the TP holder and the bath door handle were loose. Engineering fixed within a half hour. Excellent customer care.

When I stay at a five-star hotel, I want to feel like I’m staying at a five-star hotel. Rooms are clean and beautiful. Everyone was so nice but there were definitely annoyances with service. 1. They brought us a cheese and sausage platter when noone in the room so by the time we got back from shopping it was warm. We had to call the front desk and they needed to perform an investigation before we could be sent a new one 2. I needed a fridge for my breastmilk and pump. I had to call two times because after four hours the refrigerator never came 3. Although there is a thermostat you can control in the room, you actually really can’t control it. It is motion detected so if you’re not in the room or if you are in the bathroom, you’re watching TV or sleeping it’s going to default to 68. I expect more from a 5 star hotel. If they can charge you like a five star hotel… 550$/ night, 19% room service fee, 7.50$ delivery fee they should accommodate you.

I have stayed in all kinds of hotels from Motel 6 to the Waldorf Astoria New York. I hesitated staying at Ritz because of the stigma of being "Ritzy". I was very disappointed that my room was not at all "Ritzy" On the contrary it was ordinary. Ordinary as compared to a Holiday Inn. Biggest complaint was the fact that there was no closet space, no drawers, and no place in the bathroom to put anything away. I stayed for over a week and wanted to unpack. I had to live out of my suitcase. I saw signs that you had "redefined luxury". I agree, you changed the feeling of luxury to ordinary. When I visited the Ritz in Chicago for a drink many years ago, I thought it was beautiful. Now, I must again use the word "ordinary". I won't be staying with you again. I can get ordinary anywhere.

Not to the typical Ritz level. Traveled in very early. Did not get early check in. Asked for late check out. Was given an extra hour but housekeeping showed up at regular check out time. Elevators not adequate for volume of people. We did not get housekeeping after leaving at 9am and returning almost 3pm. Front desk was indifferent. Again, nothing horrible but not a value for price paid and definitely not consistent with prior Ritz experiences.

Horrible customer service from the check in manager. Room booked for 3 people. Sleep room only for two. Was lied about rollaway bed being available and would be complementary due to the sleeping arrangements not existing for 3. Rollaway bedding was not available. Was offered another room at a rate more than twice the rate paid originally. No one cared how my stay was during the stay or after. No one even asked during the checkout. This was a complete failure in customer service.

Raquel at the front is definitely a stand out. She should be commended with her top quality, customer service and her positive positive attitude. She was such a great person to meet and a wonderful representation of the Ritz collection. My overall experience was absolutely wonderful and I am quite surprised due to the fact that there was a huge conference going on and numerous people constantly coming and going the Ritz and Staff never skipped a beat.

We had a wonderful couples getaway at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago. Everyone was so nice and pleasant and room service was outstanding. Also the front desk receptionist, Toni was outstanding in helping us and sharing information about both the city and hotel. She was so pleasant and professional and went out of her way to assist in our every need.

Its exactly what you'd expect. The location is perfect. Shopping is walkable. Restaurants are near. And the Navy Pier is in sight-distance. The staff was friendly and accomodating. And rideshares took less than a minute every time.

I had a wonderful time at the Ritz. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my requests and needs were addressed. A special shout out to Tobias (Toby) at the front desk for his exceptional hospitality and service. The only issue I had is the lack of vegan dining options.

It was a vacation for my husband and I. Loved the stay, people, room, no complaints. Had a great time. Our waitor Jorge in the restaurant where we had our daily breakfast was awesome, very personable, couldn't ask for a better man. Everyone in the restaurant was great and friendly, including the bar area where we had nighly drinks. We will stay there again. Bellmen were great and helpful.
