Super 8 by Wyndham Slidell

It's a great hotel for those traveling with their furry companions. The rooms do not have carpet, there is a reasonable cleaning fee for pets, and an awesome grassy area with live oak trees to walk them in. Staff were friendly, the parking area was well-lit and there was a convenience store and Waffle House next door.

I thought it was very upsettong that they told me the pool would be available and then i get here and they tell me its closed. I had called before hand about it and was told the pool would be avaialble. My son is autistic and was very upset about the pool. Thats the whole reason we chose this hotel in the first place.

Motel had been totally updated inside and out. Looked like just builder. Only short coming the mattress was old style interspring worn needed upgrade to new

The bathroom was definitely neglected! The pool water was green!

The staff were rude. Claim to be pet friendly and asked for a $20 deposit. Non refundable.

Quick check in , nice staff . . ..breakfast was seriously lacking and a random family with 4 loud kids just showed up to use the pool and had easy access . maybe the pool cameras arent working :(

Hotel could use some TLC

Generally average motel, few minor concerns: Late night checkin staff hard to understand / communicate with, not a language issue, more just not good at communication. Swimming pool out of action

It was a great stay we had clean towel everyday and it was good to know they have different towels for when you're swimming instead of the bathing towels

It was really dirty and looked like it was falling apart. The bed sheets made all of us itchy and the water pressure in the shower was very low. Overall just a very low quality motel, we would’ve went with somewhere else had we known.

Disgusting! We saw roaches in the bathroom, at the fridge and at the table. When my wife reported the situation at the front desk during the night time, all she got was a bottle of roach killer spray for us to do the work! Bed wasn’t comfortable and there were cigar marks. The area around the fridge was very dirty. I felt very bad for not paying 15-30 usd more for another hotel, I was too tired after driving all day and they had my money already.

Just NO. The outside grounds were well maintained. The staff was rude. Minus the housekeeper. She was sweet. Filthy bathroom, though. I took a shower with standing water to my ankles by time I was finished. I pulled a huge ball of gunk from the drain. No telling who or what. Not my hair in a freshly made bed. Gross

We were really impressed how clean the room was. The staff was very nice and helpful. We will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Slidell!

It’s a convenient/ last minute place to stay. Waffle House is in the the same parking lot and Burger King is across the street so that’s a plus. Bugs everywhere, outside and inside the room, dead bugs on the wall. There was a brown smudge on the ceiling but whatever. Hot water is nonexistent, Luke warm shower is the worst especially after a hot night out in NOLA. Day of checkout, my husband and i woke up 30 minutes past checkout time. An employee (male) was completely rude to me (assumed i was in my room alone), accused me of slamming the door in his face and threatened to call the cops if I didn’t leave in 5 minutes. My husband talked to the guy. He was trying to validate himself about being rude to me. But the kicker is that he was much nicer to my friend who was staying on the opposite side of the motel, told him to take as much time as he to leave. Overall we enjoyed our time in NOLA.

We thought it was clean. They was cleaning all around. We did not just see them cleaning the rooms but the parking lot, pool area of leaves and trash. They was very accommodating. We had a smoker after booking non- smoking. They changed rooms for us no problem for the night. Had a Breakfast set out. Very nice room.

The bed is very comfortable

The rooms were newly updated and very clean. One item or issue was a shelf was loose from wall due to bolt anchoring shelf was missing.

This was a great place as I've stayed her before and will again. Easy access, room was serviced daily, very convenient to freeway and and the room was fairly new.

Nice place to stay for the price but the beds are hard

I was put in a mobility access room (for the handicapped). The room itself was great and a nice size bathroom with a nice size walk-in shower and fold-down seat inside. However, the shower curtain kept touching my leg while seated/showering (ick). The shower curtain (IMO) needs to be on a curved rod and problem solved. Additionally, the front door had a very decent size "open" gap underneath and above the threshold. I don\'t understand why there isn\'t a door guard of some sort on there to keep the bugs out. I had a towel under mine, while there. When you\'re gone is my issue bc one night upon returning I had to kill a German cockroach that entered! If you don\'t know how big they are - Google it. The noise was another factor. My door was right by the steps close to the front facing Wafflehouse (which that was a bonus) but it was hardly ever quiet whether it was the lawn care people blowing the parking lot or sidewalks (not to mention right onto your car) or people walking by or up/down the steps. Assuming it was the owners (that run day shift) that knocked on my door, trying to push me out and yelled at me about the cleaning/laundry they have to do, mind you they weren\'t even close to being at full capacity. I got the rest of my stuff out of room & onto sidewalk. However, instead of them going into the room that they so desperately needed to start on, they proceeded to stand there, arms crossed, and STARE me down until everything was in my car, my dog and myself included.👎👎

Pleasantly surprised on how nice it was. The bed was too soft for me but my husband liked it. Definitely would stay again

By no fault of the hotel it seems like every person to our sides and above us were fighting or having some kind of situation it was hard to get any sleep because people were in the parking lot at 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning having loud discussions

Pleasant desk clerk, quiet and clean No complaints!

Booked with Expedia. Requested a quiet upstairs room. When I arrived, the desk attendant claimed his information showed I requested a handicapped room. He insisted I had to take a handicapped room and I advised him I was not handicapped, wanted the type of room I requested, and saw no reason for me to be in a handicapped room, as a truly handicapped person might need it later that night. From the looks of the parking lot, plenty of rooms were vacant. He refused to change the room and I did not like his attitude. Very unimpressive. Plenty of motels in the area. I'll try another one next time

My stay was very pleasant, quiet ,most of all very clean room, staff was very nice and if u need anything they def would go out there way to get it for you .I highly recommend this hotel I will definitely be back :)

Front desk clerk very unfriendly almost to the point of rudeness. Room smelled musty. Comforter had stains as did the only chair. Lampshades were dirty and cracked. I was in room 103. Would never recommend to anyone. Wyndham should be ashamed of lending its name to this facility. Checked in at 3:30 pm, checked out at 10:30 pm. Did not spend the night there. Request a refund. Worst experience ever!

The front desk person was very accommodating. We booked a nonsmoking room, but the room we were given smelled of smoke. He immediately moved us. We needed more towels for the room because there were 3, not two, in the room. He brought them right away. We felt very safe, the room was clean and beds comfortable. However Wyndam needs to remodel and improve their bathrooms and vanity/sink areas. We would return for another stay if needed.

Good inexpensive place to overnight on a road trip. Clean, basic hotel right on the interstate.

Peace & Quiet... Fast Check-in & check-out. Nice location

This property was perfect for my trip. Far enough from New Orleans to get a good night's sleep but close enough to make a quick decision to get into something in the city.

I like the fact that its close to freeway plenty of places to eat,only problem was the shower water goes out very slow i had to wait 20 minutes to take shower after my husband other than that i recommend this place nice amd quiet

It was a great stay overall, quiet location, clean rooms, decent furnishings…the only negative was when arriving about 4pm, the lobby was locked, I waited at least 15 mins before the desk person returned, they were super apologetic, inconvenient but not a huge issue.

Room was clean. Had no issues with anything & breakfast was a huge plus!

The stay was very good but the breakfast needs a lot of improvement. They need gravy and biscuits and a waffle maker so you make your own waffle. They need more selection of creamer. They had nothing for a diabetic to eat.

We reserved a no smoking room on the app. However when we got to the hotel and we're giving the keys entering the room with a strong smell of marijuana I went back to the office but there were no other no smoking rooms available. Also it was hard to get cold water. Normally I would complain about not having hot water but in this room that's all we had. The breakfast was sweet bread and coffee. This was the second time we stayed at this hotel but unfortunately it will be the last.
