Motel 6-Slidell, LA - New Orleans

Old establishment with zero amenities - no hair dryer, no shower products, towels were threadbare… We were not expecting much, just needed a safe place to sleep in the area. The bed was comfy and overall we felt safe. Made the best of the adventure.

Overall great condition for an older Hotel, Staff was friendly. Pool area was great , clear and clean.

I understand i got our room at a great rate however i saw what they were charging guests who booked directly through the motel and it was outrageous. Our room had mold, the shower leaked water all over the floor, the rooms were musty, they charged for common toiletries that most hotels and motels dont charge for. They housekeepers did a great job with what they had to work with and were very friendly however its very clear that they aren't using the profits of the motel for improvements. Thank god we only paid $70 because I would have not stayed there otherwise.

Rooms are nice with a nice size fridge and microwave. Room was clean. Large property with big swimming pool. Will stay again.

Hotel was perfect to sleep in. Hopefully when I come during the summer the pool is clean so we can utilize it.

You get what you pay for.. Although it was cheap, the water was hot. It was very small no refrigerator no microwaves just two beds in the restroom and the TV you get what you pay for.

This room was brand new. Great bed. And very quiet place. Drawbacks are the water is not very hot, even after letting it run 30 minutes. There is No refrigerator nor microwave in the room. If you come here off a long trip, and just want to sleep and get back on the road, i highly recommend it. If you have to stay a week (As was my case), you need to eat out and nowhere to bring any left overs. Also, there is no daily room service, you can get freah towels at the office. I did have some guys who wanted to use a skil saw in the parking lot right outside my door, so, watch for that also.

It was disappointing because at this hotel they close pool at 7 pm. Have new manager when Ms Paula was there it closed at 10 sometimes later. It’s so hot that older people an workers get off a pool is close. Everyone was complaining. Need to open later really don’t understand closing pool so early.

The new management is not properly keeping up property. Use to say here for the last 8 years when visiting family in Louisiana. This time new owners. It’s June pool not fix, nasty, rooms dirty had to move twice. First room smelled like dogs, hair was in room. Second room had hand prints on tv. Mirrors dirty, left the next morning instead of three nights took that lost. It was disappointing just dirty. Had to go get toilet tissue from front desk. It was not a nice experience.

No microwave or refrigerator in the room if it’s just u then that’s the best part

Room was full of roaches. Asked for extra blankets was told I'd have to wait until morning.

I will never stay here again. The room was not cleaned, there was trash on the floor, things left by previous occupants, mold in the shower. There were no amenities like extra blankets, shampoo, extra toilet paper. The WiFi and TV did not work. And to top it all off the door lock wasn’t even fully attached.

The staff was friendly but the room was very dirty and there were feces on the wall. They need to fire their cleaning lady.

We had a dead cockroach stuck on the wall, excessive cob weds in the corners, hair on the shower walls, and speaking of shower... You have to buy shampoo!

The bathroom was disgusting. The shower had hair in. It didn’t look like it was clean. The shower curtain was torn. It was just all right nasty.

Friendly people. Room was clean with many tv channels. Our dog also had a nice time. Will stay again.

When I first arrived to the property I did not fully inspect the room due to immediately needing to be at event that did not allow me to arrive until after 1am. After trying to get settled and shower it was noticed that hair was all on the shower wall. We called the front desk to request a resolution and also to have a manager call us back. The manager never did call and every time we called to speak with a manager we were told that they are not in yet. Would get a round about time they would be in and when we called we still got a run around. We asked that to be refunded a least a night of the stay and the staff was unwilling to assist and was also very rude and short with us over the phone. Also, the lock on the door did not seem very secure. A screw kept getting loose which did not feel safe.

We were heading to a cruise for a family gathering. The first room we were placed in had urine and toilet paper still in it. We also observed a roach crawl into the television stand. Jacob, the night clerk moved us to another room and the toilet there still had a ring around the bowl. However, the room had an overall better smell and the sheets were pleasant. This experience taught us to never trust anything less than a hotel.

Previous guest left used bar of soap and the wrapper in the shower stall, so obviously it was not cleaned. I guess hygiene costs extra at motel6.

No WiFi, no microwave, no fridge, no hot water

I liked the retro feel. Clean, nice shower, clean bed. Yes, a good night. The AC on high was plenty cool but a bit noisy for light sleepers. Otherwise fine.

I've stayed at this property before and had no reservations about staying again. Let me stress by saying, at no point was there more than 10-15% (by outward appearances) occupancy. Pluses: Room was clean and fairly new. Minuses: My room was further to the backside of the property. I'd have to leave the water run for 5 minutes before I would have hot water in a severely under pressured shower. Secondly, over the course of 5 nights, my room wasn't serviced once, and after the 3rd night, I had to go ask for fresh towels. (again, not that busy) Lastly, beware of and don't feed the neighborhood strays. I was sitting outside my room having a smoke and one of the extended residents asked for a light. After joining me for a smoke, my bad, he asked if I had any extra, and when I declined, pointed out a few places nearby to restock. The stray, seemed to be hanging out waiting for my return the next day to ask for another light. I noped out of that situation. (Just an annoying encounter that I brought on myself)

The only great thing I can say about this Motel is the location is great. It is located right off of I-10. The service was friendly which was good. But they didn't really go out of the way for that awesome motel experience that grabs a tourist's attention, but friendly none the less. The room was the absolute most horrible room I have ever had the displeasure to stay in. The water pressure was very slow, took forever to get a little hot water, the TV had bad reception, there was a queen size mattress on a full size frame which made the bed droop on either side,the only blanket on the bed had cigarette holes in it, hardly any amenities like coffee, or toiletries, just little bars of soap and a few towels, and the smell was so bad, that we had to drown the room with cologne and perfume. I will not be returning to this or any motel 6 establishments again.

The wifi wasn’t working in the room I was in. Small rooms, bare minimum amenities.

I booked a queen room for my husband and I to be closer to work for the 2 days we were at another location. Seemed perfect for what we needed. No frills necessary, just BASICS. Basics were NOT PROVIDED! Nor the indicated specifics on the site. Queen bed with Wi-Fi.. this was a must! We were here for work. No Wi-Fi and tiny bed, I asked clerk upon check in for the password and her response; "READ THE SIGN!". NO WI-FI ! Wow, ok. I was too exhausted to argue, I have a hot-spot. (Didn't want to use my data, BUT) Upon entering the room; TINY FULL or DOUBLE BED!!My husband and I have a king, this may as well have been a single bed. I also noticed the 2 thin pillows- went to office and said there was. Mistake, I booked a Queen room. The clerk said, "that's it, all we got!" I couldn't believe this was happening. I asked for 2 extra pillows; the clerk responded, "we only have what is in the rooms, no I can't help you". At this point I'm wondering if this is a joke, but sadly, it wasn't. After spending a MISERABLE 1st NIGHT on the hard, tiny bed with 1 thin pillow; then suffering through work all day exhausted and hurting, I went and purchased pillows for us to have at least half decent night sleep the 2nd and final night. This was not only shocking due to the misrepresentation of the motel amenities; the people screamin in front our window and slamming doors all night. DISGUSTED! Also, refused to return my deposit upon check out.She stated-IF you eligible it'll refund!?!?

I instantly regretted my decision to stay here. When my boyfriend and I first walked in the room, there was absolutely no air on. It is June in Lousiana!! The heat index is typically 105•-115•. It was extremely stuffy and it took a while for it to cool down. The AC was blowing cold but it took a long time and it was very small room. Oh and the bathroom felt like a sauna.

Canceled my stay without telling me. Drove down there and they would rent a room to me for 3x the price i had reserve. Ended up going else wear

Manager is super friendly and helpful. Property is older but clean and quiet.

Check in is at three did not get checked in until 345 had to wait for the rooms manager was horrible

Hotel staff shorten my stay by 2days, saw it was a mistake on their end, and still decided to put my things out. The way the manager handled me was worse than you treat an animal! Instead of apologizing the front desk staff through my personal items on the floor. The manager called me a liar when I brought it to her attention, then she actually saw that I was telling the truth she called the police, yes the police! My makeup was broken and item’s stolen from my room! The manager refused to file the incident report after my several request! When the police arrived they illegally gave them my information (I haven’t committed a crime). I was given a trespass violation! No one has contact me from the property. This was the worst stay ever! ALSO NO WI-FI, NO POOL, DRUGS, Prostitution, NO MICROWAVE, NO REFRIGERATOR. I can’t add the videos!

We had to get a room after traveling a few hours and we came to this Motel 6. We had no issues checking in. The lady at the front desk was nice and quick. Room was clean and had no issues outside or around the building. I was happy with my stay.

I paid for a extra night two hours before checkout and the housekeeper bust in my room disrespectfully asking am i leaving checkout is at 11. All because the front desk person was talking to her boyfriend and didnt update the housekeeper on the extra night. Noone took accountability the manager only said sorry but u paid late which was a lie cuz i had a confirmation at 9:11am when checkout is at 11 and when i showed him he just looked dumbfounded!I was exposed and disrespected. A person is always suppose to announce themselves no matter what!Wont ever come back!!!!!!!!

Overall worst place in Slidell to stay. Selected queen beds on site and whih is an upcharge and there is No queen beds at all at this location. Did not refund me. Rooms are very tiny. Pool looks like a green duck pond. Panhandlers wondering like zombies around the hotel.

Great people running the property and easy access to highways.

That place looks like people should not have to spend their money on it. I didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping there so I sat up in a chair at the door.

Was quiet close to restaurants at walking distance and was able to rest. Not having phones in the room and no WiFi definitely was disappointing but for the price for one night was good.
