Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Colonial

Room was very clean. The staff was very nice and polite. The whole property is tobacco free, which was a wonderful thing the rooms smelt good and you couldn’t smell anything outside the room. Some downsides are the pool was not open it was closed for maintenance and the property on the outside needs to be cleaned and kept up with there was a big liquor bottle on the step near our room and stayed there the entire visit we were there three nights. Also most of the people we encountered seem to be residences and not guest. The ice machine was broken so we asked the front desk if they had another one, and they told us to use the one that was beside the big one which you had to pay for. It pains me to give anything other than a five star review because of how amazing the staff is However, I feel with a little bit more effort on the outside this place could be a wonderful place to stay at.

The property advertised a continental breakfast but there was not one provided. There were not enough towels and wash cloths provided for the number of people that the room was designed for. We had a family of 4 in a 2 double bed room and were given 2 towels and 1 wash cloth. Ice machine did not work. Hotel was very rundown and understaffed. Essentially, you get what you pay for/

Disappointed upon checking in to find the pool was closed. Wish these types of inconveniences could be communicated prior to arrival. Some confusion over the reservation but it was cleared up. No problem, just accent related communication issue. Have stayed here before and would stay here again.

Room was what we expected but the A/C was not working so the technician fixed it quickly. Carpet looks fairly new but a vacuum cleaner would have been nice to once in awhile clean it. The pool was open but I went to check it out it was green and even black in places. I listened for the pump and never heard it running. Very disappointed!

Didn't receive and wash cloths until around 8:30 PM. There were 2 ice machines and neither one worked, worker that brought wash cloths said only 1 working and it was unplugged which he fixed.The pool was closed for the season, because there were too many repairs needed. Went down for continental breakfast , door locked and no one at desk. Found out later that you had to ring the door bell but there was no sign telling that.

I do not recommended this property to anyone if you looking to spend the night in clean and comfortable place. The property doesn’t have an elevator, it’s advertised NON smoking, but all around the property you can smell the smoke. At first our room looked clean, but after walk around the room I wish I could’ve just leave this place, but having 2 little tired kids, we decide to spend the night. The bathtub stopper was detached and you can see how dirty was there, hair behind the bathroom door and floor. Looks like someone did some maintenance work, but forgot to clean it. My 2yrs old found screws around the bed, dust and wood chips in the closet, right above the bed on the ceiling you can see stain from possible leak, someone tried to fix it, but did a horrible job. The beds had 4 small kids size pillows and there is no extra pillows in the room. Definitely not a place for family with kids!

Hotel staff was so nice! Room was great & the continental breakfast had much more than I expected. The pools were clean & not overcrowded. We had a great stay & would definitely stay here again!

For the price, this is a great place to stay. The room was clean and it was quiet. The water pressure was great. Also, the pool was very clean and nice to swim in. I was very pleased with how quiet the property was. Would stay again.

I never left a bad review but this time I was really shocked by the condition of the room. I have never seen any hotel room looking so terrible. Everything in the room was super dirty. The bathroom tub had mold and looked like it was never cleaned before. I was afraid to get in it. The same with the sinks. The fridge had tape on it that was holding it together. The bedding was stained. There were a lot of ants in the room and Wi-Fi didn’t work. The continental breakfast was ok though and there was plenty of parking.

The room was very dirty and had mold growing on the bathroom ceiling and stall. There was food debris on the floor and upholstered chair indicating the room was not thoroughly cleaned when the previous guest had left. There was absolutely no cleaning done to our room when we left daily . No trash emptied. No clean towels. We had to call the front desk daily to request clean towels and that our trash cans were overflowing on to the floor and needed emptied. They only showed up 1 time during our 4 day stay in this dump. I finally became frustrated after days of nobody cleaning our room and walked to the front desk to complain. When I did I let the manager's wife or daughter know about all the problems once again for about the 5th time and she told me that I should come to the front desk daily and take the towels and walk them myself and to empty our own trash cans out as well. She stated that they weren't aware of any problems with our room which is a flat out LIE! After being yelled at and being told that we should do the housekeeping duties ourselves i left and vowed to let as many people as I could about this TERRIBLE experience! My wife and I are both disabled and we both walk with canes and I'm also taking my first trip since fighting cancer for 3 years and this is how we got treated by management! This was the worst experience we had EVER in our lives! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE STAY AT A PEACE LIKE THIS!

The room was very dirty. There were holes in the bathroom doors. I don’t think the bathtub had been cleaned in weeks. Full of hair and dirt. The sheets were also dirty.

There was 10 day old food in fridge. Carpet was not swept around beds. Spring on bed was coming through at end of bed. Shower curtain was dirty with hair on it. Shower walls were dirty. Toilet paper holder was dirty. Toilets rim was black with dirt. No hand soap. Towels were stained.

The room had paint peeling off the wall… The bathroom sink had mold… The bathroom is not being cleaned properly. The carpet in the room has a fishy smell. I had to spray my cologne in the room daily. The phone in the room doesn’t work.

Had bed bugs

The property was in a convenient location to Colonial Williamsburg with availability at an affordable price on a busy holiday weekend. The staff person checking me in was friendly. That said, the room did not feel clean. It was very run down. There were black smudges on the bathroom counter and toilet seat. The bath mat was damp even before using the shower. There was mildew on the bottom of the shower curtain. The bathtub was peeling. There was an odd smell in the sleeping area. One of the lights was burnt out. The mattress was very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well. The most unsettling part were the people sitting in their cars in the parking lot and/or standing on the walkway having loud conversations on their phones just outside my door. This went on until after 10pm. Thankfully it was relatively quiet the rest of the night except for traffic noise. Also, one of the windows at the end of the building was shattered with glass all over the sidewalk. I don’t know how long it had been like that. I do not not plan on returning to this property.

Was placed in room 111, the ceiling was covered in mold and the air quality in the room was very poor.Will not stay here anymore

Mold and mildew growing in the bathtub fixtures and surround. Carpet and bedding stained and falling apart. Mirror coated with something. Walked out of my room into a bunch of cigarette smoke on this completely smoke-free property. Tried to report issues at the front desk and gave up after several minutes and multiple bell rings. Couldn't rest because a person having a loud phone conversation full of profanity right outside my door. If they say they have breakfast available on the listing, it's a lie. They will tell you it's not available when you get there.

The good: Clean towels, clean bed / sheets, bathroom was clean The bad: Dirty carpet, very dirty radiator, very dirty rack in bathroom. Dirty air vent in bathroom. Entire room smelled heavily of smoke. Room felt dated and walls, baseboards, carpet were in poor condition. Lots of garbage/discarded junk in parking stalls next to us. Very thin walls. A group of individuals were having a barbecue in the parking lot and playing loud music/ watching tv until approximately 1am. Overall felt unsafe. Night staff was unfriendly and very curt. Morning staff was friendly and personable. Overall, I would not stay again. The smoke smell was very off putting and lowered my already low impression of the room substantially.

The room appeared outdated, with stained furniture and carpeting. The initial room had a strong odor of smoke, prompting me to switch to another. This second room also had an unclean appearance and feel.

I have stayed in many Days Inn over the past several years. Mostly clean & convenient. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. Unit was on very back of building. No closet, no coffee pot in room. Mostly vacant. Breakfast was advertised at 7:00 am, but only small cupcake, apples, coffee & juice was available after 8: am. Front door was locked, had to knock several times to gain admittance. NO NOT RECOMEND This location.

Pretty sub standard lodging for the price. Just very cheap, basic, old a bit cringy.

Airconditioning was old and very loud, even though it said non-smoking- still smelled. Neighbors who may have been living in next door property were up til 3 in the morning having what appeared to be a domestic dispute, with TV on til 3 am very loud. Got no sleep and had a very important event the next day. Very disappointed..just need 8hrs of sleep.

I reserved 3 rooms for the first floor due to my family menbers unable to clime atair. I spoke with the manger the day i reserved my rooms confirming my reservation and request for 1st floor rooms whixh they said not a problem. As we were heaed into Virginia i contacted the feont desk letting them know we are running late again he said no problem. When arriving at the hotel I go to check in he stated he rented my rooms out to someone else and xould give me a second floor room. I was pissed. The room he wanted to five me on the second floor the air-conditioning did not work as it was in the upper 90 degrees. I told him there is no way we can stay here no airqualityheating and on the second floor. I stayed in contaxted with the front desk through my traveling in to come to this hotel and my reservation was not fullfilled. Terrible and inconvenient. I had to find another hotel which i did and was able to accommodate me for a 1st floor room. I will never ever stay at this days in. Ever.

The staff was very friendly and quick to address my need.

Upon arrival, the front desk lady was very disrespectful and sarcastic. She was not professional at all and gave us a hard time for arriving less than 2 hours before check in time. The room was very outdated and old. It was also very dirty and stains everywhere. If it weren't for booking with a third party and arriving so late to go to sleep, we wouldve left. But we arrived after 8pm to sleep and my son was already asleep. So we stayed. The bathroom was disgusting and stains everywhere. I believe there was also some kind of rodent poop laying around.

First, I would like to say that the gentleman that ched me in was very hospitable. Upon entering Room 237, there was a big stain in the carpet. Unfortunately, I do not have a photo of it or the mold around the refrigerator lining, but I was talking with someone on facetime and I showed them everything. The padding on the bed had stains on the left side that hung down beneath the fitted sheet. The refrigerator lining had not been cleaned in a while. Not certain if it was mold, but it looked disguising. My friend tried clean it with a Clorox wipe. The outside of the refrigerator needed to be wiped down, and bathroom tub had rust around the drain, the crevices of the shower looked like no one had cleaned in a while, and there was a bath towel for the floor, but there was no shower curtain! We called the front desk to ask sbout a ice machine and we were given very good directions to it and told that one machine was out of order, but when we got to the machines both machines looked like that had not been cleaned in a while and the one that was out of order had cobwebs in the ice storage bin. The hotel offered a free breakfast, but were uncomfortable eating there.

Room was comfortable and clean. Check-in was not good. The person signing us in was rude and not friendly at all!! Breakfast was non-existent and that was one reason we stayed here. Disappointed with breakfast.

Second day staff was there and let us in. Breakfast was a choice of fruit loops, Raisin Bran and another unhealthy dry cereal. Juice dispensers were empty. Coffee available but lousy. Heater was terrible. Loud and no regulation. Kept going on and off all night. Trash all around the grounds. No comfortable chairs available in the room. Would never stay in this property

Omg i loved the girl at the front desk she was so helpful, nice, and respectful. My daughter glasses break and she fixed them. I would stay here again and the rooms was so clean

The workers were nice. If you want a cheap place with low expectations because you’re visiting Busch Gardens, then this is OK. If you are use to very clean and comfortable beds, then this might not be the place for you. The breakfast was white bread slices, one type of fruit, one muffin and three cereal dispensers. They also had coffee and juice. There is a small pool that looked clean. The location is surrounded by restaurants and next-door to miniature golf so that was convenient. It’s by far not the worst place. I’ve stayed at, but if I go back to that area, I probably will spend a little bit more for a bigger bed and a little bit more breakfast choice.

Good value for the money. Excellent location close to everything. Minimal continental breakfast but good coffee.

We stayed for 1 night. We arrived late in the night and the receptionist was nice. The hotel location is convenient. The room is average, you get what you're paying for. The lamps next to the beds were not working, some of the sheets had stains and there weren't enough towels. The commons don't feel safe and are not clean, the dumpster was full and garbage all over the floor. There were two guys using drugs very close to our room. At least there was a police patrol driving around the property.

We stay here every time we visit our daughter and our grandchildren and great grandchildren. It is very convenient and comfortable!

The area is in Williamsburg, although it is in a dubious part of Williamsburg. We woke up go seeing cop cruisers parked all around the hotel.

Great location if you are going to Busch Gardens and Water World.

It was close to where my Mom lives, so easy to get to, and close to Colonial Williamsburg for siteseeing.

Historic site, well keep

Honestly. If this hotel was in a different atmosphere and had staff that was more friendly I would give it 100 stars because the inside was squeaky clean !!! Beautiful. But pulling in was multiple people on each level just death staring at you and making you feel uneasy. I felt like the room was gonna be broken into like so sketch.

Bathroom door stuck on bottom couldn't close all the way without forcing open. Mini fridge iced up but swaped out quickly. Carpet dirty low lighting. Breakfast got worse everyday first no oj then no oj and no apple juice. Muffins ok. Cereal good. Coffee very weak.

There was mold in the bathtub. Website said breakfast so assuming a hot breakfast. Only muffins and cereal. And not much muffins were left .

The room was OK, but the breakfast was supposed to be included between 7 and 9, at 7 the office was locked. I waked the clerck, the breakfast room was closed. There was nothng to eat, the juice distributor didn't work. All she brings to eat is 4 bananas

Advertized there was a hot breakfast, there was barely a cold breakfast

Breakfast was advertised as grab and go. Sign in dining room stated "please do not carry out breakfast. dine in only". Breakfast was fine. 3 types cold cereal, apples, muffins, bread and butter. (no toaster, no jelly) No blankets!! Bedspread was just one layer of seersucker fabric thick. (I need the weight of a blanket to sleep well.) Looks like they just clean the sink/faucet with window cleaner or water--there is a buildup.

Break fast was not good. Only cereals and muffins. No bread, eggs or any hot breakfast. Not worth if you are looking for a stay with breakfast.

It was ok! Plain breakfast and only last for 1hr.

The breakfast is not a hot breakfast ..it's continental. The bathrooms are a little outdated. But besides those 2 things ...it's GREAT for the price!
