Everyone and everything was fine except two things: one is no ramp going out the side door from the first floor. It is nice to park on the side near the elevator but with many steps it is VERY hard to get luggage up and down. The other thing is HAVING TO DOWNLOAD AN APP AND LOAD MONEY ON YOUR PHONE just to do a load of laundry. This is just a MAJOR inconvenience. Exercise room is nice and breakfast good. Location good for our travels in area.

This was an excellent location. The parking lot was large enough to accommodate all of the vehicles. The front desk receptionist was great- friendly and efficient at both check in and check out. We walked to a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful meal. We felt safe walking back to the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was close to Colonial Williamsburg and centrally located near plenty of restaurants and a movie theatre. Check in was fast. Hotel only has one elevator, so it can get busy at times. Housekeeping was upon request or every 3 days. Pool was outside with plenty of chairs, but no shade. Breakfast was fine, except that waffles were sticking since attendant refused to leave out the spray, for some reason.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel and room were clean and in great condition. We had two issues with the stay. The wifi was slow and inconsistent. The only thing we would of liked is some hotels have a little store for some drinks/snacks which they did not have. There was a vending machine but it only had snacks and nothing to drink.

I requested housekeeping and the gentleman at the desk said I was on the list for housekeeping and came back from my family outing to a filthy room. The vending machines were all empty. The room smelled like cigarettes and the iron board was broken almost dropped the iron on my foot.

We stayed here one night after going to Busch Gardens which is 5 miles away. We chose the hotel because it has a pool, breakfast is included, and it is affordable. The hotel is very clean, breakfast was fantastic, and the staff super helpful. Highly recommended.

We were so pleased with our stay! The hotel was spotless, you can tell cleanliness is a top priority here. The rooms felt recently updated, modern, and very comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day. Breakfast was another highlight, a really nice spread with plenty of options, all fresh and delicious. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be staying here again!

The check in was great (Michelle). Upon arriving to my room, i heard the high pitch noise. I called the front and they responded immediately. The refrigerator had some issue. When unplugged it went away. They didn't want to keep it unplugged because it would leak so I had to plug and unplug throughout my stay. The bed needs to be replaced. When I walk in the room I could see it sag/dip in the middle. When I sat on it, it squeked and I could feel the springs while setting on it. There was hair around the toilet and I found hair on one of the face clothes as well. This room needs a new bed. Breakfast was good and stock. The entrance (recepion) area was clean and updated. Probably won't stay here again. I had reservations for only one night.

The room was clean, smelled nice and looked like the pictures. Bathroom is a little small for the price but suitable. We only stayed one night. Big suggestion; don’t get the rooms near the ice machine. It is in the hallway and you can hear throughout the night when someone comes to get ice. Not a big problem but if you are semi-light sleeper like I am, you wake up wondering what is that weird noise.

My husband and I liked the people, They were incredibly helpful. I liked the decor. It was nicely updated. Unfortunately we weren’t pleased with the room at all. When we first walked in the room smelled very musty. We turned air on thinking it might freshen it up. We ended up buying a plug in air freshener. The air conditioner was loud and made an irritating rolling sound. We were too close to an exit and could hear people in and out especially in the early morning. People were yelling down the hall in middle of night. Didn’t sleep well at all.

The wifi never worked for both my iphone and my husband's iphone. The code given is not correct. The front desk gave us a 1-800 number, which did not solve any problem after I talked with them over the phone for more than 20 minutes. The 1-800 number person want to transfer me to a third party to manually connect our iphone and I just lost patience and confidence that they can solve it. I then called the front desk and they didn't care at all. This is the very first time I stayed in a hotel that don't have a working wifi and have a bad attitude about it. NOT recommending this place if you need wifi. Also, the swimming pool is outdoor and is completely useless in the winter. Wish I know this earlier and would have avoided this place.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was super clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is convenient, making it easy to get around Williamsburg. The property itself is quite good—newly renovated facilities, a convenient location, and a nice free breakfast. It’s easy to see why it has a 9.0 rating and overall, it’s worth it. However, I was assigned a room right next to the ice machine and emergency exit. I checked in late at night and didn’t realize the potential for noise. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t mention anything about it, even though I was traveling with kids. Starting as early as 6 a.m., guests began walking around for breakfast, some trying to open the emergency exit—which triggered a loud alarm. The real issue started after 7 a.m, when the emergency exit began functioning as a regular door. Guests continuously came in and out, causing the door to slam shut every 2–3 minutes. The loud banging made it impossible to rest. It was truly exhausting and disrupted our rest completely. Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the main reasons to stay at a nice hotel, and sadly, that didn’t happen here. All in all, this property is ok—but if you're assigned room 126, 128, or any room near the emergency exit, request a room change to avoid a similar experience.

The staff was professional, friendly, and reliable. However, the room was not like the photos we saw when making our reservation. The hotel in general is worn and tired. It's seen better days. Our beds sagged. The walls are paper thin and we could hear conversations from our neighbors. We were also placed in a room next to a mechanical room? It was noisy. The steps to the 2nd floor made funny thunking noises as well. It sounded like someone put carpet on hollow boxes. We checked out 1 night early.

Check-in was quick and easy and front desk staff was very nice! Room was super clean, up to date, and never heard any other guests through the walls or in the hallway. Breakfast was also great; enough choices and clean area! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

Staff at this hotel are so super friendly, helpful and efficient! Gave us great restaurant recommendations at front desk. Called housekeeping for a luggage cart and it arrived in less than a minute. I was having trouble filling my water bottle with the infused water set up, and instantly someone was there to re-arrange it so that I could fill with ease. Amazing customer service for a Comfort Inn!!!!

Check in was a breeze. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was very clean and smelled fresh, better than expected, and parking was close. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices. Area was clean and well kept. I would definitely stay there again if back in the area. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff at Comfort Inn Gateway. They do their best to wait on you quickly and professionally. Everything was clean. Good stay for our family. The manager suggested a really great local restaurant. He helped with our struggle with internet connection. Michele at the front desk kindly answered my questions and was very helpful. Nice outdoor pool. Great for our family. Thank you.

I’ve stayed at this property 2x in the past month. Amazing value. I needed a quick overnight last night while traveling and drove a bit out of my way to stay at this comfort inn bc I knew i would be getting a nice, clean, comfortable place in a nice area with great staff very close to colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary. I hope my daughter goes to college at W&M. This will be my go to hotel if she ends up here;)

Very pleasant stay. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Close to Colonial Williamsburg. My only disappointment was the breakfast buffet. As someone who is allergic to wheat and to milk and who is health conscious, there wasn't anything I could eat. Management, please provide soymilk (or oatmilk or almond milk) and plain oatmeal to your breakfast buffet.

The bed was marvelously comfy and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and responsive. Coffee was undrinkably bad and breakfast looked appealing but was below average in taste & texture. Eggs were flavorless and waffle syrup was sour & artificial tasting.

Excellent experience, great staff and breakfast was amazing. Facility and room were clean, gym and pool were well maintained. We will be checking them out for all future get aways. Family felt secure and safe, great job to the staff on keeping everything so clean.
