The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast

Great stay- staff so friendly. Great atmosphere on Saturday evening with live music in the bar. Food was also very good in restaurant. Service excellent. Spotlessly clean.

The services this hotel proved were excellent! Food in the restaurant was excellent and well priced! Lobby bar- drinks were wonderful but a bit understaffed. Room was perfect complete with turn down service and chocolates on our pillows

We stayed here while we were in Belfast. Modern hotel. Good size rooms and clean. Bathroom very good. Everything in rooms, air conditioning, fridge, safe, chairs and kettle. Close to centre of Belfast about 10 minute walk and 45 minute walk to Titanic Museum. Breakfast was good but the pastries ie croissants were very stale. Only two water bottles in fridge. There is only room for two cars out the front which makes it hard to unpack your car and check in. Parking the car is provided but at a cost of £20 per day.

The staff were excellent and the restaurant was fine for dinner. Breakfast was ok. Lifts/elevators were terrible -- only one working and that was loud and clunky (could hear it from the room), allow plenty of time to get to breakfast as it might require a visit to every floor with the lift getting fuller and fuller along the way.

Great rooms. Bar wasexcellent and parking is convenient across street.

Gavin took amazing care of us. From taking care of our luggage to our car. Plus he booked a blacktop cab tour for us. He was wonderful!!! The gym was lacking. Far too small! Over all an amazing place to stay!!!

Nice hotel, friendly & helpful staff, modern rooms & comfortable beds. Gym not great, pretty small & limited equipment but you can access anytime fitness FOC whilst staying at the hotel as a guest which is really close by & a good add on.

Overall fine. Our room was showing a bit of wear and tear. There were some mosaic tiles missing on the bathroom wall and early signs of mould on the bathroom ceiling. Some of the downlighting in the bathroom and room didn’t work which should have been picked up on a room check. Breakfast was OK but our coffee order was forgotten until we asked again about it. Front desk staff were very helpful.

Clean and comfortable room. Excellent housekeeping. Centre of city with shops close by. Staff friendly, efficient and polite.

Excellent Hotel, really lovely staff, seamless check in and some great recommendations from concierge. I thought the room was lovely however there were some missing details on cleanliness as the mirrors were marked and the shower slip mat needed a clean or replacing.

My experience was not so good. I found the bedroom environment tired dark I couldn’t find anything. There were no sockets for the Hairdressers near the mirror. The bed was not very comfortable nor of good quality. The kettle was difficult to work. I had to ask for someone to show me how to do it the room was cold. I had to get the Instructions on how to work the heating. The room did not heat up until the next morning I had to take this plug out to put my computer in. The box with extras was not cleaned out. I definitely would not rate the hotel as five star. In my opinion it is not. The staff were helloful kind and professional.

Main hotel areas all luxurious and stunning interior design. All staff were friendly and super helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was amazing. We had it in the room. Room had lots of little extras that made it special. Wine, popcorn, water, mints, playing cards, robes and slippers. Bed was comfy. Had a fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend. Room was a bit scruffy, a few mosiac tiles had fallen off in the bathroom, the remnants of a toilet roll sticket were stuck on the towel rail and while the bathroom floor was clean, the edges and corners had not been in a while. Dirty handprints on window. The shower gel was empty. And the pillows were flat and in need of replacing. Carpets in both lifts were in need of a hoover over both days. Another example is one of the pieces of wheaten bread at dinner was rock hard on one end and should never have been served. All minor little things but when paying £260 a night, l expect a fresher room. A 10% tip was included on bill. The service was fantastic and l had intended on leaving 10%, however it would have been preferred that l made that choice rather than it being automatic. Something that l have seen done for larger groups but have never seen done for a group of 2. Like l said, minor things. I do realise that the festive season was crazy busy and the hospitality industry is well understaffed. So l can understand why there may be a back log on maintenence. I enjoyed my stay!! I definitely recommend a visit!

Great short stay in Belfast Hotel was clean central and everyone we met was very helpful

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff; really good breakfast; great cocktails in the bar; 2-10 minute walk from shopping area and cultural attractions; 10-15 minutes from Belfast City Airport. Cleaning of the room could have been better (we found a lot of other people’s hair in the and on the linens, cups/glasses were dirty, crumbs had been left from previous guests) and noise from the main road at the front of the hotel was not conducive to a good night’s sleep - we had to change rooms, but the front desk and concierge teams went out of their way to make sure we were moved to a room we were happy with. Overall a pleasant stay.

I have already told the assistant manager upon check out, but just in case more detail will help, I'll recount here again. Disappointing: Bedding was bottom shelf; specifically the pillows were not only ployestwe stuffed to begin with but need to be retired at this point as they are very lumpy. Those before us less tired upon check in must have rejected the room because there were hairs. TV smashed Clock radio doesn't work Shower moldy Tub doesn't drain Elevator quite middling for a 5* property Lighting specifications throughout are not impressive. I believe the light fixtures over the bed in 607 to perhaps be cuts of pvc pipe I don't know what happened to the original ones. Restaurant - service was great and a great piece of trout; beef and potatoes were bland. The beet appetizer was pretty underwhelming, especially as it was plated for some reason with olive tapenade instead of a nice herbed whipped chevre or ricotta. Smoked salmon one was tasty. Perhaps a bit overpriced overall but do come here for dessert - $5 sauternes! The promising: French press (Though the closest outlet is in the corridor so the pot sits on the floor boiling until done) Carpet Bathroom surfaces Wood paneled walls Climate control Has potential to be, or perhaps was once, a solid 4*. As is, I just don't recommend it. If you are set on it, avoid room 607 and maybe you will be OK. it is hard to imagine one room could be so throughoughly abused without others being overlooked as well... sorry.

Excellent luxurious rooms

Great hotel with lovely staff in both reception and the bar. Great city views from room. Room was excellent and modern with coffee machine and a great shower.

Glass fronted rooms onto Main Street very noisy. Sound proofing of glass non-existent. Felt like window open which was not the case. Based on this experience would not stay at Fitzwilliam Hotel again.

Great location. Lovely hotel- lots of finishing touches- chocs at bed time, nice toiletries, perfect fluffy towels. Great to have a big bath and large walk in shower too! Staff v helpful.

We had a room on the 8th floor with a view over Belfast. The room was spacious with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of voice and the hot elements were served to the table. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fitzwilliam and would definitely recommend it.

Lovely stay , room nice though could hear traffic through the night which disturbed me . Breakfast good only l did find it quite chilly in the restaurant but l do feel the cold .

Great location, fantastic staff, super comfy room.

My wife and I loved the whole stay and experience at the hotel. We loved the extra effort for birthday treats for my wife. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly. Close proximity is a plus for us to go visit places by walking. The dine in food was really delicious, especially the salmon meal. The chicken options were halal which we greatly appreciated. The breakfast buffet we noticed was largely available as breakfast in room option. We were unable to stay for the live performance as there was no space. Important to note that you have to book some things in advance and the receptionists were able to help.

Excellent, classic hotel near city center and walkable from the Belfast Central train station. Very friendly staff, particularly the bellmen, who also act as concierges of sorts. Our room was comfortable and relatively large for a city hotel. Lots of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes, along with shopping and convenience stores. Highly recommended.

Excellent and incredibly friendly staff. From check in to check out, the staff was incredibly helpful. The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting us to places we needed to go while in Belfast. The staff in the bar were incredibly sweet and accommodating. We will never forget the Fitzwilliam and the people there. Great representation of the business through kindness and accommodation. We will definitely recommend highly the Fitzwilliam to everyone and stay there again in our next trip to Belfast.

Reception staff nice and friendly. No parking on site could have been made clearer when booking as a charge also. The service in the bar was shockingly bad and way way off what I have experienced in other five star hotel bars. Host went out of his way to not see me as I was standing 4 feet from him and waited 30 minutes before I got up and ordered my own drink and food at the bar. It’s a shame as the rooms are very nice and good location but bar management is all over the place. Food was 7/10.

Fantastic hospitality and customer service. Everyone from check-in to the concierge and room service was absolutely fantastic.

Just a short weekend break, hotel was really comfortable and convenient, super breakfast and good bar. The staff were super, helpful and friendly and elevated the Fitzwilliam from okay to great.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, on a busy road bustling with people yet when in the hotel you could not hear any noise outside. Perfect for me as a light sleeper. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We came back from dinner to find out door ajar and to our surprise it was a turn down service, dressing gowns set out, chocolates on the pillow, water set out etc. We've just had the loveliest experience. This is how hotels should be run and how customers should be treated! Excellent!!!

Second time staying and absolutely love it. The rooms are first class. The turn down service makes your stay so special!! Paul at the concierge desk was amazing.

I was staying there after my daughter’s wedding. My friend checked me in. The room wasn’t ready at 4pm so the porter took the bags to the room. When I came back late to go to my room the receptionist couldn’t find my booking. After a massive disagreement she gave the key to 2 rooms that friends of mine were in. Eventually the night porter took the list of bookings. He saw my name and gave me a key and thankfully my bags were in the room. It was a terrible end to an amazing day. The manager was very apologetic in the morning but I don’t think I’d stay there again.

Great location, beautiful hotel. The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure your stay is excellent . If they can get it for you they will.

Hotel in a great central location within walking distance of all main places of interest. Staff offered a warm welcome and really helpful and rooms well appointed and with all the amenities that you need. Would definitely recommend

Great location to explore city center!

Love this hotel for its location easy access to travel centre and secure valet parking ( at a charge)if using own vehicle. Right next door to the Belfast Grand Opera House. Easy walking distance to city centre for shopping and entertainment. I look upon it as a luxurious treat when visiting the city for nights at the theatre.

First trip to Belfast and the Fitzwilliam Hotel helped to make it a brilliant experience. Its was a very short walk from the bus station the airport bus arrives at in Belfast, it was just a short walk to the centre of Belfast as well, in fact we walked everywhere from the hotel. The room and bed were excellent and dining options looked good, breakfast was the only meal we had in the hotel but that was brilliant. Overall a great experience to which we are likely to return to in the years to come.

Great location. Nice, big room. The service was fine for the most part. Reception desk and concierge were top notch, always quick to get us a cab or help with our bags. Food was a mixed bag. The daily breakfast buffet was a little spartan compared to others we’ve seen in the UK. It’s supplemented by made to order items. Full Irish was okay, but they struggled with a Benedict, badly burning the muffin and overcooking the egg, then topping it with less than a teaspoon of Hollandaise. The food in the bar was generally excellent though. Recommend the grilled sustainable salmon and vegetarian curry.

Excellent hotel with real classy feel to it in heart of Belfast, close to main train station and great restaurants and pubs. A friendly staff and great breakfast selection, on-site steak house is top notch too, we will be back

Staff were lovely and friendly and so helpful, some of the best I've ever encountered. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, some bits were really nice and some bits (the bacon for example) were awful. I wouldn't have minded as much if it wasn't incredibly expensive, we only ate there once. Overall I loved it here and would happily stop again.
