We arrived on Monday and were informed that pub and grill were closed on Monday's and Tuesdays. It would be nice if we could have a drink before going to bed.

Nice hotel in a great location undergoing. Improvements under new ownership. Unfortunately the bar & restaurant were closed for renovations while we were there. The place has good potential. It’s very family friendly!

Water park is such a unique feature and so much fun. When we stayed, unfortunately the on-site restaurant was closed. Located within walking distance to the waterfront so close to many different food options.

The treadmills in the gym didnt work, no lock on the bathroom door, they dont allow kids in the hot tub and we filtered specifically by hotels that had hot tubs, and the slide didnt open until 3:00 so we couldnt even utilize it.

Good updated rooms. Unfortunately no microwave in rooms. Nice water park. Jacuzzi needs a clean up

The location was nice and convenient to shopping, dining and sites on waterfront. Pool was fun for kids. However we did have some hiccups...room not ready upon arrival -said they would call wnen ready and never did. Tv wasnt working, had to move to a different room mid-trip. The new room, the tub didnt drain. Arcade on site would've been fun but the machine to purchase a card wasnt working. Restaurant was also closed..which they did tell us ahead of time. Pastries available in the morning were nothing special. Rowdy guests at 1am on our floor which kept us up, even after notifying staff. They did offer us 15% off our stay due to the many inconveniences which was nice. Stafg were friendly for the most part. Also didnt like thst you had to request housekeeping the night before otherwise they wont come. Overall a nice area but probably wouldnt stay here again

Quick winter getaway - mainly for the pool/waterslide/hottub. The room was clean and beds comfortable. I was disappointed that the hot tub was not hot. The hotel didn’t post that it was malfunctioning. The last day we were there it was a bit better but not great. Also it could use a deep clean. My son enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Overall a nice stay and close by to lots of restaurants and historic attractions.

They need to work on parking for guests all spaces were taken by people attending an event at pub and we had to park down the street. Also the hot tub was cold water and had cold water coming in the jets. This was the reason we chose the more expensive hotel and then wasn't able to enjoy it.

We had a great stay!! Perfect area! The beds were comfy and the room was clean. My kids loved the water slide and pool. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay long because the chlorine smell is very strong and our eyes were burning lol- that’s a me issue though, I’m sensitive to it. The hot tub was also not working which was disappointing to my husband and I. The water slide is amazing, my kids had a blast!

The room was spacious and spotless. The building looked like that wouldn’t be the case, but inside was great.

I didn't like anything. Whirlpool was filthy.

Bathrooms did not have soap or paper towels for multiple days. Pool area bathrooms were disgusting with sinks full of towels.

I truly love the location of this hotel. It is right in the heart of downtown Plymouth. There is so much to keep the kids busy within the area. My only complaint is regarding cleanliness in the pool area. At the top of the slide "the mayflower" there is water that you can tell has been sitting for a while. You can see mold and algae forming at the top. The pool dividers were also almost brown kind of like a rusting brown color. The water looked fine it was just the surroundings in the pool area. That entire area needs a really good cleaning. Specially the sitting water at the top. If this water gets mixed in with the slide/ pool water it will definitely not be safe for children and adults. Mold is pretty dangerous to our health. Other than that the staff was very friendly and awesome.

Honestly the room was good and the location was great with a quick walk to everything the major downside was the pool it was filthy as was the changing rooms. I dragged my kids out of the pool quickly when I noticed how filthy it was. The girl in there watching over it was only bothered about people in the pool at the bottom of the slide or kids going in the hot tub she literally let everything else slide. A girl was eating ice cream in the pool and left the half eaten tub on the edge of the pool, there were dirty bandaids floating in the pool, kids running round jumping in the pool, a young boy vaping and clearly playing with his girlfriends genitalia under the water was very obvious. I pulled my kids out utterly disgusting. The changing rooms were a disgrace.

Trash in elevator, trash in the front lobby. Pool was germ temperature lukewarm. Bathroom floor was sticky. Beds were way too soft. Hallway ledges dusty.

Would never come back. Only positive is location on Plymouth waterfront district. Took forever for room to be ready. After exhausting day, i pull down the covers in there was a hair in the sheets. I ended up laying towels down and slept on those. Tv was not working and could not be fixed. At least 5 other rooms had aame isdue.Leaking around toilet base. Lobby carpet looks like has not been cleaned in awhile.

Have stayed here before and like it, but this time found hair and a stain on one of the beds sheets.

Areas of the room were noticeably not clean

Room had an odd smell. AC unit in the room was very noisy. Breakfast at CJ’s wait was too long after ordering. Bar service at night was good.

There is an issue with working TV's at this property. This is second time we stayed here where TV did not work. Unable to fix it. Very nice staff member gave us keys to room next door, thinking TV worked. It turned on to Channel 2 and would not let me change channel. It appears to be as a result of the newly renovated rooms. We like this hotel for all other reasons and have been staying here for years. Please fix this issue.

The Staff is great. Very friendly and helpful. The only thing that was an issue was the technology. The internet was down for two days and the television had technical difficulties.

The hotel is well located and within walking distance to the water front and attractions. The big issue we had was the noise level of the air conditioning in our room. My husband had to use ear plugs to sleep and I, who normally hears my husband’s snoring, couldn’t even hear it when he was in the same bed as me!! Most people would say this made for a nice break, however I prefer the snoring over nights with little sleep and headaches in the morning. Definitely something they need to update.

The window in the room was not able to be locked and there was a roof outside that could allow access to the window. The room also has a strong odor that I could not identify. The best part was that it was conveniently located to the venue we were attending and the bed was comfortable.

Sorry to say the inn overall looks very run down and dated. Rooms were dark, bare bones, neglected. Very overpriced at this point. The restaurant is almost always empty despite good food and great staff. Sad to see.

Walls are paper thin.

While I prefer the older historical rooms, the new modern renovations worked fine. Except for the 1 hook in the bathroom. The barn door setup doesn't allow for a hook on the door, and the tiny closet space doesn't have rooms for clothes for 2 people and/or coats/outerwear. Multiple hooks by the door would be helpful for wet raincoats. Shelves over the toilet and towel bars would also be useful to hang up wet towels, especially when you don't want to waste resources by having them replaced every day of your stay. Whoever designed the rooms never actually used them.

I have stayed at the John Carver Inn many times. Love the location. We are able to walk to many restaurants, historic places and shopping boutiques. The 3rd floor rooms have been refurbished recently and the rooms are quite satisfactory.

Nice hotel but we had issues with the room next door coming in after 1am from the bar and continuing their party next door. We could hear everything, woke my husband and I and both kids up. Front desk made a call and a visit to the room and then told me that was all they could do, an hour after we made the first complaint they were still going. I would expect for there to be some sense of urgency or need to remedy but that didn't seem to be the case. Not happy with the way it was handled.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times while on business in the area. The staff are always friendly and the place it clean. We love that it is walkable to many restaurants and shops.

Up to par when it comes to staff and professionalisms. Property/lobby/hallways/all seemed to be cleaned regularly and again was all up to par. We didn’t expect to be booking a room for this trip. But we booked the room late at night and still were able to check in at the late hour it was, and they actually did allow me some extra check out time after explaining that as happy as we were to be back home in MA/Plymouth. We were there to attend my aunts services as she unexpectedly passed. The staff was so understanding, very empathetic to our whole ordeal, and it made our unexpected trip home a little bit easier. With the tiniest of things such as kind words, or even allowing an extra hour for us to check out. Thank you so very much for everything staff did during our stay!

The staff wasn’t very helpful asked for towels 3 times and didn’t get any

Girls at the desk were very friendly and helpful.

Sam was wonderful upon checking in early and accommodating us! We had an issue where the door lock failed and we were locked out of our room. The chief engineer came to the property right away and was able to get us in our room so we could get on belongings and move to a new room! He was very kind and helpful! Also the night auditor(forgive me, I cannot remember her name), was wonderful in getting us moved into a new room on the same floor right away because it was late and she allowed us to put the kids to bed. Additionally, the second night we were there we found a very small bunny by our car and she assisted our daughter in moving it to a safer location because it seemed to be injured. I thought that was very sweet because our daughter was heartbroken for the little guy and not having it’s mother. Melissa and Dee were very understanding and compassionate towards the situation with the room lockout. They were professional and respectful of the inconvenience, and found a way to make the situation better. In all the service at The John CarverInn Plymouth was wonderful and made the stay worthwhile! Thank you!

We arrived earlier than expected and the staff was very accommodating.

Staff was extremely rude!! They dont offer parking so i had to sit in my car for 2 hours trying to fond a spot after we had already checked in. We ended up checking out early. Horrible experience.

Just not like it was in the past, we always stay here and this time was the most disappointing. We love the location and have stayed here atleast 6 times. The last few trios have not been great. The property is starting to look rundown however this time tge customer service was horrible!

Staff was great and helpful! Wonderful staff! Nick at the front check in was fabulous and helpful. Would stay again if we are ever in that area again.

It was extremely difficult to find parking. There were two birthday pool parties happening so the pool was packed. Staff seemed annoyed at check in. Room was okay, but the “view” was a brick wall. Noises from the hall (doors opening/locking) kept my littles awake late because it sounded like someone was trying to open our door. The pool needed a deep cleaning. They had many pool rules, but no one was following them, making for some unsafe situations. My daughter scraped her arm inside the pool- there was no first aid/bandaids available. Kids won tickets on the arcade, but had to spend more money to get more tickets since the cheaper ticket “prizes” were “unavailable” despite being able to see them in the kiosk. No breakfast included- food was overpriced, cold, and they repeatedly made errors (asked for a hamburger for kids meal got a cheeseburger they reordered and still sent out another cheeseburger). Loved the area and being close, but would stay somewhere else next time. The parking issue alone was a turn off- they should have spots reserved for overnight guests.

My family was very disappointed we booked a one night stay on the Fourth of July so we could have easy walkable access to all the events including parade & fireworks. I called to confirm we could park before checkin and told yes. The reason for our stay was to make things easy for the family with two kids. I was that they would be taking plate numbers to ensure only guests were parked at the hotel. This was not the case. When we arrived there were no parking spots and were told- you’re not official guests until check in time. So we parked about a mile away from the hotel and walked to the parade about 2 miles away. Later in the day we checked in, parked and went out to fish at a nearby pond. When we came back the lot was filled again, likely due to the fireworks that evening. I saw people with dogs and wagons getting out of their cars (not guests). The hotel was not checking plates and actual guests could not Park. We did see the fireworks but ended up going home instead of staying the night. Additionally, the pool area needed repair, the deck was gross and falling apart, the tables outside chipping, the curtains in the bathroom changing rooms full of mold. Overall the place was old and falling apart. However the room we were in did seem newer and redone recently. Lastly, the restaurant attached to the hotel was poor on all accounts. Although we had a very nice waitress, the food, atmosphere and time it took to get the food was terrible. Don’t go here!!!!!

Proximity to all that we wanted to do in Plymouth and a small distance from the waterfront and it's crowds and noise. A peaceful location and stay.

Great location. right in the middle of downtown plymouth. Walk to the water, parks, restaurants, the Rock etc. Hotel is a little dated but good price and rooms were pretty updated. Enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.

Centrally located, you can walk to the Mayflower II or the Grist Mill. The food in the dining room was delicious both for dinner and breakfast. The pool was cute and great for families.

This is a fun hotel with the arcade and pool. We have stayed here before. I would say this time that the common area such as stairways, hallways, and pool area were lacking in the cleanliness department. Our room itself was clean and the beds comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel has very very slow service, at least for breakfast. This is unfortunate, because the food is good, but we did not keep eating there during our stay due to how slow it was.

The restaurant is closed for renovation. Construction sounds began at 8AM. Complimentary coffee, pastry and fruit was available in the lobby. It was good.

We had a great stay. The hotel is a short walk from everything. The breakfast at the attached restaurant was great. I highly recommend this if you are in Plymouth.

CJ's was great and Bartender was a lot of fun, breakfast waitress was awesome

This is a great base for Plymouth - 4 minutes walk to the rock - with plenty of parking and large comfy rooms. All the room amenities you would expect, nice quiet room, great shower. Staff were friendly & super helpful with maps and restaurant recs. Only slightly disappointing point was that the restaurant was on limited opening hours but luckily there was a pub style restaurant across the street that was great.

I would like to see a breakfast and stuff there.They don't serve breakfast.That was one bad thing that I didn't like about it.You pay all that money?There's no continental breakfast.There's nothing no microwaves in the rooms.That's the only problems in discrepancy.I had otherwise the staff was nice and good

“They were just holding it together” it was supposed to have a breakfast bar, but it was a couple of pastries and a couple of apples, at best. They served coffee, but no one kept up on the breakfast table at all. If you can handle the mediocre accommodations and staff assistance, the location was perfect.

Just a quick overnight stay. But, an easy check in and the room was nice. The pool looks fun, but we didn’t have time to use it. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday nights, which would have been nice to know.. so we had to find another place but thats easy in Plymouth.
