Sleep Inn Fredericksburg North

First the soda machine was out of order. Then the ice machine was out of order. Lastly the water fountain was out of order. I needed all of the above. Had to ask for a new remote for the TV. No big deal compared to the above. Rate was very nice and low. The room was fine EXCEPT like all hotels, the pillows are huge and painful to a person's neck. Unfortunately I didn't have my pillow with me so I slept poorly. The woman at the desk was very nice however.

There is NO car charger at this property. Expedia has it wrong on the website. They have never had a charger and have no plans to add one. We drove to this hotel specifically because of the charger. Not the hotel's fault and I did complain to Expedia.

Rooms were dirty, no elevator

Where to start? First impression, the hall had a bad smell. Carpet was filthy in the hall (stained) so I assume that’s what it was or a sewer issue. The room smelled musty. So I turned on the AC fan to circulate the air . A/C was very loud. The room did have amenities which was nice. Mini fridge, iron, hairdryer, tv etc. The mattress was springy and not very comfortable. The back door into the parking area was exit only. My room was close to the back, so I parked there. But I had to walk the entire length of the building to get to the lobby to get back in. That was super inconvenient since there is a key card lock on it and no sign warning of no reentry. The snack machine was out of order. There were some holes in the shower stall where I assume a fitting had been removed. The holes hadn’t been filled in. I found a drill bit left on the bathroom counter. The holes made me paranoid so I hung a towel over them. The main thing about the room was that I could hear everything going on in the rooms around me. Some people came back to their room at 3:30 am and they were talking and it was like they were right next to me. I had ear plugs in, but it woke me up - Their doors opening and closing. Their toilet flushing. I couldn’t get back to sleep. Since my trip was a business trip, not getting a good night’s sleep affected my performance. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel mainly based on the lack of sound proofing. The front desk people were pleasant.

The tv was fuzzy and only a couplecof channels. All tge ice machines were out of order. Place needs major upgrades

Advertised hot breakfast. I picked it and that was a reason. I inquired at the desk when I arrived and was told it ran from 7am to 1030am. I hustled back there after running the USMC half marathon and arrived at 940am. No breakfast or anything. It probably was never even set up. Ice machine was broken. Had a sign that said ask front desk for ice. I asked for ice for my camelback for the race. Clerk said no ice

The property is in a decent area; walking distance to restaurants, and stores. Unfortunately, there is construction next door to the hotel which does cause noise within the rooms. The back door has the ability give customers keycard access to the hotel, however, the mechanism isn't functioning. As a result, the door is either propped open by customers, or locked and customers must go around the building to gain entry. The main problem I had with the hotel was regarding a lack of basic understanding of ADA law. The law is quite clear, you cannot ask for documentation or proof of a service dog's certification. Unfortunately, staff refused to allow me to explain the law. So, here it is: What questions can a covered entity's employees ask to determine if a dog is a service animal? A. In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog, require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person's disability. My son has a legitimate service dog. He needs this dog for his disabilities. Upon entry to the hotel a staff member asked for the dog's certification. I tried to explain the ADA law to her. She demanded proof and then photocopied the training certificate to "prove to staff the dog is a service dog."

Hall carpet dirty.. rooms are reasonable.. ice machine not working.. good beds.. friendly checkin staff member.. not the best property but if you are on a budget its you cant expect hilton quality

Phone did not work....smoke detector had no one to replace batteries...ice machine on fritz...breakfast area had only 3 tables for 2..no elevator...wouldn not stay there again

Despite the property being dated, the cleanliness of the rooms and facilities were awesome. The towels and linens were really clean and fresh!

This hotel was dirty, the room smelled musty and like cigarette smoke. When we asked for another room we were told they didn’t have any. Then we witnessed people checking in who didn’t have previous reservations. We chose to leave and find a different hotel.

The rooms smelled of grime and filth. My first room was missing its smoke detector, a serious safety concern. Both bedside lamps also did not work. They moved me rooms, and my second room also was missing the smoke detector. The front staff was nice, but it does not make up for the serious safety concerns and lack of cleanliness of the place.

Our room had a pungent odor of what seemed to be cat spray and mildew. I was checking the mattress for bedbugs etc (as I do at every hotel I visit) to find significant spots of mold on both the mattress and the mattress pad as well as some significant staining on the mattress. Some of the lighting in the room did not work, and our key had to be reassigned 2 separate times in order for it to work in our door. Since I am newly pregnant and my husband has severe allergies to both cats and mold, we chose to leave. It seemed like asking for a different room would not significantly help or change anything, so we checked out the same night and left. I unfortunately would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Hotel was filthy - mold in the bathroom, lock broken, wallpaper peeling & moldy, paint chipped, Didnt try breakfast just wanted to get out of there. Clerk at front desk was very nice.

1. Place smells like mold 2. Room 122 there's a gaping hole where the refrigerator was 3. Room 124 the refrigerator doesn't work and the toilet runs-loudly so pick your poison 😒 4. The ONE washing machine was out of order so don't be fooled that they have "laundry services" available 5. Terrible TV reception so bring your own device 6. Again, the damp, moldy smell is terrible if you gave allergies or are sensitive to mold be aware

Room had full of smoke smell and can’t bear, though the hotel claims it as smoke free hotel. Small cockroaches around the bed and rest room. But rest room was clean. Area and room carpet was dirty to the most. Opted this hotel mainly for breakfast and met the expectation. Boiled egg should be prepared in the morning rather than pre cooked and refrigerated. But room was not to the expectation, for additional 20 bucks we could’ve got better hotel nearby.

Very very moldy

The air conditioner did not work the greatest, my kids and I were very warm. The walls were peeling. I saw a roach crawling on the wall. They do not offer cribs or pack and plays.

Smelled like weed and had roaches in the room. Most people staying there were living there.

The mini fridge was dirty, juice and food stains. The floor had stains on it. Room had a heavy humidity to it even with the A/C on. Pieces were missing from the shower handle. Customer service was great but there were a lot defects.

The bed was very small paid for a queen but it was a full ! Shower very dangerous they porcelain where u stand

The TV only had 5 channels the telephone didn't work. The carpeting in the hallway was filthy what the worst was the homeless person that was living in the parking lot. Across from where I parked my car not accepts not acceptable.

Reserved rm with queen bed but had a double, tired looking building, worn carpet, heat a/c unit did not work properly

Room was a bit dated but clean which is all that matters. The pillows were aweful but the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a bit small but clean and workable. I would stay there again.

Property is old, not overly clean in hallways, room was OK, bed was comfortable, but all needs a redo. Walls appear thin so you can hear everyone and dining area space is so limited.

Okay for an overnight. Room is very small and bathroom extremely small like a cruise ship bathroom The desk staff was excllent and helpful

I always stay here when traveling from NJ TO NC. It’s the perfect midway point, our favorite restraunt is close by (Alpine Chef- amazing German food). The staff is always friendly upon arrival and leaving. I love they have quick grab food in the am and even somewhat healthy options! Above all, price is perfect! The rooms are ok with some quick fix needs but totally worth overlooking based on our needs for a clean room, location, price, and awesome front desk staff. You can’t go wrong here.

You get what you pay for. It was simply a 3/5 star place. Manager was great. Night staff was slow to attend the front desk. Room was just 3/5. Dated and just a little older. Doors had marks, etc.

I attempted to get a refund for the last day. The property never answered, so Expedia just ignored everything. I was supposed to be called the next day. Now it’s been 10 days, and absolutely no answer back. Just ghosted. There are bugs in the room, and loud neighbors the entire night. Yelling, and drinking in parking lot. My son died and I had to fly home. The owner of my company came to take my place. It was embarrassing that I picked that hotel. He stayed 1 night and was disgusted and checked out

The front desk staff working on november 27th was very rude. She with held my drivers license and debit card over the counter when i was making a complaint about the payment policy. She was smiling while she did all of this .i spent the rest of the money my family had on this booking and this was explained to her while she was taking my license. She stated she was trying to be nice to me , as she was withholding my belongings over the counter . While i understand the payment policy , i dont understand how someone who works in customer service, yet treats customers so terribly. After my husband went back in to request a refund , she insuiated he was dumb by refusing to explain the refund policy and stating , " you dont work in this business , so you wouldnt know " im almost sure we arent the first to review this employee.

I received a voicemail at 4:30pm the day of check-in letting me know my reservation was being canceled because the hotel was overbooked and I could contact Expedia for a refund. I had to scramble at the last minute to find another room on my drive from Florida to RI. Luckily, I was just a few minutes from the Sleep Inn in Smithfield NC and was able to get the one rooms they had left. The staff at that location was extremely kind and helpful.

Clean, quiet and delightful staff.

There was police activity happening next door. The area seemed unsafe.

Motel staff was friendly & helpful. Quick check-in. Location is convenient to I-95 & Hwy 17. Great value for the price!

Hotel was great. I wish breakfast would last longer than 9 oclock!

Breakfast was EXCELLENT!!! We were on the second floor, and there was no elevator so we had to lug bags up the stairs. Bed was comfortable. Sink faucet dripped all night. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The breakfast choice is what brought the rating down. I thought it would be more choices.

The carpets are old and do not look the cleanest, the hallway to our room reeked of marijuana and could still be smelled in our room. The “hot” water and coffee for the continental breakfast was cold. The staff, however. were friendly and courteous.

This is a nice clean hotel. Rates were reasonable for the stay we had. It was quiet and felt safe. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, even when we arrived after 11 at night. The bathroom showed the most wear but it was clean.

It was quiet and great for one night and getting back on the road. The breakfast was just enough too.

The place was immaculate! We had a great stay. It was quiet and bed was very comfortable. The room was very bright, clean and well designed. Breakfast was great too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
