Baymont Inn & Suites San Marcos

Its a very basic place. Price is suitable. Our room was clean, just fine for what we needed it to be, which was just a place to crash. Only issue I had was 1 of the exterior doors to the parking lot didn't lock/shut.

It was quiet, but it would have been nice to have a heated pool.

Nice location, but very outdated! And No elevator have to go up stairs.

It was terrible experience since the beginning first our room was dirty it was change 2 times to another room. Then they asked us if we wanted our room clean i said yea and left our door open when we got there thank god nothing was missing. The hotel needs a lot of repairs! Have roaches in the bathroom! Gym was closed!

Very nice staff. But the pool was freezing because they left the outdoor door open and the sauna wasn't working (with no answer for when it would be fixed) and the hot tub was nonexistant. The rooms were OK. The strong smell of cleaning solutions was evident and this was not great but at least I appreciated that the rooms were cleaned. The TV was set up to have Netflix and other internet connecting capabilities but none of them worked. And the breakfast was subpar.

Arrived to check in. It was a quick process. No issues. Parking lot was a little sketchy since some areas were dark. Not all outdoor lights working. Carpet and ceiling were a total mess. As soon as I stepped in, noticed a roach come into the room. Hallway has carpet, room has regular floor. Bottom of door has too much space that bugs can come in. Bed lining looked as it had not been changed as it was all wrinkled. I used my own lining since that was kind of gross. Bed was really comfortable. The door lock was very unsecure as you can see a huge gap on the door and lock. I used my own lock as a second protection.

Construction would be the excuse, but not accurate. Ac units smelled. holes drilled in walls, crickets everywhere- no shower curtain, and I could go on, but I wont. Pool was green.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was neat & clean. Plenty of towels. Bed was very comfortable. Good pillows too. FYI - there is an indoor pool but it is not heated so the water was not warm enough to swim. (Dec 6th & it was 39 degrees overnight). Typical continental breakfast.

This hotel is an older property and "under renovation" getting some needed updates. It has areas that still need painting and hopefully some new hallway carpet in the future BUT what really stands out is the cleanliness of the rooms, excellent cleaning staff and friendly front desk staff. Our double bed room was compact and very sterile in appearance. Everything white, no carpet, no pictures on the walls and metal bed frames. Again BUT, all was clean, neat, great mioor lighting and we could smell the cleanliness in the hallways as well. We had a 4 day stay and saw how efficient the cleaning staff was. We had issues with the side doors not reading our key. While frustrating after telling the front staff we noticed the following day the reader had been fixed. Breakfast was the worst part of the stay, very limited options. Overall this was a clean and nice stay.

Carpet on the stairs is really bad. It does not have elevator to go to the second floor.

The bathroom ceiling was covered in mold Sheets had blood stains and burn holes in them Ac in room didn't work Trash overflowing in parking lot from trashcan

Roaches and just over all dirty , restroom had stains and I just broke out w a rash

FIRST ROOM HAD NO a/c. shower had hair from previous guest. Pile of dust and debris under furniture. No instructions got the tv. eunice holding tv was dirty. Water pooled by the door from the next room. Breakfast area had dry waffles and no sugar free syrup. Front clerk seemed very unhappy with his lob. We won’t be back to this hotel.

Rooms were dirty , smelt horrible, had roaches

Upon arrival a lot of construction trucks area did not feel welcoming or safe Upon entering hotel room was not properly cleaned bathroom toilet was dirty trash can had trash and toilet paper was2/3 empty had a four night stay only stayed 1 night and had to book another hotel

The room was newly remodeled, and the bed was super comfortable. The only reason i didnt give a 5 star review is because the Hotel doesnt have an elevator. That is important info for someone who may have issues climbing stairs. Otherwise, everything was supurb!

Room was clean with updated furniture and fixtures. It was pleasant.

The hotel has been recently remodeled, so everything is brand new. The room was very spacious, the bed was super comfortable and the stag was really kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we come back.

The hotel is under renovation and not in prime condition. My room had no bedside lamps; it had one low-quality floor lamp in the back corner of the room. The clerk said new bedside lamps are on order but have not come in. So the room was unreasonably dark. Also the TV did not work. The hotel advertises a hot breakfast buffet area, but that too is inoperable currently, so their alternative was a grab-bag breakfast which I had no interest in grabbing but assume it was a danish, fruit and coffee. So I had to go to a fast food restaurant next door and spend extra money, to get what was supposed to have been included with my room. I'm sure the hotel will be nice when the work is complete, but had I realized the current status I absolutely would not have stayed there.

Friendly front desk staff. Room was clean and Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi kept going offline throughout my stay but it was free so I can’t complain.

The rooms are modern and spacious. However, there is no lift if you are on the first floor which is a bit inconvenient. The breakfast is extremely limited and pre-packaged in a takeaway bag without any options for fruits etc.

For the price it was what it was. Safety lock on the door was missing. House keeping doesn't pay much attention or they'd have noticed the tissue whoever stayed before me shoved in the peephole. No security lock on the door that leads to an adjoining room. Probably won't stay again just because of limited safety features.

Check in was fantastic, and clerk very fast and friendly. Room was ok, TV didn't work well. Property in the middle of painting projects, but still nice.

Check in was quick. Bed was very hard. Not comfortable at all. Toilet never quit running. No hand soap. Continental breakfast was okay. Won’t stay there again. For the cost, it wasn’t a good value.

The online images weren't this property. Old, dirty, lights out in parking lot on one side. People party in parking lot late at night with loud music. People arguing in parking lot around midnight. At 1am loud noise in our room and wall vibrating from it. Couldn't sleep, reported it to office, he said he would cone check it out never saw him.

Autumn was wonderful, knowledgeable, and very smoothly got us checked in and settled.

The front dest person was the nicest person ever. She was so helpful and polite. She made the check in process so easy.

I had requested a early check in time before noon and they were very accommodating. Will be back.

If you are looking for an affordable place to stay, the Baymont is comfortable and so convenient! I spent two nights there while my son was at college orientation. Check-in was smooth and the front desk clerk was very friendly. Before I unpacked anything, I noticed the lock on my door needed to be fixed, so she was quick to switch me to another room. The beds were clean and comfortable. A/C worked fine. The morning coffee good and hot. There was no mention of breakfast when I made my reservation, so I was delighted that they provided a brown-bag breakfast - a pastry, granola bar, and oatmeal cream pie. I ate the granola bar and saved the other snacks for later. This is an older building. Some of the rooms are currently being renovated so there were construction materials and workers around the building. They were polite and busy doing their own thing. After business hours, the doors require keys to enter, so I felt safe during my stay. The Baymont is quite possibly the most conveniently located lodging to the San Marcos Outlet stores. There is also a Starbucks, McD's, and Whataburger right next door and plenty of other dining options nearby.

The clerk kept insisting I was not pronouncing my last name correct. Was I ashamed of being Hispanic!! Went on n on. Roaches in bathroom. Smelled dingy n musty. I’m very allergic to mold n mildew. Sink not draining in bathroom. If it hadn’t already charged me I would have left. Will never stay again

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Baymont Inn in San MarcosTx, by the Outlet Mall and were absolutely blown away by the transformation since our last visit before the remodel. The renovations have completely revitalized the property, turning it into a modern and luxurious retreat. The new decor is stunning, with tasteful design choices that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with all the modern amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. One of the best features of is its prime location. It's conveniently close to a variety of shopping options, making it easy to enjoy a day out without having to travel far. The management and staff deserve special recognition for their exceptional service. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to ensure our stay was perfect. Overall, our stay at Baymont Inn exceeded all expectations. The impressive remodel, combined with its convenient location and outstanding service, make it a top choice for anyone visiting the area. We can't wait to visit again!!

This was a great stay at a good price. Very convenient and close to the outlet mall. Clean, quiet, would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was a joke at least what I got at 6AM when breakfast was to begin.

There was no continental breakfast. We got a brown bag with a granola bar and Little Debbie cakes.

The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom. We were not aware there was not an elevator available. We had a room on the second floor. It was hard for us to take the stairs carrying our luggage and other personal items. The breakfast in a brown bag had all sweet items. They need to add healthy snacks and fruit.

The hotel was nice and quiet. However, the breakfast was cereals and bread. As well as juice and milk. But the staff was very kind.

You get what you paid for. Only accurate picture was the entrance to hotel. Room are super run down, cleanliness was questionable, beds were uncomfortable, and breakfast was a grab and go bag of sugar(granola bar, danish, powdered donuts and coffee).
