The alarms going off, i understand was not the fault of the hotel, was annoying, and lasted over 35 minutes. Lack of elevator use was an inconvenience. I was on the 4th floor, and that was a climb.

Construction around property. Construction on property which limited parking. Ice machine not working on our floor. Telephone not working in room so unable to call front desk. Heavy bleach smell on sheets and pillow cases. Not what I was expecting for $150/night.

There were only 2 cups in our room, and 2 tiny (postage sized) pillows for a King size bed. The front desk person brought up 2 extra pillows and we picked up our extra cups for the room. The bathroom is very small. You had to close the bathroom door to access the toilet paper. For being a suite, I expected something better, although the size of the suite otherwise was ok.. The breakfast was as usual at a Hampton, which is fine. The building was being remodeled so the pool was closed and there were common areas that were dusty when you walked on the carpet (which actually had uneven flooring on the second floor in the middle of the hallway). The uneven spots were ok for us, but if a person had any problems with walking or balance, it may trip them. I really think that because of the remodeling issues, the price for the room should have been less than $152/night.

Pipes had burst causing water to pour out of the elevator. Elevators were not operational, high pitched alarm was persistent, both as you walk into the hotel and around any elevators. Had to haul luggage up and down 4 flights of stairs to get to the room, as the elevator was down the entire visit. During breakfast, there were ants crawling on the table. The staff was helpful and friendly, and breakfast was tasty. Bed was firm and uncomfortable, pillows were thin and provided no support. The TV only had basic cable, basically over the air TV. As much as I like Rosanne reruns, I was very disappointed that it was all I had to watch for 4 days. I was shocked that this was a Hilton property and I won't be booking with a Hampton inn and suites again.

Second stay here. Good central location with nice and friendly staff. Elevator out of service due to repair of the elevator floor, but the 2nd one was working so not too much of a hassle. Overall would recommend!

Older hotel….being remodeled supposedly. Hallway smelled almost like a gas leak. Room was ok. Room was not cleaned, nor beds made after first night. Breakfast was ok, but just ok. The room served its purpose, but wasn’t what I would expect paying for a Hampton.

Our stay started great with check in, however when we found ants coming out of outlets and in the beds there was limited staff and resources to remedy the problem. The young lady at the front tried to be as helpful as possible but it was her first night and she wasn’t prepared to handle the issue in sold out hotel. We were given a can of bug spray and new bedding to fix ourselves. Everyone else in our party said their rooms were great! Breakfast was good and the pool was clean. Just an unfortunate experience in our room that cost $250 for one night…

There was an ant problem the whole weekend we were there. We did let management know. They sprayed once but ants were still all over the bathroom. Staff was good but problem was not solved. We would just wash the ants away in the tub and kill the ones that were on the floor, door and walls. We made the best of it not really being upset. I'm sure any other guest would have made a big deal. Hope it gets fixed.

I work out in my hotel rooms. I can tell you my room wasn't vacuumed properly. Nothing gets under my skin more then being put in a room after someone else has traveled with a pet and the room not being thoroughly cleaned. If theres dog hair there, its safe to assume the parasites are there too! Hotel was dated. Booking elsewhere when in town again.

Hard to find the hotel, tucked back behind a Comfort Inn that was is much disrepair. The Hampton Inn looked nice from the outside, the hotel lobby and staff were also nice. I was placed in a room that was handicap accessible - a huge door to the bathroom and a lot of open space, with dated furnishings. The room was dimly lit, the black out curtain was a bit tricky to manipulate, I found a sign that told me how to work it. It appeared that previous patrons tried to pull it down without success. The pillows on the bed were very small, like half the size of a normal pillow. Overall I felt safe, but I think I would try another hotel for my next visit to San Marcos.

First room I was assigned, the a.c. was not working. The staff was quick to get me another room that was plenty cool and comfortable. Room was nice. Phone didn’t work as they built a cabinet over the outlet but - minor detail. Elevator felt like it was on its last leg. Overall, breakfast was good, room was nice and I enjoyed my stay.

First and foremost the beds are awful. Deformed mattresses that will guarantee backache the next day. Skip this place. I felt during check-in that the hotel was doing me a favor. The guy looked up the reservation and couldn't find them when he found them he acted like doing me a favor. They have no drinking water available either in the rooms or by the lobby. The bathroom was not in good shape, the shower drips water, and the ceiling has filtration (room 314). There is a sound all night that feels like a cel phone in vibrating, I asked other people in my party about it and they felt it too. Good luck trying to sleep with that. I woke up at 5 am to a bad back ache that will be with me for a couple of days for sure.

Thermostat was broken and heat would not turn off in the room. Lighting in bathroom was terrible. No toilet paper holder. Toilet paper sat on the sink counter. Desk top wood was gouged. TV control did not function. The room was clean, the desk staff were helpful, and the breakfast was very good.

Made reservation 2.5 months prior to stay, upon arrival was informed they over booked and I was being moved to another hotel. I asked them if they were moving me because I booked through hotels.com and the General Manager said yes. Manager has no customer service skills. On the bright side, the Wingate by Wyndham they moved me to is fantastic. Save yourself a little money and book with Wingate in the first place.

The facility was clean and well decorated. The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Breakfast selections were good, with hot and cold options to suit a variety of dietary needs. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to request a room away from the side where the UPS center is located because that was a bit noisy in the morning. But even with that, I would stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Some aspects are a little dated, the room and bathroom lighting was less than ideal, and the breakfast was not the best (definitely not accommodating for my gluten/dairy restrictions). However, these are all just preferences, not life or death. the property was clean, safe, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Pleasantly surprised. You never know these days. There was some repairmen in the building but just show there commitment to the guests. Beds were very comfortable and had enough covers to keep you warm and even an extra blanket in the closet. Everything was clean and spotless. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise. Pretty typical in selection except they had great bacon instead of the same tired sausages. Another great feature they had a strawberry mix in the waffle mix to go with the vanilla waffles. Very tasty. Rounded out by with several varieties of fresh fruit. We always check out Hampton in first when reserving and this is one of their greatest ones.

Purchased an open layout and could not have asked for better! We got in late but everything was very comfortable. We noticed some ants in the bathroom but very minimal and didn't cause any harm. Breakfast was great, lots of options! Would absolutely book again!
