Hotel water was turned off from 10PM until 6AM our first day of arrival. While water was off we had very little sleep that night as the noise in the faucets was unbearable. Came back on Saturday to housekeeping service, however they left our room unlocked with the safety latch open making our room accessible to anyone. Not happy and we reported this to the hotel staff. During this same evening we had guests above us allowing their children to run/scream in their room until 11:30 PM. Hotel location was good, and we enjoyed the free breakfast. However due to the stated issues above we will not return.

DO NOT stay here!!!! Stayed June 16-18. First night I was informed water would be turned off from 11pm until 6 am for emergency plumbing problem. I had to rush back from dinner to be able to shower. Had to leave very early for a morning meeting so would have no water to get ready. But even WORSE they were drilling on pipes all night. 2 am. 4 am…so loud it was vibrating my room! I was hoping 2nd night would be better but overheard someone in the elevator that said no water. It was 1030 when I got back to hotel. I went to ask at the front desk and they gave me the piece of paper on the counter that said no water 10 pm - 6 am. I had no idea they were turning off water again and this time even early. I was not notified!!! And again ALL night drilling. Horrible experience. I seriously thought about leaving at 3 am but was afraid to go down to the parking garage alone at that hour!!

The staff were great. The time to check in was slow. A water pipe busted over the pool and they were informing all of us. It would have been nice to have known before we arrived. There was one poor lady listening to all of us. She was very patient and lovely. I don't know where her coworkers were. Not being able to flush the toilet or shower between 10pm and 6 am so the water pipe could be fixed was not pleasant. However, the complimentary breakfast is very good.

Upon check-in, I was told the water would be off for the next two nights from 10pm-6am. While I understand things happen, this situation shohkd have been communicated sooner than when I was there to check in. It was a known issue and the water being off was a planned event (there were flyers available at the front desk). I was basically given the option (during check-in) to proceed with the reservation, or cancel it. If i had been communicated with sooner, I could have nade other arrangements, but to wait and tell me at check in left me in a bind. I did not have the time to go and research/call other hotels to see about availability. The hotel didnt even offer to kove people to another property nearby. We were given the option of no water, or go find something else. Also, the noise while they did the repair overnight was extremely loud and made it nearly impossible to sleep.

Hotel itself is fine and well located. But the hotel service was nearly unethical. When I arrived there was a long line to check in. After 1,5 hours of waiting in line and finally completed check in, the front desk agent casually informed me that they would shut off the water from 10pm to 6am because they were scheduled to fix the pool. There would not even be water to flush the toilet. As I checked in at 6pm and had to leave in the middle of the ight to catch my flight, this was extremely inconvenient. The agent said if I was unsatisfied I should feel free to rebook somewhere else. This happend after I had parked my car in their garage and paid for it, and waited in line for 1.5 hours! I asked them why they didn't text or email me before my arrival or at least keep making this announcement to the people waiting in line to check in, the agent said the manager couldn't allow them to. This was totally unacceptable since apparently this was work was scheduled and not something out of their control. I had no choice but to stay. Bought a big bottle of purified water from the supermarket and got on with it. Horrible experience, especially considering all those families bringing their kids and elderly.

Hotel was under going plumbing repairs. They told us water would be cut off from 10pm-6am. A small inconvenience but we were fine with it. What they did not disclose was that we would also be kept awake all night with drilling and hammering sounds for 2 nights in a row. It was miserable.

The food was amazing. The rooms, however, need complete revamps. They are in very poor condition. The couch had stains on it and was torn, the bathroom felt dirty and the door was off it’s hinges. The carpeting in public areas felt dirty. It needs attention to make it an enjoyable stay.

My allergies were horrible in hotel. I went to pick something up off the floor that I dropped and saw massive dust in corner and under bed. Explains why my eyes were on fire. Room had its share of wear and tear. We were on 12th floor and sirens and noise from the street kept waking up up. It was so loud even from that high up. Elevators were crazy slow. Breakfast was good. Not much experience with staff, there were not much around but the ones we did see seemed nice

In need of upgrading. Sinks in bedroom and hallway had no water. No one answered the phone when you called the front desk or housekeeping. Bathroom was dirty and old (mold in the shower). Carpet felt dirty. Front room was dark and dingy. Sofa bed mattress was thin and old and very broken in.

Thr pool was closed. Our bathroom floor grout was black but white under the sink, the shower was out of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We had a coffee maker, but no coffee was left to use with it. There were various aspects of the room and hotel in disrepair (lamphades, sprinklers, peeling wallpaper). No answer when calling the front desk for shampoo or towels repeatedly, had to take the elevator down and ask in person. Overall needs improvement in cleaning, attentiveness to stocking room with basic supplies, and staff to answer the phone.

For the amount of money it cost to get a room for one night, and the fact that this is part of the Hilton chain, I would expect that the amenities in the room would be clean, updated and workable. The bathroom door in our room was so warped that it couldn't pull close. The wall by the shower handle looked awful, with chipping/bubbly paint and the tub itself looked dirty from years of use. Even the front door looked very out of shape with chipped/bubbling paint. Found hair on a towel and a lamp in our room wasn't working. The bed was also very uncomfortable. Additionally, the hotel needs more signage for information on where you need to go to drop off luggage. We went up the elevators to the front desk only for the staff to tell us that luggage needs to be left with the bell hop at the desk downstairs. We then proceeded to wait 10-15 mins as a line formed behind us also looking to do the same. No doubt they only had one person working as bell hop. The breakfast was the only good part of the stay. I'd highly recommend staying at at a different hotel in the area, all things considered.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience with the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. Upon check-in, I was assigned a room that was immediately unacceptable due to numerous cleanliness issues, including blood on the toilet paper, dirty and stained towels, rusted tub conditions, and unclean furniture. I was reassigned to another room that was equally unsatisfactory, with similar cleanliness problems, stained furniture, and unvacuumed floors. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told none were available, which only added to my frustration. Given the lack of response from both staff and management, I was forced to leave the hotel immediately. This experience was completely unacceptable.

Pretty much everything else was great about this hotel. The only issue was that the rooms are not sound-proof. I could hear people talk in my next door room. Also, the sirens from emergency vehicles was annoying.

Everything was great except the beds. I found the mattress to be very uncomfortable and the pull out which we HAD to use was just awful, like it was original from the 80s. No padding just a bar in the middle of your side. Come on Hilton upgrade those mattress!

The room was very comfortable; the layout was nice. elevators were very fast. The breakfast was very good with the amount and selection of food. Happy hour was very nice with the drinks, but the food choice was rather poor. The bathroom needs to be updated as there was no fan, the tub looked old, the mirror's edges were worn. There was too much noise filtering from the abutting room, as well as through the vents.

The walls of this property are very thin. You can hear a regular volume conversation happening in the next room. This is incredibly annoying when that conversation is happening at 2 am. The property is dated and somewhat dirty and dingy. The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part.

The location is absolutely fabulous. The breakfast included was great. Bed was comfortable. I had to go to the front desk to get help for internet access. Wi-fi was spotty. It just could have been my phone. Not sure. The service was spectacular.

Nice hotel with big rooms that you don't often find in a large city. Very family-friendly (lots of families there the same week). Breakfast is good. Rooms could use a bit of an upgrade but are not bad overall. Location is fantastic - just a block from Riverwalk and three/four blocks from Navy Pier.

The checkin procedure at your hotel is really messed up. We arrived yesterday right around 4:00 pm and the line for check in was at least 15 people deep with two workers. The process per person took at least 10 minutes per person. I waited in the check in line for over an hour to finally get my room keys. The water was also turned off from 10:00pm-6:00 am. At 1:00 am there was a loud drill noise that lasted for hours..... The worst Hilton expeprience I've ever had.

Loved the location. Right in the heart of things and with a lake view. Service was bad. In evenings no one answered phones except bell stand. Room service closed early one night with no notice. Had to steal a roll of toilet paper from a maid’s cart the first morning we were there. Asked for washcloths - they only had hand towels. Had to ask repeatedly for snack trays that were part of the premium room package. Bell stand staff were excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Embassy suites. They did allow us an early check-in, which we greatly appreciated. We enjoy the free breakfast and cocktails. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Chicago. It’s highly recommended.

We called to let hotel know we will be arriving late but wanted to make sure they have our room type reservation which was a double double in a high flr with lake view. Upon arrival they got our res mixed up and we ended up with a King for three adults on the lowest floor w no view. The room apparent serviced and we found some horrible things left behind like barf on the phone cradle. The room didn’t have usual amenities like slippers and microwave, beverage set up, etc. our calls were unanswered and we finally had to go downstairs to front desk. When staff finally brought slipper, that person knocked on the door and ran off. I had to pick up the slippers off of the floor when I opened the door. Stephanie did try to rectify the situation and gave us a bit of a discount on the room but IMO for this horrible experience it should’ve been 100% comped.

As with most Hiltons that I've stayed at, this hotel was clean and staff was friendly. This location was close to walk to Target, Whole Foods and Walgreen's. Roberts Dough Pizza is around the corner - and delicious. We had a clean room. The area was safe with children - I'd stay again.

Excellent suites. Wonderful full breakfast. Very busy. The happy hour is a superb added bonus. Pool is small and was closed when we tried to use it a second time. The water is warm when working. Front desk was a little distracted upon check in but after that we experienced nothing but great staff. Would stay here again, although I did find out they started implementing a $25 per night resort fee. We booked before that started, but fair warning, it’s there now. $500 hold will be placed on your CC so be prepared.

Stayed here for 2 nights in November. Bell hop staff very helpful and friendly (thank you, Rashad!). Great complimentary breakfast buffet with hot food choices. Makes up for subpar lunch/dinner options. Restaurant staff very quick and efficient. One set of elevators were not working during our stay, fortunately we were Ok to do stairs with our young kids. Would stay again.
