The tv wasn't working, they started working in the issue right away, the hotel has zero amenities but the rooms are pretty decent.

Great location (right next to a strip mall with the best brunch cafe!), lovely reception staff - but hotel is not in very good condition. Parking was difficult, not enough spaces and too tight. Filled with contractor trucks. People smoking in front of their rooms, drifting into our room. Ants in the bathroom. Was very expensive at almost $200 a night for a Motel 6 like experience.

Fantastic location on state street and literally walking steps next to multiple excellent places including Sun Sushi, Spudnuts donuts and Jeannine’s. Checked in at 9pm and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and recently renovated. Best price for what you get compared to other hotels in the area. Free parking. There was a working fridge and microwave provided so it was good for a family stay. Really glad I found this place when other hotels in the area was sold out for the weekend.

The room itself had the essentials—bed, bathroom, AC, and Wi-Fi all worked fine—but the overall property was in poor condition. Common areas felt neglected, the exterior looked run-down, and there was very little attention to detail. Not to mention the plumbing has a personality of its one- loud. Hot water gave up halfway through like it had better things to do. Parking was a whole other adventure, too crowded that genuinely fear for my car’s safety. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep and don’t care about amenities or atmosphere, it’ll do the job. But don’t expect much beyond the bare minimum. I would not stay here again for that price.

For $109/night in Santa Barbara ($124@check-in), this place was great. Clean room, comfortable bed, easy parking. Bummed out there was no coffee pot in the room. But really, I have no complaints.

Check in was OK. Clerk definitely did not want to be there - it showed in his actions. The phone, microwave, desk lamp, and hair dryer were all unplugged for unknown reasons, which was puzzling. Floors are fake-wood covered. Meaning we could hear EVERY FOOTSTEP from above. Also all of the outdoor halls were bare cement with no runners, meaning every FOOTSTEP outside could be heard - all night! On the plus side the room was clean and convenient to walk for food and coffee. Plenty of parking, even with no vacancy.

Room was musty and floor was dirty - feet were black from walking barefoot. Early shower at 7 AM revealed no hot water. Several insects occupied the bathroom including spiders.

The room was dirty, there were ants cover the bed and bathroom, the room didn’t even have a fire alarm.

Best: comfortable queen-sized bed, a/c system and good water pressure! Appreciated work on cosmetic upgrades. Worst: hard-surfaced floors throughout were dirty enough to quickly blacken feet. Had to wash feet just to put shoes on. Towels were stained. A little noisy, but not too bad. Not enough pillows (and no extras available) and no comforter, just two sheets and a thin blanket. Could be very nice. Perhaps it's a work in progress.

The room was gross. The sheets had stains and rips in them. The chair was covered in stains. The sink clogged up every time we used it.

The room i was in looks they cleaned the bathroom, the bed but there spider webs in the corners of the floors and ceilings, the ceiling light fixture diffuser was dusty and had dead bugs inside of it. The paint look like it needed another coat around the floor boards, but hey i guess thats why it was cheap..

You get what you pay for. The least they could do is put some clean sheets on the bed. Our room had a huge stain on the bed sheet and I tried to call the front desk but nobody picked up. There were spiders in the corners of the room. The parking was close to our room and check in was a breeze. Would stay here again if the beds were clean.

The bathroom was not clean and had blood on the toilet and sink. There was also urine on the toilet and floor. There was dirt scum and hair in the tub as well as hair on the floor and sink. There was loud pounding noise all night and the staff did nothing about it. I provided pictures and videos as well as requested to change rooms and the staff was not accommodating. They then tried to lied and gas light us to a third party even after videos and pictures were provided to the third party. This is a horrible hotel that I would never recommend to anyone. Over priced and not taken care of.

Very little redeeming qualities of this motel except location. Don't get a ground level room--paper thin ceilings and walls, absolutely constant pounding noises from neighbors above at all hours. Homeless hanging around. Barely enough parking, very tight. 2 inch gap under room door and 1/2 inch between door and its frame, so cold air and noise enter. Super loud plumbing/gurgling of water sounds coming from other rooms in middle of night, vent in bathroom kicked in middle of night like a freight train to wake me out of my slumber, broken hair dryer plug dangerously exposing its inner parts, grime in bathroom corners, on all baseboards, goop on nightstand and headboards. Clearly their sad excuse for a housekeeping team is doing the most minimal of cleaning effort, even though the room smelled of disinfectant for 2 days we were there. Faint urine smell around my bed (mattress?). Called the office all day to ask a question before arriving and no one ever answered, even though when we arrived and while we stayed there someone was in office the whole time. Clearly they just don't want to answer. Room and bathroom doors DISGUSTING. Makes no sense to renovate and repaint a room but then leave grimy doors and baseboards. Had 2 bad night's sleep all in all, and not worth the $$. Go a little farther to a Goleta hotel if you are trying to save $$ rather than sleep here.

There were very unruly and very noisy guests nearby that made sleeping difficult. Also, the loudest plumbing weve ever heard, so every flush or shower woke us up. Will not stay here again.

The property is dated, room was clean but the shower didn't work. The beds were old and not comfortable.

The price was right. The room was ok. We stayed there 2 nights and on the second night out upstairs neighbors was walking around really loudly at 9pm at night.

The exterior is rough/old/weathered, but the room was very nice. Clearly they spent some effort renovating in the past few years. Floors and bathroom were great, but doors were old (if I recall). Not a big deal at all, but that difference makes the renovations more stark. Overall very nice room.

Staff were friendly but the bathroom wasn’t clean and the shampoo and shower gel dispensers were empty. There were cobwebs in the bathroom. The air conditioning didn’t work until you moved the cord around. The desk lamp and reading lamp didn’t work. One didn’t have a bulb. There was work happening at night and a lot of comings and goings. Didn’t get a good nights sleep.

The property is old, needs a desperate upgrade, huge plumbing noise when other rooms are showering, old furniture & lamps. The whole hotel needs a make over & even though less expensive than other hotels, still was over $200+ a night. The outside & upper hallway distasteful. 2 good points: 1- nice bed, 2- Susan the manager. She was great & understood all the issues. I wish for her they rebuild; she deserves to manage a pretty Inn. I would NOT recommend.

For Santa Barbara prices it is a deal at the cost of a peaceful nights sleep. Walls are thin, and crying baby downstairs kept us in wakefulness all night along with local traffic and partying.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at the Rose Garden Inn. When we arrived, we were told by a grumpy member of staff that our booking wasn’t there, despite having booked well in advance. After finally finding the booking and allocating us our room, we were given one queen bed, even though the photo in my booking was for two queens. I went back down to reception to clarify only to be told that if I wasn’t happy I could be given my money back and can find somewhere else to stay (on a Friday afternoon). The inside of the room is not too bad compared to the outside although the facilities were not great. The aircon was very old and sounded like a jet plane taking off when turned on and the shower wasn’t working so the only option was to have a bath.

The bathroom was not clean and had blood on the toilet and sink. There was also urine on the toilet and floor. There was dirt scum and hair in the tub as well as hair on the floor and sink. There was loud pounding noise all night and the staff did nothing about it. I provided pictures and videos as well as requested to change rooms and the staff was not accommodating. They then tried to lied and gas light us to a third party even after videos and pictures were provided to the third party. This is a horrible hotel that I would never recommend to anyone. Over priced and not taken care of.

Do not be fooled by the photos on Expedia. They are old and do not represent the current condition of this hotel. While the room itself was reasonably clean, everything else was disappointing. The restroom was terrible—the hot water took forever to come on, the bathtub was old, stained, and looked filthy, and there was limescale everywhere. I didn’t even feel comfortable setting anything down on the bathroom counter. The furniture in the room was outdated, and there was no in-room coffee (only a fridge and microwave). The TV was large but offered very limited channels. The outside of the property is in poor shape—fading paint, neglected grounds, and a parking lot that fills up quickly in the evenings. For the price being charged, this place is absolutely not worth it. It feels like a rundown motel being sold as something much nicer online. The only positive was the kind check-out staff, but that does not make up for the condition of the hotel. I would not stay here again.

At check-in the front desk person initially couldn't find my reservation, then I had to pay IN ADVANCE of my two-night stay. I thought when I entered my credit card on Travelocity that my card had been run to reserve/hold the room until check-out. I've never checked into a hotel and had to pay UPON ARRIVAL. It's like sitting down to dinner in a restaurant and paying for your meal before you've even ordered! Otherwise, the staff was helpful (TV had issues, they fixed it, the A/C had issues, etc.), and the housekeeping lady was super cool and helped me with heavy bags. I requested late check-out the night before my departure, but somehow it didn't get shared with housekeeping or the daytime manager - they were not very happy. Overall, the room was well equipped, clean, and comfortable at a great rate.

We stayed there for one night. The room was ok. Nothing special but not bad too. You need a car to go to downtown. Parking is free. It was too noisy but one of the cheapest rooms in the area.

The biggest stand out is the LOCATION! Very walkable with many options for food. The beds were clean and we slept well, but the inn itself is very old. The showers are very LOUD if you can believe it and the bathrooms are begging for an upgrade. The stairs, trash/stench & puddles need a good cleaning. With that being said, it wasn't a terrible stay. It must be hard to have that much to upgrade. I do feel the rates should fairly reflect the state it's in though.

First off there was some sketchy people lingering around. Obviously not the hotels fault as anyone can rent a room but it shows the people it attracts. The worst part was how gross the room was. There was clumps of long hair in the corners of the room, dirty old furniture, picture on the wall was dusty and crocked, etc. The deadbolt was also broken off and the door had a large gap so you could almost see in the room. Pushed the dresser in front of the door as there was no security deadboltt anymore. The lady at the front was very polite checking out and the sheets were clean but otherwise id rather have slept in my car. Any 10/10 reviews are a blatant lie.

At night, the entire property is very well lit. Available parking near or in front of unit. Within walking distance of restaurants and Whole Foods Market. Unit smelled clean from the moment we walked in. Reasonable price point. We will stay again.

Was a little nervous after reading the reviews but very decent place. The most reasonable priced for fiestas weekend. Room was clean and spacious. Parking was great and lots of places to eat walking distance.

There needs to be more security on this property. There were a bunch of men on the second floor, making lots of crude sexual comments towards me that made me feel incredibly unsafe as I was coming in and out of the room. I did not feel safe to leave my room because I could hear them outside. The door did not have any latches which are necessary so the entire night I was afraid of a break-in being on the first floor and being able to hear everybody outside. I did not feel safe. There is no phone in the room to request support so I would have to leave the room in order to ask for help.
