Enchanting Upper Unit with City Charm

Jeff was a great host about communicating the whole time, when I booked the trip and was great with communication on everything. Checking in was easy, the area is a nice neighborhood that is close to grocery stores and coffee places. The home has no carpet, which we enjoyed having 2 dogs, that we were allowed to have with us during our stay and the nice fenced in back yard was convenient for them and waste bags are provided in the back yard. My one recommendation would be with the floors being hardwood and tiled, maybe a swifter or push duster for the floors, along with broom. The place overall was decently clean, maybe a few missed areas in the kitchen, dusting and the stove drawer. The no door by the stairs going down was different, but we don’t have smaller children so was not an issue for us. My kids loved the treehouse, now some have said it didn’t seem safe, it is a use at your own risk, but we got some great sunset photos from it. This property rental is shared, so there is a private apartment downstairs, it’s not mentioned in the listing, but who stayed there was quiet and I was trying my best to keep our kids quiet cause they are not use to a higher altitude and how it makes you not sleep. We never ran out of hot water once, I should have asked for more towels, but just rewashed a lot. If you want a safe area not far from everything and don’t mind an older style home and need a place to sleep with pets, this place is great. The main road will make it loud out back.

I would NOT recommend this VRBO. I chose it as a landing and gathering place for family from across the state and out of state. We looked forward to a comfortable place to cook, visit and hang out. We chose it for the yard, outdoor space and treehouse for children to play on and a secure yard for the dog. Unfortunately, the yard was littered with trash and cigarette butts, the fence was broken and the deck and treehouse were made of exposed wood that was not safe for children to play. The house sits on the edge of I-25 which roars day and night, making it impossible to enjoy sitting and conversing outside. The barbecue was equipped with charcoal and lighter fluid, but the “grate” was a vinyl coated baking cooling rack that was completely unsuitable for grilling. Inside, the home was dirty-the stove and oven had not been touched by cleaners. Cabinets and walls were marred by spills and splatters. The baseboards were dirty as were the corners throughout the house, especially the bathrooms, contained caked dirt. While the showers were good, the overall dirtiness of the bathrooms was very unpleasant. The hair dryer didn’t work, light fixtures and curtain rods were broken. It goes on. This home needs to come off the site and be cleaned and repaired top to bottom. Very disappointing.

We just stayed one night. Very clean and owner was very quick to respond.

Home was clean, close to campus, and an overall great experience. Loved the backyard.
