Baymont by Wyndham Pella

Albeit older, this is actually a nice hotel, and the staff is excellent, but hotel overall lacks certain things that may dissuade a customer. The lack of an elevator to get to the second floor really negatively affects the elderly and those with disabilities. Bathroom had light but no fan and sink was separate from room. Fridge had temp and condensation problems, so one has to work with it. Breakfast okay, but unless one’s creative with mix and matching items, you’ll probably want to go somewhere else after the second day of stay for variety. On the positive side, located in safe area and parking was plentiful and safe. Room very clean and spacious. Wi-Fi had decent enough band-width to watch/listen to streaming services on personal devices. AC good once you get to know the settings. Really big tv. Pool good, hot tub actually great. Only vending was one machine that was limited in items, but there’s a local supermarket within 50 yards, a regional convenience chain about an one-minute drive away and a “hyper-market” within three minutes. So if you forgot something, or need to restock on things while passing by, you’re gonna be in good shape. Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel and the people that work there. It’s an older property, but the folx currently running it are trying their best to make it work in today’s lodging landscape. I wish Wyndham would allocate some funds to build an elevator for the property.

pros: clean room, staff was friendly. Nice hot tub. Cons: no elevator. I am disabled and I can hardly handle too many steps. My wife and I tried to cancel the reservation. We called the hotel customer service and we got the run around. The phone in the room was useless: no telephone cord! The mattress was too hard and we didn't get a good night's sleep.Breakfast was ok.

Parking lot is secure (small town) and plentiful. Hotel is clean and quiet; no bright lights shining in windows. The whole place smells wonderful, but not overpowering! Friendly staff.

Amenities were good. Pool and hot tub were great. Need more vending options but overall our stay was great!

2nd time staying here. Manager on duty was polite, room was clean other than a few crickets hiding in the bathroom. Quiet little town. Side door of the building stuck open a little, so it didn't fully lock unless you pulled it shut. Nice to be able to relax in the hot tub at night. Breakfast was not good, crumbly eggs, sausages sitting in liquid, warm (not hot) sausage gravy, they were out of most juices (manager filled them right away when notified), there was no spray for the waffle grddle, so everything stuck to it. Overall, a nice place to stay for the price, just need to improve the breakfast quality, the offerings were fine.

It was ok. Good space in the room. Musty but the windows open & it was fine after airing it out. Nice hot tub & pool. Tiny fitness center. Breakfast had a lot of options but the “warm” food was not too warm.

Pool cold. Couldnt take a bath due to no plug. Front desk helpful and pleasant. Need elevator for those of us who are disabled.

The check in was simple and quick. The manager at the desk was very polite and friendly. The property is very well taken care of as is the room. The pool and hot tub are very clean and comfortable. I am delightfully surprised at the level of quality for the price.

This hotel was very dated. We had a very nice women help us check in however, the process took 20 minutes. We had 2 adjoining rooms, both had issues. The one we stayed in had not been dusted in months and the tv did not work, along with that there were old foam stickers that obviously held a mirror at one time, that had hair stuck in them. The coffee maker had old water in it with what looked like mold floating in the top and there was no body wash in the wall dispensers. When we went to go to bed we noticed that there was dark curly black hair under the blanket and everyone in my family is blonde. It was late so we decided to go to bed in the extra bed as opposed to complaining. We did not use the pool because there seemed to Be a private party going. Just all in all an irritating experience. I wouldn’t say it ruined our trip…but I would say I will never stay there again.

The room was everything advertised. Hot tub was large enough for 2! The hotel staff was brilliant, and really matched my energy coming in. Room was Very Clean, and we were even asked if we had any requests for Breakfast the next morning! Tremendous Stay.

Beds squeaked very loudly with all movement. Shower containers hadnt been cleaned. There is a clothing iron burn on the counter top near sink. We would NOT recommend this hotel .

We had a big stain on the comforter. Bed and pillows were not comfortable.

The bathtub was dirty, the walls next to the bed were really dirty (I really don’t want to know what was running down the walls), the bed was so uncomfortable, the pillows were flat, the staff seemed annoyed we were there, the room was set on 80 and it was so hot. We did get it cooled down but it took so long we were miserable while waiting. I think this is a truck stop hotel. Do not recommend.

The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was just okay, in fact we only ate once because it wasn't great. The room was clean, but had several little things that needed to be repaired. Note that altho the website states a coffeemaker in every room, that is not the case. The staff told us "people kept breaking them so we removed them". They did provide one when I asked. We were unable to call the front desk re the coffee maker because the phone had no dial tone. We reported the phone problem but it was never replaced.

Room didnt feel very clean. Tiles in the bathroom floor were cracked and loose. No elevator. The pool area however was clean, and the breakfast was good.

The rooms are extremely small. The sink is inside of the room and not in the bathroom make it unconvincing when one guest sleeping and another need to wash hands after bathroom use. Breakfast is limited. But the room is clean and quiet. For one night stay overnight is okay

The wall in our room had quite a bit of scratching from people moving a table back and forth. I felt the staff at the motel were friendly and helpful. Things looked clean. Would stay there again.

The pillows were like pancakes, noisy person above me. Breakfast was awful. Coffee was weak

Clean, quiet room with a nice shower. Better than other hotels we have stayed at. The only negatives we found were no elevator, and the breakfast wasn't great. But for the price and location to downtown Pella, it served us well.

Beds and pillows were so uncomfortable.

Good place to stop on our way out west. Good service. Functional amenities. Beds are doubles and not queens so if you have the fam it may be a little cramped but for us it was just for one night.

Our room (108) was must, and damp and the carpet was as well. Glad we opened the window the last night we were there to bring in fresh air. Front desk people greeted us but were dressed and talked unprofessional

Check in staff was friendly, but I had to hunt down the front desk person this morning and she was more concerned about answering my question than "listening" to my question. So I didnt actually get my question answered. I asked for a late checkout, which she granted but didnt update my key. I had to then hunt someone down again to let me in my room to get my things. The pool was nice and the hot tub was in working order. The beds are small and took up a lot of the room. All in all, due to convenience, I would stay here again. But will make sure I have what I need taken care of upon checkin.

The staff was great!! H.p. and andrew were very helpful. Stayed on easter night and didnt know if anything was open to get something to eat, h.p. went above and beyond to call around to find us an open restaurant!! We didnt hear a peep all night(which is rare for a motel). The breakfast was typical free breakfast food and was good. Overall for the money it is well worthwhile staying there...i highly recommend

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is older, but clean. Breakfast was simple and satisfying.

Check in could have been more professional. 1 room was paid for with credit card. BUT second room was cash (visa cash card) Problem was maximum on card covered room but not anticipated incidentals. My friend was forced to pay cash. Check in person could have split days to allow cards to be used. Frustrating. ALSO no elevator to second floor. Not easy carrying luggage up and down steps. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay by 1 day, leaving Sunday instead of Monday. My friends mother had to go in hospital so we needed to get back sooner. We were hoping for a refund or credit for that last day but were told since the reservation was made thru Expedia there was no way to do that. Disappointing.

The manager was very helpful during my check in.

Very good location off freeway and only one mile to town with a very large well lit parking lot. Very comfortable, ample size clean room with two dbl beds for two people. Pool and self serve bkfst included three delicious juices, very good waffles with cinnamon available, hot coffees, breads, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc. Friendly staff and good price for the room with a small discount for the second night. Only one miss...we were given two adjoining rooms instead of our requested two connecting rooms. I recommend this hotel. Thkyou

Reception staff were very pleasant and thorough despite being busy. Check in and out was quick. Room was good and shower was very pleasing. Close enough to downtown Pella but far enough away for a little more privacy. Downtown Pella is fun to explore with quaint shops

Clean on the inside. Outside could use.some sprucing up. Its at the edge of town so its not really close to anything so not overly convenient. Enjoyed hot tub.

Easy access to shopping and downtown

Had wifi problems took me and the counter worker a half hour to get connected. The TV would not leave the home/welcome page so did not get to see any TV during my stay. Bed was comfortable, the food for breakfast was good

It wasn’t better than I expected, and it wasn’t worse. The breakfast that was included was mediocre at best

The breakfast was really bad. Powdered eggs and yucky sausage patties. Out of some juice and the pastries were unappetizing. The gentleman who checked us in on Saturday was wonderful though. Very pleased with him!

Breakfast was not acceptable. Powdered eggs, stale biscuits, microwave potatoes and bad gravy.

They were very good about keeping it clean and fresh smelling. I liked the idea of the body was, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in big bottles and attached to the walls. The only thing that really needs improvement is breakfast. The entire stay there was no tea bags ( advertised as coffee and tea available 24/7). I asked the first night, we were there 4 and was told they were out, it was never restocked, had to buy my own. Also, fruit was sparse ( 3 bananas the entire stay)and so were the pastries which were mini donuts only saw them once. Overall it was a nice stay.

Good budget hotel. Breakfast was not good. Powdered eggs and observed hostess placing the left overs in container and into fridge. Are they really reheating no powdered eggs? 4 dead Christmas planters out front (it’s April and the spring flowers are blooming). Manager states the contractor they use didn’t want to update to spring yet! I would have at least thrown these dead planters out.

The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was aweful. The scrambled eggs were mixed so mich they were crumbles with old, dried up pieces mixed with fresh eggs. Wife refused to eat them. Sausages were in water. One of the worst hotel breakfasts ever. Otherwise a decent place.
