Pelican Pointe Clearwater Beach Hotel

We loved staying here and would definitely recommend it. Our room had tons of space and extra amenities that we weren't expecting. Everything was clean and all the workers were exceptionally nice. Our only complaint being, with the hotel designed like a V, the smoking section was right in the middle of everything so no matter where you went you could smell the cigarette smoke. Especially taking the kids in the pool, the smoking section was right next to it and the elevators. Possible suggestion of moving the smoking section to one side of the building instead of right in the middle. Otherwise we really loved our stay. Close waking to everything, we never had to drive anywhere. Thanks for the great stay.

We were surprised when we saw the spacious and comfortable studio! Everything was in good condition, well-maintained, and very clean. From free beach towels to cutlery, plates, and glasses, to a coffee machine, everything was provided. There was even a box of sand toys for the children to use. Beach chairs and parasols were also free to take along. The beach is only a 2-minute walk away. The pool is beautifully maintained, pleasantly heated, and is a popular use for guests. There is plenty of parking at no extra charge. All in all, a wonderful hotel; we would love to come back!

Property is in the center of everything and convenient. Elevator was hit and miss on proper operation, so if you require that, look elsewhere. Full property went non smoking while we were there, with no pre notice at booking, we are smokers, didn't mind walking out to street, but if that matters to you, heads up

An older facility that is very well maintained and centrally located. Parking on site and friendly staff. Nice pool for a dip on a hot day - walk to the beautiful beach is only five minutes away. Free ping pong!

What a great location! Walk to everything and there is a Jolly Trolley stop right there. Hotel has beach chairs, umbrella, and water toys free to use. Friendly staff, clean room, and clean pool, too, if you do not want to go to the beach.

The hotel was ok, about what we expected for the price. Staff was friendly enough. Upon checking in, on a Thursday, we were told the elevator would be out “ until tomorrow “.Our room was on the 4 th floor, that was rough for someone with a heart condition. We inquired about the progress of the repair and were told that they were waiting for a part. We checked out the following Monday, still no repairs done. Very disappointing! Inconvenience compensation would have been nice. Even just a gift card to a restaurant would have been a nice gesture. But nothing!!

Great location. Rooms clean, pool is heated and clean. Staff very friendly. Walkable to everything. Definitely will stay again.

PROS: Great location, awesome friendly staff and clean rooms well stocked. Pool had floats available and there were also beach towels in the room. CONS: Elevator broke on our way out so we had to carry our luggage down several flights of stairs. No beach chairs to borrow for the beach.

This is a safe place with good wifi to be able to work remote and still spend some beach time. It's a go to and I've used this place several times.

Room 227 had cockroaches. We squished five in our room during our stay. Hopefully, they are not returning home with us or the hotel will be receiving the extermination bill.

We will definitely be staying here again! Zero complaints! Rooms are beautiful, pool was clean and refreshing, housekeeping was great, staff was friendly! We truly loved our stay here and will be back!

Within 10 minutes of arriving I went down to get a different room, but there wasn’t anything available until the next day. There were roaches in the kitchenette and bathroom. It was disgusting.

A great budget hotel with amazing and helpful staff! Staff always kept us informed and even let us check in early! This hotel is located very close to the beach; only a few minutes by walking! Located right near very many restaurants, bars, and shops, which were also walking distance. Room + entire hotel lot was very clean, well put together, very comfortable overall. Saw staff + workers cleaning often. Could not hear much outside noise at all, which was also very nice! Only downside I could point out is the AC system needs some kind of upgrade, as we were often sweating throughout the night despite the unit being set at 65°F. The room also only has the one AC unit in the corner, by the bed. Otherwise, this hotel was a great stay! Will definitely consider booking here again next time!

The beach view was adequate and the walk was short to get there. The AC was very cold, but leaked water on the last day in the room causing puddles.

If you like cockroaches, this is the place to stay the people would only refund the money of the two days that we were not able to stay there they offered no recourse on the two days that we stayed there and dealt with their bug infestation do yourself a favor and stay real far away from this property

This is a quaint retro hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here and the staff is wonderful. Only problem was our air conditioner made our room smell musty and I had to wash everything when iI got home. But other than that everything is nice and kept up here.

Checked in to a room with a bathtub full of hair and floor full of dirt. Definitely was not cleaned whatsoever.

We thought Pelican Pointe was an absolute steal for the price, location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted and it’s directly across the street from the beach. It’s next door to Sally’s so we were there often. Grab a $15 rum bucket and hold onto it bc refills are only $10 as long as you bring it back. Check out the daily specials at Frenchy’s($6 cheesesteak Wednesday can’t be beat), and the Calypso Dinner Cruise was a lot of bang for your buck (arrive 30 min early bc they start food and drinks then). We also had a lot of fun at Coco’s and Shepherds Tiki and sunsets at vJimmy’s Fish House. Had a fantastic time and would definitely stay again!!

Large rooms, good location close to beach with free parking.

Good location just across the street from the beach. The room was as described. The a/c has to be left on in order to keep the room cool. A bit outdated but excellent for the price! Nice pool area. Con: I was on the 2nd floor and the hotels lights outside lite my room up at night!!

Stayed at pelican pointe for a week end of May as family of four from UK. We had family room with 2 double beds and double sofa bed and enough bedding for all to be used. Room facilities were great, enough shampoo, conditioner and shower gel to use which is topped up by the cleaners, make up wipes provided, hair dryer, iron board and iron, fresh towels and sheets whenever needed even pool towels. Room cooming facilities were a microwave and toaster and coffee maker plus a fridge and small freezer. Hotel is only a short walk from the beach and all the shops and transport stops walkable too. Tea and coffee in reception to help yourself to between 8am and 11pm. Staff friendly and helpful. For a budget hotel compared to some of the bigger and much more expensive ones pelican pointe was great and would recommend. We used the local trolley bus to get around when it was too hot to walk and ubers to and from airport, all quite reasonable. Found the food prices in the local shops and restaurants quite high but think this is just because you're in the central tourist area of clearwater, We saw dolphins swim by when we were in the sea on our first day which was incredible.

We were not able to access local channels on the TV. We asked front desk staff for help. They came and tried to help us but could not access them either. They said condos are individually owned and this owner must not have all the connections the TV needed. It would be nice for the next guest if this could get remedied. We were in room 222. Beside that issue, we enjoyed the property.

AC in the bedroom for such hot months wasn’t the best.

This was a great hotel. Room was very roomy and spacious. Staff was great. Very affordable. Would definitely stay again.

No frills but friendly staff, clean room and super convenient location-close to the beach and eateries. I came with a friend and her daughter. We got a room that said it sleeps 4, which included a queen bed and a futon. The futon was extremely uncomfortable so maybe avoid that room configuration if you can. I would be recommend this place though.

This is at least our 4th stay at this property. We really like the location. It's close to everything. This time we were in room 216. I do feel like this room needs some updating like a new chair, new sofa/futon and a new mattress for the main bed. All of these are very old, uncomfortable and worn. Also the air conditioning was spotty. Sometimes it worked ok and sometimes it didn't keep up. I'm sure we'll be back to stay again but next time I would make sure the room we get is updated. We walked by rooms that were right next to us when the maid was cleaning and you could tell they were updated and much, much nicer.

The staff was friendly. The room we stayed in was nice and roomy. It was clean and in good condition. We even had a full fridge. A big issue was the extremely hard mattress. It was very uncomfortable!! We also had issues pulling up channels on the TV. Staff came to try to help, but they did not have the proper remote. The best part of our stay was the location, right across from the beach. Oh, and the elevators were still not working from the hurricanes, and we were on the 4th floor which made it very inconvenient.

Never stayed checked in and left after inspecting the room. The property is a motel posing as a resort. I went back to the lobby to check out 30 minutes after arriving. I told the front desk person the place is not safe and dirty they misrepresented this place. She told me I needed to speak to Nicole the manager who wasn’t there at the time. I’ve been calling since yesterday to speak with her and either the phone just rings or it’s going to voicemail. I need a full refund. Having unusually activity and clothes hanging off the balcony gives an extended stay motel and a resort. I was too scared to even lay my head there one night.

We had an awesome stay! Staff were so helpful and friendly. Beach access was across the street. Lots and lots of restaurants easily walkable. And for $5/day you could ride the shuttle from the stop just in front of the hotel. No need for a car. Not fancy or big, but clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!

It all started with…The lady (Vera) at reception was unprofessional- I called to advise we were coming in late around 9pm and they said that it wouldn’t be an issue. Once we arrived they changed the number of our room to a smaller and dirty room. Used fork in sink - the toilet was used and the hygiene ribbon was ripped off over the toilet seat, red bull on bathroom counter and a bed which someone had lied down on before we arrived. I asked for our room back the initial one marked down on the contract and the receptionist said that there was no a room assigned. When I lifted the contract, I showed her the whiteout over the number and a new room number written over it. She became hostile as she spoke to me saying there was a technical issue in the room- I asked what the issue was and after starring me down she said that the TV didn’t work in the other room and didn’t want a complaint from us. I left the reception aRea and my husband tried to calm her down in order to have our family rest in a clean room. Needless to say the hotel is holding on metal stilts, lobby is closed, coffee maker was non functioning. Elevator started working on the day we arrived and yet It had a couple of issues during our stay. Arriving at home we have been unable to get a musty odour out of our clothes and luggage. I will not send anyone there. The ratings were not accurate at all…terrible time terrible place. We felt lied to - as if the room had been promised to someone else.

Everything was great! i was able to check in a bit early, my room was not ready but the staff let us use the pool and called us as soon as our room was ready.. check was not until after 2 and i got there at 12pm... staff was very friendly and accommodating... the place is as described, very comfortable beds, rooms are well decorated. place is very clean and well kept. During my time at the hotel the rooms were clean and 90 % of the staff was excellent with the exception of the staff on Sunday, June 29th. Three women were on staff and they made very rude comments to my friends who were visiting. The front desk clerk made it a point to come to our room and accuse us of being loud and threatened my girlfriend by putting her finger in her face threatening to press charges for smoking on the property, my girlfriend does not smoke. As the evening approached we went to the pool and 1 of the women was patrolling the balcony, staring at us and making the evening extremely uncomfortable. It honestly felt as though we were in jail and they were making the rounds. Quite honestly if it weren't for those employees the hotel would have been great, it is unfortunate that these women made is so uncomfortable that we do not plan on returning. With the exception of those 3 employees that day/evening the staff was great. I truly hope management sees this review and make better decisions on who works there.

We have come to cwb 4 times and each time we have stayed at pelican. We love it ! Very friendly staff and clean rooms! The pool and the atmosphere is great!

Room was clean, nice location directly across from public beach access and shopping, pool was also very nice. Staff friendly and welcoming. Really all we could’ve asked for a few days at the beach after our Disney trip.

I would love to give Pelican Pointe a 5 star review. My one and only complaint was the construction noise from the hotel being built next door, and I know that is not their fault. We stayed for 2 nights after visiting family in Florida. We were able to walk to bars, restaurants, shopping. Pier 60 is only half a mile away. There is also a Jolly Trolley that stops right outside the motel. The beach is a five minute walk. Everything is easily accessible. Amazing value for the money. We will definitely be back!

I researched over a dozen properties before I chose this one. It was well worth my time because this place is exceptional. Parking was 10 steps from the front door and once we parked our car, we hardly used it again for the five days we were there. There is so much within walking distance. The beach is right across the street. Five steps from our hotel is Salty’s restaurant. We either had breakfast lunch or dinner there every day. The pool is very nice and very well maintained. There are adequate lounge chairs, and tables with umbrellas and beach towels are provided. Our room was on the third floor. It overlooked the pool and once we were inside the room, we did not hear any outside noise from children playing or anything. The staff was incredibly nice. There are vending machines in the lobby area if you need something on the go. I like the way the room is set up with a divider which separates a living area from a sleeping area. One person could actually be sleeping while the other is doing computer work or reading or little children are sleeping. Our room was very clean and the maintenance people were all very friendly. We left a nice tip for our cleaning lady. This place is perfect for families or a couple just needing to get away for a bit. the fact that parking is included is a big deal because in many other locations, you pay extra for that. I really can’t find one negative thing to say about this hotel. I would definitely stay there again. Amazing sunsets too!

I like the location of this property because you’re right next to Salty’s for food, across the street and around the corner just a short walk from the beach and everything is very convenient from here. There is currently major construction going on next door, which is worth mentioning if anyone is a light sleeper because we did not know this and my mother woke up at the crack of dawn due to their slam banging. That also made it so you had to cross streets in different spots than usual to go around it, but it’s not a big deal if you can handle the noise. The room is cute and they have studio / kitchenette options which are great. There really isn’t much of a “view” per say from any of these rooms but it’s a good pick to save some money if the room isn’t your number one priority but location is!

Excellent location! Our family didn’t need to use our car to get to great restaurants, the beach, or mini golf. Walked across the street and we were on beach walk and less than 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel room was more run down than we expected given all the great reviews (cracks in the walls, stained bath vanity, peeling bathtub, and dirty walls). Nice, clean pool though. Staff was nice. They could invest in a better coffee setup. It was a good value for what we got, but I don’t think I would stay there again.

Pleasantly surprised with my room. It had a coffee maker, dishes and cups, microwave, and small refrigerator with freezer. Perfectly clean and larger than I expected. Location is great - walk around the resort across the street and you’re on the public south Clearwater beach! Short walk to pier 60 and many dining and shopping options. Late check in due to flight delays was super easy by use of lockboxes by the front door. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property and will stay here again if I ever come back to beautiful Clearwater beach!

It was couple of blocks from Clearwater Beach. A restaurant next door that served all 3 meals. A coffee shop a block away. Short walk to shopping. All in all a very good place to stay.

Great Place! Nearby the beach and so many restaurants. The hotel also offers a discount for the restaurant next door and other places too. It is clean and spacious, my only complain is the beds aren't the best, but overall its a great hotel. If you're looking to be near the beach, that offers free parking, and a decent sized room then this is a great option.

Eating areas very limited. No breakfast in area, the small McDonalds we used before was closed. No other intertainment for children like movies or arcade. Like the Daytona area betterfor this reason.
