Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Louisville East

We booked a two-night stay but ended up leaving after the first night due to multiple issues with the room and overall experience. Although the room had a thermostat/control panel, the temperature could not be lowered below 71–72 degrees, even when set to 64. As someone dealing with hot flashes, this made sleeping extremely uncomfortable and nearly impossible. After speaking with the front desk, we were told the room temperature is automatically controlled and cannot be adjusted by staff or guests, despite there being a thermostat in the room. They even sent a repairman to check it, but nothing improved, and to make matters worse, he left dirty gloves behind in our room. Breakfast was also disappointing, with a poor selection, overcooked hot food, and mostly carb-heavy options. We attempted to speak with a manager or supervisor but were unable to do so. To their credit, they agreed to refund us, and we decided not to stay for the second night of our reservation. Between the inability to control the room temperature, poor sleep, lack of management availability, and disappointing breakfast, this stay was not a good experience for us. Would not recommend if your a hot sleeper and don't travel with a fan.

I really wish the workout room had some weights and a bench and the hot tub worked.

For other parents. The website says full breakfast. They had a couple of hot items on their big buffet bar :( Families that travel and have kids really depend on a good breakfast. This was 75% why we picked this Hotel. They really need another waffle maker if they can't put more hot food out. The pool is ok but the age is 18 years and older, not very helpful for teens and parents. The staff was great. Nice and helpful. The building is older but kept clean. Checking in and out was easy. Rooms were very clean and great for a family with kids.

The AC did not work the entire weekend.....it ended up being frozen. Kids wanted to dive in the pool, making what time we had there not enjoyable. The breakfast on Thursday morning was not well thought out...it was as if they had no idea why so many archers were staying at the hotel, and they quickly ran out of food and drink multiple times. The windows, when we attempted to use them, were coming out of their runners and when we brought the attention to the front about the AC, the front desk worker broke the tabs that keep it in the track. The hot water was not working well, at all. I expect hot water where I need to add cold water to temper it...instead, we got water that was warm enough to be tolerable for short showers. The staff was great, for the most part, and the beds were comfortable.
