Holiday Inn Manhattan 6th Ave - Chelsea by IHG

Great spot to be in the city. Only downside is that there were only two elevators. Staff was quick and responsive.

The room was small but comparable to others in large cities. It only has 2 elevators and cleaning staff also use it so there are delays waiting for elevators. No onsite parking - but a secure garage is nearby. Breakfast not included but a buffet breakfast was available. These are also common with large city hotels but we often frequent hotels in smaller cities that include parking and breakfast - we just need to change expectations. We had a high level room and a wonderful view of Empire State Building. We loved the location - close enough to subway, lots of food options, we walked to Times Square. The area felt safe enough but we were a larger group and not usually out too late.

Everything was good for what you are, a 3 star hotel. Checking in, the staff was amazing and she was the best person of the staff, which were all great. Here are my issues that i dont understand why an IHG hotel would be lacking in. We checked in on Wednesday morning we checked out tuedsay 12pm. -tea bags not replenished once. Black tea ran out and never was replaced after Thursday morning. When i asked the front desk on thursday morning, staff at the front desk proceeded to remove the complimentary tea because it wasnt suppose to be out yet, i guess. I didnt get an answer nor was it ever replenished my entire visit. -water in lobby was iced only about 65% of the time(its was above 90° most of the time there) -ice on 15th and 4th floors, i understand NY buildings are old and ammeneties are sparce, these areas should be better. More attention to them, especially since most rooms dont have refrigerators, guest use these areas alot. Towels on floor is a bandage not a solution.

Elevators are so slow

The elevator was definitely old. One time it stopped on every floor. You can hear it creak going up and down in your room. No sound proof rooms. Other guests weren’t happy. Definitely go somewhere else.

The location is great however the two elevators available to guests are not adequate enough.

This property is a joke. They didn’t have anything they stated they had. No breakfast option, just apple and banana and some bagels right in the front when you walk inside. They were unable to accommodate an early check in because they are renovating the entire property. All the amenities (dining area, computer room, etc) all unavailable due to the renovations. I’m not sure what I ended up paying for because I received a room I didn’t ask for and no way to eat lunch or dinner. Yes there are restaurants around, but I planned to eat at the hotel. Also the hotel advertises on their website that they are fully renovated when it is in fact still half way being done. This is a sad excuse for a hotel. I will definitely not be returning.

Construction in the main lobby, very loud and inconvenient at times. only 2 elevators for 25 floors, often getting stuck or taking forever. no stair access through the lobby. other than that, extremely clean and friendly staff. great location for the chelsea area and for the price.

The stay would have been rated higher, but the hotel was under renovation which was never indicated in the booking or mentioned when I sent two emails and called the hotel with questions about our stay before we got there. The renovations were primarily in the lobby area but that closed the restaurant and bar and took away one elevator. We waited 10 minutes to get to our room because housekeeping was using the one elevator to move their carts. We had to leave the hotel to get food and drinks. The price was great and the hotel will look great when finished renovating but we were disappointed in the lack of amenities that were part of the reason for booking here.

This hotel is a little on the older side. But it was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. Also good to know there is parking discounted available at a nearby garage. It is not valet parking, but it is very accessible. Also, the rooms do not have microwaves or refrigerators or safes. But for the location and the cost this is a good option in this area of Manhattan.

It was clean and they made sure we had soaps and towels on a daily as well as houskeeping. Would have loved to have a microwave/fridge or both we had to go down a few floors to access the microwave, ice and sodas. But overall it met our needs for our first time to NYC

The room at first night was dirty it seemed like blood and other stain. The front desk staff were rude all the time. The hotel was being remodeled.

Building was in construction and everything was a mess, the bathroom on the room was dirty and we had to call someone to fix it before staying there

Nice size room with a King bed for one person. Newly renovated bathroom with hot water and good pressure. Was not too noisy even though room was next to elevator. The staff were very friendly and efficient when I checked in/out and requested for late checkout. The lobby area could use some update and cleaning. There is a damp, musty smell much like a basement when you are in the lobby. Otherwise, my stay was very pleasant.

I liked their location. But sorry I have to give them 1 star. The insects in the bed had bitten our whole family. After returning home, we contacted the hotel manager (named Ngo?) but they remained silent and did not respond to our emails. they acted irresponsibly. I am not satisfied with their customer service, it’s a hotel in one of the most famous city in America

This hotel was decent for the middle of NY. The room is TIGHT if you are traveling with the family. We weren't in our room much and it's a good thing. The elevators are slow, there is not a fridge or microwave in room. The ice machines are only on certain floors. This room was sufficient for the couple of days we were there.

Good stay. Quarters were tight. Temperature of the room was hard to control. Way too warm at normal setting.

Rooms are pretty small. The TV decided not to work the final night and there was nothing they can do.

We had an awesome view from our room at the back. We could see the Empire State Building nicely lit at night.

TV was out WIFI was out. No communication, No compensation

Definitely quiet considering that it’s New York city! However, the heater/ac was really loud

The service was great..front desk was super nice and helpful all shifts. also you chat via email and the response is quick.only two downer.The room was very small m..smaller than I expected. The housekeeping rushed no vacuum and bathroom not clean all the way…. Overall it was a great stay

Place was clean, but if you don't want to have your stay continuously interrupted by front desk managers who overbook, don't communicate, blame the guest, and bully and threaten them, then this isn't the place for you. Every step of the way we faced poor communication, disrespectful expectations of a guest, and the loss of time we were meant to vacation and spend with our friends who were getting married. I wish I had the space here to state every interaction we had with Steven and Tham, the front desk managers, I wish even more that they didn't lie to our faces about not having a general manager, who refused to communicate with us, and then lie to our faces about threats they made. Despite contacting IHG Guest Relations and following their directions, Steven and Tham threarened to call the police on us. There is no way to feasibly condense the events into 1500 characters or less. But ultimately we missed time with friends during a joyous occasion all to get bullied, harassed, and threatened despite following IHG direction. Time and time again at this hotel, we were miscommunicated to, disrespected, asked for unreasonable requests during a holiday, gaslit about their communications, and then blatantly lied to. General management not once reached out to us when the request came through various mediums, including their own corporate guest relations staff. Never, have I ever been threatened, bullied, made to feel less than, and disrespected as a guest of a hotel.

Rude receptionists, we asked them to help us with our check-out time but they were extremely rude and literally kicked us out of the hotel. I will never stay there again.

Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location worked well for us.

The location is perfect for someone that wants to explore the city. Staff are amazing and so welcoming. From the moment I check in to check out it was top notch service. Rooms were a little small.

When we arrived, there were 6 parties in front of us with only one cashier. Two other employees sitting behind the desk. Handed out water bottles for the long wait. They didn’t have our booked room available so we were given a smaller room that was available. Clean hotel, but not organized in the reservation department.

The staff at the front desk both on arrival and departure were rude , not helpful and dismissive. No eye contact was made. One staff member even. Had her feet up on the desk. I asked staff if I could leave my bag for storage at check out so I could get breakfast and I was told it was too full. I told them it would be an hour or two that it would be left and the young man asked if I could read the sign that it was full. Hospitality is not important to this hotel at all. Won’t be returning on my next visit to see my family. As well I will not be staying at any holiday inns in the future

Clean bedroom with friendly and attentive staff. Close to attractions and subway stations. Woman travelling solo I felt saved at this location day and night.

It was very close to the Madison square garden, so it was easy to walk to and from, as well as around the area.

Great hotel that is walking distance to many tourist destinations like Empire State Building, the High Line, Hudson Yards, Madison Square Garden, and Times Square. They cleaned our room daily which was a big plus for a family of four with kids.

lobby was messy and after arriving we found out that you have to pay for breakfast which is normally included with the stay. Parking was my issue. It is offsite parking and is not owned by the Holiday Inn. The parking staff was rude, and even spoke in spanish saying thing like we park Rolls Royces and my car is nothing. Also in spanish stating I dont tip which is false. Tips are a reward of good service. Smile, be curtious, and accomidation not rude

Even if the room was ok , when we walked inn the WC was dirty , with best of urine and not flushed !!! We complained at the reception and they apologized and offer us a free breakfast. We really appreciate and had a simple but delicious breakfast .. we even thought we could have breakfast at the hotel next day. They confirmed us that it will be 10USD each but the next day they informed us that the first persone was 10 and the 2d was 20!!! we didn't understand why.

Staff was nice and helpful, a special call out to Destiny, she was friendly and helped us with bar and grill’s. A restaurant and bar were advertised however none. Room and Bath was very small. No mirror or drawers. It was Disappointing, especially for a Holiday Inn

The offer says breakfast included, but when you going to eat the employee say that its a cupon with a $15 dolar value. So every morning i have to pay 15$ plus the cupon. Its not true. You have to pay extra per breakfast

Well kept hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Nice little restaurant with good breakfasts.

Property was OK for the cost and location. We were told we would receive breakfast vouchers which were never provided. The staff had no idea what we were talking about when we inquired, and we ultimately received nothing. Bait and Switch as this was promised as part of our booking and confirmed by the hotel after I booked. Very likely would not stay here again unless the price was advantageous.
