This property is very much in need of an update! We didn't dare walk across the room floor without shoes as carpet is far in need of replacing (sticky and worn), bed springs are audibly well worn (no way to get out of the bed without waking others in the room). Upon arrival one of our rooms needed the sheets changed due to being dirty, and if you stay on the first floor, you may have a non-smoking room but the hallway reeks of cigarette smoke. Thankfully we were given a first floor room as there is no elevator for the second floor. We travelled for a graduation so we couldn't be choosy, no rooms were left in Lynchburg when we made plans, lesson learned!

As an older adult, this property was not my first choice. It does not have an elevator, and I was given a room on the second floor. I received no help with my luggage, and the linen was changed only by request. I would not use this property again.

I got there late and the room was by the desk. That was great until the early morning when the other guests used the ice machine and the noise came through the door. The maids were very loud outside my door as well. The sound of the dryer also went through the walls. Not an enjoyable stay at all.

Overall this was a pretty good hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was pretty good - mostly continental with waffle maker. Biggest issue I had was related to the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway outside of my room which filtered its way into my room. My room was on the 1st floor to the left of the desk. My room was a non smoking room fairly close to the main office. I think there were some "smoking" rooms further down the hall so maybe the heavy smoke odor was coming from there or maybe from the main office? I would recommend that, if you are going to have some rooms designated as "smoking", that you make that whole wing "smoking" and make the other wings completely "non-smoking".

The bed was very comfortable and clean. However what I did not like is that this is the second year in a row that we have stayed here during 4th of July. It is a fact that people in the community will come and park at the hotel to see the fireworks that the firehouse presents. After checking in on July 3rd we headed over to my aunt's house that is located about 14 miles away. We were advised by the front desk that they could not guarantee we would have our parking space available due to the people that come and used the parking lot to see the fireworks. I think this is not how you do good business. If I pay to stay at your hotel, I expect to also have a parking space available. It would be one thing if there is just not enough for the hotel guests, this is not the case here at this location. We travel to Smith Mountain Lake often as we have family there and I think this is our last time staying at the Super 8, in Bedford, VA

Convenient location to Bedford tourist sights. The rooms are a bit dated but well-kept. There are only two floors, but there is no elevator, which could be challenging for those with mobility issues.

The entire first floor is a smoking floor and from the minute you walk in the smoke is overwhelming. The second floor is supposed to be non smoking but we had ashes in the window and all over the curtain. The window label said does not open but the screws had been removed and the window was unlocked. Many ashes on the outside window seal as well. There were dead stink bugs on the heating unit and in the corner of the carpet. The bathroom was not very clean either. The tub had a huge patch in the bottom where it had been repaired at some point. We will not be returning to this hotel and I do not recommend it.

The hotel was relatively quiet. Exception is the 1st floor ice maker which is quite loud. Fortunately we did not have a room near it but a friend had the room across from it and said it wasn't good. Be sure to request a room as far away from it as possible. Breakfast coffee and waffles were good. Upon returning in the afternoon the coffee pot was cold, but once a cup is warmed in the microwave it was still good. The staff is very pleasant. Checkin was easy as was checkout. The surrounding area is quite nice, parking is right in front of the hotel and very convenient. I an in Virginia in June each year and have stayed here before. I plan to continue to staying here.

The property was clean and every morning I saw a busy staff, mopping and vacuuming the common areas. Our room and bathroom were clean. The mattresses were good. Although our room was labeled as non-smoking, the entire hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. Very, very strong odor. Our actual room did not smell great, but it was tolerable.

The website stated that this was a smoke free establishment but the entire hotel including the room smelled like cigarette smoke! The carpet in our room was stained. The light fixture on my husband’s side of the bed did not work. Bathroom was dirty. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. After reading the reviews and seeing apologies made by the manager you would think improvements would have been done. We will be avoiding Super 8 at all cost in the future. The entire hotel reeked from cigarette smoke, from the moment I walked through the front doors, all the way down to my room. In the “nonsmoking” room was better, until I turned the heat on, then the smoke smell infiltrated. I would’ve rather slept in my car. I didn’t think it was legal to smoke inside hotels. Nasty.

When i pulled the covers back on my bed there was change YES change in the bed .35 AND hair, LONG hairs AND other things i cannot identify. I have pictures. How does a house keeper NOT SEE change on the bed except they didn’t even bother to look from the previous guest which means they didn’t change the linen OR EVEN look at it. This is disgusting and I would like a full refund. The desk clerk when i reported it could not careless. Not one bit. I asked for the manager she was not there and I was told by the desk clerk the manager will probably not call you…but you can call her. Well I didnl call but she has not been there.

My room was filthy and it had a bad odor. Layers of dust on surfaces. Sink leaked. Carpet was filthy and needs replacement. The breakfast was only redeeming quality. Bulldoze the place and start over. You get what you pay for.

What in the 1985 kind of hotel is this? By that I mean the cigarette smoke all inside the building which was shocking and disgusting. As soon as you enter the lobby cigarette smoke smacks you in the face. We had a non-smoking room so we thought we may be okay. But forget about eating breakfast - there is no way we could eat in that cigarette smelling area. Our room was not clean. Areas not vacuumed, gunk on the nightstand not wiped off, spots on the mirrors, dust on parts of the items in the room, and walls that were filthy. Our room smelled like old pasta. The bed was comfortable and sheets seemed clean, but because everything else was gross it wasn’t a restful sleep. The next morning the cigarette smell was in our bathroom and room heavily, and that was it. We had wanted to stay two nights to visit family for the holidays but we couldn’t do one more. As it was our clothes had started to absorb the smell of the hotel. Bedford desperately needs a better hotel. As it stands it looks like in the future we will have to drive the 30 minutes to Lynchburg for a room. To quote a line in Shrek 2, “Eweth.”

After midnight an angry woman in the room next to ours kept slamming her door and we finally had to call the front desk to take care of it. They promptly did so (one plus)and she screamed at them but finally left or at least got quiet. Bathroom wasn't cleaned and stink bugs were crawling all around. Felt like staff didn't really care much.

At arrival (and while also seeing "clean" towels, replaced toiletries, etc.), we found pee on the toilet, dead bugs and other debrii on the very unvacuumed floor, even loose dirt on top of the bedspread. Condition was so bad that we nearly left the hotel (paid in full) to find another place...Were it not so late, and were there something better in Bedford...we most likely would have left. The staff were nice...

This hotel is located directly along Route 460, but can be tricky to depart to visit attractions or shop for necessities as its a divided highway. Very small Super 8 which means, even at full capacity, you should have a quiet stay. Room had limited floorspace but clean and functional. Biggest issue was the moisture from the air conditioner saturating the carpeted floor.

It was fine. What you would expect from a super 8. Two notes. The door wouldn't lock when leaving the room. I had to mess with it a bunch and finally realized I had to engage the lock from inside the room to get it to lock when closed. The bed wasnt comfortable at all. But for the price I got a place to sleep directly across the street from a rofo and a Hardee's

The room was clean and faced away from the highway so it was quiet. On the down side, two of the lamps in the room had to be turned on and off by using the plug. The switches were inoperative. One other lamp didn't work at all.

Check in went great and the dark haired lady was amazing and even took time to tell me about restaurants around the area! I only have one negative thing to say about my stay! I went to eat their complementary breakfast, I started to make a waffle and couldn’t see the plates. There was another couple in there and they were standing next to me blocking my view. I happened to ask the lady behind the counter if there was any plates, she commented beside the microwave and rolled her eyes and went into hiding into the back! I thought that was very rude!! Also the plates were hidden in back of the forks and knives, and I wasn’t the only one who didn’t see them! Besides that one rude employee, my stay was very good. Next time please put the plates in front of the forks and knives that way everyone can see them, and Ms. Rude won’t have to hide or roll her eyes!!

Everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable & the breakfast was good. There was an issue on arrival that was corrected by Don, the evening representative. He told me to check with the manager the next day to verify I wasn't charged twice. He was very nice & took just a few minutes to correct the issue & was very apologetic for the mix up. I spoke with the manager when I saw her either the next day or day after that, she was not very pleasant! She said she would check into the issue, however I had to find her a day or 2 later to ask what the outcome was. As the manager she should have been apologetic & approached me to let me know her findings. It was very disappointing that she represents your hotel & doesn't seem to have any people skills AT ALL. After all this is 'The Hospitality' Business!! The rest of the staff were very nice & made our stay a pleasant one!

We were in town for one night to visit the National D-Day Memorial, and this Super 8 is close and convenient to it. When i pulled the covers back on my bed there was change YES change in the bed .35 AND hair, LONG hairs AND other things i cannot identify. I have pictures. How does a house keeper NOT SEE change on the bed except they didn’t even bother to look from the previous guest which means they didn’t change the linen OR EVEN look at it. This is disgusting and I would like a full refund. The desk clerk when i reported it could not careless. Not one bit. I asked for the manager she was not there and I was told by the desk clerk the manager will probably not call you…but you can call her. Well I didnl call but she has not been there.

Great place to stay. From the very first encounter, the staff was very professional and courteous. I felt the lobby had a very efficient and accommodating layout, everything makes sense. Very thoughtful touches in the room. Amazing breakfast with a WAFFLE IRON yall. For the price you absolutely cannot beat it. It should be higher honestly. Just my opinion! 5 stars!!!!

Don, who greeted us at the front desk, was excellent!! The best check experience I’ve had in years! He was so helpful in places to eat nearby, explained breakfast procedures, and when I brought to his attention an issue with one of our outlets not working, he immediately made a note for the maintenance staf! Staff was very friendly and hospitable. Clean hotel and close to good restaurants and sightseeing . Only improvement I would suggest is bigger pillows and more blankets on the beds . Also had to move the microwave to use it as the cord would not reach and was not plugged in when we arrived

The evening desk clerk was very patient, attentive, and comforting to me after a long winding drive on back roads in the dark. He explained the particular traffic conditions in front of the hotel to increase my safety awareness. The room was immaculate, with the exception of fingerprints on the clear stand for tv guide holder. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, if needed, and give recommendationto anyone planning to visit. It's a good stay for the price.

This hotel is located directly along Route 460, but can be tricky to depart to visit attractions or shop for necessities as its a divided highway. Very small Super 8 which means, even at full capacity, you should have a quiet stay. Room had limited floorspace but clean and functional. Biggest issue was the moisture from the air conditioner saturating the carpeted floor.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Front desk staff was kind, welcoming and helpful. The location felt very safe and was clean, my room was well stocked and clean, it was quiet and peaceful. Parking was totally fine, the location was perfect and I even had a view of the hills and mountains from my window. Would definitely come back and stay again and will recommend to friends/family! Stayed here while on a motorcycle trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very nice hotel. Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Location was close to town and was a short drive to a few restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

It’s a Super8- not much to discuss. We checked in late at night and the staff was lovely; the fridge in our room made a horrible buzzing noise but we just unplugged it; clean, and had a solid breakfast. We were just looking for a cheap bed on our way through town on a road trip. I will say- we got in around 10:30pm and there were no convenient nearby food options open. But it was also 10:30 on a Monday night, so understandable.

Rooms VERY dusty, had to go out to get allergy meds. Especially behind doors, hanging dusty cobwebs and the little ledge along headboard side was BAD. Also came down to grab the free breakfast and it was already being cleaned up at 845....sign says 9am....website says 10am.

Sara at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We asked for a non-smoking room, but our room smelled like smoke, and was very musty. Shower didn’t work correctly, and the bathroom wasn’t clean. As far as breakfast, do yourself a favor, and just go buy yourself a box of donut sticks, and a bagel somewhere. Very limited, no fruit, nothing special.

Regular visitor here, I really like to see the improvements coming. We get the same room each visit, this round was new floors and better mattresses(nothing wrong with last ones, these had more padding). Breakfast could use more protein options but otherwise enjoyed our stay.
