The front desk staff was very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The warm breakfast was decent and the space adequate. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Getting hot water from the shower was a bit difficult as the handle was difficult to manipulate. I chose this hotel because it had a pool and when we went to the pool area, I was very disappointed. The pool itself was beautiful, but the air in the pool area was Not warm and the water was not warm. Unfortunately, my son-in-law and grandchildren were only able to stay in the pool for 20 minutes my grandchildren had chattering teeth and shivering legs..

The night staff when we checked in was very nice and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the breakfast room was large and comfortable. The lobby and halls were very nice, room was big, comfortable beds. What we did not like was that the bathroom smelled like a dirty ash tray and the indoor swimming pool was way too cold to get into. The staff did apologize for that, but when I stay in a hotel with a pool, it's because I want to get in it.

The hotel itself could use some updating. The gym equipment was old and one large piece of equipment was completely broken - shouldnt even be in the room at that point as the cable was snapped. All the TV's throughout the building are very, very old and outdated. The furniture is very old as are the linens and lamps and just about everything. The staff is fantastic, though. The best part of the hotel is actually the bar/restaurant attached.

As of the date Aug 9 this was a nice facility I was a little disappointed that the restaurant/pub is not open for business. Would’ve been nice to know that before I got there. But because it was an economical price it can be overlooked without any heavy complaining. It’s very obvious at this hotel was owned by someone else at one time and is in the process of being switched over to the new name Wingate.

Walls are really thin. Changed from a comfort inn it appears. Was on first floor. Ice machine didn’t work had to go to the other side to find a working ice machine.

The staff was absolutely awesome, very kind and accommodating. From the very first moment of entering the room, it was an overwhelming mold, mildew, closed up awful smell. We travel with Lysol so we had spray an excessive amount to try and cover and overcome the existing smells. Once we toke our shoes off various areas in the room the carpet was sticky and felt absolutely disgusting. Especially near the bar area around the fridge and coffee pot. So we didn’t walk around without shoes.

The hotel was spotless, staff went above and beyond, and this the bed and pillows were some of the best I have slept on in a hotel. This will be my go-to hotel when I am in this area. There was also a lot of storage space in the room. An unexpected bonus was a walk-out patio with outdoor seating.

Room was dirty, towel rack broken, tub wouldn’t drain, tv was broken, no hot water. Bed sat on a noisy tin pedestal which was too small so head of mattress leaned downward. Tub was so skinny that the shower curtain would stick to you when you showered. Horrible experience for price we paid

The first room was utterly disgusting. No mincing words. The tv didn’t work, there were weird stains on the walls, the bathroom was dirty and the smell in the room was horrible. The AC was off upon arrival so it had a super damp feeling also. To top it all off, it was an exterior entrance nestled between people that appeared to be long term tenants and the overwhelming smell of substances not legal in all states. We switched and the second room was minimally improved. Would never stay again or recommend.

Moldy shower, tv broken, and the safety kick had loose screws to where we were locked out of room. Needed 2 maintenance guys to come figure out how to open the door. Disabled and unable to move to another room. No other compensations offered.

It's a cute and huge hotel. Unfortunately while quite large, our room had stained sheets and a dirty bathroom. We were only there for a few hours, so we slept and headed back home.

Clean and basic. Very dated however. Shower faucet very difficult to turn on and off. Room lighting was poor and one of the lamps was inoperable. I’m divided on whether to recommend a major renovation or tear down and start over. Staff was very hospitable and welcoming.

For the price I paid I expected a newer room. There were cracks in the ceiling, stains on the carpet, mold in the caulk in the shower, heat kicked in every 5 mins. Overall, overly priced for a 2-3 star room. Very very disappointed. I will not stay there again.

1st room assigned smelled terrible. Went to front desk and was immediately reassigned to a much better room w/ no oders. This room badly need maintenence in the bathroom, showerhead much to low, caulking has turned, orange, etc.

Room was water damaged bathroom looked like it was repeatedly flooded, heater broken with big puddle of water under it soaking the carpet, 7:30am drilling outside our window, phone disconnected and outlets broken. The staff were (front desk, breakfast) sarcastic, unfriendly and not helpful.

When we checked in, our bathroom wasn’t clean. There was dirty towels left in a pile on the floor by the tub. The floor mat was over the tub and had brown dirty on it. There was only 2 clean towels in the room for us. The next day room service never cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels or toilet paper. Our garbage can wasn’t emptied. The girl at the desk was very nice but they had no one else working so we had to go pick it up at the front desk ourselves. The air conditioner/heater was so loud that every time it turned on, it would wake us up. The room smelled of mold, probably because the bathroom didn’t have a fan. Also the tub didn’t drain. The overall hotel was very run down. We were overcharged for the rooms that we received due to it being a football weekend. We wouldn’t stay there again.

The staff at this hotel is absolutely amazing. The young woman at the front desk was so kind and went out of her way to provide the best service. The young man this morning was equally as kind. Even the maintenance man I met in the hallway was kind. The fitness room was well appointed, clean, and functional. The hotel itself is a little older and has been updated in some areas, but is rather dated in others. After taxes this room was $82 for our one night stay. I find that to be an incredible value! I have stayed in $160/night hotels that were not nearly as nice as this one. But, primarily, I would like to commend the staff who do an awesome job. Thank you!

I’ve traveled to most states & 20 foreign countries. Staff at Wyndham South Bend are exceptional. Tracy, Christine, & Jo went over & beyond in making my stay wonderful. Thank you. Liked the 24/7 front desk. The room was well laid out with lots of work space & wardrobe closets. And the bed/mattress was divine. Overall…a great value for the money.

I booked a room 6 months in advance for a concert. Wyndham realized they could make a lot more money by not accepting my reservation (and many others) and failed to notify anyone. What transpired was an absolute mess. All so Wyndham could make a few extra bucks. I will never stay at another Wyndham ever again. And Expedia has yet to reimburse me for my expenses. An all around disappointing situation that could have been remedied by Wyndham doing the right thing. There were many of us that had no where to go hours before the concert. Some had to sleep in their vehicles. I had to drive an hour in the opposite direction of where I live just to have a place for my family to sleep that night. Do better! You just lost a lot of customers.

Check-in went well but when we got to the room it wasn't the type of room I requested. On Expedia I choose a roll-in/walk-in shower because my father-in-law needed it. The room had a tub and no hand rails. I went to the front desk and she and told her the room didn’t match my reservation. She stated that the room information they received from Expedia didn’t match my booking info. She also stated we were the second person to have that issue that day. They did not have any rooms left with the walk-in shower but she was able to find us a room with a tub that had hand rails and a seat in the tub area. It worked but wasn’t the best situation to find ourselves in. Not sure who was at fault but the receptionist was helpful in finding us a room that worked better for us. The hotel also looks like it just transitioned hands and is under renovation as well.

I would classify the hotel fairly basic, but the staff was very friendly and breakfast included freshly back pastries that were excellent. The hotel is within walking distance to Notre Dame, but it is a long walk. On a football weekend, you can stay here and avoid the cost of parking on campus.

Room was perfectly fine (clean, cozy, modern). Location was convenient for venturing out & not far from Notre Dame. Only complaint, was no fault of the property. As soon as we arrived to where the room was on the backside of the property, there were two, rough individuals smoking weed & drinking in the parking lot at 3p on a Wednesday. Didn’t feel comfortable leaving my vehicle parked where I had it, so loved it to a more open area with more cars/people. Something the property will need to address, but otherwise, the stay was perfectly fine.

Hotel is nice, a little older but room was clean had 2 double beds. Has a bar and restaurant, the bartender was awesome, very nice, only downside it was closing early or we would have came back. Breakfast was decent.

The rooms and facilities were clean and staff was friendly. We liked that we didn't have to leave the hotel to get a bite to eat, as there was a restaurant in the hotel. The only reason I gave this hotel an overall rating of 4 instead of 5 stars was due to the small selection of entrees at the restaurant. My husband and I would have loved a few more options. Otherwise, we had a nice, comfortable stay.

I booked the motel because of the in house restaurant only to find out that the restaurant was closed due to renovations. The man in the room next to me was on his phone and talking very loudly. I could hear every word he said.
