The reception and the rooms are located to the opposite of the street as shown on the website. I got an upgrade at the reception and the room was lovely and cosy. The noise on the street was very noticable but it didn't impact my sleep much. Overall it was a lovely stay.

Check in for the Barbican Rooms is across the street in the Montcalm Brewary. And I was actually put in the Brewary which was fine. Average stay. Did what it needed for 1 night business trip. Was a bit tired and dated but was clean and staff were friendly. I never visited restaurant or gym so cant comment.

It's an old building which has history and a quirkiness to it. Clean, comfortable with great pug the Jugged Hare which serves good beer and excellent food. Convenient location.

The only hiccup is that it isn't at all clear where you go to check in. It is in fact across the street at the Montcalm hotel. Everything else was perfect, however, and I had a very quiet room.

All in all it was good. But in daylight the room and furniture looked a bit jaded. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows and linen excellent. The bathroom was good. But parts of it needed maintenance. Reception and check in is across the road at the Montcalm Brewery. Would i stay at The Barbican Rooms again? Yes.

This hotel is in the best location for the Barbican and has a historic charm to the building. Our room had a few broken tiles in the bathroom which were a danger and the laminate on the bathroom furniture was peeling and in need of being replaced. Staff were all so very good

On arrival we found our room carpet near bathroom soaking wet, and bath waste was broken it took 1 hour to move us to another room which was noisy and worse every time neighbouring rooms used there toilets etc the water could be heard rushing through the pipes

The location of this hotel is the only standout quality. The concierage staff was top notch, but overall staff was average, nothing extraordinary nor as welcoming. As far as the room went, it was probably the worst room we've ever stayed in. Im not sure how or why this property is claiming to be five-star. I've stayed in better 3 star hotels infinitely better than this one. The room itself was not clean, we found random crap under the bed, glasses left with dust. The bathroom itself had missing tile on the wall, all faucets looking like they're about the fall off the wall, and a broken bathroom tile, which led to a ripped sock and a cut on the foot. We chose not to raise raise our concerns during our stay was it was a short 3 night stay and was booked thru a third party(expedia) so we just dealt with it. But the lovely blonde woman at checkout was great and was geniune to hear our concerns and feedback. We appreciate the onduty hotel manager who took our concerns. Im truly confused how this hotel claims to be a luxury hotel. I hope the feedback given can help improve the property because it has a lot of potential. Sadly, despite offers to return on our next visit, we will not be returning nor recommending this hotel.

The hotel website states: The rooms at Montcalm Brewery Townhouse epitomize luxury and sophistication. Each space is meticulously designed to offer unparalleled comfort, blending contemporary elegance with timeless charm. From plush furnishings to state-of-the-art amenities, every detail is curated to ensure a memorable and indulgent stay for guests. I planned travel with every confidence that I would be comfortable and well looked after for two nights at the hotel. But upon arrival I was placed into what seems to bear no resemblance whatsoever to the hotel described. There is virtually zero daylight (let alone, 'stunning city views'), the windows do not open apart from just a crack to let in what is being pushed out from the condenser of the adjacent air conditioner which left me with a sore throat. It is dingy, tired, in places extremely dirty, smells musty, and needs considerable updating to match the description on the website, and certainly the advertised star rating. Far from a 5 star hotel, a Premier Inn would have actually been a far more comfortable standard of room. The management have not yet resolved this complaint at the time of writing.

Lovely hotel in convenient location. Room was clean and tidy with loads of little extras like biscuits (a rarity these days) full compliment of toiletries in the bathroom, and bathroom scales!!!!!. We had a small problem with air con but as we were only staying one night, just let reception know on departure. All staff were friendly and want to ensure you have a comfortable stay

Entry is via the brewery gates, reception staff were lovely, I was taken to my room right above the pub on the corner. I was worried about noise levels but this wasn't an issue. The room was very cold, the air con was on 26 but seemed to blow out cold air. I experimented with it, even turning it off but it never improved. So much so I was either under the duvet or in the bathroom with the underfloor heating and I generally don't feel the cold. Room was very large but very dated furniture - not 5 star

The room looked nice on arrival - lighting could be better. Chair did not fit between bed and desk which was strange for a city hotel and shower screen was broken. It did have a nice feel and reception was great and friendly. Location is great and easy for getting anywhere in London

The hotel could really use a proper renovation. It looks and feels worn and dated, including the fixtures and fittings in the room. Not worth the £200 I paid for a night. There was no bathrobe, no face cloth. The shower was no doubt from the 90s or early 00s.

Welcome on my arrival from Roshan, (apologies if I have not spelt that correctly) was warm, friendly and efficient and just set the tone for a great stay. Quality of the room for the price I paid was really impressive and I would definitely stay again.

My stay at the Barbican Rooms made London a breeze. The location was a quick walk from the Elizabeth line so arriving from the airport was easy. Plus it is central to many other transportation. The staff upon arriving and all throughout the stay were welcoming and attentive. The room clean and equipped with everything down to shoe shining cloth and slippers. Now the BED! Very comfortable and soft pillows. I recommend and plan to return when I visit London again.

Transferred my booking to Paddington, found out at check in. Offered to get me there but not back to the City to my venue tonight or the following day. Didn’t seem to care that they’d taken a prepaid booking which they didn’t honour. Didn’t get to try the facilities so in the interest of balance have marked them average for cleanliness but will never know because I won’t be booking here again. Useless and unhelpful. 2 months later still waiting for a refund, told me to call a travel agent, who never picks up.

The staff were so thoughtful and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and quiet, with lovely toiletries, a great shower, and the bottles of water were very much appreciated. I can't praise the staff enough - so many lovely little touches to make me and my colleagues feel welcome and valued. Thank you.

Lovely welcome and able to leave luggage as arrived early. Really convenient location only 6 min walk from Moorgate tube station. Nice modern room, comfy bed and quite during our stay. Issue with getting aircon to work but luckily wasn’t unbearably hot.

We were 3 ladies staying to go to the theatre. Great location for the Barbican (1 min walk). Most eateries shut because it’s the city and they don’t open at weekends. Room was good. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and there was only 2 of everything in the room. Two cups, two glasses, two waters etc. but overall a pleasant stay.
We were 3 ladies staying to go to the theatre. Great location for the Barbican (1 min walk). Most eateries shut because it’s the city and they don’t open at weekends. Room was good. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and there was only 2 of everything in the room. Two cups, two glasses, two waters etc. but overall a pleasant stay.

I stayed at the Townhouse across the road from the main Montcalm Brewery. The room was a little tired with scrapes on the wallpaper and loose floor tiles in the bathroom. Having said that it was a decent size with all amenities. Breakfast was also a little chaotic and they forgot my order twice. The reception staff were very accommodating and the hotel is very convenient for the city. Price was ok.

Lovely welcome and able to leave luggage as arrived early. Really convenient location only 6 min walk from Moorgate tube station. Nice modern room, comfy bed and quite during our stay. Issue with getting aircon to work but luckily wasn’t unbearably hot.

The hotel was very conveniently located and reasonably priced, walkable to the St. Paul’s Cathedral and other famous London sites. Staff was very friendly and efficient. And the availability of fruits in the lobby was a plus! Our room was comfortable for a one night stay - the mattress was a little old and slightly uncomfortable, but otherwise we had a great time!

It's an old building which has history and a quirkiness to it. Clean, comfortable with great pug the Jugged Hare which serves good beer and excellent food. Convenient location.

The room and facilities where good The only bad thing was the breakfast as it wasn’t fresh but was get in servers The food was just warm and the hash browns were soggy Scrambled eggs looked watery ( didn’t want to try them) no fried eggs on offer :( Had originally booked both mornings for breakfast but cancelled the second day

The hotel was in a prefect location for me, close to The Barbican, and a very short walk from Barbican Tube Station. It has a very elegant reception area on arrival and the Front Desk staff were very friendly, professional and assisted me by allocating a room in a quiet part of the hotel. I slept very well. The Bedroom was very spacious, very comfy bed and lovely bathroom with shower above. I decided to have a light breakfast in my room which I ordered from room service. The only feedback with that was that the granola was served in a very small dish, and there was no milk served with it. Granola is VERY dry unless soaked overnight in milk to produce a Bircher Muesli. There was a lovely pot of Greek yogurt and fruit compote, but even adding that on the top of the granola, it would still have been too dry to eat. So, I did get some milk delivered and very swiftly, but this was also in a small bowl. I had to remove some of the granola in order to add the milk and then some yogurt and fruit compote on top. Then I added the rest to eat a second helping and finish it all up. It was very nice though.

Room had no heat and was freezing. They would not move me until the next morning as it would of been a upgraded room. So they left me in theroom with no heat. They also over charged me and still waiting ting on a refund.
