1st and second shift staff excellent! Cool always helpful honest. 3rd shift it gets a lil sketch. Directly in front of the beach easy walking distance to restaurants bars and clubs. . Good pricing on food in the bar and they make a great Miami vice 10$ happy hour your welcome.. The only issue for me was that the elevator was not working.

The room was a nice size and very clean smelling. The staff were nice and friendly. Only complaint is the elevator got stuck twice so i waited 10 minutes before having to take stairs. The elevator is old and should be fixed.

The room was ok, the hotel staff was very loud during their cleaning time, they are also doing repairs so keep that in mind. The three days I spend there they had the power shut down 2 times. The second time lasted all night and I was miserable with no air conditioning.

Great location on Southbeach & close to cruise port. Slightly difficult to pull car in front of hotel to unload luggage & parking is in a public garage about 1/2 mile walk. Coffee and breakfast available for $11. Rooms slightly small, but fit 4 suitcases. Beds 3.5/5 comfort, but good blackout shades. Very clean room.

Great location, but rideshares wont pick up there. Service was fine. Elevator is scary and broke my nail on the metal gate. Beds are not comfortable - super soft and you can feel every spring. Fridge barely worked. No soap in the bathroom.

Hotel is in great location and while it’s an old building and the hallway was dimly light, the room was clean and comfortable and I had no issues. Elevator is a little scary based on age and style but it worked as designed. Parking is tough but the public garage on 7th ave is a short walk and half the price of valet.

Shower needed cleaned better. Not only do you pay the price of the hotel but then there is a $20 fee for the parking that is several blocks away from the hotel. It’s super busy. Just wasn’t a good experience

The staff and the location of this hotel is all that this property has going for itself. The hotel was dark as well as the room. There was an odor in the room that smelled of perm or curl activator. The bathroom shower curtain had mold all over it and there was mold on the refrigerator. The elevator was out the entire time. I’d rate it a 3/10 and I’d probably never return.

Reception staff were amazing very helpful and attentive. However the cleanliness was disappointing, wi does were dirty, the bathroom door was dirty and the shower didn’t look clean though that could have been just the grout. Bed was massive and comfortable but there was a lack of power sockets. Our request for a high floor and beach view were granted and the view was to die for.

I would like to preface, the staff are AMAZING, extremely helpful! We were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was definitely too small, I wouldn't suggest for 4 people. Although the room was clean upon arrival, I discovered there is a roach problem. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, turned on the light, at least 10 scattered in various directions. I woke my husband up and told him that we have a crisis, he told me to go back to bed, we will be checking out in a few hours to begin our cruise vacation.

Needs updated everything i understand its a art deco area but still very outdated everything having to ask for beach towels every day and towels to shower with every day sucked. Wifi was horrible in the room.

Check in when great got in earlier than expected. But the tv remote wouldn’t work tv. When to front desk for assistance he said he would be right up. Hour goes by no show went back to desk no one there. Room was above an unknown night club 1:45am no sleep went and asked if the music ever stopped. Was told it would in about 5 minutes. 2:45 it finally stopped. Room was nice and clean.

Likes: Steps from the beach, lots of great patios and restaurants and stores within 10 minute walk, great vibe being located right on Ocean Dr. Location is a 10. Desk staff was friendly. Dislikes: Hotel is old and dated. Paint peeling from walls, rooms are tiny (but clean), bathroom was tiny and damp. Our view was of a weathered concrete wall with windows staring directly at us from 10 feet away. Had to keep blinds closed. AC barely kept room cool. Overall the place was ok simply for the location. Would probably look for a different place next time.

We booked the Oceanfront King Suite and it was perfect. The room was nice, along with the amazing view and the restaurant connected to the hotel serves great food. I believe it’s called Montana’s. The staff was really friendly too. The only thing was the Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, but who cares when you’re on vacation :)

Great spot. Sure it may not be the nicest hotel room you'll ever stay in, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in location and legacy. Very cool. We'll stay again no doubt.

I had a pleasant experience at this hotel. The breakfast service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The elevator was small, but it worked well. However, there was a minor issue with the bathroom door in my room. It didn’t lock, and when I called the front desk, no one came to check on it. Despite this small inconvenience, the dinner was delicious. Asked for a wake up call never received it.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about The Colony and its staff. We had air conditioner issues the first night of our stay and we relocated to a room that was less luxurious than what we had booked but the front desk sent up champagne and that definitely went a long way. Every single staff member we interacted with was amazing and they all went out of their way to make our stay perfectly amazing; they treated us like VIP’s. Aside from that, the location is ideal! Easy access to the beach, convenience store, restaurants, and shops. We ride shared to the hotel and back but didn’t need a car the whole time. We will absolutely stay here again.

A little bit of a screw up upon check in-- I bought a beach view room through Expedia; when they gave me the key and I walked in, there was already someone else in the room. After the desk clerk worried over it for a while with both me and the other party standing at the desk, I suggested he just give me another room, since they were a young family who were already unpacked and had used the bed. I asked that they just refund me the difference in price, since I got a room staring out at the wall of a neighboring property. It's been a couple of days and so far, no refund. But that might be complicated by having booked through Expedia. Regardless, despite the screw up, its a nice place with friendly staff.

My only complaint about this place is the same one voiced by others. Dance club racket until early AM...made worse by the fact that it's a continuous, repetitive, unchanging unending beat for hour after hour. Cool hotel. Good food. Very nice people. BRING EARPLUGS.

The Hotel is in a great location, the service was excellent and they even upgraded us to an Ocean Drive room which was lovely. The only thing is that room can be a bit noisy. We knew the nighttime would be noisy, but it did still reduce sleep time. However I would go back, just ask for an inside room.

Property is an older building but has the flair that comes with south beach itself. Nothing fancy but definitely great location, good place if you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in the room due to lack of space.

Property was clean and very convenient location. Their lobby and speak easy bar downstairs was very cute but a bit overpriced. Staff was nice and friendly. The beds need to be replaced as you could tell they were very old is why I'd give 4 stars. Overall, I'd recommend it, especially if you're walking south beach!
