The Betsy is situated on a quieter area of South Beach, Miami. You can walk everywhere, the hotel is beautiful, 2 swimming pools, decorated in Colonial style with added touches of luxury. The staff are amazing. The hotel has its own section on south beach though we preferred the rooftop pool area. Musical entertainment in the evening and so much going on around the hotel outside

Beautiful boutique hotel. Bar and restaurant very good but expensive. Gratuity added to everything including just drinks. But all bartenders were very personable and kind. Actually, all staff went above and beyond to make our stay positive and happy. Beautiful art all throughout the hotel. A huge ball suspended in mid air connecting the two buildings. A library in the hotel as well as books everywhere including books in the room. My wife loved that. The rooftop pool could use a little love as tiles were falling off and a lot of bird poop. Not the hotels fault, but the beach had homeless people sleeping throughout. If we were to return to south beach, we would stay there again. But it seems like south beach is not as “nice” as it used to be.

It's a great boutique hotel. Nice reading rooms, great breakfast, good location. Friendly and helpful staff. My only gripe is that the gym equipment required maintenance and repair.

Rooms comfy and quiet! Free breakfast was delicious! Rooftop pool and bar was gray and chairs were available all three times we went. Lobby bar with free music was a nice touch!

Very nice Boutique hotel. 2 min walk to the beach. Umbrellas and towels included with the Resort fee. Delicious breakfast. Very nice piano/live music im the evenings.

Hotel staff were amazing! Great customer service. Room was very nice. Only issue we had was the bathroom had an awful smell that we notice the morning of our checkout and unfortunately we were next to the alley and it was trash day. So the extra noise was not pleasant.

The Betsy was a great place to stay. They had live music both for breakfast and dinner. Lots of areas to sit and relax and do some work if you needed. Very clean property. I always saw people cleaning. We enjoy our stay.

I paid $1,300 for a one night stay. Initially the room we were assigned had mold on pictures and the room smelled like mold. The manager Chris was able to re assign us to a suite, which was completely an upgrade from the older section. Once the room was ready, we went in and there was hair on the chair in the living room and a cup and ash tray full of cigarettes and coffee on the balcony. Trash can was not thrown out from previous stay. I expected a luxury stay and the aforementioned did not reflect that experience.

We had a fantastic stay at the Betsy. Location was amazing, hotel beautiful. Rooms were great we had a King Suite to sleep four of us and it was perfect. Plenty of space spread across two rooms. Super comfortable bed & sofa bed, great AC and lovely bathroom. Room was cleaned to a top level everyday. Are ate the restaurants

I booked my stay at the Betsy based on reviews and the aesthetic of the property. It is an old building. That being said, rooms are tiny! The bed I slept in the first night was uncomfortable and had a dip indentation in it (not comfortable.) I went to the restaurant downstairs for a late lunch, the table was dirty- I had to ask to have the booth seat cleaned and I wasn’t greeted or asked to be helped when I was seated so after a while I eventually left to eat somewhere else. The next day I woke up and had breakfast downstairs and it was a pleasant experience. I did change rooms to upgrade to a larger room. The sofa in the room is rundown and sagging (old Ikea?) Unfortunately the television in the bedroom did not work as well as the telephone. When asked if something could be done I was told that there wasn’t anyone available to address the problem so I could not watch TV in bed like I like to do. Also, using the one phone that worked in the living area to call to asked for help- was unavailable- the front desk would not answer calls. So I had to walk downstairs to asked for help. The rooms are decent but becoming run down, there were several hairs in the both bathrooms that I stayed in (gross.) Unfortunately I do not believe the price of the hotel matched the quality of the accommodations.

The location was so ideal for me. Quieter part of Ocean Drive but walking distance from a lot of restaurants / Bars etc. The hotel is literally across the road from the beach where you have access to towels, beach chairs and an umbrella covered in the resort fee which is fantastic and hope they continue with. The beach was nice, clean and well staffed. Staff onsite were very professional and friendly. The room we had was nice, clean, and true to the picture, minor wear and tear; also the room we had was quiet which I liked. I would definitely stay again. However in terms of space, the King is extremely limited. There's not much space generally, also in terms of storage space and there's nowhere to sit accept for the bed. That was a drawback but nothing that would stop a return stay. The room is very aesthetically pleasing, comfy bed etc. All the things you'd want in a nice stay. The rooftop pool though small was nice. We unfortunately were charged for an item in the room we didn't use/ take, but once we highlighted this, they refunded the charge immediately which resolved it, and was obviously the right thing to do, though it did show good faith on their part. Sometimes hotel picking is a gamble but I'm very glad I ended up picking this one and would stay again :)

The Betsy South Beach is a gem with all the charm and splendor of a 5 star hotel. It is an older hotel, much like the others on this part of South Beach, but unlike other hotels, the service here is top notch. From Fritzner at the front desk, to Fritz the bell hop, to Ana the hostess at LT Steak & Seafood - the staff were all professional, warm and friendly. They made you feel so welcome! The rooms are adorned with books and artwork giving a feeling of being at home. The only drawbacks to this hotel were the air conditioning and size of the room. The air conditioning isn't very strong, so the room felt a bit humid, especially after using the shower, but was still comfortable at night when the outdoor temperature goes down. Next time, we will book two rooms for our family of four, so we could have more space. There are plenty of places to sit and relax at The Betsy. The library and adjacent hallway as well as the lounge/lobby have plenty of couches and comfortable chairs, not to mention outside with the many patios. The swimming pools are well taken care of as well as the gym. Water and towels are available at both pools. Bottled water is readily available to guests at the front desk or from housekeeping in your rooms. It is situated on the quieter part of Ocean Drive, but the beach, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Miami!

We went for a girls weekend and were really excited to stay at the Betsy. Unfortunately we were let down. Does not feel like a 4 star hotel - more like a 3 star. There are no amenities except for the pool. The rooms are super tight, the walls are very thin and the beds are uncomfortable. They made many mistakes during the stay for which the manager apologized at the end of our stay. Great location though.

Initially we have been in a room with balcony in the new building, and it was really small for a 5 days stay (maybe for a 1 night would have been okish). We then moved to a classic king in the old building, space was good. A bit noisy, the ventilation system makes noise 24h and also kids running around outside the room in the corridor. There is a 45usd charge for jazz and beach services, the staff on the beach is not very approachable and there is basically no service, food or restroom facilities. Would not come back. Would recommend a refurbishment of internal areas and rooms: even if we understand the history behind this landmark, they are a bit outdated. A refurbishment would guarantee the 4 stars category and get Betsy back to where it should be!

Love the location and the hotel. Our room was large, but backed up to an alley that was very loud early every morning. Our location in the hotel could have been better and I feel there were plenty of rooms available for them to have placed us. Not sure about this one. Great location and cool building but service seems off. They didn’t have the room types we had reserved weeks ago so switched it to something else without letting us know. Luggage was never sent up. Currently waiting for a long time for someone to come and make up the kids’ bed. Not sure we’d book here again. Dinner was good.

So delighted we chose this hotel. All departments really went above and beyond to serve us in such a kind and personal manner. I think their motto must be, “If it would help our guests, we’ll find a way to do it”. We wish we would have selected the same location after our cruise, too! Any time we go to Miami again, there is no doubt that we will book The Betsy.

I had high hopes for this property based on the reviews that I read. I am hoping that the events that I experienced are isolated incidents and not the norm for the property. Here are my notes: 1. Upon arrival, we were having trouble getting to the hotel because our GPS took us to a road that was closed. We tried to call the hotel but no one was answering and the vm said that we called them during outside of business hours. How does this happen that you can't get a hold of front desk? We circled around for a few times until we decided to park and walk to the hotel to find out how to access valet and baggage drop off. They gave us instructions on how to do this. Hotel Request: It would be helpful to provide an email that details parking, valet, and direction to hotel since the road was closed. Getting to the hotel was tricky until you learn how to drive around. 2. Upon arrival, front desk was helpful but we were not notified that they were having phone issues because the lines were always busy. 3. Our room was over $800.00 per night so when we called for room service for our breakfast, I was mortified to discover that they packed our breakfast in boxes and disposable containers. It was terrible eating from take-out boxes. 4. Housekeeping missed replacing our towels and taking the trash out of our room. Pros: The hotel comp'd our resort fee. The property is really nice but the service was subpar during our stay.

Service is superb! Friendliest and most helpful staff no matter who you interact with. Not a party hotel thankfully but they do have nice programming (piano Playing) in the lobby at certain intervals). And you get to see the cute pups that the owner has who hang in the lobby every day! Safe location, walkable to a lot.

This was my first stay at The Betsy and I cant wait to return! The hotel is located in a great location on the quiet end of Ocean Ave. The building is well maintained with a ton of thought put into everything. The library is beautiful and a great place to relax or catch up on work. The restaurant located on the main floor has delicious food and a great ambiance. I highly recommend dinner there! Staff always try to go above and beyond. Special thanks to Fritz and Mario for making us feel so welcomed. The cleaning staff were also very thorough and welcoming whenever we encountered them. Every elevator and hallway had a fresh pleasant smell. If the beach isn't your scene, the roof top pool is a great place to relax, drink and catch some sun. The bartenderand pool staff there are also very lovely. I highly recommend staying at The Betsy!

Very dissappointed they did not give us the room we booked. We booked a quiet ocean view king bed and ended up with two regular beds with horrible noise. It was a bait and switch. Very sad as I have stayed at several excellent Miami hotels and this one has the same potential but if one cannot sleep what is the point. When I checked in she promisded me the bed was a Queen. It was not
