A charming property with friendly staff. The lobby and the library are gorgeous. There were some maintenance issues like trash around the pool, damaged furniture in the suite and hot water that took 10+ minutes to heat up. This property is described as “luxury” so I had high expectations. It just seems to suffering from some differed maintenance. I was disappointed. However, the location is awesome and I highly recommend The Alley Pizza. Very delicious! Loved: Staff, vibe, nightly music. Didn’t love: No streaming channels on TV (I admit it, I’m hooked.) Mini bar in lieu of fridge (they did empty at my request). Nespresso machine—I’m a tea drinker but it must be great for coffee drinkers. Thought it was overpriced for the “frayed” luxury. Oh, and the picture on the website of the rooftop pool shows a view of the ocean. That view is now obscured by a bar. If you stand up and walk behind the bar, you can see the ocean.

Our stay at The Betsy was one of the highlights of our six week road trip! It is beautiful, elegant and a much better experience than those we had at the large skyscraper hotels. The food was excellent, the room was clean and beautiful, and the location was perfect! The one disappointment was there was no onsite spa. I planned to get a massage and pedicure while there, but it turned out the spa was no longer there. Mistake on hotels.com’s part.

I loved the ambience and location of this hotel. The restaurant was superb. We felt that the room could have been furnished a little nicer, especially for a suite. There was a tear in the head board material and the furniture was scuffed.
