Enjoyed the stay but hated that the pool closed at sundown. One of the reasons i reserved this was for the pool which i never got to enjoy due to work . So nice place if your don't want to swim, it's adult only but need a life guard on duty.

It's a great Art Deco hotel, excellent location, relatively affordable and I love being on the boardwalk. Only downside was the construction from the Delano next door (it looks like it will be ongoing for a while), and construction on the beach due to an upcoming food festival. they were putting up tents

I would def recommend this hotel, service & staff were top notch and location is perfect to the best dining. Rooms were clean and we had plenty of room as well as closet space , room service was daily and we called for ice and it was delivered immediately, pool was lovely X 2 and not a long walk to the beach. Chair & umbrella service was complimentary & so appreciated.

PROS: Beautiful hotel with amazing views. From the moment we got there felt like vacation. Huge pool and direct beach access. The staff at the beach were extremely helpful and accommodating, especially Elijah and Gigi. The food at the beach was absolutely spectacular, the cerviche was some of the best I've ever had. And the food at the hotel restaurant Mareva was outstanding. Go for the chef's tasting- it is worth it! CONS: Major cons are the added fees. I hate add on fees and would rather hotels just be up front about the cost of the stay. There is a $50 resort fee per day as well as a $50 parking fee per day. Really upped the cost from what I was expecting. Also given the price I was surprised they didn't have app services available on the TV, only Netflix, which I don't have an account for so couldn't watch TV, had to watch on my phone. I also have a problem paying extra for the "resort fee" when features aren't available. For example, we didn't get to use the pool chairs that are included in the fee; they ran out of room. The staff was very gracious about it, and the beach was amazing. But the principle... OVERALL: Would recommend. The amenities, the food, the whole experience are great, just be mindful the price is actually $100 more a day between the resort fee and parking. If I had been psychologically prepared for that it wouldn't have bothered me as much.

Overall, it was a decent stay, but with a few glitches and disappointments. On day two of my stay, a strange noise started emanating from the neighboring room. It was incessant and intolerable. Maintenance couldn’t seem to figure it out. Nevertheless, the desk clerk offered to give me another room, however, with an up charge. Completely appalling and unacceptable! Also, there were only two elevators, and one was out of service for a day and a half. This was my third day at the national, but I’m not sure I would return.

Beautiful property. Amazing staff. Eric at the pool is so nice and tentative. He is first class for sure!!! Hotel is really adorable with the art deco look. The pool is amazing with the long lap pool. The room was a little musty so we bought a candle and that helped. Otherwise all was amazing.

I booked this hotel for myself, my husband and two other couples. I was pleased with our city view king suites size and cleanliness. We were supposed to get room service daily, but they missed 2 days during our stay for one of our rooms. I was disappointed at the lack of entertainment at the hotel, but local bars and restaurants do have fun things going on. I thought there would be someone playing the piano in the hotel bar and also I thought they would have something celebrating July 4th Holliday. Breakfast at hotel was good. Drinks at the bar very expensive. All servers and Beach attendants were very nice. There was a lot of seaweed at their beach the last few days of our stay and I was surprised they don’t clean it off daily, as I have seen other hotels do where I have vacationed. Overall it’s a nice, laid back hotel.

This was our first time staying in an adult only property. We were traveling without the kids and the National Hotel was an amazing option with no kids. Hotel was super clean, rooms were nice size, housekeeping was AMAZING!! Can not say enough about this property. We will definitely be back!

The property was very cool! Very retro vibe and The pools, location and ambiance were great. However the housekeeping was very hit and miss some days were great other days we had to call 3 times to get our room serviced and even then they didn’t make the bed or sweep or replenish coffee this was very disappointing as the property itself was so amazing. Not to mention it’s not an inexpensive hotel so felt the housekeeping needed a lot of work.

Love the Hotels historic nature, staff was awesome, now here is the problem. We stayed in a poolside suite, The music from the speakers around the pool go late into the night and then in the AM they use a high pitched blower around the pool starting at 7:30 so if you want to sleep in on your holiday this is not your place

Great pool area. Rooms were small and dated. The bathroom was barely workable in terms of size. Only one elevator was working during my stay. Staff was generally courteous. I would reurn to the bar area for a cocktail but i will not stay here again.

I loved the ambiance of the lobby and pool area. Super nice! 5 stars. Customer service was also great! Everyone was kind and very helpful. I was not impressed with the room. Super small (especially the bathroom). Very underwhelming when we walked in. I know it's a boutique, but it could definitely use an upgrade. Lots of things looked patched up instead of properly fixed.

We realize that this hotel is historic and iconic, but only one elevator worked the entire week. The other elevator was very small because it was historic. Only 2 pieces of luggage could fit in with 2 people. The bed was luxurious but the bathrooms are very small. On our second day the electricity went out and did not come on for 10 hours. It got to be 80 degrees in the room. Nothing was offered to the guests to compensate for the loss of electricity. Thankfully there was a ceiling fan over the bed and we eventually cooled off. Our oceanview was nice, with blackout shades. We did not realize that the hotel next door would host a club party on Friday and Saturday night. With our windows closed the thumping music went on until after midnight. This was not restful in anyway. During our stay the old AC unit started dripping water onto the floor all over. A repairman came right away, vacuumed up the water, tried to fix it but it continued to leak. At 11:30 pm we had to request a move, pack up our belongings to go to another room. As a result we were compensated with not having to pay resort fees for our stay. Things we loved: the staff, Connor, Elijah at the beach, Gigi at the bar and on the beach, Kiki at the front desk, Rachel at the front desk and Paul, the doorman. The two pools are extraordinarily gorgeous and lovely. The beach chairs and umbrella every day were incredibly helpful and appreciated. The food was very good, drinks were a little pricey for Midwestern standards.

Mixed Experience – Great Hospitality, But Property Needs Renovation I booked this property expecting a 4/5-star experience. While the hospitality, front desk, and staff were all excellent and very welcoming, the condition of the property left much to be desired. The hotel feels quite old, and this is especially noticeable in the rooms—particularly the bathroom, which was extremely small and outdated. Despite being given a room on the top (11th) floor, it lacked the charm and ambiance I expected from a high-rated property. The bathroom was so cramped that I struggled to keep my makeup and toiletries in place without them falling over. Full marks for service and staff friendliness, but the property itself definitely needs renovation to elevate the guest experience. A more modern, luxurious update—especially in the rooms and bathrooms—would make a big difference

I had the very best stay at the National Hotel. The pool side area was one of the very best with the staff so attentive and kind. Truly couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is quite quiet, very rare there were people in the bar itself. The best location in south beach, I was able to walk most places and so convenient. The rooms are a little tired and could maybe do with a slight upgrade as drawers etc were rather stiff but overall didn’t affect my stay. Next time I’m in Miami i’ll be making a beeline to this hotel

The check in and check out experience was smoothe and the staff was friendly. Great access to the beach and an attractive pool area that included shaded regions. There was even a heated pool. Room was clean and functional. Sink and shower features were intuitive. Roomy walk in closet. One drawback was that there was no large desk surface for work.

Had a late afternoon flight and were able to stow our bags and hang by the pool and use the hotel’s amenities all day. Couldn’t recommend The National more. If you’re lucky, you’ll have Victor singing piano tunes on a Saturday night.

The food service staff by the pool and beach were very inattentive, had to ask multiple times for food, the hotel will message you and almost advertise a early check in but never happened, also was charged twice for the same meal, an currently disputing with cc company. Once on my card and again via the hotel. I brought it to thier attn and was just told I wasnt even tho it was clearly on my cc bill and the room charges.

We traveled with a large group and the secuirty officer kept harassing our family. We had several rooms including the penthouse We walked across the street for breakfast and brought our pastries into the lobby and we're told that we could not eat inside or outside the facilities. The officer was rude and told us that we had to eat in our own rooms. Then the next day we were at the pool area and we had stopped to get some water and some snacks for our cruise and we had already checked our bags and he told us we had to leave the facilities. I would not recommending stay here without targeted by the security officer and again he was most unfriendly and unprofessional.

The hotel is very clean and the pool area is being cleaned daily. Staff are very friendly and helping all the time. This is an adult only which I love - nothing against kids. Walk to private beach is very close and convenient. Would recommend to invest more advertising their Yoga classes :). The restaurant in the Hotel is amazing (Mareva 1939). I always stay in this Hotel if I choose to Visit the Miami Beach area.

The National does not disappoint. The location is perfect. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is clean and staff is attentive and friendly. The option for the beach and two pools is great! Food and drinks at the Aqua Bar are fantastic, a bit $$$ but it's great quality. This is our 6th stay and we will be back.

The property and staff were exceptional. The food for breakfast was great! We got a quinoa bowl from the outs grill that was amazing. We did not try the restaurant for dinner. The staff was attentive. There is construction on a neighboring building which was loud; coupled with noise from guests at neighboring properties made for noisy area around pool. Overall, we will definitely come back.

The personnel were excellent. Professional and cordial. The food was outstanding and I complement the chef. The rooms were comfortable and excellent location. The decor was outstanding. However, there were a few issues: 1. There is no food service or bar at lunch time except at the pool which is very hot and humid 2. The daily cleaning of rooms is too late in the day 3. Most of all, there was only one working elevator. This was never communicated prior to reservation. I would have expected a type of compensation for the inconvenience such as a complementary continental breakfast as a minimum
