Great hotel, friendly staff, enjoyed the pool and hot tub. For those wondering, there is a path out to Kalakau not shown in Google’s walking route. It makes the distance to Waikiki beach shorter. You can self park at the left side of Kalia Rd in levels 5 and 6 of the hotel. The hotel will give you a keycard that can be used to get in and out. All day in and out is $52.36 including tax.

Excellent stay at the Halepuna. Nice boutique hotel. Not beachfront, but beach facing Our ocean view King was lovely.. just don’t expect a full view as there are hotels in front of you One thing though. Pool area on 8th floor was perfect. Cool breeze… but. For all of the money they’ve spent on the property, please put cushions on the lounge chairs. All in all… a real find

We truly enjoyed our stay, only wish the pool and hot tub hours would be stay a bit later so we can relax in the hot tub after a long day. We love the convenience of the location would stay here again when we return.

This is an amazing property with a fancy Japanese Toto toilet and other modern amenities like a control panel for lights and blinds. The only downside is the cheaper rooms overlook a parking lot. Definitely book an ocean view room if you care about the view or ask to be moved to a higher floor. Excellent customer service with an infinity pool that overlooks a peak-a-boo ocean view. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and a stone's throw from the beach. Cool gym with modern workout equipment. Pay laundry if you need to wash your clothes. I'd stay here again.

Location was very walkable to the beach and the shopping area. Enjoyed the bakery next door (fav coconut pastry). Came in November where it was windy and couldn't enjoy the pool area. Dislike where you can't use the sister pool at Halekulani. Staff friendly.

Highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful customer service. Eric and Ryan were very helpful. We had the ocean view room and it was beautiful. The infinity pool was also very serene. Thank you for such an amazing experience. Can’t wait to be back!

Pro: I think the location was great! Close by to food entertainment and shopping. Staff was excellent!! Quick, happy and efficient valet. Gorgeous pool and hot tub. Jerome and staff were wonderful poolside. Easy beach access through a walkway across the street. Con: The room itself was average. I thought for almost $500 per night the room would’ve been a little more luxurious—but peeling wallpaper, visible touch up paint, unraveling woven chair. The upgrade to Oceanside view was a partial view of ocean and the hotel beside it. Pool closes at sunset fyi.

I just got back from Hawaii and my family and I stayed here for 6 days and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive from check-in to check-out. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the central location, which made it easy to explore the area. The on-site restaurant also served great breakfast options. Awesome location at Kuhio Beach area close to many stores and restaurants. Pool side is at the 8th floor and the pool attendant lady is very attentive and always making sure everyone is ok. The only negative experience i got was finding long hairs in the restroom sink area. Informed front desk and was told it will be fixed by the emd of the day. Came back and the hairs where still there. They apologized and fixed the problem they even helped me with late check out due to my flight departure was moved to an evening flight. I was so thankful for that. Will i stay here again ofcourse. I forgot about my coupon for the buffet breakfast so i will need to do that next visit. Thank you again Halepulani Staffs

As soon as I entered the room, I was disappointed to see saliva droplets on the full-length mirror. During our stay, we encountered the cleaning staff several times and saw that they were working hard. I imagined there isn't have enough cleaning staff. It was very bothersome to have to go getting water every day. The good thing is that atmosphere inside the hotel is quiet and the location is very convenient for shopping. The pool was also good for swimming. I think ....., I'll probably stay again.

Housekeeping was great, pool staff were friendly. We were staying on the top floor (23) in a deluxe ocean view room near the elevator. We constantly heard knocking or movement in the walls maybe from the elevator or air conditioning. We told the front desk who said they would have engineering check and didn’t hear anything back and shared again during check out and was pretty much dismissed with no real solution or follow up, or general care.

Best hotel ive stayed at in Waikiki. New rooms, very clean, friendly and attentive staff, and great facilities. We had a late flight and they even have a room and showers you can use until you leave. Very nice rooms, however the balcony on the city view side is very small. The king size bed seemed a little smaller than other kings. Overall very good, will definitely go back.

The room I had for 3 nights on 8th floor was quite stuffy. I woke up a couple of nights and my eyes were itchy and I needed Zaditor eye drops. Air conditioning was not efficient, as much as I turned temp to 22 degree C, still quite hot and not much ventilation. Pillows were not comfortable. My floor is the only floor that has balcony and the weirdest is that I had the WiFi in my room but when I stepped outside to balcony, I lost my WiFi. A few of my visitors had the same issues. It sorta made no sense since the balcony is my room’s area. Although, it’s pretty quiet facility ( as for review ) and the pool is nice with great service ( Yuki & Jarome ) are very friendly and attentive

Everything was amazing my only complaint is that it was very loud above our room. We let the manager know and they came to our room and also asked usbthe next day and we told them it sounded like children running around at all hours of the day into the evening but there was no offer to us to change our room. We stayed for 8 days for our qedsing so the noise at night was horrible.

Stay was wonderful!! Room was very clean. Bed a little on the firm side. Toilet seats were heaven. You will know when you go…beach was a five minute walk. Only downside was the view from our room was of a big apartment building. I was very disappointed and called front desk. I was told all ocean view with walkout balcony were sold out. So they moved us to a city view. Was much better. Our balcony was about 2 feet.. just able to stand. Overall great place to stay. Just ask not to be placed on the apartment building side

Admittedly we arrived early. But a 5 hour wait for our room to be available was ridiculous. We were told a text would be sent when it was ready by two different members of staff. The text never arrived. When we approached the desk, we were told it had been ready for some time. Possibly if 3 members of the check-in staff got a pair of marigolds on and cleaned, it would run more smoothly. Very disappointed with the lack of recycling. Room very clean, other staff were really nice.

Very cleanly, incredibly friendly and attentive staff. It’s practically on the beach and just a 4 minute walk to Waikiki beach. We were on property during the tsunami warning evacuation/preparation procedure and the hotel staff handled everything beautifully. Highly recommend this hotel.

We were here during the tsunami warning of July 2025 and we had checked out of the Halepuna the day before, but when our other hotel had a forced evacuation and we were turned away from five other hotels in Waikiki - no one was accepting new reservations - Halepuna graciously allowed us to return. The staff worked tirelessly all night during the tsunami warning, setting up metal barriers for flood water, providing free sandwiches and water when all other businesses shut down, and even driving guests to the airport at midnight when Ubers and taxis were out of service. I have never experienced such a conscientious hospitality and extreme ownership from hospitality staff.

At check in, the front desk attendant, Annie laughed and said we booked a package and got a low end room, therefore we got a view of another hotel. Made us feel like second class citizens because of booking through Orbitz. Even though we spent A LOT of money on our vacation!

The hotel was very clean and the staff members were friendly and responsive, especially the front desk and the bell desk. Our needs were always met and we enjoyed our stay. The Halepuna is directly across the street from it's sister hotel, the iconic and super-glam Halekulani, which elevates the area. Keep in mind though that the Halepuna is smaller, is not an oceanfront hotel, and has minimal ocean views. Wouldn't recommend it to first time tourists for this reason, but for other travelers it can be a good choice.

Close enough for convenient shopping and dining options but a block away from the noise of the main strip. Less than a block away from Waikiki beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pool has a nice view of the ocean.

The Halepuna Hotel was such a treat! It was beautiful inside and out. I would definitely stay there again. Everything was in walking distance. The hotel is in a tucked away location, away from all the hustle. Beautiful and highly recommend. Aloha!

Enjoyed the stay and the location. Wish the restaurant had a better breakfast menu. Thankfully the Halekulani Bakery next door was available as their menu was fine. Not sure why they closed Monday’s and Tuesday’s though.

Nice hotel, with clean and well amenitized rooms. I would have given a 5 star excellent rating if not for the disappointing dining experience at the lobby restaurant -- pricey, very poor service, and mediocre food quality. Otherwise great stay. Special kudos to the awesome valet parking team at the entrance! They made us feel welcomed from our arrival through to our departure.

The staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel was very well kept and clean. The food and drinks were outrageously priced. For 4 cocktail drinks by the pool cost nearly $100. Great stay but don’t pay for the food or drinks.
