The bed & pillows were extremely hard. Shower head was weak. They offered a portable wand but the hose was so short and would barely reach your face. The property is beautiful and dinner was good at Orchid, but breakfast was mediocre. There is a very small sand corner but no other beach access. The pool chairs & pool are are so low you can not see the ocean when sitting on them and there is no other area to sit and enjoy the ocean. The grounds are beautiful and staff was friendly. Parking was very expensive $68 a night and there was no local discount or incentives for people that live locally. Sadly, I would not return to this hotel and would chose a different one to do a staycation again. Was very expensive for how uncomfortable it was.

The amenities at the property are lacking. Pool - there’s only one pool so it’s adults and small kids. It was a bit crowded and lots of small kids. We booked an oceanfront hotel expecting to see the ocean but there’s no view of the ocean from the pool. It’s blocked by hedges. Beach access - there’s a very small strip of beach. No umbrellas or chairs. With high tide, there’s not really an option to go to beach. We ended up leaving the property and renting chairs and umbrellas on the beach next to Outrigger next door. Also, the beach “walkway” was closed for renovations. Restaurants- breakfast is great. Very pricey for buffet. If you expect to watch the sunset from House Without a Key, you won’t catch much of it. It faces the south and there is a building to the west that blocks a full sunset viewing. Also, you can’t see the ocean from the lawn at the restaurant because it’s blocked by hedges. The entertainment was beautiful - a band and hula dancer. In summary, we spent a lot to stay here but there’s not a lot of reason to stay there because of lack of amenities and access and views to ocean.

Clean, elegant rooms and bathrooms. Cleaning service was very good. Beautiful views of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head from our room on the 14th floor. Great location and many great dining and shopping options within walking distance. Live music every night was enjoyable but i would like to see it run beyond 10pm on Friday-Saturday nights. Not as good: The pool area is only good and not great. The pool attendant made us wait to be seated like a restaurant and that didn't seem necessary. The little beach area at the hotel is small/poor but more expansive parts of Waikiki Beach are a short walk away. Some boardwalk infrastructure at the beach behind Halekulani has not been maintained. When you are shelling out this kind of $$, the bar is very high.

We experienced gracious service from check in to departure. This serene and casually elegant property is an oasis in Waikiki, pristine and private yet steps away from the action should you choose to pursue it. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The housekeeping staff was discrete and detail-oriented. Towels were refreshed twice daily and the room was always immaculate. An added bonus was the ocean view from our balcony. We plan to return.

I have lived in Japan, and ten years in Europe, and have traveled extensively for decades. I have never stayed in a hotel so incredibly well managed as Halekulani! The Staff are beyond incredible, providing services like I've never experienced before. Absolutely immaculate facilities in perfectly maintained condition. Every possible convenience, to include a hi-tech toilet that is an experience in itself. THIS hotel is the standard to which others should aspire.

Way too expensive for the level of service I received. I really had high hopes for this hotel but unfortunately was very disappointed. Rooms don’t have blackouts, and the wooden curtains they have do absolutely nothing to keep the sunlight out. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything happening outside. Staff and kind in general but things you have to ask for things over and over to get them. Restaurant staff were not nice nor professional. I would be very reluctant to go back to Halekulani.

The Halekulani is an absolute gem. From the moment we stepped on property we were treated like valued guests.The hotel is beautiful and in a great Waikiki location. Such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and always extremely helpful. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and creature comforts you would expect at it’s price point. Our only complaint would be the mattress was very firm and we prefer a softer mattress. The hotel may have different room/mattress options however. I had originally booked an ocean view room, upon check in we were told they had upgraded our room. We had a large walkout lanai with a fantastic view of the pool deck area and the beautiful pacific ocean. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We will definitely be back!!

Oasis in the middle of Waikiki! Location is the best you can get in Waikiki. The hotel and the rooms are top notch classy in every detail with a beach house vibe. We had a premium room with Diamond Head view on the 15th floor with a huge terrace I will miss forever. The property is very well maintained and service is immaculate. Do not look further, this is the place to be in Honolulu!

Excellent hotel but disappointing level of service especially by concierge desk. We travelled as a family and I wouldn’t recommend booking this hotel if travelling with children. We were given poor or incorrect information about activities in the area particularly over Halloween. Felt fobbed off by management after I gave feedback.

Nice grounds as always, but staff a bit distracted and maybe we were unlucky with the rooms: had to be moved because of noise and then shower hot water did not work. No acknowledgment of the issues at check out. We may look elsewhere for next trip despite 5 stays at halekulani through the pandemic.

Every aspect was wonderful. Housekeepers in the hallway addressed me by name, a level of service I have only seen in the best Asian hotels. And those housekeepers were fantastic, doing a thorough refresh of our room twice a day, while in other hotels you have to beg the front desk for new towels, and housekeeping doesn’t happen. The restaurants were delightful and the Halekulani Bakery across the street is superb. Could not ask for a nicer experience.

The concierges were outstanding at assisting us in making sightseeing arrangements as well as recommendations for restaurants in the area. We celebrated our respective birthdays here and the Halekulani did not disappoint. From its quiet, understated elegance to its friendly and courteous staff, we felt so welcome and pampered. Despite the property being in Waikiki, it was away from the rowdy crowds yet accessible to everything by foot. I felt that everyone who worked there truly cared about the guests and did everything to make sure we were comfortable.

Halekulani should be considered as one of the finest hotels in the world. Staff are trained to provide impeccable service to guests. Understated luxury & traveler conveniences abounded in my room. Exquisite ever changing views of the ocean, clouds, beach and Diamondhead. Room 1460. The design of the building and grounds lends a feeling of being away from the maddening crowds of Waikiki.

Great location. Close to a lot, they have an ABC store right outside within walk-in distance. The staff is AMAZING. Everyone is so nice and respectful, the place is absolutely beautiful and the food and drinks are all amazing! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel! We will absolutely return

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Haloka Lonnie. The service, room, property, restaurants were unbelievable. The nightly music in room without a key was also authentic and intimate. Our last night we watched Miss Hawaii sing, and do the hula along with a wonderful family ensemble of musicians and singers. this is definitely a place that we will revisit.

Halekulani remains the leading property in Honolulu by far. Unsurpassed calm, serenity, quality of services and beauty of the facilities. The restaurants at Halekulani - La Mer, Orchid are amazing and simply the best in that market in their categories.
