Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint

Excellent location, near shopping, hike and biking trails. Hotel immaculate. Excellent bar area, eating area, lobby and outside seating. Great selection of food, drink and miscellaneous sundries for purchase in lobby.

The front desk was awesome! There was dirty towels left in the 2 room but otherwise decent. The shower knob on the first room was broken so the water wouldn’t turn hot and the second rooms hot water wasn’t hot it was warm at best. And the pool was out of order

The hotel room was damp-at first I thought that the bed felt wet because we had arrived in the rain. However, it seemed the issue was more due to the humidity in the hotel-even the ac vent win the lobby were dripping water. Carpet was stained. Smoke detector was missing. We were provided with only two towels. Went down to use the pool only to find that it was ‘closed for a private event.’ Apparently, the hotel had reached a co Tracy with a swimming school. Therefore, it was closed to patrons. I was informed by one of the swim instructors that it would be open at 6:30pm. Decided to wait in the lobby with my children. I went to the front desk to ask about whether the swim school would be active on Saturday and was told yes, but that she didn’t know which times. I asked ‘is there anyway to find out the hours?’ Her reply ‘are they still there.’ I replied ‘yes.’ ‘Well, then you can go ask them.’ Obviously, I was a bother. We did use the pool that evening, but be warned it is very small. I saw that it listed a 25 person max-theirs is. I way. I was there with my two boys 5 and 8. Another mother brought her three boys all under eight and then a second sibling pair arrived (approximately 12) that pool was FULL. Furthermore, in the description it said amenities included a continental breakfast. Not so. Breakfast was $13. One of the main reasons we picked that hotel was for the pool had I known about the swim school, I would not have booked it. We will not return.

The temperature in the room was 64 degrees. We had to be switched to a different room. Did not realize that breakfast was not included. There was water on the floor of the bathroom because the shower rod was not secure. Had to go down to the lobby to get extra towels. When we registered it took over 20 minutes and there was only one person ahead of us. The pool was being worked on so we could not use it. I expected a Hilton to be much better than that considering the price.

Pool was cold and the pool room was cold. Should feel like an indoor pool. Didn’t go in because it was too cold.

When we arrived at midnight the front desk person said there would be no hot water from 10-4 but didn’t offer any other type of compensation besides to go somewhere else… well it was midnight so I couldn’t find another hotel at that hour and my family was tired from flying all day. So I got up before 10am to try to shower before they turned the hot water off and low and behold there was no hot water. When I asked the front about it they swore up and down they weren’t shutting it off til 10 but that was not the case. So the next day again no hot water between 10-4 but no compensation offered. Again I got up at 6am to shower and still no hot water!! So at this point I’m being lied to. Finally I checked out of my reservation and still nothing was offered for the major inconvenience of not having any hot water even though I was up before the scheduled cut off time! I am pissed because I had to pay full price for a less than quality stay!!!!!

Same person on duty the next day refused to check reservations the day beforeWas told it was the RULES!! Also arrived 15 minutes before closing of one breakfast. Was told I absolutely couldn’t get any more food by 10am when they closed the place down. Asked for 5 extra minutes and was told those are the RULES!! Didn’t realize this was a boot camp hotel and will never be returning. They need some lessons in hospitality!

Rented online and it stated Breakfast was included. When trying to have breakfast, I was informed its only available for a select few. Online also stated there was a hot tub. No hot tub. I just stayed at the Hyatt and could have stayed another night there for $80 less, and had breakfast. The same Cheeze-It has been laying in the hallway since check in. Terrible service, advertising, and cleanliness. 1 star rating or lower.

Roaches was in the hallway and ice room I won’t be staying there again.

This hotel needs a face lift. Rooms are in rough condition and could use some updates. My bathroom had no bath towels or soap upon arrival.

Shower had black mold on very old grout and caulk. Water in shower would only get warm and then turned cold during a short <5 minute shower. Panel on front of bathtub kept falling open. Location is great but property needs a refresh in some rooms.

Within an hour of entering the room a large cockroach ran across the floor. I reported it to the front desk staff who were responsive and offered to move me to another room. I decided to stay so they offered me $10 discounted breakfast for the remainder of my stay. When I attempted to use the coupon the waitress in the restaurant told me it was only for one day and attempted to take the coupon away from me. I notified the desk supervisor who went over and informed her that it was good for all of my stay. I ordered French toast and sausage. When I attempted to eat the French toast, I realized it was as salty as the Dead Sea and the sausage had a terrible odor to it. I guess someone thought I deserved payback. I requested that housekeeping refresh my room but that never happened. When I took a shower the hot water lasted only a few minutes and then went cold for a few more minutes. It seems like there is something wrong with the system or it is programmed to limit hot water usage. Needless to say I won’t be staying at this location and it has eroded my confidence in the Hilton Brand as a whole.

Front desk and breakfast staff were very very friendly and efficient. However our room was never cleaned with clean towels unless we went down to the front desk. When they finally did come to clean they did not sweep the bathroom floor

Great location and reasonably priced. But… The parking lot was littered with trash. The trash receptacle at the entry door was overflowing with trash and trash was piled up beside it. The room I was in was outdated. Old carpeting and chipped paint in the bathroom. For a Hilton I was very disappointed.

The property was neat and clean inside and out with the exception of the laundry room it needed to be swept. One of the staff had charged me for an extra day and it wasn’t a promblem of asking for the money back but he did not credit the money back properly.I had to call back again after 3 days and talked to the manager and she said he had missed a step but she corrected it. Also the halls are hot on the upper floors. I noticed this in another hotel. Is this normal? Never seen it this way in other hotels in other states.

The cleaning staff was our main problem. Came into our room, made the beds but did not change the sheets. Did not replace coffee. Trash still in the wastebaskets. No fresh towels. Used towels dumped outside our door and were there when we got back at 9 pm.

Front desk polite and accommodating. Room was clean. Beds comfortable. Good space. Great location. The heater/air conditioner fan very noisy. The hallways and carpet showed lots of wear and needed vacuuming.

This Hilton Garden Inn has gone downhill. My first night I was in a room with old carpeting and out of date furnishings. The room also smelled of mildew. The bathroom was dirty and with chipping paint. The flooring in the bathroom is old & worn and it needs to be replaced. My second night I switched rooms, because the odor of mildew made me slightly nauseous. The second room was a little better, but it also had old carpeting. The bathroom needs a fresh coat of paint and new flooring. The AC in the room would periodically blow hot air and then cold air. And was quite loud. Overall, the rate I paid was not worth what the room looked like. This location did not live up to what I expect from a Hilton property.

This is not a gamer, friendly hotel you cannot plug anything into the HDMI inputs on the TVs in the rooms so you cannot access any of your streaming capabilities. You can only use the cable TV that they have.

Loved the property. Our door was a little troublesome and stuck a lot.

I thought some of the furniture was outdated. The desk in our room showed servere wear and tear. If i had a complaint it was the noise level. apparently the doorsxare extremely heavy in the rooms. vSo between people coming in and out of the rooms and maid service cleaning. You could not get any sleep on the 2nd floor. vi by no means am a light sleeper. The slamming of the door made you jump. So no sleep the two mornings we were there. Honestly had it not been such dreary cold and rainy weather we probably would have checked out saturday morning. It was not a restful visit. Everyone was nice in the hotel and the lobby and outside firepit was very nice.

Our refrigerator did not work. We had several food items and waters that needed refrigeration. Unfortunately we had to discard costly food items. On a better note our beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Very convenient to the area. I have given this property 5 stars before.

Everything was great only thing I had a problem with was froze in my room. I was unable to turn the air conditioner off or down or even switch it to heat and then also the hot water pressure is terrible. It took forever to feel the jet tub.

It was quiet. The beds were very comfortable.

Reserved a king junior evolution suite, but was given a regular 2 queen bed room. Paid extra and got less.

This was a wonderful hotel. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a hotel staff be so friendly, take such pride in their job, and obviously have great leadership.

Each staff member was incredibly kind and accommodating. Having stayed here multiple times, I've noticed the consistent employee retention, which greatly enhances my experience with each visit.

A/C and hot water did not work in the room i checked into. I called front desk at 10p and did not get an answer. I was not given an option to move to another room until 2p on Friday. The gentleman in maintenance that helped me move my room was very nice and helpful. I was given a free coupon on Thursday at 12:30 pm on Thursday....2.5 hours after breakfast.

Poor attitude at check in. Room was not as clean as normal and things were broken like the remote and the air conditioning had a squealing sound.

W didn’t think a lot of there breakfast buffet. Just seemed like something missing. Staff were nice people. Something off with this hotel.

Normally we stay in Choice hotels (basic stay, breakfast included). But, we had a little extra $ to spend so we chose this place. Overall, the hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Not sure why but we ended up with a handicapped room so it was right in front of the elevator which was noisier than it would have been. The shower/tub were very small and slippery! The shower curtain stuck to the body when wet so that wasn't a nice experience. We had a good night's sleep and was looking forward to breakfast, but that was the biggest disappointment. It was NOT included so we had to pay an extra $14 per person. The food was LESS than mediocre and highly disappointing. We would have been better off going somewhere else. If you do stay here, make sure you don't get a handicapped room unless you need it, and if you do, please use CAUTION in the bathroom! Make plans for breakfast and do not waste your time and money on this "amenity".

The thing I didn’t like was the $12 charge for a minimal breakfast after spending $1100.00 for 2 nights. Very disappointing.

Very nice, comfortable room. Furniture fairly comfortable. However, I specifically chose this hotel with expectation that room service would be available. It was not.

Booked a king suite thinking that we would have a luxurious experience, but unfortunately we didn't. We didnt have heat in the main bedroom, the shower didn't get hot and then it wouldn't turn off. Had to use the guest bathroom sink because it took about 10 minutes for the water to heat up in the main bathroom sink. Didnt use the pool because it was too small. Website says room service was available, but when we inquired about it we were informed "that's a lie the website is wrong." Breakfast looked like the breakfast you would receive for free elsewhere - definitely wasn't worth the prices being charged. All in all not a luxurious stay, totally disappointed.

Hotel was nicely appointed with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Room was clean and nice. Quiet. Most thrilled about the breakfast that they served until 11 am! Great variety, great service from the dining staff. Overall a relaxing, great stay.

I like how professional and friendly I was greeted. The staff was so nice. Rooms so cleans. The area was excellent. I like shopping so having the mall across the street was excellent. The breakfast was good, but I didn't like paying $13.95 that needs to be included with the stay. When I return to the area I will stay again.

Very disappointed there was no complimentary breakfast. They offered a breakfast buffet for $13.95 was looking forward to breakfast.
