The only issue was with parking space as you are not guaranteed a spot even if you pay the fee

There was a lot of construction in front of, and in the lobby of the hotel. A lot of noise and dirt outside and tricky for walking. Room was small but adequate. Breakfasts were excellent. Did not have dinner here due to limitations of menu selection. Check-in was slow. Hôtel was in walking distance of all types of shops and restaurants. Parking on site.

The property was under construction when we were there, the room we stayed in had the garbage bin outside the window and items constantly hit the windows in the morning. The gym equipment was ancient and there wasn't much of it. The rooms were clean and a decent size. Giving most of our dissatisfaction revolved around the construction, it was a good place to.stay.

Gym equipment needs repairs. Other than that, great experience

The property was in a good location, close to several bus stops and within 10 minutes of the main attractions. The only downside was the property was undergoing construction, which began early in the morning and obstructed the entrance.

Convenient location, excellent service. Cons: Gym is substandard Sofa in our superior suite was uncomfortable because it was part of a Murphy bed.

I did not have breakfast but had two meals at Louise, which was fabulous

We had one server who provided excellent service for breakfast, the others were mediocre. Same with the front desk - the staff member who checked us in was excellent, otherwise staff were mediocre (we asked for extra towels and never received). The rooms were lovely, and loved the heated floor in the bathroom.

Clean room. They have about 15 parking spots and it’s first come first served. A restaurant is located on the first floor, and other good restaurants are also available right in front of the hotel entrance.

Yes the room was spotless and all the staff was courteous.

Room 302 is noisy with a view of a gas station and intersection. I did request a quiet room when I booked a year in advance but was emailed shortly after that it was noted but was out of their control due to bookings.... This room has exposed pipes in the ceiling ,unfinished holes in bathroom & tiny closets. The room was clean and we thought the bed and pillows were comfortable .The lobby, elevator and lounge needed a vacuum.The uneven laminate flooring in room 302 is challenging especially waking&walking at night. The space between the bed and wall which has the tv mounted is tight & picarious.There is a small counter with a hot plate, microwave and kitchen dishes coffee maker, kettle and toaster but you have to wash all dishes in the bathroom sink 🤔 note: if you are NOT driving, there is no market to buy food in the area so the kitchen is useless. Realizing that the parking lot was full both nights we stayed, if I was staying post cruise again I would definitely choose a different accommodation as I think this is better suited for a driving destination. Plenty of restaurants near and we enjoyed the 'Buffet' down the street for lunch and breakfast. The last day we dined at the hotel's restaurant Louise which had good strong coffee and a delicious traditional breakfast. It's close to the cruise port and train station. All in all OK but if I was to stay again I'd choose different.

J'ai aimé la courtoisie du personnel et le stationnement, et la proximité du Vieux Québec. Toutefois, la propreté dans la salle de bain laissait à désirer, de même que les équipements (douche à TRÈS faible débit, grandeur des serviettes). Qualité du café dans la chambre laisse vraiment à désirer. La qualité à sensiblement diminué depuis 1 an. J'ai séjourné chez vous 3 fois dans les 2 dernières années, et c'était vraiment mieux. À prix comparables (peu de différence) vos concurrents offrent mieux. Je ne crois pas retourner à votre établissement.

Very nice hotel, the location is excellent. The only negative thing that I have is with the bathroom. Although it was super clean, mold has set in the bottom of the shower floor. This is not a room cleaning issue. This cannot be cleaned by the house cleaning staff. It is a management problem to deal with.

We were very disappointed with our stay here. Firstly, in our hotel room, we noticed a small red stain on one of our sleeping pillows. There were also two bugs crawling in our bathroom. Additionally, there was a foul smell coming from our washroom upon the first arrival into our room, and when we told the staff downstairs, they told us it was a plumbing issue coming from the hotel restaurant downstairs, and that this plumbing issue was causing a smell that was coming through our shower somehow. A staff member was helpful and poured disinfectant down our shower drain to get rid of the smell, but this experience was off-putting and does not reflect the standard we expected from this hotel. Furthermore, it was only once we arrived at the hotel and saw a notice in the elevator that we learned that the hotel was under some renovations and that carpets were being replaced during the time of our visit. As a result, on our day of arrival at the hotel, the hallway path to our room was bare boards and insulation, and there was a stale smell that remained for the entire duration of our stay. We were also woken up each morning by loud noises outside our room because of these renovations, and it made our experience unpleasant. Had we been notified of this ahead of time, we would have cancelled our stay. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay here. For that the price we paid, we should not have dealt with this level of uncleanliness, smells, noisiness, and lack of transparency.

Hotel was very clean. The staff were fantastic! The location is prefect.

The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is well insulated as we didn’t hear any outside noise while situated on the first floor. Very clean with a nice front desk staff.

This is probably the best hotel my wife and I have stayed in as far back as we can remember. The room was large and immaculate even had heated bathroom floor. If you are taking a cruise the ship is just a short walk away. Highly recommend,

Unfortunately this stay was a problem. Our room had no hot water 2 of 3 day stay! Were told one day, they thought it was only second floor when we were on first … second day told it happens when everyone is taking a shower at the same time. Not acceptable

Wifi unstable. Watching a movie on laptop was interrupted a number of times.

Clean room, complimentary sparkling wine and excellent breakfast. Windows are outdated and allowing cold air and noise from busy boulevard intersection. Staff refused to move me to rooms away from boulevard unless I paid double.

My room was located in Building B which was across the street from the hotel itself. Building B is shared between different businesses and does not feel like a hotel. The restaurant, lobby, water, bell hop services, etc is all a walk away. The room itself was basic- a bed, desk, chair, small TV and bathroom. I was disappointed that there wasn't a mini fridge or any waters in the room. The heat in my room did not work the first night and the temperature was below 0. They sent someone over quickly to try and fix it. The blankets on the bed were not warm enough for the weather outside. The bathroom had a strong smell of sewage coming from the drains. I called the front desk many times but was always sent to voicemail. After leaving a message, no one returned my call. I ended up checking out of the hotel a day early.

This hotel has good and bad. We booked 10 months in advance but we got a room facing a gas station directly above the trash storage area for the in-house restaurant. The area was frequented by a rotating cast of homeless beggars and uber drivers waiting for their next fare. 7:00 am garbage pickup is a bonus. Units on the other side of the building, however, got views of a small plaza, the Hotel -de-Ville and glimpses of the marina. The restaurant Louise was wonderful.

Room was not isolated ahd i could hear everything abd i kids were running im floor abve and it kept me awake all night

Very helpful and courteous staff, clean and great breakfasts in the restaurant. Completely enjoyed our stay and appreciated thier help with our odd check in and check out times.

The front desk reception person who was working Tuesday evening, on our arrival, and again on Wednesday afternoon/evening (sorry. Didn’t get his name) is a great representative for the hotel. Helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant and good humoured. The room was clean and spacious.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Staff members are friendly, attentive and efficient. Property is beautifully maintained, and its location is simply perfect.

The staff was excellent, the room was excellent, great bed and linens. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the walking distance to highlights was clearly underestimated. One would have to be a “marathoner” to make it up to the Frontenac in 7 minutes! Even taking the Funicular took 15+ minutes. Quebec has very steep hills and cobble stone streets, very pretty but tough walking. That being said we still had a wonderful time

Front desk personnel were helpful, but they were students from France who didn't know the area, not ideal for informing guests. Breakfast was not included and with only 6 breakfast choices all at CAN $23 without a beverage, we opted not to eat there. You can't even just order a coffee or some eggs a la carte. Shower was extremely difficult to operate with two complicated knobs and an impractical cubicle with no door. Bed was ok but on the firm side. The area is good for walking to area attractions. I would not stay here again. It supposedly has 4 stars but it feels more like a 3 star.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Port Royal, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The check-in process was smooth and quick. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with modern touches that made it both comfortable and functional. The bed was exceptionally cozy, and the linens felt luxurious. I also appreciated the little details like complimentary bottled sparkling water. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walking distance to everything I need. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quebec City.

great staff

We don't generally play favorites with our hotels, but we've stayed twice at Port-Royal in Quebec City and we'll be sure to come back again. The staff were superb, helping with parking and getting our bicycles into safe storage. Breakfast was superb and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We look forward to coming again!

terrible experience. First they gave us the wrong room and insisted that that was the only room available, until we showed the proof that was the wrong type of the room, magically the correct room is available. The parking was a disaster, when check out, only one staff at the front desk and he was super nice to help us locate our car, which shouldn’t have been his job. No bell staff services, and the hallway has steps, so bell doesn’t work well. There’s no sound blocking, We were listening to upstairs tenants walking for hours while our toddler tried to sleep. Terrible, there are many better options around the neighborhood with similar or lower cost, do not choose this hotel.

Perfect location for walking around beautiful Quebec City.

Very close to the picturesque downtown Quebec city landmarks. Steps away from a hop on hop off bus stop. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Overall great location.

Close to pier and lots of dining/shopping. However, the hotel is on the lower part of Quebec so plan on hiking up and down the hill a lot. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful 3 days prior to cruise. This was an easy walkable area. Very convenient for the cruise port. Staff was excellent and friendly. Lots of restaurants close by.

Restaurant Morning Staff could improve on their customer service. Ate there for 3 mornings and the staff just seemed to be lackadaisical. Forgetting to bring orange juice to multiple tables not just ours, brought wrong type of bread for toast ( white instead of ordered wheat ). Front desk staff was great and Housekeeping also great. When we ate outside the hotel property for lunch and dinner the service was superberb.

I was in the annex, building B. Lots of construction right below my window. Front door of building locks behind you and is very heavy. When you step outside the front door, you are immediately on the top of about 5 stone steps and the heavy door hits you from behind. Once it caught my coat and each of the subsequent times, the door hit me from behind. Time for me, but would have knocked a smaller or older person right down those stone steps. The adjacent restaurant, Taverne Louise, has the best French toast I’ve ever had. The building itself is very quiet, it’s just the construction outside the window that was noisy, and it will likely be over soon. Looks like water main or sewer repairs

Excellent breakfast and good service

We stayed here for the Christmas holiday. The hotel is very conveniently located. Rooms were OK, but not spectacular. The staff at the hotel itself was wonderful, the staff at the attached restaurant/bar (Louise), not so much. We stopped in there on our first night to have a nightcap and were rudely escorted out because we didn't have a reservation for the open seats at the bar. When my friend mentioned we were guests at the hotel, the server literally responded "I don't care".
