Had a great night at the Grand. Hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard. We had a lovely room on the fourth floor which had a balcony, jacuzzi bath & a nespresso coffee machine. A comfortable bed provided a good nights sleep. A short walk from the hotel takes you into the city centre where all amenities are available. A car park behind hotel cost only £5 per 24 hours. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Swansea.

My stay at The Grand Hotel Swansea was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent — right next to the station, which makes everything very convenient. The pub was also great — lively atmosphere, good drinks, and a nice place to relax after a day out. Just one thing to note: if you prefer a room where you can open the window, make sure to mention it when booking, as not all rooms allow this. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was nice, apart from the elevator not working. Tried to ask if i could switch to a balcony room instead so i did not have to come up and down everytime i wanted a smoke.

The hotel is very clean well positioned for walking into town ,the food in the bistro is amazing . The only downside was in the corridor outside the rooms there is a strong perfume smell ,not over coming but not really needed . The bath is difficult to get into for a shower if you are older or not very tall

What a find! Just staying the one night with my son for a Uni open day - really convenient for the station. Room spacious and clean. Was raining when we arrived late in the evening so chose to fine in the bar which had a nice ambience, good food selection and really friendly staff - which we found throughout.If he comes to Uni here - we will be back!

Stayed one night...no free parking (not a big deal)...room was clean and comfortable...lounge was OK...reasonably priced for downtown in a city of this size...can recommend if you want a downtown location in Swansea.

The room initially allocated to us was not at all similar to the one we had selected. Went to reception and they moved us to a room that met our expectations, as per the options available in the web page. Apart from that the stay was nice. Very centric. A shame that there is no parking on site. The closest one was about 7 or 8 minutes walk.

This hotel definitely doesn’t live up to the reviews. My room needed a hood clean, there was cotton wool stuck in the plug hole and hand prints in doors. The bed needs replacing as it has a massive dip so a really uncomfortable sleep. Overall very disappointed on what looked like a very nice hotel

Clean and well presented, despite the slightly overwhelming perfumey smell throughout. Room was clean and comfortable, but a bit stuffy. A situation not helped by the inability to open windows and get some fresh air. The airco was somewhat inadequate resulting in quite a uncomfortably warm nights sleep. Also the noise from street was quite bad despite the double glazing. The staff , however, were friendly and helpful, no complaints there at all. Excellent breakfast.

Rooms were spotless and well kept, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Of particular note was the lovely Wendy, the housekeeper who helped us with a room discrepancy. I regret that i didn't catch the name of the lovely blonde staff member at the front desk who also helped us with our room without delay or stress. Everyone was exceptionally kind and warm and the local area was beautiful even in the rain!

Room was filthy with blood all in the carpet and in the bathroom. The room was definitely not cleaned prior to our arrival There was dried blood on the underside of the toilet pan. It was disgusting. We complained and were moved

I like staying in traditional old city centre hotels, this one is superb. Opposite the station, beautiful inside with nice, spotlessly clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff make you feel welcome. Great breakfast as well .I definitely would like to return sometime, I arrived by train but there is a car park adjacent too.

Hard to know what to say really the hotel is nice but the decor is a little over the top like someone went mad with the Wayfair catalogue! Our room was ok but not very clean, we had been left some 'gifts' in the toilet by the previous occupants also there was a wooden floor in the room which was covered in dust and fluff and needed a good mop.

We were delayed being checked in as our room hadn't been cleaned from pervious occupants. Despite the fact we didn't arrive until 15.30 and you were qble to check in from 15.00. Thr room was very basic with no air conditioning. The mini fridge wasn't in place correctly and the bedside table also wasn't in correct positioning either. Due to no air conditioning we had to have out window open and our room right outside the 4 way traffic light system. Avoid room 219 at all costs!!! The noise was horrendous. On further inspection we pulled back the duvet to find dried blood on our sheet. The manager didn't seem to apologetic but the young lady (Fiona) who changed our bed sheet was very embarrassed by the situation and very apoplectic about it. Despite all of this the hotel was ok and the food was lovely hence why we have given it a 3 star. I would not go back to this part again as it needs alot of money put into that part of the town as it is completely run down.

Disappointing stay. Booked classic double room - looks nothing like the pictures on the website. Very old fashioned and basic furniture that didn’t really fit together. Had room on first floor above the function room - noisy both evenings until 11pm due to weddings - no other options as when we checked in this was the “last room available”. Wouldn’t recommend staying here in a classic double room.

Our initial twin room was very small and smelt strongly of bleech on entering. The aircon unit did not work so asked to be moved. Were moved to a room with a balcony. The balcony was dirty but the room was much more of a standard that we would have expected in the first place. The room photos on expedia are very deceptive and are similar to the upgraded room we ended up in rather than the standard room we initially booked.

We have stayed many times at the Grand Hotel because of its convenience for Swanesa Arena. Breakfast is always fantastic. Only given it 4 this time because room was a little dark and drab. Will ask for a different room next time.

Great hotel! Would definitely stay here again. Katie was a huge help with directions and general info. Right near the Swansea train station yet quiet to sleep. Very spacious & comfortable room/bed. Convenience store across the street.

Turned up at 14:35 after travelling a few hours to be told by receptionist that we couldn’t book in till15:00. She didn’t take our names to check if room was ready just to come back at 15:00 hrs. Not what we wanted to hear! Other than that the room was fine, breakfast good and breakfast staff very helpful.

Service was a mixed bag. Some of the front of house staff made you feel like you were disturbing them, the lady that checked me in, however, was lovely. The other woman was not exactly welcoming. Service in the bar area was pretty good, food was nice. Room was very clean, fairly compact but had an awful view. Had requested a quiet room but didn't drop lucky on that score with noise. Housekeeping were out and about knocking doors early on a Saturday morning so no chance of a lie in! All in all, it's convenient for the station and the rooms are clean, but not sure I'd stay again

From the time we stepped into the hotel the receptionist was so helpful and accommodating to the fact we were 3 hrs early . The bar is very relaxing and spacious the staff couldn’t do enough for you . We had an evening meal which was spectacular. And breakfast what a menu beautiful. The staff and accommodations is amazing

Good points: Staff are homely and friendly, bar is lively in the evening (Saturday) and breakfasts are brilliant. Great location, right next to the station, handy town centre car park just £5 for 24hrs. Walking distance to town centre/pubs/eateries etc. No real bad points but Immediate area is a bit lairy in the evening and hotel looks scruffy from the outside and odd that delivered goods are left in public areas. Layout is odd also with the kitchen remote from the dining area and food carried through the reception lobby. Our room was 'odd' too, triangular shape with an en-suite but the bath was in the bedroom! Wonky toilet roll holder, annoying dripping ballcock in the cistern and no sockets by the bed (for phone/ipad charging). All that said, a pleasant stay and just a 10 minute Uber to the Swansea Arena (cost about £14).

Stayed overnight with friends in a triple room which is nice to have as an option. Not all hotels have this. Was a pretty basic room but would expect that for the price. Ideal location literally right outside the train station. More expensive rooms look lovely so would come again and give them a go. No early check in offered even if room is ready which is a shame.

Great hotel. Best bed. Very clean. Steps away from train station, which was convenient for us. We walked around town looking for a pub... Not too many that are close. Hotel has a nice restaurant, but limited evening options. The area around was a bit seedy... Wouldn't want to be out late at night.

Nice hotel. Bad bits. Window was broken so noisy but jammed a towel to hold the handle closed. Shower drain was blocked. Room was a little basic but modern and comfortable. Good bits. Restaurant was great - probably the best hotel breakfast I have had in a long time. Evening meal was good - steak overcooked but apologised and it still tasted amazing. Nice vibe and surroundings. Staff were friendly.
