Sonesta Essential Morgantown

The room was clean and staff was very nice and accommodating. Outside could use some maintenance to clear building of spider webs but nice place to stay.

The pillows were small and nubby. One towel looked about 50 years old. The front entrance door wasn’t working correctly

It was a good visit. They provided a dog bed and treats, water bowl. The staff was really nice as well

The property is wonderful if you have animals!! They was very welcoming to our rather big dogs. They had doggie bones for them. They had pretty good breakfast choices that was included with our stay. We would definitely stay again.

Room was good, but the 'frig froze everything including my salad and apple slices. Very hilly city. This hotel is not near anything else except one restaurant. No microwave in the room, but did have a 'frig. The breakfast was limited, but better than nothing.

Needs major updates and upgrades! The basic amenities of this hotel were lacking. We had a group traveling for our church trip. Several of our rooms had no bar soap in the rooms. We also did not have enough towels in the rooms (only two provided per double queen room). When we asked at the front desk, the clerk said she had no soap at the front and had to go up to a housekeeping cart to find some. The elevator buttons were also broken so you could not call the ground floor. You either had to walk from the second floor, or call the front desk so that they could call the elevator. My understanding that the button had just broken, but it was a combination of several things gone wrong. I am not one that normally complains about hotels, But these were unfortunate discrepancies after a long day of travel.

Surprise there was no indoor pool or hot tub or Exercise Room.

Clean. Staff was friendly. Only complaint was limited parking but hotel was booked full due to power outage in the area.

The parking lot is very rough, needs repaved. The worst spot is the entrance to the property.

Pet friendly, clean and quiet. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was a good rate too.

Our room was shabby (toilet rusted, leaky faucets, cabinet door off hinges) and very dirty (trash left on floors, hair in tub, grime on baseboards, floor and surfaces). What redeemed it at all was the friendly front desk staff, the location, and other guests were quiet.

When we checked in I found that the bathroom was not cleaned at all. We were given another room but the AC was blowing hot air so they decided to clean the bathroom of the previous room and we had that room for the two nights. Very dissatisfied.

If I could give zero stars I would. We walked into the room and it had a horrible smell, we found a bag of feces behind the door, talked to the front desk she put us in another room and the toilet had feces in it and urine was on the floor beside the toilet. The ac/heat unit did not work!!!!

Dirty. Nasty.

Room was filthy; found trash around the bed, dirt and hair in the bathroom. Sheets were ripped and frayed, only one set of towels to shower. Remote didn’t work, batteries were falling out.

towels were stained and looked like they have never been replaced... no turn down service for multiple night stay. Toilet lid would not stay up as it hit the countertop that is pulled away from the wall. Soiled towels were left in the hallway for multiple days. Would NOT recommend a stay here.

My room looked like it needed a deep clean. There was mildew on the ceiling above the shower and the tub was cracked. I had to be careful not to step on the crack because it had sharp edges. The sink constantly dripped and the sink area was not very clean. The air conditioner didn’t keep the room very cool even when I set it on 62. The TV channels came in fuzzy and I asked two people at the front desk for someone to look at it. Apparently they did not. I will not be staying there again!

The staff was very nice. Breakfast area was clean, food was fine. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom floor and room carpets were dirty. Air conditioner was dirty and did not cool the room.

Dirty first room. Got 2nd room. Bathroom dirty in second room 1/3 roll of toilet paper, bed uncomfortable. No soap or shampoo for the shower tv remote didn’t work small pillows. They should have paid me to sleep there

Our room and bathroom were shabby and not clean. There was trash from a previous guest on the floor near each bed. We stayed for 2 nights and there was no housekeeping service after the first night. We had to request clean towels. There was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom and we had to request that as well after we ran out. The shower stopped working while I was taking a shower. A loud noise came from the pipe and the water shut off. There is a reason this hotel was about half the price of others in the area.

Room walls are paper-thin. On both sides of us, the TV's were on, and we could hear everything.. couldn't sleep. The one neighbor left their TV on all night, a very annoying reality.

Tv didn’t work after several requests to the desk. A/C couldn’t Ker the room cool.

Beds were well worn, AC did not do a good job cooling down the room. Other than that room was clean

It's fine. It's a significantly cheaper rate then the typical hotel I stay at but there are downgrades associate with it. There's usually a maintenance task needed in the room whether the drains are slow and need to be snaked or the toilet seat won't stay up. That being sad, staff is friendly and I've stayed here multiple times.

The beds need replaced!

The hotel is nice but we didn’t sleep. The next door neighbors to your right were arguing all night. The walls in our room is very thin. You can hear people talking on the other side of the room.

Staff was kind. Room was okay but very outdated.

Check-in / Front-Desk Staff were amazing. Great customer service. The room itself was small, but clean. House keeping missed replacing a few minor items prior to check in, but nothing major. Also, there are no fridges in room. Besides a few light fixtures that didn't work & the matress needing replaced, it was a pleasant stay over all. Would stay again for the price.

Waited 30 minutes to check in. There was a sign that said “be back soon!” Then gave a us room that people were in. We walked in a room that had people lying in bed. Guy at counter said it was third time today. The man who checked us in rode elevator with us and was swearing and saying “Jesus Christ” in front of my kids. The room was old and dirty. Hair in tub and on bathroom floor and toilet. Cobwebs in corners. We ended up leaving because it was so bad.

I was charged double the amount i booked room for off of expedia. And the front desk people were no help the woman tried to call police said my wife was excalating. I will not book another room in this motel again.

Easy and friendly check in. Extremely helpful.

Checked in at 9:30pm. Receptionist was nowhere to be found. When she finally showed up she was not personable at all. Barely spoke 2 words to me. We went to our room which was not clean. Bed was unmade. Garbage can was overflowing with garbage. Used towels on bathroom floor. We went back to the receptionist to make her aware of the situation. Her response was “What do you want me to do about it?” When we said we wanted the situation rectified. She told my husband he had an attitude. After she was unable to reach the hotel manager she begrudgingly “cleaned” the room with another coworker who at least was apologetic and polite. The carpet was never vacuumed and given the short amount of time they spent “cleaning” I’m sure it was not done thoroughly. After finally settling in we tried to turn on the tv The remote control was missing a back and the batteries were held in with tape. It barely worked. We were lucky to be able to raise the tv volume. Changing the channel would have been impossible. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the shower light was not working. The shower consisted of a shower hose hung limply from the wall with no way to affix it to the wall. Never ever, ever again will we stay at this hotel.

Autumn was very friendly and welcoming both last night when we checked in and this morning .

Arrived at 11:45 am checking isn't until 3pm however staff went out of their way to clean a room with 2 queen beds so I was able to check in at noon. Staff also carried my bag so I could carry my granddaughter to the room. Once at the room staff asked if I thought it was clean which it absolutely was. I paid for an additional day and even checked out 20 minutes later than checkout. All staff were very accommodating and helpful and kind. Very understanding and helpful being I was suffering in pain having two wear two knee braces making it difficult to hobble around with an infant. Thank you.

Great people but they are understaffed so therefore rooms dont get taken care of like they should. They are over worked but very friendly.

First off when we arrived there was no one at the desk. We waited for a bit when I noticed a small handwritten side laying down up behind the desk on a shelf (not on display) that said if no one here call the desk. So we did that and eventually someone arrived. We booked a room with a sofa bed as there were 4 of us travelling. We were given a tiny room with one queen bed. When we called the desk we were told there were sofa bed rooms but they were reserved for others who hadn’t arrived yet. We weren’t offered a rollout bed or anything, we went and got some blankets, no extra pillows available, and our kids had to sleep on the floor. No apology made.

Hotels . Com listed Sonesta having two beds, which is why I booked this hotel. Upon arrival and check in, once we got to the room, there was only one bed for my family. I went back to the front desk and asked them about our room. The clerk told me that all their rooms only have one bed and that Expedia and third party bookings have them listed wrong . He asked if we wanted a cot, which is said okay. However, we left the hotel. There was not enough beds. Hotels. Com was contacted immediately and they called the hotel. The clerk told them I accepted an upgraded room , which I did not . I told the agent online that a cot was not considered an upgraded room . We left the hotel and had to find another hotel at 9:00 at night . We didn't stay at all. Sonesta refused to refund my stay. I know it was somehow a mix up on hotels.com with the bedding issue but I was aggravated that we were charged for a room that we didn't use and couldn't accommodate my family . My suggestion is for the third party booking sites to update the hotel so other families who think they are getting two beds don't show up at night and have no where for everyone to sleep.

The management here at this hotel is awesome

Good accommodations. Helpful staff. Easy on and off major route around the city and close to both the University and the huge shopping plazas to the north.

While the beds weren't the comfiest and the pillows were pretty flat, the room was clean and sleep-able for one night. Very convenient as there was a mall directly behind the hotel and stores surrounding the hotel within 1-2 miles! Breakfast was free and we had the option of hot or cold breakfast or both!

We have stayed at this location for WVU football games. It’s conveniently located and the staff is great.

The location is not good for food and drinks unless you drive . $10 by uber .

First time at a Sonesta..and likely our last. It was convenient. The check in person was nice The room seemed ok, until it began to smell. We figured it was someone cooking fish or worse next door but it didn’t dissipate overnight. It didn’t help our bathroom fan was broken. Breakfast was a joke. Stale Biscuits, gravy, a little bread. A community pitcher for juice (oh, that's sanitary) The link won't let me upload photos. I went to report the smell and ask about milk for the oatmeal and the lady looked at me like I shot her dog. No thanks..

Not a great hotel. Lots of things were broken. Room was decent but no nice extras. Breakfast bar was very boring.

Breakfast was awful. No milk, juice or water available. Only coffee. Unable to ear, cereal, oatmeal and other offerings. Front desk was no help when asked about it.

No cable throughout the building. Toilet bowl was making noise all night. Fire alarm went off at 3am. And breakfast was a choice of packets of Quaker oatmeal, 3 different cereals, 5 blueberry bagels, and yogurt. And let’s not forget the receptionist’s daughter walking around barefoot as if she was at home.

Always feel safe here. Wish they had something for breakfast besides carbs!

It's convenient and accessible. It's also quite clean. The breakfast was not so great. No eggs or sausage. We were told by the front desk they alternate breakfast menu so that long term guests won't be bored. Overall, it was a good experience staying in the hotel. I recommend it.

Everything was very nice. Good value for the money. Breakfast not so good- eggs dry and sausage gravy cold. Overall pleasant stay.
