Great hotel. Downtown, close to everything. Parking not ideal(had to use valet), but very reasonable. Cool vibe. Loved it

A historic hotel in Morgantown with large, nicely appointed rooms. You do have to pay for parking (hourly or valet). There is a bar on-site with a small menu. A refrigerator, but no microwave is in the room. Complimentary coffee in the morning for guests.

Everything was great, but the $22 for valet parking. In the past, there were city lots nearby, but those have been closed

Not the hotels fault but I was pretty much forced to pay for Valet parking due to the construction. There is never any room to pull in and unload. There needs to be some type of coffee situation either in the room or in the lobby. The carpet needs to be straightened in the rooms, it’s always crooked.

Classic decor, (kinda mid 20th century modern? In rooms. older marble and wood in public areas), well kept, updated, clean. Liked the room amenities, walkin shower, AC. Bar. Downtown location, walk to restaurants, clubs, shops, theater. Valet parking available. Wished we had coffee/tea in room in morning instead of lobby. Too few luggage carts available, we couldn't get one.

We enjoyed our stay. PROS: The property was walkable to great restaurants. Our beds were comfortable. The room was big and the room was laid out well. Nice gym. Friendly staff. Would stay again. CONS: The bathroom area lighting was dim. Would be nice to have somewhere to place items in the shower area. Lobby coffee area needs to be better stocked or provide coffee pots in the rooms, please. Very quiet lobby - bar area was empty all the time which was odd. No free parking. Had to use valet that was a bit pricey for the area.

This was our second stay at Hotel Morgan. Check-in is easy, the hotel bar has fantastic cocktails, and the rooms are charming.

Staff was amazing, valet was excellently and not pricey, the on site restaurant was great! We will be back for the governor suit

Cute boutique hotel in walking distance of several restaurants. When we first arrived we were concerned about safety - walking toward campus seems quite safe, but about one block in the other direction not so much. View from the room was lacking. Nice bar in the hotel, but it was nearly empty when we were there. Room was clean, and nicely sized. Loved the cute retro fridge but not the $7 bottled water. Only real complaint was the window unit AC, which was noisy overnight, possibly due to a visibly dirty filter. Fitness center was basic and a little warm, but worked for a quick trip.

The room was dirty. We found dirty socks under the chair. The toilet wasn’t cleaned. There was makeup on a washcloth that wasn’t washed and the door to the bathroom had makeup and overall was dirty. The bed was clean and comfortable. The downfall was the cleanliness of the room.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff! Wish the parking situation was better. Hotel needs its own parking lot! Bar and bartender were great! Breakfast was ok. Doors and handles in room need a little attention. The grimy. And under toilet and wall behind it need some attention. Has yellow build up. Aside from the things i find important as housekeeping business owner i will stay here again and again!

We stay at Hotel Morgan all the time and love it. Great location, great showers, comfy bed. This time our room was filthy. Never happened before. Like dirty. Stuff on the walls and around the toilet. Check your credit card when you leave, even though I paid through expedia, they charged me for a night stay. It took 3 phone calls and a week and a half for them to credit me back.

We had a nice stay. There was an odd smell on floors 4 and 6 in the hallway. It was reminiscent of a boat bilge and holding tank smell which is not too pleasure. The room was clean and well appointed, it could have used a coat of paint. The staff were incredibly friendly.

The room was wonderful, but there were boot footprints around table and something on floor in front of living room sink. Evidently didn’t get mopped thoroughly. Also found a pair of underwear on floor at end of bed. This is a cause of concern of the cleaning at hotel. With that said, we really loves the hotel, valet and counter staff and the suite meet our business needs. We will stay again, but encourage serious evaluation of cleaning services.

The room was clean. The staff was friendly and polite. But the room was VERY small and the bathroom even smaller. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom!

The hotel has a great vibe. Would have loved to have enjoyed the lobby and lobby bar, but the smell of sewage was unbearable. The bed was very comfortable and the shower great.

We stayed at the Hotel Morgan for a weekend visit to Morgantown and we could not have been happier with our stay. The hotel is newly remodeled and it shows, with everything in the hotel and our room in tip-top shape. Maintenance is also perfect, with clean room, spotless bath and tidy common areas. The room was comfortable and the bed … well I don’t remember much about the bed because I fell asleep in no time flat both nights. If you’re looking for a great centrally-located hotel in Morgantown, the Hotel Morgan is an excellent choice. You won’t be disappointed.

Hotel was beautiful. Staff excellent! Location is a bit noisy at night but the price you pay for the convenience of being so close to everything.

Hotel Morgan is a beautiful spot to stay just a few minutes walk to WVU. Here are the things they could improve upon - more personable check-in. No conversation other than what was absolutely necessary then handed room keys and told where the elevator was. Nothing wrong, but simple and I had to come down, for instance, in search of ice. There is also no information in the room - no book, brochure, placard. Basic. (Answer for ice, by the way, is floors 3, 5, 7 but not near the elevators). As for room comfort - the room is beautiful. Water pressure in the shower was good! Room walls felt thin - I could hear someone snoring all night and that made it difficult to sleep. Room temp was difficult to manage. It was necessary to keep the window A/C unit running to maintain comfort. When it wasn't running, it got hot quick. So, as it was cycling through the night, it was hot/cold, hot/cold. Both my daughter and I did not sleep well because of this. The convenience of Hotel Morgan is the biggest selling point, in my opinion. I would stay here again if/when needed.

The staff were friendly however the service was very poor. The lady taking our coffee order at the bar asked if she could use the paper cups as she tends to spill the coffee when using mugs. Also told us to go across the lobby to get our own sugar. Staff were hard to identify as everyone were wearing very casual clothing. Valet guy was in sweat pants. 3 Staff were complaining at the desk about their manager. We could hear this conversation from across the lobby. The room had a Smokey/musty smell to it. Dirty towels left outside our room which were not ours. Furniture in hallways not dusted for a long time. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was a little dated but that’s because it’s historical hotel in Morgantown. From the time I got there to the time I checked out, it was a great stay. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The valets are super courteous. I will definitely be staying there again

Horrible staff in regards to customer service. Did not receive the room I booked/paid for and did speak with them 2 days in advance to confirm. Horrible experience overall, I would recommend just to stay at Marriott. No one answers the front desk phone.

Usually staying at this property is great. This stay did not meet the expectations. There was no hot water for showers on our last day of our stay. It was reported but never fixed. Also, the valet was very unprofessional and seemed overwhelmed most of the weekemd.. .

Clean room. EXCELLENT staff!

Great hotel. Very charming. NO Tv that worked. This was not corrected during our stay. Was told it was due to a power outage but that outage was rather brief. When I tried to call the front desk no one ever answered . When I finally went down to the desk, no one was there. I found a young guy whose job I don't know, but he couldn't do anything but give me an excuse.

Went to check in after long day of driving only to be told I do not have a room. The hotel clerk told me that Expedia was to call me and email saying that the room was not available and they had overrides the occupancy. I received no phone call and no email regarding this. We called Expedia and they said they would send me an email w list of other hotels. Had to put in a code which I never received. It was a fiasco. We ended up booking ourselves and getting in late to get a room. Very disappointing and exhausting. I hope there is compensation for this. Colleen olson.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Morgantown. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and downtown campus if WVU.

Wonderful location, beautiful all around!

To start, the location is not ideal. There are no actual restaurants nearby, only bars and pubs. When we were there, a wedding reception was in the lobby so anytime we needed to come or go, we had to walk through a bunch of people crammed in there. The valet parking was convenient and fairly priced. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely horrible...it was slightly better than a trickle. We turned the heat on and set off the smoke detector. We went down to the lobby with all the wedding guests to speak to the front desk about this issue which was responded to first by telling me that the smoke detector would stop after 10 minutes to which i replied with a not so kind comment that i wasn't going to listen to that for 10 minutes. The attendant sent a maintenance person up immediately after our conversation who cleaned the filter and fixed the problem...no more smoke alarm. The room is decent sized and clean, but there is no microwave, extra pillows or blankets in the room. We couldn't even find an ice machine on our floor. We had to request toilet paper because there were 2 rolls in the room, but one had about 1/10 of a roll and the other had about 1/4 of a roll and there was no extra in the room. Overall, the room was clean, the valet parking was convenient and the lobby is pretty. Other than that, i have nothing positive to say about my stay. I expected better at this price point.

Valet parking required by the hotel (presumably because the area is unsafe as Morgantown is overrun with a growing homeless and drug problem). However, upon arrival around 9 PM we were told the valet was not there that evening and we had to park on our own and walk back to the hotel. Highly recommend arriving at this hotel before dark. I've not seen homelessness and a sense of desperation on the streets this bad outside of downtown Los Angeles. Next we arrive in our room. It was supposed to be non-smoking but had a smell of smoke. The smell was faint as if previously people had smoked in this room and maybe the hotel designated it a non-smoking room at a later point in history. But, the smoke still lingers in the carpet or other furnishings. It's faint...but, if you're sensitive to smoke you will notice. The bed was comfortable. The shower was wonderful! The staff were all very nice. The hotel has a beautiful ballroom and a nice set up of coffee/tea in the morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Just arrive before dark and be careful outside the hotel.

The property looked to have been updated fairly recently, with the exception of the old paper thin windows. The large building directly next door had been vacant for years & the general area was sketchy.

It was nice decent stay. Some grouting needs cleaning. But nice renovation of hotel. Bar restaurant decently good food for 15 mins before kitchen closed. Historic hotel & walking distance to bars, shops & restaurants and WVU.

Beautiful hotel with attractively decorated rooms. Spacious entry and a comfortable and inviting lounge. The neighborhood is a bit desolate in the evening, but restaurants and coffee shops are a fairly short distance away.

We liked the historical aspect of the hotel. We didn’t like that there were no family restaurants in the immediate walking distance open late Tuesday evening and that the hotel cafe closed at 9:00

The hotel room was clean and comfortable, but I was disappointed to discover that the hotel amenities listed on the Expedia site did not match reality. There was no free parking available, and no parking on the hotel property. Additionally, there was no coffee provided in the rooms, and the bar/restaurant was out of service. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to travellers looking for a comfortable, easy-access night stopover during a long drive.

I booked this hotel while driving into a snow storm. I was fortunate to find this beautiful location. The staff was great! Clearly not expecting the amount of people descending on them but they handled everything very well. The room my daughter and I had was perfect! Clean, warm and beautifully decorated. The shower was great and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. I do wish there were onsite food options but there were several options within walking distance. We would stay there again if we were ever in the area again.

The hotel was very clean and pretty! The lobby and bar are beautiful. Staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was very tiny and I felt like they spent all of their money downstairs versus the room. We were also disappointed the bar was not open in the evening! After a long day of travel I was really looking forward to a cocktail from the pictures on their website. While the hotel was pretty and nice, I’m not sure I would say it’s worth it or would stay here again.

Gorgeous, well-preserved historic hotel. The staff was wonderful. The bartender was great, but the food wasn’t the best. Overall, loved it! Great value for the money.

This property was very nice. The history of the building is very interspersed. They kept the charm of the building when they renovated it. Room was nice and specious. Just wish they had more of a breakfast option at the hotel. Would stay again.
