Hotel Royal New Orleans

Great location. The shower didn’t drain well. The walls are very thin. This is to be expected with the age of the hotel. The room was very small.

The hotel is a beautiful historical building within easy walking to local attractions such as Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street. We had a problem with the first room we were given but this was quickly resolved. The staff were very helpful and friendly, special shout out to Perry. All in all a lovely stay in a great city.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I understand that this is a historic hotel & that there are no elevators; however, no assistance was offered for carrying luggage upstairs, which made check-in difficult from the start. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far below expectations. The room was extremely dusty, the walls were dirty with paint peeling in several areas, & the bathroom floor was lifting with visible mold between the cracks. The sink was also missing a strainer. To make matters worse, the a/c was not functioning properly, making the room very uncomfortable. We originally booked a four-night stay but ended up leaving after just one night because of the room conditions and the lack of on-site management. When I called the front desk, I was told that the manager would contact me the next morning at 7:00 a.m. I never received that call and had to follow up myself. While I understand that the hotel's refund policy may not have allowed for a refund, I believe the photos advertised online do not accurately represent the actual condition of the rooms. The marketing creates an expectation that simply was not met, which I found misleading. The hotel's history & aesthetic charm may appeal to some travelers, but the overall condition, cleanliness issues, maintenance concerns, & lack of customer service made for a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend staying here. Very disappointed.

very hot but right near burbon street, ac is terrible, water not very hot and extra charge when you get there..

fabulous location - lovely rustic feel and the courtyard was pretty - the lovely young lady on reception was so helpful and informative and gave us great restaurant ideas - Did feel the shower and shower unit let the room down but it was satisfactory for purpose - door could do with a better lock but we did have a brilliant stay and would recommend ,
